Now I've been to this place a few times, at different times of the day and it's been reliable. I…read morelove places like this. I love that they have a ton daily specials. It's a kind of place that you come with your family start with a Mediterranean sampler because of course it's going to bring a little bit of everything then the chicken Shawarma, which, with the creamiest dreamier sauce the halloumi but those lamb chops I think my biggest regret was not ordering more of the lamb chops, like I was literally drooling on that. There's even a seven spaces burger with actual lamb. You have to check them out.

The falafel was terrible, the chicken kebob plate was awful, and the overall food quality was completely unacceptable for somewhere calling itself Mediterranean cuisine. The dish claimed to come with peppers there was literally one tiny piece in the entire kebab. The chicken had no flavor and tasted poorly, and the rice was completely off, more like Mexican rice than anything remotely Mediterranean. What's even more frustrating is the way the staff handled it. When we raised concerns, they didn't take any responsibility and brushed it off as if the issue was on us. No attempt to fix the problem, no acknowledgment just dismissive and unprofessional. And somehow, they charge a mandatory 20% service fee for this. For what? There was zero service, zero care, and zero effort to make things right. Charging customers extra while delivering this level of food and attitude is unacceptable. Do not waste your time or money here. There are far better options out there. Honestly, I'd take store-bought hummus from Publix over this. If you actually want good Mediterranean food and proper service, go to Ethos instead it's night and day. This place is not worth it.

Amazing amazing absolutely amazing. I cannot fully describe how good the food is at Krakatoa with…read morewords but I can try. The Gecok is the star of the show. A delicious blend of spices and chicken in a stone pot keeping the food warm as long as possible. The rendang sapi is also equally delectable, along with the nasi goreng. I don't know what the little crispy rice puffs are called but all of them left a satisfying crunch as an added texture to the meal. The wait staff was great and attentive the whole time. And the restaurant is very cute and intimate. A great place for a date night and with a menu like this you're gonna want to try as much as you can and share.

After asking about dietary preferences, our server walked us through the menu page by page, pointing out vegan-friendly dishes and offering recommendations, which we really appreciated and were spot on. Following their suggestions, we started with the Tahu Isi: tofu stuffed with fresh broccoli, pan fried and served with homemade peanut sauce - and the Perkedel Jagung: sweet corn fritters drizzled with Indonesian soy sauce. For our entrée, we split the Gecok with tofu as the protein: roasted black sesame, galangal, kaffir lime, shallots, and coconut milk. Everything was packed with flavor, and it was fun experimenting with the sweet and spicy sauces on the table. The corn fritters were lots of fun! They basically popped in your mouth. Krakatoa is a fantastic spot for vegans and vegetarians while still being an easy choice for dining with meat eaters. Looking forward to returning again soon.
