Been eating at grandmas for years! My whole family loves it! From 3-80. Its right down the block from us and many years ago we decided to try it on a whim. The rest is history, since 2015! Fast forward to a few years ago, when they opened the ventura location. Love them both. Location, prices, feels and vibes, but most of all, the food and hospitality! Idky it took me this long to post a review honestly. And i wish this time i had better pics. We usually eat at the restaurant but often get it to go, which is what we did this time. But i can and will post more pics! Id say these are all our faves, but that would be a lie. I really dont know which i like more than the other. If u have t tried this spot, u should! And leave a review for these awesome peeps!

We tried Grandma's Thai Kitchen recently. The food was good -- flavorful and nicely presented, though not the best I've ever had. What really stood out was the service -- warm, attentive, and made the meal enjoyable. A solid choice for a relaxed Thai dining experience

Fire. Literally everything we ordered was fire. The heat was cooked in and just right. The servings were substantial. The service was professional, sunny, and on-point. We even got a surprise sweet treat at the end. Sorry no food pix. It was our first time and we weren't prepared for the deliciousness. No doubt we WILL BE BACK!

So thankful for this place for being open when we needed it! Great options, best service and very homely ambiance! The spices make everything if you are into Thai bamboo food! We ordered red Thai chicken curry and a delicious sake! Thank you guys for taking care of us, we will definitely be back!

New to me, but suggested by a friend, Grandma's Thai is a delicious Thai restaurant located in Studio City. When I walked in to meet my friend, I immediately noticed the "People Love Us On Yelp" sticker on their door, which is when I knew I was in for a treat. I wasn't starving, so I decided to order the Tofu Satay appetizer not knowing exactly what to expect-- and I ended up falling in love with it! You get large skewers of grilled tofu served alongside peanut sauce, cucumber sauce and slices of bread. The tofu is so well seasoned and the peanut sauce is the star of the show. My lovely waitress brought over another serving of the sauce when she noticed I had run out. I would come back for this appetizer alone! This spot seems to be on the smaller side and deals in a lot of take-out orders, but I still enjoyed my time dining-in. We came around lunchtime on a Friday and we were one of the only parties eating in. My waitress was definitely one of the highlights of my visit, as she was very accommodating and allowed for my friend and I to stay and chat for a while after we had finished eating-- we probably overstayed our welcome a little bit but we were catching up! Parking was easier than I expected alongside Ventura Blvd, which made the visit stress free. Consider adding this spot to your lunch rotation if you live nearby!

Decided to try a new Thai spot, and this place is so so good. We tried the yellow curry & orange chicken and they were both delicious! We've already came back multiple times. Their lunch specials are also amazing. We tried the other location and this is by far better. Highly recommend! Delicious food & friendly staff.

I live very close to this restaurant and go there pretty frequently whenever I have a craving for some great, delicious, authentic, fresh, flavorful food. Since my last review, I have been there many times but today I felt that there is a need for an update. I walked in around 6:45pm and got a very nice welcome from Joe & his wife Joy. It is a family owned business and they are very much loved and close to the community. We are all like one big, happy family. They get most of their clientele from to-go orders and 3rd party orders. The restaurant is pretty chill, big, and quiet. However, they do have fine music playing overhead and nice decor all over. I have tried many dishes from their extensive menu options and love everything that I have tried. On today's visit I tried their Garlic Pork Rib Stir Fry with lots of different kinds of herbs (17.95). It comes with broccoli and steamed white rice. Also got their 5pc vegetable egg rolls (7.95). For dessert, I had their Mango Sticky rice which is to die for.(10.95). Food was tender and delicious. Parking is shared with multiple businesses, place is very clean and they have one gender neutral restroom which is also clean. Go to DISH & I swear that you will become to be part of their family.

Decided to try a few different items on the menu. We started with the Muay Thai Wing Kicks, which were absolutely amazing--perfectly crispy soy chicken wings with a great lemongrass flavor and topped with crispy basil. (Side note: we took the sauce home because it was so good lol) We also ordered the Tom Kah Kai soup which had that perfect hot-and-sour coconut broth flavor i always look for. Followed by the Pad Thai with tofu. All of the Asian dishes were so good. My husband went a different route and ordered the Burrito from their "Little Mexico" section. It comes with minced soy chicken, brown rice, black beans and cashew cheese. He thought it was just okay compared to other items we ordered. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. We noticed their take out was busier than dine in because i counted no less than 8 drivers plus another 3-4 pickup orders came in while we were there. And we were there pretty late.

Meeting friends for lunch, we are limited due to some dietary restrictions of a friend. I stumbled across this place on my quest to find something new and was initially intrigued by the restaurant name. After looking through the menu and seeing a massive amount of options in various types of dishes, I was sold. When I told my friend about this place, she said it was one of her favorites. Choosing from the massive menu was the hardest part. Of course, we ordered way to much and had leftovers for days. Every dish was amazing! I see why it's one of her favorite places. Not only was food delicious, but service was top notch. It's a smallish restaurant with a nice ambiance. They have lunch hours, then close for a bit before reopening for dinner.

We took a break and drove over, followed the signs for the parking since it's in the back. You have to go down an alley. This place is very small but really really good. Great Thai iced tea. My kids really loved it, that's usually a good sign. They have had their fair share of pad thai and have become pad thai snobs. The bathroom is very kitsch and is covered in stickers. For the overstimulated it might be much, my spectrum kiddo needed to go but he just couldn't look at all the stickers. Just be aware. It was clean just visually stimulating. I would definitely come back here anytime I go to Universal. I always like supporting local and truly it's a gem. The roti was highly recommended, and although I've enjoyed roti before, nothing has come close to this version. It was incredibly delicious--light, buttery, and perfectly flaky, with delicate layers that practically melted in my mouth. The accompanying dipping sauce complemented it beautifully. I'm a big fan of drunken noodles, but the version served here was truly exceptional--the best I've ever had. The flavors were rich, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. Our server was attentive, patient, and genuinely kind, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. To top it all off, the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food and service. I would happily return and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an outstanding meal.

We've gotten takeout from here a few times and it's always been good!…read more Here's what I've tried: Pad Thai with Ground Beef - My husband ordered this dish, and it came in a very generous portion. I thought it was too sweet for me and it didn't taste like most Pad Thais I've had or come to expect, but it was still okay. Veggie Rolls - This is pretty much salad/lettuce in a spring roll, and the peanut sauce is what makes it delicious. Not very large or filling, but good if you want some side greens. If you have a peanut allergy, skip these because they're kinda boring without the sauce. Panang Curry with Filet Mignon and added Japanese Pumpkin - This was a good dish! The steak was cooked a little too well for my liking, but it was generous in portion and the sauce was really flavorful. I was glad I added the pumpkin. Filet Mignon Pho - Not my favorite pho ever, but I liked that they offered Thai and Vietnamese options. When I ordered online, I didn't see in the description that it included bean sprouts or basil and that I had to order them for $2 each. I like my pho with every dang thing, so I spent the extra $4. The items did already come with the pho, plus I got an extra bag that I didn't really need to order. The steak was thinly sliced and tender, I just wish there was more of it. Salmon Rolls - These are pretty heavy, the fresh salmon is fried on the outside and rare on the inside. They come with a few dipping sauces, including a spicy mustard that I liked. Thai Tea Caramel Creme - This is honestly the reason I order from here. I am a damn fiend for Thai Tea-flavored desserts, and I crave this one all the time. It has a rich, velvety texture and a strong Thai tea flavor. I have thought of stopping by just to order this, and I probably will. Our orders have always been ready on time, although I can't speak for any dining-in experience, and I think it's a little pricier than other Thai restaurants. The website is just a little wonky... I like that everything is customizable in just about every way, and there are pictures of most items, but the pho order wasn't clear about what it would come with, and some of the upcharges are higher than they should be. However, I will come back for that Thai tea dessert because I've fallen in love.

We also ordered pot stickers as an appetizer. Unfortunately, all of the food was very poor. The pineapple fried rice lacked flavor, and my pad see ew was even worse. It had almost no flavor at all and had a strong, unpleasant smell that made it seem as though something was spoiled. After taking a few bites, I immediately started feeling sick. The pot stickers were also overcooked and not enjoyable. We politely brought our concerns to our server, an older gentleman, hoping he would help resolve the situation. Instead, his response was dismissive and rude. He simply said, "Well, you ordered it," followed by, "Other people order it and don't have a problem with it." That response was unprofessional and did nothing to address our concerns. He never apologized, offered to replace the dish, or suggested any solution. It was clear he didn't care about our experience. I understand that not every meal will be perfect, but customer service is what makes the difference. Unfortunately, both the food and the service fell far below expectations. We left feeling disappointed and won't be returning.
