Been eating at grandmas for years! My whole family loves it! From 3-80. Its right down the block from us and many years ago we decided to try it on a whim. The rest is history, since 2015! Fast forward to a few years ago, when they opened the ventura location. Love them both. Location, prices, feels and vibes, but most of all, the food and hospitality! Idky it took me this long to post a review honestly. And i wish this time i had better pics. We usually eat at the restaurant but often get it to go, which is what we did this time. But i can and will post more pics! Id say these are all our faves, but that would be a lie. I really dont know which i like more than the other. If u have t tried this spot, u should! And leave a review for these awesome peeps!

We tried Grandma's Thai Kitchen recently. The food was good -- flavorful and nicely presented, though not the best I've ever had. What really stood out was the service -- warm, attentive, and made the meal enjoyable. A solid choice for a relaxed Thai dining experience

Fire. Literally everything we ordered was fire. The heat was cooked in and just right. The servings were substantial. The service was professional, sunny, and on-point. We even got a surprise sweet treat at the end. Sorry no food pix. It was our first time and we weren't prepared for the deliciousness. No doubt we WILL BE BACK!

So thankful for this place for being open when we needed it! Great options, best service and very homely ambiance! The spices make everything if you are into Thai bamboo food! We ordered red Thai chicken curry and a delicious sake! Thank you guys for taking care of us, we will definitely be back!

New to me, but suggested by a friend, Grandma's Thai is a delicious Thai restaurant located in Studio City. When I walked in to meet my friend, I immediately noticed the "People Love Us On Yelp" sticker on their door, which is when I knew I was in for a treat. I wasn't starving, so I decided to order the Tofu Satay appetizer not knowing exactly what to expect-- and I ended up falling in love with it! You get large skewers of grilled tofu served alongside peanut sauce, cucumber sauce and slices of bread. The tofu is so well seasoned and the peanut sauce is the star of the show. My lovely waitress brought over another serving of the sauce when she noticed I had run out. I would come back for this appetizer alone! This spot seems to be on the smaller side and deals in a lot of take-out orders, but I still enjoyed my time dining-in. We came around lunchtime on a Friday and we were one of the only parties eating in. My waitress was definitely one of the highlights of my visit, as she was very accommodating and allowed for my friend and I to stay and chat for a while after we had finished eating-- we probably overstayed our welcome a little bit but we were catching up! Parking was easier than I expected alongside Ventura Blvd, which made the visit stress free. Consider adding this spot to your lunch rotation if you live nearby!

Decided to try a new Thai spot, and this place is so so good. We tried the yellow curry & orange chicken and they were both delicious! We've already came back multiple times. Their lunch specials are also amazing. We tried the other location and this is by far better. Highly recommend! Delicious food & friendly staff.

Ordered delivery--pad see ew combo with shrimp fried rice. Delicious and huge portions! Ate it for dinner and lunch the next day!

I've been here twice now and it has not disappointed either time. The pad see ew is delicious. As well as the fried rice. The glass noodle soup hit the spot as well. Unfortunately I didn't get any photos of them because I inhaled the food immediately. I didn't slow down just enough to capture a photo of the sticky and mango which was excellent. The staff was unbelievably nice and they even gifted us a tote bag. Will be coming back here often. Highly recommend it.

I live very close to this restaurant and go there pretty frequently whenever I have a craving for some great, delicious, authentic, fresh, flavorful food. Since my last review, I have been there many times but today I felt that there is a need for an update. I walked in around 6:45pm and got a very nice welcome from Joe & his wife Joy. It is a family owned business and they are very much loved and close to the community. We are all like one big, happy family. They get most of their clientele from to-go orders and 3rd party orders. The restaurant is pretty chill, big, and quiet. However, they do have fine music playing overhead and nice decor all over. I have tried many dishes from their extensive menu options and love everything that I have tried. On today's visit I tried their Garlic Pork Rib Stir Fry with lots of different kinds of herbs (17.95). It comes with broccoli and steamed white rice. Also got their 5pc vegetable egg rolls (7.95). For dessert, I had their Mango Sticky rice which is to die for.(10.95). Food was tender and delicious. Parking is shared with multiple businesses, place is very clean and they have one gender neutral restroom which is also clean. Go to DISH & I swear that you will become to be part of their family.

We took a break and drove over, followed the signs for the parking since it's in the back. You have to go down an alley. This place is very small but really really good. My kids had pad Thai, I had garlic fish, my husband had drunken noodles and my sil had green curry that was sooooook good she ate it all (there was a lot of curry and usually she doesn't finish). Great Thai iced tea. My kids really loved it, that's usually a good sign. They have had their fair share of pad thai and have become pad thai snobs. The bathroom is very kitsch and is covered in stickers. For the overstimulated it might be much, my spectrum kiddo needed to go but he just couldn't look at all the stickers. Just be aware. It was clean just visually stimulating. I would definitely come back here anytime I go to Universal. I always like supporting local and truly it's a gem. Service was great, the server let my daughter grab some stickers. Clearly it's an artsy fun vibe.

The batter was so light and crispy, paired so well with the extra sauce from the crudo as our server has reco'd! The pad see ew was solid and made well, not as impactful as the other. The Massaman Curry Braised beef was really good as well, rich and cozy with tender soft beef (could be a tad less sweet). Then for dessert, we got their Thai coffee ice cream bar with fish sauce caramel! So fun and executed amazingly blending sweet and savory flavors for a perfect balance. Papaya salad was also extremely spicy so would not recommend if you are sensitive to spice. I typically enjoy mild spice. Another Yelper commented that this place was lackluster. Well he nailed it on the coffin. First off, it was hard to find now since it's in a strip mall where all other shops are now permanently closed. Well at least you know parking is no longer a problem here unlike back in the days when you would be lucky to find a parking on the street. Ordered a noodle dish that was supposed to have duck. No duck flavor in the broth and it came out looking like ramen noodles instead of egg noodles and the broth was so bland. Usually, a Thai boat noodle soup would have a rich, beef, savory flavored broth with flavors of herbs and spices. This was bland and took a bit of "doctoring" up with condiments in order to make it taste decent. The beef pad see ew did not have that unique IFYKYK taste you would expect from cooking on a hot, fiery wok. We happened to be driving back home but wanted to get Thai food on the way home. What i should've done is drive a few miles further and ate at the Wat Thai temple. Everything we ate here cost almost freaking $85 dollars including a Thai iced tea and a Sprite with the colored syrup. Save your money and go to Wat Thai for a tastier, food experience.
