Grandview cafe is always my go to for a great bite to eat. The best part about it was the service. My waitress Maggie was so bright and full of energy, brightened my mood after a long work day. We had our drinks out so quick followed with our food. I got the blackened chicken wrap and it was a cherry on top! Atmosphere is excellent. Great location, perfect for sitting outside of the weather is nice. But the food just leaves much to be desired. The pizza is about as flavorless as pizza could be. My spouse got the wings which were good and I had a burger which tasted less than fresh. Service was acceptable. I will go back but it's not because of the food. read more

My sister and I were here a couple Sundays ago and both agreed that it was the worst meal and experience we've ever had. Neither one of us have ever sent food back or complained at any restaurant, but in this case we had to. I'm not even sure where to start. The service was horrible. Our waitress didn't crack a smile and honestly we felt like we were putting her out. I asked her a question on the menu and was given a flippant response. Our food took forever to come out and when it did it was cold. My sister ordered the BLT Benedict which you would think would be pretty hard to mess up. Imagine eating cold eggs over a tasteless fried green tomato with cold Hollandaise sauce. Gagging yet? I ordered the Breakfast Chicken Biscuit. The waitress dropped off our food and NEVER came back to check on us. I noticed right away that the biscuit was lacking the honey butter when I took a bite and it was completely dry. The honey butter was half the reason I ordered it to begin with. I assumed the waitress would check back in a few minutes to make sure we had every thing we needed. She didn't. 15 minutes pass, with my sister and me craning our necks, waving our hands trying to get her attention to come over. Finally the hostess told her to come over. She comes to the table and literally just stands there. Doesn't say a word. Doesn't ask how food is or if we need something. I asked her if she could bring the butter that was supposed to be on my biscuit, which she replied yes. 10 minutes later someone else brings me the butter. By this time, as you can imagine, my food was cold. Who wants to eat a biscuit or fried chicken cold?! The best part is, when the waitress brought over our check, she charged me for the honey butter The positives...the potatoes were decent and when she saw that my sister hadn't touched her food when she came to clear the plates, and my sister offered up that it was cold (not that the waitress asked), she did take it off the bill. read more

I've honestly never tasted good so bland. Me and my Boyd went for brunch and there was not even a pinch of salt of that food. I ordered the breakfast burrito which on the menu it says it comes with salsa and queso but when I ordered it the server said it does not come with it. In addition to that they did not have the queso. It also took forever for our server to even come and greet us, she only checked on us once and it took a long time for our food to come. There was a good 10-15 minutes of time where we could've walked out w/o paying becuz she didn't come get the card. I do not see us going back there any time soon. read more

What a disaster! My wife and I arrived at around noon. We were seated and greeted pleasantly by the server. Then it all went wrong. We ordered immediately and waited close to 45 minutes for our food yet no food. The soup did arrive but that was at least a half hour on its own. We complained to the manager and received zero solace. Apparently the ticket was next up so it would likely have been another twenty minutes before eating. We decided to leave. The manager apologized and explained they were busy and have new staff but offered nothing in return for our inconvenience. I have been to Grandview Cafe once before. My first experience was great, but today was not up to par. My friends and I went in, ordered great food and good drinks. After our second round the manager came over to ask if we wanted anything else because they had people waiting for tables. Even though we hadn't finished the current round of drinks, we ordered more. We racked up almost $150 and planned to keep drinking. The manager (again) came over to our table telling us we needed to leave because they expected people to be mindful of other customers waiting. I have never had a restaurant kick me out at 7pm. I have serving experience and have NEVER been allowed to ask people to leave just because they want to turn tables. They were very rude and I would not recommend going to a restaurant that kicks you out after having drinks and not being able to drive home. read more

First time visitor. They have a bar and tables. They had multiple open tables (5+ open tables). Server kicked us out of the table, stating it was for food service only, although we were purchasing drinks. There was no room at the bar for our group of 5. The waitress wouldn't offer an alternative for us to be located, she simply walked away and ignored us. Would not come here again. NOT customer friendly. read more

Neither server checked in regularly....at best once every 30-45 minutes. On the most recent visit, I ordered a burger. When the bill came, the price was marked up almost $4. When asked about this, server said it was because I ordered fries. I only got fired because the server asked if fries were okay and I said yes. Menu doesn't specify that they're extra, nor did the server mention that. I wouldn't have ordered them had I known. Really wanted to love the new opening and have gone many times to try to "give it another chance." It's a little overpriced for what it is, but I could get past it- no matter how annoyed it makes me. The food is good, really no complaints there. The service is what makes me not want to go. If you're going to get drinks, it's fine. If you're hungry and want food- go somewhere else. I've brought so many out of town guests only to leave disappointed in the service. Time and time again I've had rude servers, waited entirely too long for either food or or check, never would be checked on unless we flagged someone down. I'll still visit as I live close and there aren't a lot of other options for that type of vibe, but I'll never eat there again - and especially bring guests. read more

Beautiful and delicious It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon when we had brunch. First off - the big open windows were amazing!! Next came a killer blueberry lemonade vodka cocktail that was cold and reFRESHing! I ordered the BLT Benedict that I can't even describe with words. So Good! We love this tavern! It is clean, nicely decorated with a great patio, and indoor windows that open in the warm weather. Lots of privacy for a busy place. The service is friendly and attentive. Happy times again with Grandview Café open (for awhile now). My visit happened to be on a late afternoon weekend. I landed at just the right time (SAT) as the interior downstairs was full and I found a seat at the bar. What I ate was their savory Bacon & Tomato sandwich. The bacon was thick and chewy, very tasty and the tomatoes great. I had chips and pickle, I think. I was preoccupied with the sandwich. The open air / windows now make Grandview Cafe's corner a real nice place when the weather is super outside. I took a quick peek at the patio which got an upgrade. I "assume" the upstairs did too. Things seem very good for the Grandview Café. I just hastah believe this place (like the old) will do well.... but the peeps visiting will enjoy the experience even more. I had the opportunity to give the new Grandview Cafe another try. This is an updated review as my first visit was subpar. This experience was much better. We were greeted by Katie who was very pleasant and welcoming. Our server, Michael, was very attentive and knowledgeable. I ordered a signature drink (which was good, just seemed slightly small) and house glass of wine. The happy hour for drinks is pretty good. I was going to order the Fried Green tomato BLT, which Michael said was good but he suggested the Turkey BLT, which was new to the menu. I decided to give his suggestion a try and I'm glad that I did! It was a pleasant surprise to see that the turkey wasn't just sliced deli turkey on the sandwich. The Apple aioli was different, but good. I opted for the truffle fries instead of just regular shoestring fries and they also were very good. My friend ordered the Chicken Sandwich and she said that it was very good. I was a huge fan of the old Grandview Cafe, and after this experience tonight I know I will go back and try some other items on the menu. Overall the food is a hit or miss here my girlfriend and I have gone a couple of times, more so disappointed than impressed (the burger is pretty dang good) our most recent experience we got the Buffalo chicken dip and had some major stomach problems the next day. We stopped by Grandview Cafe on a Sunday evening for a beer and quick meal. The seating situation is confusing because a sign was blocking the stairway but there was no indication of whether it was seat yourself or if I should wait. No one at the bar made eye contact with us and we didn't see servers so we played it safe and sat at the bar. We looked over the menu and noticed it was pretty small and simple. Thankfully, it was 614 Burger week so they had a $6 special burger with no sides. We both ordered the special - The Diner Burger - and my husband ordered a beer. Bonus points for having a decent local beer selection. The burger was simple but satisfying - two patties, lettuce, onion, tomato, cheese, pickle and a special sauce. The sauce and meat were fantastic. I would not have wanted to pay full price for the burger but it was a solid meal. We likely won't return because the atmosphere and service are off. It seems that the restaurant is catering to the 'hip Grandview crowd' but not focusing on their food and service. There is nothing wrong with that approach, but there are far better restaurants (and burgers) in the area. read more
