It's really about the local bar crowd. The patio bar is open as well when weather permits. The food is OK but overpriced. It's never my first place to go for lunch or dinner. Not the kind of place I would recommend travelers exiting the highway for as it has become more of a local hangout at the dinner hour and after. read more

Not what you'd normally expect out of a restaurant situated in a strip mall, but Grandview is, by many accounts, one of the better places to go for food and drink in Northern Kentucky. Grandview is also where a lot of middle-aged wealthy folks that live in Fort Mitchell go for happy hour. All in all, great food and a great atmosphere. read more

The owner is super tacky and the place has a "uppity" feel to it because of the neighborhood its in; it's like a place where people in their 50s and 60s go that when they want to get away from their families, drink too much, and flirt with other married people. We hosted a family dinner here and service was terrible. One waitress assigned to 25+ people. Drinks missed, dinner orders missed, bread and plates served 20-30 minutes apart between tables. Menu overpriced and misleading for portions that were small. Not well cooked side dishes for the price especially. Menu mislead most of our party to believe small salad was included, which it was not. Then when party brought up concerns to staff over being misled and quality of service, a sense of arrogance/attitude was sent in return. Yup, never going back. read more

Not just a tavern. The food was quite good. We had a large party of 19 people and they were able to efficiently and pleasantly accommodate us on a Saturday night (which was totally lucky). I would recommend making a reservation. Our server was friendly and the right amount of attentive. The food was very good. Calamari appetizer was excellent. The house Basil vinaigrette was delicious. I like the grandview. The food is good, the service is good and I enjoy the atmosphere. The ourdoor area in the summer is really fun and nice. They are usually busy - so your service may be a bit slower than other less crowded places, but it is a really good neighborhood restaurant - not a chain. read more

The food is inconsistent. The prices are far too high for the quality. I have never had servers who are rude but it can be very slow and sometimes you sit for a long time without anyone checking to see if you have what you need. Honestly what bothers me more than anything about grandview is the atmosphere. Really really drunk middle age men and women. I have a feeling this is where people who swing in fort Mitchell go for pre drinks. Pathetic. And at my last visit. I ordered a Moscow mule that came in a very nice copper mug. Great drink, but I was told I would have to hand over my driver's license so I wouldn't steal the glass. Are they joking about this??! To outright tell your customer that you don't trust them not to steal from you is appalling. If so many people are stealing your bar ware that you require collateral, figure something out. Don't make it my problem. read more

If I had written this review a year ago it would have been 5 stars. I have been there many times since they opened. I saw a deal on Cincysavers & purchased it. (it states that it is good for food & alcohol) I was there on Monday night & the manager did everything in her power to not honor the deal. She stated that even though I had been willing to purchase $50 worth of food that because it was half price bottle of wine night & I had purchased 2 bottles of wine they could not honor the Cincysavers, that they owner would fire her for having it on the "same table number"...We sat at the bar. Oh & my friend was on a separate check. I then see I was charged more on my credit card than I had authorized. Please do not waste your money!!! Food was good though.....manager that night very lacking in service skills making us feel like we were unwelcome for purchasing the Cincysaver deal.. I will not be back. Good location, good ambiance, and nice bar. I don't mind spending money, especially on a great dinner and good wine, but I do mind spending money on a sub par dinner. We started with the Ahi Tuna crusted in sesame seeds. The tuna was really good and most of the accompaniments were also, except the raw red onion slices, wow way overpowering. The Viogner wine was great, which the server didn't know about, and had the manager answer questions about it. That was nice that they were willing to take time out of their busy night to answer questions about wine. I had Pan Seared Halibut, with green beans and lemon-basil risotto, and was priced at $32. The halibut, which was questionable that it was halibut, was seasoned good and tasted good, but was so overcooked I could hardly cut it. The "risotto" was definitely not risotto, it was very dried out rice at best. Not only was it not cooked correctly, but it was not priced correctly either, that seems really pricey for restaurant located in a strip mall that focuses most of their attention on bar patrons. My husband had the Lamb Chopped with mashed potatoes and baby carrots. The chops were cooked good, but there was some type of sauce all over the plate, that had the most overpowering smokey smell and taste, it seemed like Liquid Smoke. Which why would you use liquid smoke in a nice restaurant, especially on lamb chops that cost $36! The red mashed potatoes were old and gummy, I think they had been sitting for a while. The carrots were on the verge of being raw, if they had been cooked at all would be a surprise to me. They were so though, that you could barely cut thru them with a steak knife. For dessert we had "locally sourced" cupcakes, a trio of mini cupcakes, they were OK for a Kroger's bakery counter, but not an upscale restaurant. We decided that since the bar area seemed to be happening, we would stay for a few drinks. There was a band playing, which was nice, the servers were very nice and helpful. The bar scene was terrible. I thought I had been transported to a scene from The Real Housewives of lets say Northern Kentucky. Woo, cougar town definitely, not my forte, but I guess it is nice for the over 50's to have a place to let loose. I certainly will not be back. My suggestion is if you are going to serve food at this standard, then you should lower the price to meet your cooking. read more

My wife and I have been there often. We used to love going there. Recent visits we watch bartenders drinking on the job. By nights end they are barely able to communicate. Bar Service is poor. We know the owner and if we are sitting with her, we get good service. If we are not near her, poor service. Often she is barely able to communicate so its no wonder the bartenders drink. We were seated at an outdoor table, per our reservation, at 6:30. At 8:30 we were told by the restaurant owner that we had to leave our table because other patrons had reserved our exact table for 8:45. We explained that we were still eating and drinking and the owner said "you've been at this table for three hours". We reminded her how to tell time and explained that we had been there just over two hours. I pointed at the table next to us who were there when we arrived and the owner stated "they are regulars, they can stay as long as they want" and then we were told the people who wanted our exact table were also regulars. We explained that we did not want to move, she stated we had to. We got our check from our very embarrassed server and left. Ridiculous. read more

I've been coming here for about 6 years. Why? Bc it's local and they have outside dining. The food is mostly good. I've had their filet, pork tenderloin, meat loaf, and lots of other things I can't think of off the top of my mind. They have a really nice drink menu and my favorite is the mango jalapeño maritini. I like to go here for these and the food is an after thought. They have a decent happy hour. Taking away two stars bc sometimes the hostess can be rude, like I'm not good enough bc I just left gym and hair is pulled up and my face is red. Have had that happen a few times. Also their menu prices and kind of expensive and I've been disappointed at some aspect of every meal. And lastly this place is ALWAYS the "real midlife housewives of NKY" and older men on the prowl. Because this place is a hop and a skip from my house it gets my business. I wouldn't recommend kids I'm sure the staff would just get all in a tizzy. read more

OK- the pizza is really good and the wine is good and the staff is great and the ambience is nice (but get rid of the TVS PLEASE). Atmosphere is casual, lots of older northern Kentuckians congregating around bar, as if retirement living is boring. Oysters Rockefeller were very well prepared and tasted very good. Ordered ribeye with potato and veggies for main course . Steak was FAR from medium rare. With a steak that is about an inch thick, 2 minutes each side , flip and plate. This was more of a 3 and a half minutes per side , very very small amount of pink. For a 36 dollar dinner, that steak better be better than what I can cook on my grill (which I think is perfect every time!) . Service on the patio was decent, busy and seemed understaffed but our server definitely did his best with what he had . I would return, think I'll stick to appetizers in the future . read more

My wife and I went last Saturday for the first time. We had reservations for 8:00 pm through open table. Told the greeter we had reservations and he said he could seat us in a few minutes but the kitchen was backed up and the servers couldn't place any orders for 15 minutes????? He never did check us in so we sat at in the bar area and eventually ate. Not overly impressed although the the band was decent. Probably won't return. read more

Two visit to this place during my travels. Both were very good experiences. Not the cheapest place on the strip but one of the better ones. Hosted large, somewhat casual business dinner at the Grandview and it fit the bill perfectly. We will visit again on our next trip to No. KY. read more
