Made a special trip to this shop after seeing reviews about their delicious apple fritters, especially since they're known for making them extra large. I was picking up donuts for a birthday, and this just seemed like the best choice. The donuts I picked out for the birthday person were a bit hit-or-miss since they're pretty particular about donuts. They loved the apple fritters, but not so much the cake donuts or the cronut. They prefer a denser cake donut, though they still said these were good. I tried everything myself and thought they were all great, so it really comes down to personal preference. I got a few cake donuts: the blueberry, pink frosted with sprinkles, and a chocolate cake donut. All the cake donuts were super moist, soft, and cake-like without being overly dense. It reminded me of a cupcake in a donut form. If you prefer a denser cake donut, these may not be for you. Out of the three, the blueberry was by far my favorite. The apple fritters were also delicious. You could actually taste the apples throughout, which I really appreciated. The outside had a nice crispness while the inside stayed soft and tender. I will say they were quite sweet, so I couldn't eat too much of one at a time. The glazed donut was a solid classic. It was lightly glazed, soft, and pillowy. The glazed cronut, however, wasn't quite as impressive. It wasn't the best cronut I've had, but it wasn't the worst either. It was just a bit too doughy and lacked the crisp, flaky texture I was hoping for. Overall, the donuts were very good and reasonably priced. The best selection, at any hour. I'm not sure what is but I can't come here at the oddest hour and they always have an amazing selection of fresh donuts. I treat my son to a donut about once a week and this is my go to spot. There's around 4 other donut options but this Granny's Donuts location has never let me down. The staff is always welcoming and patient when my son spends a little too much time deciding between the only 2 donuts he eats. There's no reason to go anywhere else. read more

This is my go-to Granny's donuts. The donuts are your basic donut shop selection but they taste good. It's soft and just the right amount of icing. Sometimes they have donuts fresh from the fryer and it's still warm, it's the best! I also like and recommend their egg, ham and cheese croissant sandwiches. They're open 24/7 so it's a plus as well. For being open around the clock, the service (an Asian man wearing a mask behind the counter) was so kind and I garnered major respect for him. He was accommodating and asked if we wanted our crossaint warmed up as well. And oh my god was it flaky, buttery, cheesy, PACKED with ham, two whole rolls of it as opposed to other places who sprinkle on the toppings, he PACKED it in there for a delicious and hearty treat. While the jalapeno ones were out, he asked if we just wanted it on the side which was cool with me. That old fashioned donut though, I am still thinking about it. It had a delicious texture, that slight crisp on the outside and the sugary glaze leading to the whole experience being a texture delight as it melted in my mouth. There were people around my age hanging out inside and outside and it felt really comforting to know that this place will be here for locals. This donut shop cares and knows exactly what they're doing. They are not messing around with any subpar ingredients or methods and it shows. I am unfortunately (or fortunately) an addict of donuts that has tried many places and am so grateful to add this one up there with my faves and top dogs. I had the pleasure of chatting with one of the owners and learned a lot of interesting little things showing that they really care about their product. A donut shop can just be a donut shop, but with the mastering of the subtle nuances and the intangible ingredients of love and passion you get a great product that the consumer can taste. I'm trying to slowly make my way through trying all their offerings, but so far I basically recommend everything especially a good ol glazed raised. Loyal to my local donut shop right across Bellflower High School called Cherris Donuts. But, unfortunately they were closed so I decided to swing by this place and give it a shot... This is why i'm loyal to my donut shop. all I ordered were TWO!! simple ham sandwiches and 2 shakes. we sit down to wait bc we know it's a bit to make. A BIT!!! people arrive, families of 5 ordering their sandwiches and they receive theirs. a line formed and still no sandwich of ours in sight. finally hear the blender go off and wow.. 30 mins and barely a blender? Here our shakes. we stand around a bit more in the front and the man comes around asking if "anything else?" ???? YES ! Yes i would love the 2 sandwiches I ordered 40 mins ago!
