I've been coming here for a while, and I have mixed feelings lately. The prices are a bit on the steep side for donuts, especially considering they used to be consistently soft and really good. Recently, though, the quality hasn't been the same--some donuts are oily, while others are dry, which is disappointing compared to how they were before. I've also tried the ham and cheese croissant, and unfortunately it was pretty underwhelming. The amount of ham and cheese is very minimal and mostly just sits in the middle, so most bites are just plain croissant. One thing to note is that they don't accept credit cards. That said, they do offer Zelle and Venmo if you don't have cash, which helps. Customer service itself is generally good, and the owners are friendly. I've often seen them give out extra donuts to certain customers, though it seems to go to the same type of people each time. Despite being a repeat customer, I've never received anything extra myself, and it does start to feel noticeable after a while. Overall, I want to love this place like I used to, but between the higher prices, inconsistent food quality, and the uneven customer experience, it's been a hit or miss lately. read more

This cute little doughnut shop has always caught my eye but I never stopped... well it's a new year and I decided to change that & I am so happy I did ! The customer service is out of this world !!! This is such a family place where many regulars come and are greeted by name. LOVE IT !! We come in a few times a week since it's on the way to our kids school. Staff is always so sweet and friendly, our kids get lollipops every time we come in! Always gotta make a stop here when I'm on this side of town. Great customer service from all the staff. Lots of spacious parking. They taken Venmo and Zelle which is a total plus because cash isn't always on hand. Their hazelnut coffee and ham & cheese croissant is a must try here! My wife and I walked in for our first time and Sylvia was so friendly and warm. Right off the back I already liked her. I bought more than what I wanted because I just want to support good people and owners like this that cater and care about their customers. You don't have good quality business like this anymore and I will keep supporting. I am blessed to have her in my neighborhood. The Donuts are delicious! The store is neat and organized. Had a 4am craving, these donuts were so good, so fresh, soft! Classic flavors like the chocolate, glazed, sugar, buttermilk, cinnamon. Good chocolate nom nom! Sandwiches aren't on the menu, but he may have ham and cheese croissants on deck, just ask, and he'll also warm it up. They are good too! Good parking, clean donut shop, no homeless around. Owner is very friendly, known in the community, been here for many generations, has seen kids grow up now with their own kids. Mentioned he's also given a complimentary donut to homeless and requested they don't hang out and solicit near their place. Feels nice and safe to get a donut here at 4am when it's dark o'clock. We went here on whim on a Sunday, as we are always trying new donut spots. I know that this place has been around for a while and I get, it's a little local donut shop. The donuts, were pretty simple and pretty basic tasting, nothing about them really stood out. The inside also, looks like a very basic and standard donut shop. The service was good, the ladies inside were helpful and very cheerful and very attentive. I feel there is a lot that could be done on the inside to make The Donut Place look and feel more welcoming. I walked in & was immediately greeted! So rare nowadays. She was so nice standing there with beautiful eyeshadow. I noticed how perfect the donuts looked so fluffy and neatly shaped. Pleasant, convenient, tasty and polite. But, the workers never wear a mask to protect the health of their customers during these Covid times. Masks are clearly required according to their own signage. I've tried them more than a few times, asked them about their masking to only a chuckle and smile. Now will take my $2.50-$5.00 Sunday and go somewhere else. Grandmas on Woodruff has clear protocols in place for workers and patrons protection. read more

Donuts are really good! You can tell it's great quality! Doesn't feel greasy, the icing doesn't melt when touched, soft and fresh. The workers are sooooo nice, courteous and professional. You know a good donut in the simplest of forms, glazed... :) The glazed twist is by far the best around, a must! I usually go to Simmones on Palo Verde & Stearns for donuts and honestly just thought I wasn't a donut person because they are highly rated, always have a line out the door but I'm not a fan. Drove past the Donut Place. Stopped by. Was surprised at the cost of a dozen donuts. Outrageous! This morning there were about 10 people inside, all wearing a mask, a short distance because the place is small, there were only two people who were not wearing a mask, the owner of the place and the employee... it cannot be possible for a business with many customers and everyone wearing a mask, the only two people who did not use it, were the Owner and the employee, on this days that the cases of Covid and omicron are increasing, we must have respect for other people, especially the clients... I've passed this spot so often, especially on Sundays after church. I don't ever stop because well....donuts!! I am so happy i did though. This small, unassuming, strip mall donut shop seriously has the best donut staples & pastries I've had in a long time, including trendy shops and mochi ones. The donuts were fluffy, without that nasty taste of old frying oil that some other places sometimes have. I got several: a. regular glazed twist : it was still warm, soft and tasty on the drive home. b. Bear claw : apple cinnamon filling - I am eating the half the day AFTER and it's still as good as the first half from yesterday. c. Old fashioned sour cream bar glazed - (it's the kind that's split down the middle ) was crunchy and still moist, if you can imagine that. d. Apple fritter - my favorite pastry - wish it came in smaller pieces, since I tend to otherwise eat the whole thing, e. free: (their hours are shorter in summer and maybe the lady behind the counter liked to throw these in) : Chocolate glazed bar and sugar dusted donut. f. I ordered an iced banana latte and it was good! I would say it was more a hint of banana. I also tried their chocolate croissant which was a good size for breakfast and was perfectly toasted. Most people come here for their matcha so I'd have to give that a try next time. While there is a parking lot, parking was a bit challenging as this coffee shop is in the same lot as a lot of other businesses.

When I first walked in the baristas had no interest in taking my order, both girls were in a heavy conversation about their personal stuff. One was facing me from a distance and the other near the register had her back to me. When they finally took a quick pause she asked for my order and they continued to talk to each other. So then I waited, and waited, and waited for my order. Another customer comes in and I noticed same thing happening, the girls there are much more interested in their conversation than they are working and helping customers. My order took much longer than expected by no surprise to me at this point, but not because it was busy but because the baristas continued to carry on their conversation. Needless to say my drink took much longer than expected since they continued to talk and couldn't care less about the customers. Please be forewarned, this place had zero service and prepared a matcha that made ME SICK! I hate this place!
