Especially considering one of our omelets wasn't cooked through fully. That was disappointing after hearing so many good things about the breakfast here. The waitstaff were very friendly and did a great job, no complaints there. Had we not waited so long, I'd have given it 4 stars. I could be persuaded to try it again as again the food was pretty good.

We sat at the bar (as always) and Sarah took great care of us (as always). AND, because it was Saturday I could order the stuffed hash browns! I had never heard of this delight until I started visiting Michigan. Shredded hash browns with sautéed veggies and breakfast meat, cheese and either ranch dressing or sour cream. This was the first time I've ordered them here, and I was REAL happy with my order! I went with the 1/2 order - and it was a lot of food. Ham, bacon, onions, peppers, cheese and I subbed sour cream for the ranch and added 2 over easy eggs. My Mr had the all meat omelette and really enjoyed it. Our toast was hot and buttery. We come to Whitlow's A LOT. It is our favorite breakfast place when we want classic breakfast. There is nothing fancy, but everything is really good. And their prices are very reasonable.

I appreciated my old fashioned (the bartender that night said she loved making them, and you could tell!), that the incredibly generous bartender *also* hooked me up with a huge skewer of olives when I jokingly told her I was too far from the ocean here in Michigan and my salt levels felt low (what a cute interaction!), and the banter at the bar from both her and the other customers seemed both organic and lively. If you're coming here for food and you're vegan... good luck. I ordered a basket of french fries and while they were abundant and moreish, they were also underseasoned (and I don't know for sure they were vegan).

We love the bar and the overall feel of the bar area. It's different than anything else in the area. We arrived around 8pm on Sunday, 10/27/24 and sat at the bar. Lisa took such good care of us. For starters I had the French soup and he had the Caesar - minus red onion. The soup was everything I wanted it to be. The croutons were sourdough and that was nice twist. The Caesar was different. It had tomatoes, Kalamata olives, red onion and Parmesan crisps. We both thought the dressing had a very strong anchovy flavor, more than any other dressing either of us have had. He said he would get it again, I would not. We split the Chicken Milanese and the kitchen was kind enough to put it on 2 plates! And they didn't charge us! We both really liked the pasta dish. The chicken was pan fried, the perfect crunch on the outside, well seasoned and the chicken was moist and tender. The pasta in lemon sauce was light and had delightful flavor. This was one of our best experiences at Walker's. It's always been good, but tonight was great.
