a drink in a glass and a wallet on a table

The service = 5 stars + the drink prices = 5 stars The entrance is a little tricky, you need to go inside the building. I was instantly greeted like I was family, and the place was decently busy, busy still had some space. I love a good tavern/pub, but this one felt amazing to go to as a visitor! Beers are around $3.75 and they are trying to keep it that way! Cash is encouraged to help keep the costs down of this family feeling vibe place. I tried a local beer (only beer in bottles, no draft) and a shot of Jameson! Everything was amazing. Place was clean - did not smell like smoke, and the decor is so fun/funny! Thanks for having me! :)

Right by our hotel and just wanted to grab a beer. At first glance you may think-I don't wanna eat here. Well we were starving and wow did I insert foot in mouth! Had the French dip & roast beef sandwiches. Holy wow they were delicious. Couple drinks and super cheap! 2 meals, 6 drinks ( don't judge) & tab was less than $40. We will be returning on our trip before we leave. Icing on top/-had a basket of chocolates and sweets for desert!

We have recently tried the Pesto pizza (I sub chicken on top instead) and the brisket mac and cheese which was probably the biggest mac and cheese I have ever seen and super yummy. It was definitely not traditional. The sauce was very thick and almost floury. They serve it with pork belly, which does not give the same punch of flavor to cut through the sauce as guanchali or bacon. The papardelle noodle were dry and clumpy. The dish was very heavy. Do not recommend. The place is chill. It is close to the theater. I might try it again if in the area.

Now, I am going to take you on a journey just like the books Belle read so strap in. We had a 5:45 PM reservation, and even arrived a few minutes early. The hostess/employee (I don't want to assume positions) took me upstairs for a table right by the window, which will be an awesome view when the construction finishes. It was also a beautiful sight of that part of the city as-is. When I was seated, I was one of a few tables seated. It was not full or even busy at that time. Also, as we were seated, we were given waters. My friend joined me about 5-7 minutes after the reservation time. We then ordered our drinks at about 6:00/6:05 PM. From there, we waited and did not meet our waiter, who will be referred to as sweet baby angel Max from here on out, until about 6:20 PM. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees at around this time. Our orders had some modifications but nothing major. By this time, many more tables were seated upstairs and others seemingly received their alcoholic drinks and even appetizers by the time we received only our drinks around 6:30-6:40. Our drinks were big, too, which is great, but that also meant we had to drink them a little more quickly due to the time constraints with the show. We were enjoying ourselves but noticed multiple more tables receiving not only their drinks and apps but also their entrees. Once 6:55 came, we had to tell sweet baby angel Max about our predicament. I will be honest and say we suggested for our drinks to be comped at least - not only for the wait and lack of courtesy with everyone else receiving their items before us despite our arrival and reservation time, but for the fact that we would have maybe 15 minutes to eat, finish our drinks, pay, take our food back to our cars, and make curtain time. What sweet baby angel Max did next flabbered our gasts -- he said not only will our drinks be comped but our whole meal will be comped. He also helped pack our food and kept it in the back so we didn't have to worry about going back to our cars. We made sure to tip him with all we had! We are so glad we did because when we returned after the show, he had the kitchen remake the food and kept it warm for us. When you go to The Eagle, ask for sweet baby angel Max and you will not be disappointed with him, the service, or the food. Because even when they may mess up? The Eagle gets it right with their classy attitude and positive treatment of their customers. You definitely have multiple return customers just from this encounter. Thank you!!!

LOVED our dinner at this place…read more We came here for dinner while visiting Pittsburgh. The first thing that struck me was the interior decor. Very industrial and moody with an open kitchen/preparation area that adds some intrigue. I do like to see the happenings of what's going on as someone with zero attention span. Service was excellent. George was fantastic. He kept a close eye on us without being overbearing. He anticipated what we might need so we didn't spend one second waiting to order anything. The menu is not endless or overwhelming which, presumably, allows them to focus on the items that are listed. I have decision panic so it was kinda nice to have less things to choose from. They asked if there were any allergies or dietary restrictions so I mentioned my vegetarianism. George went through the menu and pointed out the vegetarian options including what seems like it is vegetarian but isn't. They had TWO vegetarian entree options and fortunately the non-mushroom one was something I probably would have ordered anyway: pesto with walnuts, arugula, and a very generous amount of grated cheese. To start, I ordered the Brussels sprouts whichc I was warned had fish sauce. This was fine but nothing that blew me away. GF, on the other hand, loved this. GF ordered the wedge which was brought to our attention as vegetarian with the bacon on the side, which was her request. We ended up sharing both, a large part of that was because hers came out first and I couldn't wait but I'm so glad because the wege was FANTASTIC. The dressing? holy fuck pure ecastasy. The wedge was more like a filet shape which was much easier to eat. Who decided on the wedge shape anyway? The lettuce was so fresh and crisp and went wonderfully with that orgasmic dressing and breadcrumbs. Back to my pasta. Also delectable. Noodles were al dente. The sauce was creamy and packed that pesto umami flavor. The walnuts were a really nice contrast in texture. Everything about it absolutely fucking slapped. GF ordered the mushroom entree which came served on a bed of barley which, don't mind if I do, had a few forkfuls to "sample" for "my review". Again, so fucking good. Because it was my birthday, George provided a dessert (yuzu maybe?) that was served inside a meringue-esque igloo, creamy perfect balance of sweet and tart custard with some berry business underneath. Wonderful. I almost forgot their spectacular cocktails! Holy shit, literally they have a CORN CHIP cocktail that I could not pass up. It comes with two massive cornchips on top of a flavored foam. When you bring the glass up to sip, the cornchips are right in front of your nose and their aroma sets the stage for the drink which was STRONG. It wasn't as corn chip forward as I expected but I understand that flavor is probaly hard to create. For my second drink, I ordered the blue one which was refreshing, light, and really good. GF ordered a spritz which was gorgeous "it was good". For second round, I picked out some uranium thing that was very cucumbery, GF says, "it was good". I just read it outloud to her. "it's true!" Fantastic meal at a great place.

I went there with a small group of families/kids after an outing at the Children's Museum; it was great to be able to walk over to an easy lunch that was better than the museum cafe. We'd probably come back just for this convenience. But I can also see how Federal Galley could have a sports bar feel when a Bucco or Steeler game is going on nearby. That said, the food was just ok. Portions were huge, but the dishes were kind of basic with a ton of sauciness/goopiness. My burrito from Mijo had a ton of chicken but not much in terms of beans and rice and no veggies or garnishes. My wife got a huevos rancheros bowl that just had mountains of sauce; it filled her up, made her very thirsty, and made a huge mess. Here are my ratings for what we ate: Beef Graffiti's Smashie burger - 4 stars - This burger was not greasy, and its accompanying fries were not soggy. They were decent. Mijo's Street Taco Entree - 4 stars - We ordered three flavors of tacos: Al Pastor with Pineapple (which my husband described as "good" and "best"), Carne Asada, and Shrimp. The sides were plain rice and beans. Usually my husband loves rice and beans, but he called these ones "interesting" and "bad." TS Cafe's Greek Salad - 4 stars - This salad contained fresh, tasty ingredients. The total price for these foods plus a soda and water was about $61.

First, this restaurant is on the 25th floor in part of the space where the law firm K&L Gates used to be. This actually used to be their lunchroom. The lunch menu was excellent. Very well-priced and everything was quite tasty. Our service was top notch as well. Daniel (our server) was excellent, taking great care to make sure we were satisfied and had everything we needed. He deserves major kudos for taking great care of us. I will definitely be back again for lunch and dinner. Check out the pool while you're there. It's comparable to any other pool. However, it was an engineering feat, as it is located on the 25th floor as well! Kudos to Elevation for a great experience and for continuing to raise the bar for Pittsburgh's restaurant scene.

My son called and made reservations. The day came at I met him in the hotel lobby. We took the elevator up to the 25th (27th?? Can't remember) floor where the restaurant is. When we got there we were told that they weren't ready yet. We didn't even tell them we had reservations. So we waited. . . and waited. Finally my son walked over to the bar and told them that we had reservations. The bartender called a server out. She asked us if we were doing fine dining. I said that I wanted to check out the menu to see what they had. She took us to the back of the restaurant. We found out later that there was a nicer area but it was closed off. All of a sudden all of these people started coming in. It took us a minute and we realized that they were guests of the Embassy hotel. They must have been given tickets for free drinks. The bar line was long and stayed long. They were also given access to a very small snack buffet. The server that waited on us was the one and only server working the entire restaurant. She was constantly cleaning tables and checking on the snack buffet. So we had to wait ridiculous amounts of time to order, to get our food, and to even pay. I had ordered a cup of lobster and corn chowder. When I finally got it, it was barely room temperature. It tasted like it was straight out of a can. There was one tiny piece of lobster and about half a can of corn. I hadn't eaten since breakfast and was starving so I ate it. My son tried it and gave it a hard pass. As my entree I ordered shrimp tacos. There was seemed to be fresh pico on it but the shrimp was 90% breading. Not good. My son ordered the club type sandwich. It had a nice portion of meat on it and tasted ok. (That is what the one star is for.). Was very disappointed from start to finish. I won't be back. Ever.
