Dealerships can vary in terms of customer service and Grapevine Honda is no different. My home Honda dealership is McKinney Honda, however, Grapevine Honda is closer to my office so I took a chance. Here are my two experiences, both from the last month, with my certified pre-owned Honda CR-V. 1. I was having battery issues as it wasn't holding a charge. I had AAA diagnose the problem earlier in the day and the tech indicated it was a bad cell preventing it from holding a charge. Because the CR-V had an extended warranty and certified pre-owned, I thought perhaps the battery would be covered under warranty so I took it into the dealership. Unfortunately, Grapevine Honda said the battery was not part of the warranty and it would cost $300 for the regular battery and $450 for the H5 battery which my model CR-V required per the sales advisor. I ended up calling AAA again and had them install the H5 battery for $244 along with a 3 year warranty. The mark-up for a car battery at Grapevine Honda is insane. Service interaction was good, but the price gouging is unacceptable. 2. Maintenance code B127 popped up on the display, which meant I needed an oil change. Grapevine Honda was running a special on oil changes, so I went there due to the proximity to my office. Part of the multi-point inspection showed that I needed to change my transmission fluid as there was no record of it ever being changed, so I approved of it based on the history that was presented to me in the moment. However, when I got home late that night, I reviewed the certified pre-owned checklist paperwork and the transmission fluid was indeed changed prior to buying the vehicle 5 months before. The next day, I talked to the service advisor, Kyle Guyette, who helped research further and discovered that the Honda database (EVRM) did indeed show that the transmission fluid was changed a few months prior. (Apparently, Grapevine looks at Carfax data on vehicles as EVRM may not always be accurate; in this case the Carfax data was missing work that was done on my CR-V.) Nonetheless, Kyle was able to resolve the situation and issued a full refund on the transmission fluid flush that was done but not required. I appreciated the fact that Kyle was very professional and handled the situation extremely well by making things right - there was no hesitation or trying to deny or negotiate. Bottomline: work was done that was not required to the vehicle, but Kyle rectified and resolved the situation professionally and quickly. Because of this, trust has been established. The next time the CR-V needs servicing, I will be working with Kyle, who I highly recommend to anyone who has a Honda that requires maintenance or repairs. read more

I had a very disappointing and unprofessional experience with this dealership and would not recommend them. I was shopping for a used Honda and from the start the process lacked transparency. I was initially given a quote sheet with no APR information and had to ask directly for the interest rate details. When financing was presented, I was pushed toward high-interest in-house options over long terms, while my pre-approved credit union financing was dismissed as "impossible," despite being an approved loan Throughout the process, I experienced repeated high-pressure sales tactics, including attempts to discourage outside financing, minimizing the value of an independent mechanic inspection, and creating false urgency by implying other buyers were actively interested in the vehicle. I was also asked to provide my mechanic's photos and documentation, which I found inappropriate. After I chose not to proceed, the dealership escalated contact attempts beyond normal customer communication, including contacting my employer using information I provided and reaching out to my manager in an attempt to get ahold of me. This was unnecessary and unprofessional. Overall, I did not feel the dealership operated with transparency, professionalism, or respect for the buyer's financing choices or boundaries. read more

I want to be fair. Everyone has story about buying car from a dealership. We get there at 5:00 and take test drive and say yes we want to buy the car. Now the beating begins and again everyone has a story. Hey we have a trade in and please give us your interest rate. They run credit check on my step son and his wife. They both have good credit and so here is the interest rate. Oh no it's terrible (7.61%). We do it argue about the price or the trade in. Ok fine I'm paying cash and they can pay me back. More time . I write the check at 7:00 but they still need to sign papers with the credit manager. I leave. At 9:00 they leave the building. Had an ok buying experience. Jeff was a good salesman, but everything after the sale has been terrible. The communication is non existent. I've been emailing the finance department with no response, the sales manager with no response and finally the general manager. I still haven't received an inspection sticker and no one can give me the warranty information on the Permaplate I was forced to buy that come to find out was not applied to my car at all. No water beading whatsoever when I handwashed the vehicle. Either they forgot to apply it or they never intended to. Complete scam. Deceptive practices, don't buy here! I purchased a 2022 HR-V under "Honda True Certified", which "guarantees" a multi-point rigorous inspection. The very first day, the front axles were clicking and broken. Shortly after, the car wouldn't start because they sold it with a completely dead, old battery. They left my wife stranded multiple times and refused to provide a loaner vehicle. I can't believe they sold me the vehicle as "Certified" To make matters worse, I officially cancelled an extended insurance product on April 22nd, they gave me the cancellation signed by Devon of Sales. So, I was expecting my reimbursement in my Honda Finance Account, but it is not showed up. That's why I called to Manager Sergio, he told me "I'll check it out for you, I'll call you back in 10 or 15 minutes"... Guess what... You're right! He never called me back. So, I called Honda Care Corporate and Juan told me that the dealer never gave my cancellation, that means my insurance policy still active and I don't know what is going to happen with my reimbursement. I'm expecting 100% of it because when I cancelled it I was in 30 days period. And, that is not the end. The previous reviews made me nervous to even make the 3 hour drive to Grapevine for a vehicle; so I stopped at another dealership 2 hours from home and it was catastrophic to say the least! Be careful - these guys are sharks. I know (I've been driving for a few decades and know cars) that you should never take your car to a dealership for service. Grapevine Honda has reminded me that this truth still exists. My Acura MDX had an alternator fail not far from the dealership, so against my better judgement, I towed the car to Grapevine Honda. It was a classic alternator fail and all I needed was a new one. I knew the dealership would cost a little more than any other shop, and I was ok with a reasonable mark-up. As my car was being dropped off, Andrew in Service told me there would be a $189 "diagnostic fee," which is the dealer's way of saying " we will look for everything we can find to fix on your car and get back to you." I expected this as part of dealing with a dealership, and OK'd the fee. They said they would get back to me later on or the next day. The next morning, I received a text saying a tech has been assigned to my car and that it was in the bay. HOURS went by and later in the afternoon, I called them for an update. They said "We are still looking at it and will get back to you." "OK, sometime today?" "Oh definitely today." Later that day, I received another text saying they would need until the NEXT day. This is all for an alternator, which I know is bad and is taking them TWO DAYS to diagnose. I need to mention that their Sales team called me asking if I wanted to trade in my car for a new one. NO. I don't want to give you my good-working vehicle so I can sign up for financing a new $50k car at 7% over 84 months.... Give me a break. All for an alternator, which should cost less than $1000. The Sales Dept also followed up with a text - "Don't forget about us - we want your money" So the NEXT day, Andrew in Service told me without hesitation that the alternator would cost me $1700.00! That's more than TWICE what it should cost, and that's even with a dealership markup. I promptly towed my car to another shop and had the work done SAME DAY for $800 total - parts, labor and tax. DO NOT take your car to Grapevine Honda. They only want your money, are shameless and will NEVER see one of my cars again (I have 5). Not only that, but they haven't done a THING to change the stereotype of "car dealers are slimy and will take advantage of you any way they can." When I removed my car from their lot, I had to pay the $189 fee that I agreed to, but if they actually had a technician on my car for a day and a half, and it only cost me $200, they actually lost money on me. I'm fine with that. I truly hope they lose as much on others and maybe they will learn.... Do yourself and your bank account a favor - look around, go someplace else. Do not trust this dealership. EDIT - Christian (Service Manager) reached out to me. He offered a sincere apology about my experience and had very good customer service skills. I appreciate the phone call and pleasant conversation about an unpleasant topic. It would be nice to see this kind of care and concern across all levels of the business, less BS, and a true willingness to help get your car back on the road rather than looking for every way to take money from customers. I dread going to dealerships for anything, but they are occasionally a necessary evil. Today I went for a second visit to this place in order to get an important software update. I mean, who wouldn't want their car to start again after an idle stop? My service advisor, Howard, was extremely professional. The wait time, though - I had a 10:00 appointment for what I was told was a 15-minute service. Time out the door - 11:20. The first time I came here a couple of years ago, I waited over 5 hours for what I was told would be a 3-hour service. Just to update the review regarding my road trip - the car handled Desert Hot Springs with aplomb and handled some steep inclines I've never ever attempted. The full time 4WD is great but the locking differential on loose gravel and dirt made light work of the climb. Car is 100% stock - no lift and no overland gear (yet) and this trip was a blast. Also, when you're traveling at elevations higher than Texas' (which isn't hard to do) the mileage improves significantly. Once we got out of Texas and into New Mexico, the car got 28 mpg to Flagstaff and between 24-26 down to Redlands, CA. In Los Angeles (taking the 10 to the 101 and later the 210 back home) I got about 22 mpg. In Texas I'm lucky if I break 18 (which makes me wonder what the heck, Texas?!). Oh... and the LA mileage included climbing the Hollywood Hills (Mulholland nearly to Clearwater Canyon) and I got 21 mpg on my excursion from Redlands to Desert Hot Springs. Seriously, go figure the poor Texas mileage... I wouldn't hesitate to buy another vehicle from Grapevine Honda. Heading home, we got 25 mpg from Redlands to Lake Havasu City and 26-27 from LHC to Albuquerque. read more

I leased a car from this location. This is my experience. I get cold called when my car needs to be serviced. I also get emails and texts. I use the link in one of the emails to schedule the service and make selections for all of the options. After I schedule the appointment, I continue to get calls, texts, and emails because the system doesn't register that I have already scheduled a service. I had been driving an older car with high mileage and knew I needed replace in the near future. My intent had been to save some money and pay cash for a car or, at least, have a hefty down payment. Oh, man, where to start? First, we bought a used van from this dealership. The finance bit was such a joke. The sales rep kept doing the running back-and-forth thing after I told him the numbers I expected. He left and came back about 4 or 5 times. Each time, I held my ground and said, "I'm not signing that." I told him I know my credit score from all 3 bureaus and my FICO score, there's no way I'm paying over $500 on a $16K used vehicle so he can go talk to who he needs to b/c I'm not paying more than $350/mo and we're not dragging these payments out forever either. Got to the finance guy- was able to get payments plus an extended warranty for less than my max monthly price. Playing games like we're living in the 90's... After signing, I was told the van was being taken to the back to be detailed, so we waited. After taking possession of the vehicle, it took a few days to notice that the van was filthy! There was gunk on part of the stick shift that isn't visible at the driver's angle, the beige seatbelts (all 8 of them) were tinged with dirt, I found a oddly large quantity of toothpicks in the sunglasses holder, an opened (and presumably spat out) peppermint in the center console, dirt caked around the edges of practically everything and to top it off, a horrendous smell began coming out of the carpets. I'm assuming the deodorizer spray had worn off. I am convinced these carpets were never cleaned, especially after seeing all the dirt that came out when I washed them. In addition, I started hearing noises while driving that would get worse as I was coasting down a hill. I had a buddy of mine's mechanic brother take a look and it turns out, THEY DIDN'T SCREW THE WHEELS BACK ON!!! The noise was getting progressively worse because the lug nuts were so loose, the wheels were close to coming off. Can you imagine if I were on the highway when that happened? If my van hit a family or injured mine??!?! My husband called and gave him a piece of his mind. They offered something ridiculous like a free oil change and their apologies. I have a repair that needs to be done under the warranty but I'm afraid to bring it back. I received crappy service, finance runaround, a poor job with cleaning and maintenance safety issues. Sharing my experience with you. I would like to introduce myself as Dhinesh and I have a 2023 white Honda CRV from Grapevine Honda dealership, that I purchased on 24th April this year. I had visited the dealership yesterday for oil change as it was 6 months & 5100 miles. I was speaking with the service advisor and he communicated that your oil percentage is 30% and come back when it's 10% or less. I was always told it's 5000 miles (or) 6 months whichever comes first. I called up atleast twice before going for service and nobody ever told me that it has to be 10% or below. I told him that I cannot come again and pls get the oil changed. Meanwhile I was speaking with my salesperson in-charge. I told him about the wireless charging not working in my car and he said it happens for very rare vehicles which you can kinda trade off since the vehicle is good. Let me clarify I paid for these upgrades and there is no way I am compromising. He further added that "we listen atleast and if it was your home country, they would have just sweeped you off". It was just ridiculous that he made that statement. I am so offended and disappointed of my experience at the dealership. It took me sometime even to process what he said. I am writing this review on behalf of my 20-year-old daughter. She recently purchased a 2020 Honda Civic (~58K miles). She bought it on June 9th and drove 5 miles to our home, and it sat in the driveway for the next week until she was ready to go back to college. The A/C did not work (they claimed she must of hit something on the road that caused it to stop working). We brought it back and they kept the car for 3 days to check for a leak which they did not find and likely just added more freon. Not to worry, they were so kind as to make sure it was covered by the warranty. Whatever. Guess what a few days later the A/C doesn't blow cold air again. You can go there and all the guys pile on the charm and act as though they will fix it, but they don't actually fix it. She spent 20K on a car with no A/C. I am going to blast them on social media until this gets resolved because it's just wrong they knowingly sold a car without A/C. I am normally a big fan of Honda but would avoid this dealership at all costs. If they have any integrity, they will attempt some service recovery here. read more

If i could rate this dealership lower than 1 star I would. I was promised a free transmission service when I bought the car as it was almost 30,000 miles overdue. And after contacting my salesperson Alex less than a month from date of purchase, I received no response. I spoke with the manager Derrick and he said he didn't recall when he was there in agreement on a service. I came in today to get my car serviced and spoke to Derrick as Alex was not there and he went back on his word. I also let him know that my car did not come with a jack on a certified pre owned car. He replaced it and when I gave him "attitude" he removed it from my car. I asked for his boss and his response was "I am the boss". Hope the real owner can handle this in a more appropriate, mature, and respectful manner. Horrible manager, inexperienced salesman, and overall horrible customer service. He also came to be about every 30 mins with an update on my vehicle. Which I loved! It made my time go by quicker. I work remotely, so I was able to work here. The wifi was great, the coffee and snack were also a nice touch. Not to mention this place is very clean and comfy. All the employees here were kind and spoke just because they walked by. Bought a used Jeep in Sept '22, the buying process went fine; pushy sales people but its sales so that much is baked into the cake. The reason for my negative review is my experience with these guys after they got my money. The do not respond to voicemails, and even when I showed up in person to request information that would take 5 minutes to provide, they sat me in a chair and had me wait for over an hour and a half before I gave up and went home. If you are not there to add to their bottom line then they have no time for you. Me and my fiancé came in today 12/9 looking at Honda CR-Vs for her and prefaced that we were hoping to buy a car today but we're planning to shop some numbers and come back. Armani helped us and at first was very helpful with facts about the cars. He seemed to then later become a little emotional when seeing that we were slightly displeased with him when asking questions about numbers. Made an appointment to test drive a vehicle, when I got there, the manager told my sales guy there's another person coming to look at the same vehicle in an hour. I said well I'm here first and we're gonna put down a good amount of $.The sales guy kept going back to his manager and pretty much said that they won't let me test drive until this other person comes in because there's a higher chance that the other person will purchase the vehicle. First of all that sounds like racial profiling and second of all why do you think I'm here ?? To purchase a vehicle!! If there isn't a deposit on the vehicle then it's up for grabs in my opinion. Example, I had an appt next day at another dealership and they told me the morning of, another person purchased it. That's the way it should be ,first come first serve. Sounds like the manager might've been holding the vehicle for a friend, which is fine, then they should've been honest from the start. However, I found out the GPS didn't work right away, and the Salesperson said Grapevine Honda services could upgrade the software and install the GPS easily. After I brought the car back to Grapevine Honda to upgrade the software, I was told by the Services person that they couldn't do it, but that I could get it fixed easily by any Lexus dealership and the expense would be covered by the extended warranty. After bringing the car to a Lexus dealership, I was finally told the truth: the model didn't come with the GPS and it isn't possible to update the software, I was going to have to spend over a grand to install Carplay if I wanted a GPS. If I had known the GPS wasn't included in the car, I would not have bought that car. For the whole time, the Salespeople promised the software could be easily updated and have the GPS installed at no additional cost, and made me believe that wouldn't be an issue. I feel deceived by Grapevine Honda as they never disclosed the car wasn't equipped with GPS. After I brought the issue up, they just shuffled me around to avoid accountability. I even talked to the GM Mayor Patel who was rude and said how could they know the car wasn't included the GPS. Clearly, they are incompetent and will say anything, even lies, just to make the sale. This was a very bad experience with Grapevine Honda as the salespeople are not honest and don't care about the customers. The GM has no accountability as he won't stand by the car he sold. I never received a license plate, and when I told them about it they sent me an invalid usps tracking number & want me to pay for another license plate. They are very unprofessional, i wouldnt go here unless you are prepared To get scammed. read more

Go to the other Japanese car dealership in Grapevine, and you'll ask yourself why this one has very few clientele hanging around on a Saturday afternoon. The agent assigned to us was miffed about a late show-up, and called us rude for not giving him enough time plus a lecture on how buying a car is not the same as buying a t-shirt - this standing in 102F in the parking lot. Well done. Not only did you lose one customer, you'll lose many more based on Yelp reviews. Speaking with the experience of someone working in a customer-facing role, refusing to provide information about merchandise, and calling them names shows you'll never make it in Sales. Tried to talk to them about buying a vehicle. They had a very overpriced Toyota Rav4, but I gave them a chance to offer a more reasonable price. They had it offered online for $23,348. I said I would be ready to buy at a more reasonable price. (The car has been wrecked TWICE and is from PA "rust belt") They responded with a price EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS HIGHER than advertised!!!!
