    Tasting cheeses
    Lori A.

We did the wine and cheese experience. It was different than I thought with using tongs to grab a cheese. The cheeses were excellent, the descriptions was provided on a list. I would have loved to hear someone describe the cheese or talk more about their shop. I think the cheese and wine experience was awesome for the cost, but I'd love a more personal experience at the cheese shop, that's how you get return customers.

The Owner that waits on me, always helps me choose great tasting cheese. The pickles are good and I can't wait to try the jelly! She also saves my purchases, so when I go back-she can remind me what cheeses I bought and liked. I try to stop in when I am in the area. If you need a charcuterie tray made, she can help you make good choices for your tray. I made a mini one tonight. I enjoyed it so much. Keep up the good work! Support small businesses please!

    My take home #1

I'll admit. We're cheeseheads at our house. And if you are a wannabe cheese snob, this is where you'll want to get the goods. Get it? Goods....Grater Goods...nevermind. Currently, you can find the national winning American cheese two years in a row (Made in Vermont) for under $22 take home. Found this out on their social media page and will have to pick that one up next time. For the lactose intolerant, there are plenty of goat cheeses to get and if cows are your deal, there are even more hard & soft cheeses as well as semi softs to satisfy your palate. Grater Goods has some of the most sought after cheeses from around the world that you're not going to find at your local Publix and that's what makes this place so special. And the prices here are even competitive with large markets in town for their specialties. The owner is always there to impart her cheesy knowledge and slice out a sample for you to try. We probably tried close to our cut off amount, but ended up taking home a few to enjoy at home. Definitely appreciate the cheese inventory we found here. Overall, there's so much more available besides cheese in this shop and an excellent place to pick up a few gifts or order your custom charcuterie for any occasion. Plus it's so convenient there's a wine store next door.

    Inside the store

This is an amazing store, with artisan American cheese's & incredible cheeses from around the world, I've easily referred over 200 people to this business, the owner is a charm and full of knowledge, as she gets to know you & what you like, with passion she will suggest new things to try. Uber clean, and all sorts of things to buy, probably the best cheese shop in Florida and I mean it!!

Top to bottom: Thomasville Thome, barley swine salame, Daikin Dairy spicy cheddar, Lomo, and rocket's robiola

This place is amazing! I cannot wait to come back! I came looking for some meat and cheese for a charcuterie board I was making and I wanted something different from what Publix or other grocery stores sell. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted though. When I walked in the owner greeted me with a warm greeting and let me look around without being too overbearing. Within a minute I wanted everything. There were a bunch of amazing looking flavored honeys, crackers, jams, and of course, meats and cheeses. Everything you'd need to make the ultimate meat and cheese board. Eventually I asked for her recommendations and she was more than willing to help me. I told her an idea of what I wanted and for how many people and she recommended some and let me taste each one! Everything she recommended was perfect and sooo delicious. I ended up getting the Thomasville Thome (a great hard cheese that is easy to eat and goes with anything), Robert's Robiola (an excellent soft cheese), Daikin's Dairy Spicy Cheddar (awesome spicy twist to cheddar), Lomo (smoked pork loin, super yum), and Barley Swine Salame (wonderful salami that pairs great with my picks). It's also located next to a wine shop so it makes for a great stop for all your wine and cheese needs. I highly recommend stopping here and trying out some of the options. I will definitely be back!

Vacation spread made with cheese from Grater Goods. Get the AGED GOUDA!!!
    Jo El S.

"Picnic Row" is the area on Edgewood Ave recently dubbed by an article on Bloom Reality. Indeed, after you load up gourmet cheese and charcuterie from Grater Goods you can hop right next door to Bernie's Wine Shop to pair wine with your newly acquired picnic goodies! Why Grater Goods rocks: * The owner Jennifer Harvey lets you TRY any cheese in the store to see if you like it before purchasing and gives stellar recommendations based on your preferences. * If you don't want to purchase the entire portion of cheese, no problem! She will cut it down to size based on your budget. * The owner SAVES the information on your purchases so on future visits you don't have to have memory like an Elephant to remember the name of that fantastic stilton with apricot. * She also frequently has cheese and wine tasting events on Friday evenings! Do yourself a favor and get the Reypenaer V.S.O.P! This aged Gouda explodes in your mouth to give you visions of angelic singing on the mountaintops in the Netherlands. It is seriously one of the best cheeses I have ever had! We were extremely happy with our purchase and made a wonderful "Vacation spread" for a romantic date! http://www.bloomrealty.com/blog/murray-hills-picnic-row-

What I thought was a whole chicken, turned out to be some sort of chicken the hispanic community buys for soups or stews. I baked it and threw it out it was so nasty. I called the corporate office and was told it was not a roasting chicken. How was I to know. Their chicken wings still have feathers on them here and there, again Nasty! They buy their chickens from a farm somewhere in Georgia I believe but the safety of shipping chickens is very important. Once I bought what they said was Mayport shrimp, previously frozen. After opening the package the odor was too strong, which tells me the shrimp is not edible and can be dangerous. If you demand quality, Publix is still the best choice. The staff is totally oblivious. They cannot answer any questions, they will also tell you the same story.."we are expecting a truck anytime now, sorry we ran out" Same line over and over. Guess they are trained to lie to their customers to keep them coming back. I bought eggs, several had two yolks, sorry but that's weird to me. Threw them out as well. The crowds are out of control, they do not care if they block the very small isles, if they push and grab, they are mostly foreign customers as I have noticed the meat, vegetables and fruits are more geared to their culture. That's fine but train your staff to be knowledgeable and helpful. I also find the parking lot littered with trash at times, especially in the grassy areas. Not a class act for sure!

Not in a bad way, but in that unmistakable health-food-store aroma that tells you there are herbs, oils, supplements, organic everything, and probably someone blending wheatgrass in the back with spiritual conviction. I walked in thinking I'd grab a couple of health bars or maybe a smoothie, and suddenly I found myself in what felt like a live-action documentary about modern hippie culture. Real hippies. I'm talking long dreads, natural fabrics, calm serene smiles, and an energy that says they own a crystal collection and know each crystal by name. The vibe inside was amazing. Everyone looked like they were on their own personal wellness quest, floating around the aisles with purpose, shopping carts full of things I didn't even know existed. I felt like I needed to level up spiritually just to stand near the kombucha section. And the café area had this cozy, earthy coolness to it that almost convinced me to sit down and contemplate the meaning of life over a smoothie bowl.
