I wouldn't be from the neighborhood if I just strolled by this staple and did not offer my words of praise. I still remember the jolt of fresh air that caught my soul when this spot first opened up. A great pizza shop on the corner of my residence? It doesn't get any more Brooklyn than this. Over the past year I have had the pleasure to sample several different slices at this neighborhood spot and I can say with absolute certainty that it always hits the spot no matter the mood or the moment I'm in. I particularly want to sing high praise to the Sicilian slices. The dough on those is the airiest, crispiest and lightest breading on a Sicilian slice I have ever had. My favorite offering has to be the vodka Sicilian slice (I am quite partial to vodka sauce) and the one here is a beautiful airy marriage of creamy vodka sauce on a beautiful light dough. Crisped to perfection and delivering an orgasm on every bite, it is arguably their best slice. The other slice offerings here aren't too far behind. The margarita is dotted with a sauce that I would say is more on the tangier side. Cheese is stringy and chewy in corners, melted just right in other places. My one complaint is that I wish the slices were heated up to a higher temperature, they do get cold if you're working through more than one slice. Staff is super friendly, accommodating and kind. The lunch deal is an absolute steal, even though I've never availed it myself. The seating area is clean and breezy on a beautiful sunny day, with Sinatra style tunes playing unapologetically transporting you back to the old school Italian version of Brooklyn we all love and reminisce about. This place attracts customers from all walks of life, everyone has a place here and that's what makes this shop a true neighborhood institution. If you are in sunset park, come by here and grab a slice! You won't be disappointed!! read more

I was very pleased with a catering order I placed for an event. We ordered large trays of calamari, penne with vodka sauce, linguini with clam sauce, chicken parm, eggplant parm, and buffalo wings. They were very nice and gave us two pizzas and garlic bread for free with our order. All of the food was hot and delicious. I never had such high quality food when doing large catering orders so I was pleasantly surprised. I will definitely be doing more catering orders from them going forward. Everything was clearly and nicely labeled, and they provided us with plates, cups, and utensils. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for your catering needs! read more

Have been seeing this spot on my way to class and finally stopped in to try a slice! It's on the main with outdoor and indoor seating. I did not see an official menu posted with offerings and pricing, but they do have paper menus near the register. As we were waiting for our two buffalo chicken and a plain slice to be heated up, a few other customers came in. It was nice to see the warm dynamic between the pizza shop staff and the customers. Feels local :) Our slices were just right. Crusty and chewy in all the right places. The slices average about $5 a slice. They are a bit thicker than I am used to, and it was more filling. Each slice was a different size, which made me laugh. Maybe some consistency there would be helpful. They also offer a full menu of sandwiches, pastas, salads and beverages. read more

Came here for lunch with my husband and daughter. My husband suggested this pizzeria because he orders from here with the company he works for. I wonder why it's called Gravesend Pizza although it's not in Gravesend. I liked the sign inside because I'm from Gravesend, Brooklyn. The pizza was good. I ordered the vodka and bbq chicken slices. They were very crispy. I didn't love the bbq slice, it was a little spicy for me and in comparison to other bbq chicken slices I've had it wasn't as tasty. My husband had grandma slices and my daughter enjoyed her margarita pizza. We had a nice family lunch together. read more

Never been in the store. I ordered a Sicilian vodka pie for delivery. It came quick but they accidentally sent a round pie instead. That was my first time ever ordering any type of vodka pizza. I consider myself an avid pizza eater and I must say it was flipping delicious! I'll be ordering again. "Round vodka sauce pie!". I'll stop in this week and pull a slice off the counter!! We came here after walking around in the area. The store was spacious and had ample seating area inside and outside. The restaurant had tons of pizza options available. I had ordered a large cheese pizza but had to wait a few minutes because they had none available. It didn't take more than 20 minutes for the pizza to be ready. My friend ordered a vodka pizza slice and I tasted half. It was delicious and tasty. It was filled with flavor and had the perfect amount of sauce to cheese. The plain cheese pizza came out piping out. It was a good size and had a good amount of cheese and sauce. The sauce was fresh and looked like homemade tomato sauce. However, it lacked flavor and tasted bland. It had no salt or seasoning once so ever. I am not sure if its because they were rushing to make the pie that they forgot the spice or if that's how it is made. I wouldn't come back for the plain cheese but I would get another vodka if I was in the area. Bring cash as they charge a fee for credit cards. read more

Now one of my top 5 pies in the city! Had one marg and one vodka regular triangle slice. I only post a review every 5 years or so so you know it's good. What really stood out about the pizza was the bread which wasn't doughy at all. It was like a thicker cracker texture but not thin. The way the sauce and cheese sat on the bread was perfect. The owner (I think he was owner anyways) was also very friendly and inviting. That's why I prefer the non-heavily gentrified authentic pizza shops in Southern BK to anything else in gentrified NYC/BK. Easily the best slice shop I've had in years read more

One day of grave hunting, leads to an afternoon lunch at the appropriately named, or rather coincidentally named, Gravesend Pizza. Upon walking in, one will notice there is nowhere really to sit, as it is mostly a takeout pizza joint. As Johnny Cash music blares through the restaurant, you see that it is much like a pizzeria of old, with slices, pies, and Italian entrees for you to pick from. Make no mistake, the pizza is the star. It is nothing to write home about, but it is solid, which is why I bookmarked it. Crispy crust, nice sauce, and a good amount of cheese. It comes out quick, which might also explain why finding it was a challenge. I also got a white slice, which is a bit bland and dense. That is okay, I will do plain every time. I also ordered a broccoli rabe, sausage, and rigatoni dish. The sausage is delicious, but everything else was over cooked. It did not help that they served my dish with plastic ware, making it incredibly cumbersome to eat. I lastly observed they deliver, so because of the decent experience, I took a menu with me and hope to order here again without all the hassle. read more

It's a nice pizzeria, not far from the BQE. If you're in a rush to get pizza and you feel your options are limited, this will do the trick. They have standard pizzeria food. Their staff is nice. Going here would not be a mistake. read more

These dudes are dope. Sauce is properly sweet but what impressed me the most was how well the pizza held upon being delivered. I've had a lot of soggy pizza delivered in my days but these dudes bring their A game. Pepperoni is dat quality pepperoni that curls, which is exactly what it's supposed to do. Next level - like 1 up - from the classic NY slide. Well first because they also have this really nice thick crust - make sure to choose the corner (worth it!). I ordered the classic Margherita thick crush (the thin looked a little dense but I'll try it next time.). Great flavor - more than just tomato - and a nice skim mozzarella that's chewy but not greasy. Right on the corner of 4th and 34th. Worth a stop for sure. Slice just under $5. Atmosphere - a couple small cramped table if you really want to sit. Clean place. Counter more upscale. read more

Conveniently located right up from the subway on 34th and 4th, this place was super clean and friendly. I ordered a slice and they offered me a second slice of their famous "grandma slice" on the house. They said it was their speciality and I highly recommend it. Fresh tomatoes and house-made sauce. So far so good! Easily a new gem in the neighborhood. Gravesend opened maybe a month ago and my coworkers have gotten lunch from here several times already! I've personally tried their grandma slice, vodka sicilian, and chicken parm panini. The grandma slice is thin, crispy, and crunchy. The vodka pizza is soft, light, and doughy. The chicken parm is your classic chicken parm so can't go wrong there. All were fresh and the place has a local feel. read more

The NY corner slice joint is slowly fading from the landscape in favor of more bougie pizza spots or (gag) dollar pizza. Luckily, Gravesend Pizza refuses to let the legacy die by serving the community as (literally) a corner slice joint on 4th and 34th. I went with a plain slice and a grandma slice to get acclimated with their style and yes, both were very tasty with an excellent, tender-firm-to-the-bite crust. My grandma slice, though, seemed a bit different than the usual grandma styles to be found around the borough, absent of minced garlic or breadcrumbs and with the same sauce used for their plain pies instead of the usual homestyle marinara. This is not to say it isn't delicious, just a departure from the norm. My plain slice was fantastic--a true New York slice that folded with ease, tasted fresh, and inspired me to spontaneously do the Travolta Saturday Night Fever walk when leaving the place. Cue the Bee Gees! One major point of contention with Gravesend is there are no prices listed anywhere inside. This is not a mortal sin for a new business but it would help in making decisions with what to order. read more

This place is getting 5 stars after tonight. I wasn't feeling to great and I was crazy hungry. My wife walked me here to get a few slices and boy was it an amazing pick me up. Hot NYC Cheese Slices and a Grandma later, I feel like a Million bucks. I love old school pizza like this, plus the Grandma at the end. This hit the spot and now we have a new pizza place for slices. We order from Gravesend at least once a week, but, if I COULD I'd eat here every day! I'm not sure how ANYONE could leave anything less than a 5-star review because when it comes to pizza, they have it down to a science. In a sea of mediocre pizza places on every block, this is easily the best pizza both myself and my husband have ever had in our lives. The ingredients are fresh, everything is made in house and the pizza is always a perfect crispy to fluffy ratio. If you love sauce, get the upside down pie - it's to die for! Easily my fave. Their margarita and vodka pies are amazing as well. We've tried most of their pizza, and it's all delicious, but we rotate between ordering these 3. We have also tried some of their pasta dishes, chicken francese and their meatballs, all great! The staff are friendly and always helpful at the register. You can tell they take a lot of pride in their shop, it is spotless, clean and tidy. Can eat inside if there's a table available, or can eat outside. Don't think twice - just go! read more

I found myself in the Greenwood Heights neighborhood today and I was in the mood for Pizza. I stopped into Gravesend Pizza and I ordered two slices. The space is neat, and the bathroom was clean. My slices were tasty and the crust was firm. I thought that there was too much Basil on the slices. A note to Pizzeria owners in Brooklyn: Nobody wants to listen to the oldies station anymore. Two slices of Pizza and a soda cost $10 for cash. There is an upcharge if you pay by card. Thank U next! read more

I came to the area for Daiso and happened to walk by on my commute home. I ordered a cheese slice then asked if they had veggie slices (didn't see any). The cashier warmly told me that they would make it for me, THEN the owner came by as I was waiting and gave me a complimentary focaccia. I'm telling you, it was even MORE delicious than their delicious slices. The dough was crispy with body and the sauce, perfect with a nice hint of garlic. The veggie slice I got was made with tomatoes, red onions, broccoli, and the most perfectly baked eggplant slices (breaded). The pictures really don't do it justice. The staff was just incredibly kind to everyone who walked in and the place was so clean and well-taken cared of. I recommend this 1000X over--taking my bf next weekend! This location is located at the base of a new(ish) residential building and I found myself thinking about how great it would be to have a Taïm right downstairs from where I lived! The interior is an open space with bright colors and light wood decor that is comforting and welcoming at the same time. To the right is a small counter at the window and there are seats to the left. Further on towards the right is a counter where you order via a screen. Near that is the "pick up" shelf for online orders. The counter and kitchen are towards the back. Overall it is a nice set up. Of course, the question one asks when visiting a franchise location is: is the food as good as I remember from the original? I am happy to report it IS! Here's what I had: Green Falafel This is the traditional falafel that first had me fall in love with Taïm. It is made to order so it is fresh. The outside is nice and crisp while the inside is still soft (but not chewy). The flavor is on point thanks to some fantastic seasoning. She then held the plastic top to the container my meal was served in and said "well, this is plastic" implying that there was no difference between something being served IN plastic and plastic being MIXED IN my food.
