I came here yesterday and was helped my Marjorie who was the absolute sweetest. She was soft spoken, kind, goes the extra mile, and you can tell she cares not only about her job but she really cares about the ppl that come in which you don't often find in hospitality settings. Then when Marjorie went on break I was assisted by Junior! This was one of the worst and most humiliating experiences I've ever had at a business. I politely asked to use the restroom and clearly said I would purchase something. I really just needed to use the bathroom and couldn't hold it. Instead of responding respectfully, the employee physically pushed me. I told her not to touch me, but she pushed me again. Then the manager came over and started yelling at me as well, which made the situation even more upsetting. I was not being aggressive or disrespectful in any way I was simply asking to use the restroom and was ready to buy something. I have never felt so disrespected and uncomfortable in a place like this. No one should be treated this way. If the restroom is not available, that can be communicated politely. There is absolutely no excuse for physical contact and shouting at a customer. This was completely unacceptable behavior from both staff and management. He goes with his lecturing tone of voice this is a restaurant and u are one person that's a 10 people table am I going to lose 10 customers cause of one customer. I was literally in shock how he spoke to me. I am not at a fancy 5 star restaurant I don't expect no superior service. In other words I was kicked out of my seat cause I was by myself, a minority female or cause I am not the ideal privilege group in their case is their annual tourists or marathon runners, orrr this establishment need to train their worker. The next time I go to a pizzeria I will ask if the bigger tables are RESERVED for bigger groups only and there are no smaller tables available. There were no big party waiting for a big table, If party of 9 came to ask if any body was sitting on the table that I was I would have gladly let the other party sit there. Not a bad spot for pizza and Italian eats in Coney Island. Located on Surf Ave across the street from the boardwalk it's an alternative to grabbing a slice at one of the many small food joints here. Food here is just okay. It is very easy to get to as it is just off the West 8th St/New York Aquarium station on the F/Q lines. You could also walk the extra 5 minutes from Coney Island/Stillwell Ave station on the above lines, as well as the D/N lines. They sell pizza here, and the pizza is solidly okay. The slice has a nice marriage of cheese and sauce, but it could use to be cooked a little longer. It is a floppy slice and the crust is a bit too chewy for my liking. I also got a potato and egg hero. This was pretty filling! They basically use eggs and French fries and combine the two of them to form a delicious sandwich. It is a big sandwich and contains a lot of both potatoes and eggs. I was surprised at how big it is. For that nice summer evening after a day at the beach, if you want a change from Nathan's, this will work nicely. Especially if you do not like hot dogs. Pizza was delicious-flavorful, scrumptious with an amazing crunchy but soft crust and lots of yummy cheese, so was the chicken roll which was so enormous, I wasn't able to eat it all and took the 2nd half home. Today I tried a slice of thin crust because it was when they opened and no Sicilian slices had been put out yet. It was generously covered with cheese and had a not too thin crunchy crust. No indication of how to seat your party or how to order. Staff ignore you as you wander the lobby looking for instruction. When I asked a staff member what the process was, he told me to pick a place to sit. We had to ask a staff memeber to take our order after passing us many times over. 25 minutes for our server to bring us our canned pepsi and straws. 1. Lady with 4 kids has to ask staff to clean table 2. Couple waiting for cheque attempts to get staff attention and just give up and go to counter to ask to pay for meal 3. The interior is quaint and the service is friendly. For a restaurant run by non-Italians, we were surprised by how taste their pizza and calzones were. The only downside was that the pizza and calzone were very salty, and I usually have a high salt tolerance. Otherwise, the pizza and calzone were plenty flavorful. The pizzas are thinner than what we're used to (not sure if this is NY style?). They do not skimp out on toppings either at this restaurant. Every inch of the pizza is full of toppings. The calzones were quite literally stuffed to the brim with toppings and even tho my fiance and I thought we didn't order enough, we were plenty full with our meal.
