Surf City is the best restaurant after a half marathon!! It has been my 3rd year eating here after Brooklyn Half and it does not disappoint! Location: It is located in Coney Island. Right in front of Cyclone. There a lot of seatings inside and outside! Service: the staff were nice, they are very attentive and give us recommendations. Food: The food is always good! 3 years I have been going here and everything was delicious. PENNE ALA VODKA with SHRIMP: it is probably my favorite! The pasta is cooked al dente and the sauce was just delicious! They topped it with grilled shrimp and it was the perfect addition to the sauce! MARGHERITA PIZZA: best type of pizza here for me! The crust is crispy and cooked properly. The sauce and mozzarella is delicious. 1 slice and I'm already full. SPAGHETTI with MEATBALLS: very authentic! The meatballs is juicy and flavorful inside. The sauce is af course tomato base and tangy. The pasta again is cooked al dente! Price rating: 6/10. To be honest the price is not bad for authentic Italian food. I will definitely come back here to try other food!

Super cute pizza place that matches the whole Coney Island vibe! Pizza was great! Service was friendly and helpful!

The table at the end is where I was sitting, no one is sitting there when I was walking out. Reserved?

Their food is ok I mean nothing special definitely can find better pizza in Brooklyn. Price wise 2 regular slice and a can coke $10. It's Coney Island whatever in the colder/ cooler months they are cheaper I think. I guess that's the only way they can survive in Coney Island price goes up in the warmer months and cheaper in the colder months. I am local in the neighborhood I get pizza here when I don't want to cook. Do I really sit and have pizza? No since my house is close by. However it will be LAST TIME EVER coming to this establishment. Today 5/17 Brooklyn half marathon since I have something to do on surf Ave. and I had some time to eat before I go run my errands. I decided to go get pizza and sit down since it was a warm day. No seats were available so there's a few bar tables no chairs tho. But whatever I stood there ate few bites I saw an empty table walked and sat down. I was just going to eat and get going. If I didn't have plantar fasciitis (permanent heel pain) I wouldn't mind standing and eat. The bus boy manager, I believe or whatever he is cause this is a self serve establishment, like fast food restaurant . Did a waiter served me ? "NO" did a hostess bring me to my table with a menu "NO" this SURF CITY employee came to me and said this table is reserved can you sit somewhere else? I am like where am I sitting ? He points at the bar. I got up and walked to the bar with my pizza and soda . I asked him since when pizzeria have reserved table ? He goes with his lecturing tone of voice this is a restaurant and u are one person that's a 10 people table am I going to lose 10 customers cause of one customer. I was literally in shock how he spoke to me. I am not at a fancy 5 star restaurant I don't expect no superior service. In other words I was kicked out of my seat cause I was by myself, a minority female or cause I am not the ideal privilege group in their case is their annual tourists or marathon runners, orrr this establishment need to train their worker. The next time I go to a pizzeria I will ask if the bigger tables are RESERVED for bigger groups only and there are no smaller tables available. There were no big party waiting for a big table, If party of 9 came to ask if any body was sitting on the table that I was I would have gladly let the other party sit there. Still in shock this establishment allows their employee speak to customer like this. Lost a customer I will make sure my friends and family know about this. Their food is ok there's plenty of better pizzerias in the area that have way better pizza, but for that treatment no thanx i can't even say customer service was bad cause wtf it's f*+*cking self service, a fast food joint. MANAGEMENT PLEASE don't leave a reply saying we are sorry it happened and I should give your pizzeria another try. Other customers saw what happened so did the manager/owner. One star for the manager/owner who tried to convince me not to be mad and gave me a beer I wasn't there for beer tho, I was there to eat my pizza drink my soda minding my own business and be out. Probably woulda took me 20 mins to eat the pizza drink my soda and be out. The picture of the table in the back I was sitting at, when I left still no one sitting there I guess their reserved party still didn't arrive yet

They no longer have the ice cold beer. Came twice specifically for it, yesterday and about 6 months ago. Both times they indicated that they don't have it. The ice cold beer is definitely the draw, without it, it's just another NYC style pizza place.

Not a bad spot for pizza and Italian eats in Coney Island. Located on Surf Ave across the street from the boardwalk it's an alternative to grabbing a slice at one of the many small food joints here. A little pricey but it's a full restaurant experience with a nice setting as compared to walking around with a slice on a paper plate.

Food here is just okay. It is very easy to get to as it is just off the West 8th St/New York Aquarium station on the F/Q lines. You could also walk the extra 5 minutes from Coney Island/Stillwell Ave station on the above lines, as well as the D/N lines. They sell pizza here, and the pizza is solidly okay. The slice has a nice marriage of cheese and sauce, but it could use to be cooked a little longer. It is a floppy slice and the crust is a bit too chewy for my liking. I also got a potato and egg hero. This was pretty filling! They basically use eggs and French fries and combine the two of them to form a delicious sandwich. It is a big sandwich and contains a lot of both potatoes and eggs. I was surprised at how big it is. For that nice summer evening after a day at the beach, if you want a change from Nathan's, this will work nicely. Especially if you do not like hot dogs. Just keep it in perspective, and you will end up satisfied.

Food came out in no time, the issue for me was the delay in getting my check.. I had to ask for it several times and then when I finally got it, it was someone else's check and my ride was already waiting. This is a convenient location for a quick meal, I'd rate the food a 7, but it was perfect coming from the aquarium, less than 5 minute walk.

Great Pizzeria located in the picturesque Coney Island area right across the street from the infamous Cyclone. It offers a vast selection of all kinds of very appetizing looking pizzas, calzone, stromboli, rolls plus many of traditional Italian dishes. Interesting ambiance, very courteous and friendly staff, young bartender was kind enough to show me all sorts of exotic beers and spirits they have in stock and advised a great one-"Fat Tire" which I never had before but enjoyed tremendously and it was a perfect compliment to the slice of the magnificent Margherita pizza I picked also following an advice of a very pleasant pizza maker plus traditional Italian chicken & cheese roll which was huge and was served with a side dish of the delectable house made marinara sauce. Pizza was delicious-flavorful, scrumptious with an amazing crunchy but soft crust and lots of yummy cheese, so was the chicken roll which was so enormous, I wasn't able to eat it all and took the 2nd half home. All in all-great dining experience, definitely recommend to everyone visiting Luna Park and Coney Island beach to drop by for a refreshing drink and a hearty meal. P. S. They have this intriguingly looking machine with an ancient fortune teller-Zaltar that reminded me of an old movie with Tom Hanks "Big" where similar machine changed young boy's life forever so I couldn't resist and paid Zaltar for the reading, hoping it will change my life too. https://youtu.be/Q6RK4479XD8

I didn't like their pizza. The mushroom & Margherita both have basil, which I don't like. The pizza itself wasn't flavorful enough.

This place does get busy so recommend making reservations if you can. They have a pretty nice wine list to choose from along with different cocktail options. From the start, the food was delicious starting with the house bread which was warm and soft but still felt light. For dinner, I ordered the special for the night which was cacio pepe ravioli, while my husband got the tagliatelle verdi con ragu. Both of our pasta dishes felt extremely fresh. The ravioli was unlike anything Ive had before, with flavorful cacio pepe filling and a butter sauce with pancetta complementing the flavor. The tagliatelle was also delicious in a more ragu centric way, still offering a good balance of flavor. Both dishes were pretty filling and so neither of us could finish it. We ended the night with cannolis, which was a pleasant surprise to find 3 came in 1 order. One side is pistachio while the other had a coco dusting. These were again delicious but pretty filling and sweet so we could only eat one. The staff here was also very friendly and service was quick with food coming out much faster than I expected. Overall I would come back and try even more on their menu.

The bartender was quite friendly, and made me a Piccante (spicy tequila/lime/pineapple situation, with a tajin rim) that was solid. My wife wasn't too hungry, so we only ordered a couple items to share. The Insalata Marzamemi (quinoa, avocado, greens, seared tuna and more), and the ossobuco agnolotti. They brought us some complimentary rosemary bread and oil to dip it. I'm not one to look free bread in the mouth (I think that's the saying), but it was not my favorite bread service. Both the bread and the oil needed salt. But it was warm, and I appreciated the gesture. The salad and pasta were far better. Both were surprisingly large portions for the price (this is NYC in 2026), and paired quite well together. The salad was piled high with fresh ingredients, and there was a nice sear on the tuna. It was only a couple of dollars more than the Greek salad, and a steal. The ossobuco agnolotti with its pecorino fondue and veal sauce was rich, and quite filling. There were at least a 15 of the filled pasta pockets, and well worth the price. All in all, a solid stop for some good portions of Italian food at a good price.

I can't say enough great things about the decor the ambience and imagining all of the past goings on in this restaurant. It's been watching over Brooklyn for well over 100 years now! And that's why the kitchen which is at the very back of the restaurant has full glass windows so that you can see exactly what's going on in there. I guess some of these mob guys were paranoid and rightly so consider considering their history. I arrived with my friend on a Wednesday evening about 6 PM and there were some scattered tables but by 7 PM it was mobbed (pun intended ) in there!! our waiter was affable and patient and a quite enjoyable fellow. As a sidenote, you will not find any female servers they are all male which l lends to the old school vibe in my opinion. My friend ordered the lamb chops with broccoli Rabe. Rating: 3.5/5 I…read morediscovered this restaurant on Instagram as one of the top Italian restaurants in NYC, so I decided to try it. It appeared to be family-owned in Williamsburg and consistently drew a large crowd throughout the day and night. Upon entering, I noticed the restaurant was keen to maximize seating, with diners placed very close to one another. The restaurant appeared to have a very old-school vibe; maybe that was the theme they were going for? The food ordered was: 1. Calamari - They weren't overly fried or coated with breading. Tender, and not rough. Flavorful enough; no sauce was needed (although it was included). A good appetizer. 2. Rigatoni with vodka sauce - Maybe it's my taste buds, but I thought the sauce lacked seasoning and flavor overall. The pasta was cooked well (al dente), but the lack of flavor from the sauce ruined the dish. I was really excited about this dish! 3. Cavatelli with Bolognese Sauce - I've had bolognese sauce before, & this dish was just weird. It felt like they just did it within 5 minutes of cooking time, & it was something you could've just made at home yourself with a jar of Prego sauce. It also lacked seasoning. 4. Chicken Parmigiana - I'm a huge chicken parmigiana fan, and I feel like it's always a must if you eat at any Italian restaurant. This dish was well seasoned, not overly fried, not heavily covered with cheese, and smothered in a good amount of sauce. The chicken wasn't dry either; it was tender. Weird part was it was served with a side of string beans & potatoes, not pasta. This was one of the best dishes of the night. 5. Chicken Marsala - Just like the chicken parmigiana, the chicken was tender & wasn't dry. It's easy to overcook chicken becoming dry, but the two chicken dishes weren't. Very flavorful & a good amount of mushrooms added for garnish. Same with the chicken parm, string beans & potato's as a side and not pasta. 6. Linguine with White Clam Sauce - I'm allergic to shellfish, so I did not try this dish, but my table said it was good. Overall, I thought the food would've been better. The pricing to food portion ratio did not correlate. It's a little on the pricey side for the amount of food you'd get, but maybe it's because of the rent since it is Williamsburg? Another thing, just like another reviewer mentioned, I felt my table was rushed out the door. We weren't even finished eating and we could feel they were eyeing the table (I was with a large party). The waiter who served my table, whose name I didn't catch, was friendly and polite though. Anyways, this is my take on this restaurant. Maybe this is how old school Italian restaurants are supposed to be & in terms of food too. Tip: Reservation recommended for dining in
