WHY DON'T THEY TAKE CARE OF THE SPIDERS? we make a trip annually to Little Compton. We hit aa beach and then Gray's. Its a part of my mother's childhood. SPIDERS just chillin on the ceiling abover ordering. I am not just talking Daddy long legs. I am talking large, with white bellies, SPIDERS! Fearfully they will fall on me as some are just dropping down. Basic flavors except... I have never seen butterscotch on a menu before so I did it! It was delicious. I just love butterscotch! 2 stars due to the overflowing garbage, SPIDERS, mosquitos and lack of seating (they have 2 tables in the dark)

    this was a small!!

My husband and my stepdaughter wanted to try this place, so I decided to joined them . Very friendly staff offered us samples which was always gpod I had a kid size yogurt coffee which was great, not overly sweet and hints of coffee. my husband had a small size black raspberry which was enormous! my stepdaughter had peach. surprised to see bad reviews, they were awesome.

When we first moved to Rhode Island, we took a trip to Tiverton to get a lay of the land. We passed Gray's on a late fall day and remembered a recommendation from a local friend about them, and stopped in for some seasonal scoops. Our first trip, I had the rum raisin ice cream and was delighted with the strong flavor. Hubby had the pumpkin, which was perfect for the fall season, and was also very unapologetic in it's pumpkin spice-ness. We also tried some samples, I sampled the pudding ice cream which was eclectic, and hubby sampled the pistachio, which was pretty good. Once summer returned, so did we to Grey's. We went Memorial day weekend and the place was slammed. I opted for a chocolate malt, which was thick, smooth and perfectly malty, whereas hubby went for a fruit double scoop of blueberry and raspberry. I had never had a blueberry ice cream before, and I was hesitant, but it was truly the best fruit ice cream I've ever had. Prices are good for the quality of the product, and parking is plentiful and easy to access at Tiverton four corners. The stand is staffed by mostly high school students, which I love because it encourages entrepreneurial experience and work ethic training. Grey's is a must-see stop in Tiverton...you won't regret it!

Gray's Ice Cream is a long-time establishment located here in my hometown. I have been coming here since I was a little girl. I can remember back to when I was getting over a cold, or a stomach bug and my parent's asking me if there was anything that I wanted or craved, and I would always look at them and say "Gray's chocolate frappe", so Dad would get me in the car and take me for that shake!! lol (funny how you can remember all the little things in life). Coming here gives people an excuse to drive through our beautiful town, as it's located right in the heart of historic Tiverton Four Corners. Not only will you get some of the most creamy, flavorful homemade ice cream, you will also get to take in all the beautiful sites along the way! They have a pretty big list of homemade flavors including some of my favorites... Peppermint, Coconut, Peanut Butter, Mint Chip, Cookie Dough, Oreo, Blueberry, Butter Krunch, Cherry Vanilla, Maple Walnut, Ginger, Lemon, Strawberry Cheesecake and so many more!!! Be sure to try their Pumpkin & Eggnog Seasonal flavors when they are available too!! Fantastic Frappes, Waffle Cones and Sundaes too!!

When I review, I also take into consideration other places I have purchased the same thing and overall experience. Well, that, and I have had a TON of ice cream experience LOL Prices are maybe a tad higher than other places in the area, BUT cones actually have ice cream inside the cone (last place I went to in town didn't), flavors are good, ice cream is creamy, and waffle cones are FRESH. Service was very quick and overall the experience hit the spot. The only thing I'll note... the flavors are "older". So, for instance, old standbys like black raspberry, pistachio, chocolate, vanilla are on the menu, but of you are craving a cake batter, rocky road, or something similar - it isn't there. What they do have though is solid quality ice cream and service. :) We had the oreo and black raspberry. Black raspberry seems to be a fan favorite- and for good reason. Oreo was good, but not especially creamy. Just not a huge fan, but still good. We will be back again after enjoying a hike in the area I'm sure.

Service was good -- friendly staff and it didn't take long at all to receive our order. I got the Vermont Maple Soft Serve (small) and my son got Oreo on a Chocolate Sprinkle Cone (small). My daughter wanted the Mango Sorbet but they didn't have enough for a small cup. The girl that helped us offered the rest of the Mango combined with the Lemon Sorbet, which we happily took. My daughter was very happy with that accommodation, she was looking forward to the mango! There was plenty of outdoor seating under the tent just off to the side of the building as well as plenty of parking. Just watch for signage -- some parking spots are for the neighboring businesses. This establishment has been here for years and it's definitely a place we will come back to!

The ingredients were actually cooked together and well seasoned making for a cohesive dish rather than one of those bowls that just dumps separate ingredients into a bowl that lacks flavor. Would get this again for sure. My only complaint is that my egg was covered in black specs which appeared to be burnt cast iron residue. The honey lavender scone was also great - nice texture - almost biscuit like tbh, and the lavender flavor was a little too subtle for me to really taste, but I still enjoyed it. The place is cute as well but be warned they don't let you use a laptop here which I'm not a fan of. I didn't have a laptop on me but I know a lot of people like to go to cafes and do some work. The cafe itself is absolutely gorgeous. One of the nicest cafes I've ever seen. Decorated perfectly and had numerous goodies to sell. It was packed but we didn't have trouble finding a place to stand. The menu is pretty limited but that made it easy to choose what we wanted. The employee who served us was very accommodating and friendly. She answered any questions we had with no issues. I ended up ordering a leek quiche and chai tea latte. The total for two drinks, a quiche, and a sandwich came out to $56. Definitely way too pricey to do this often. The food came out quickly. My latte was delicious but for $8 it should be. Mostly ice as well. My quiche was not as delicious though. It was barely lukewarm and pretty bland. For $19 I also found the portion to be pretty small. Definitely not something I would order again. My partner enjoyed his sandwich but said it was also small for the price and the bread was a bit too crusty. Overall, it's a beautiful venue and a nice experience but I wouldn't rush back on my next trip to Tiverton.

Thankfully, the rest of the staff completely shifted the experience. Everyone else was extremely friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which made a big difference. I wish they had the menu posted somewhere along the side of the building to look at while waiting since I felt pressured to make a fast decision when I got up there to not hold up the line any longer. Luckily the menu for hard ice cream is short. I went with the flavor that sounded the most interesting and have never tried: playdough, while my brother ordered the coconut. The playdough was a bright highlighter yellow color with chunks of colorful dough. The base tasted like vanilla and the dough did not have much flavor. It reminded me of biting into the chewy part of a cowtail candy but with no flavor. I was disappointed. The coconut did taste like coconut, but more artificial than I had in mind. There are no benches or tables so most people were eating the ice cream in their cars. We sat on the wooden logs nearby meant to be a barrier for cars.

It was a very pretty 20-minute drive to the Four Corners Grille, with great GPS service throughout the short trip. Good thing, too, because it's a winding way, with miles of sturdy dry-stone walls along the way. I chose Four Corners Grille in large part because I'm a major fan of fried clams. Living in Ohio and Washington, DC, I've searched without success for authentic fried clams; Four Corners is the first place that ever met (and indeed exceeded) my expectations. I started with New England Clam Chowder (cup, $7), but since I really wanted to try the lobster bisque, I ordered a cup for takeout dinner the next day (cup, $8). The main attraction, whole belly fried clams (market price), were amazing! The serving was more than ample in number (I had enough leftovers the next day for a meal to go with my takeout bisque). The clams were perfectly breaded and seasoned, and came out sizzling, along with hot rustic French fries and Cole slaw. I don't believe I've ever had such a tasty serving of fried clams in my life. Service was attentive, and the dessert menu was too tempting to pass up (I had the turtle cheesecake, split between both nights). Well worth a trip!
