Fun setting - indoor window seating, outdoor patio seating, hightop bar seating they have it all. And it's bright and cheerful. You could go slightly dressy but there were also people (like us) in casual clothes. It was a nice mix and the patio had lots of umbrellas for shade. Variety of food choices- you can eat light or heavy, vegetables or meat. I feel like I could eat there a lot, in different seasons and have lots and lots of choices. We started with the popcorn appetizer which was sooo good. It has a light truffle oil and a delicious cheese on tiny, tender kernels. I had the beet salad, a thin delicious layer of cheese on the plate topped with smoked beets (delicious) candied almonds, rhubarb and arugula. The dressing was light and just added a hint of flavor. The cheese was delicious and the perfect base. As a light dinner I had the Arancini, it was a little bigger than I imagined but I finished it! They were so good, light flavor, balanced and the lemon hint in the sauce was so good! Dessert- Wow! That was a show stopper, chocolate mousse, more like a semifreddo on a flourless chocolate hazelnut "brownie". The service has been excellent every visit. The interior is also nice with the floor to ceiling windows letting in ample natural light. The food menu is seasonal and somewhat limited, which I like, but may be a negative for other people. Came here for lunch & loved everything about this place. Starting off with the location, which is right in front of the capitol with amazing views. The service was tremendous & my food as well. I had an order of the pork steamed buns & wow was it packed with flavor. Loved how crispy the pork was on the outside & juicy in the inside. Definitely order this as a starter if you come here. The next meal was an Impossible burger, which was incredibly favorable! You can either pick to have fries, or a salad. Both options were delicious. To drink I had a non alcoholic drink called Maria. Food was decent. Halibut cheeks were good but I've never actually seen fish shred like chicken versus flaking like fish. It was basically battered and deep fried, which also makes me wonder if it was actually halibut cheeks because it's a more tender nugget of halibut that's better just pan seared quickly to perfection. Charcuterie board was weak and basic but tasted ok. Cheese curds were good and seemed to be made with yellow cheddar. Korean fried chicken had a nice zing to it. Fun cocktail menu. Bartender was great with recommendations since I had to take it upon myself to go to the bar because we weren't getting any service at our table. Took 1.5 hours for them to take our food order then we were promptly asked to leave at three hours right after we paid the bill. We came for brunch on a Sunday. The eggs Benedict was served cold and was ok. The micro green salad served on the side was excellent. The French toast with orange sauce was kind of gross. Well there are a ton of reviews about horrible service, that's bc of this "equity" mindset this restaurant has implemented. Of course the service will be horrible when servers can't be compensated for working hard. This is not how America works. Because of this service fee, I won't be coming back. At least the server was honest and told me to tip less, so I did. If eating out isn't affordable, I won't go. Last I checked the harder you work, you are compensated for it. I first visited Graze to appease a friend who wanted me to try the bibimbap. The bibimbap was great, but what intrigued me then, and what I returned for later, was the Japanese egg salad sandwich. The sandwich came on pillowy milk bread that carried just a hint of the buttery grill flavor you can't recreate at home. The mayonnaise had the subtly sweet and salty mix that the sandwich is known for. The house-made berry lemonade contrasted nicely with the heaviness of the sandwich. Sleek, chic, modern, and delicious. Came to Graze for lunch and was impressed. From their sun soaked patio to the airy, open dining room--Graze offers a beautiful space to enjoy their wonderful eats. Ordered their double cheese smashed burger and was delighted. It's a simple cheese burger (two smashed patties, cheese, and pickles on a bun). I love a burger with all the bacon bells and aioli whistles, but, if done right, with high quality ingredients, a cheeseburger doesn't always need all the extras. And, Graze most definitely does it right. It was absolutely scrumptious. It came with a side of fries. Their fries appear to be hand cut and are precisely the way I like them (salty, slightly crisp). As good as the burger was, I think I may have liked the fries even more. The service was on point and the prices were incredibly reasonable ($15ish after tip for lunch). Get to it! read more

We had a lovely dinner here, in view of the capitol building. A suggestion made by the friend we were staying with, as she was also craving their burger, and we didn't take much convincing. We made reservations, because she said they have a smaller space and of course due to location they are pretty popular. During the course of our visit, there were several groups who were upset about not being able to be seated without reservations and there was....commotion, resulting in police being (unnecessarily, in my opinion) called. This was uncomfortable, but also maybe could have been avoided with (I hate to say it) faster service. We waited quite a long time after we finished our food for it to be noticed, for a server to finally come take our plates away, and when we asked for our check...for that server to find OUR server in order to bring the bill. And THEN the wait for a card to be taken and run after the bill was delivered. I honestly feel like our visit could have ended 30-45 minutes sooner, but staff had a bit of a leisurely pace about them. Thankfully, we had no other plans for the evening, but the time it took for our meal was paradoxical. As for the food, we got an order of cheese curds to share, because of course! And when in Wisconsin, amirite? As was expected, they were delicious. My friend had talked up their cheeseburger so we all ended up ordering one of those each, along with accompanying sides of fries. It was...a lot of fries for three people. They don't skimp on the fries. The burger was also indulgent and tasty as heck. We had a pretty darn decent, if excessively long, dinner visit. Graze was by far one of the absolute best recommendations I received while visiting Madison from Ohio. I got to sit out on the patio/outdoor area and it was a great environment and I wasn't forgotten about either, like normal outdoor seating scenarios. The waitress was extremely helpful and told me various menu items to try and what she liked, what was popular, and chef favorites. Explained the food and drink menu and made everything seamless. Now onto the food itself. Absolutely amazing. The cheese curds were perfectly fried and had the best, oozy cheese you could ask for, the pork buns had the perfect dough and texture and the pork itself was cooked incredibly and just melted in your mouth and the Strozzapretti was incredible. The noodles were perfect and the contrast of the pop and crunch of the asparagus, cherry tomatoes, walnuts, gremolata, and the frico. Located in an aery, vibrant building corner with a great view of the Capitol, which really adds to the experience - went for an anniversary with my girlfriend, and really enjoyed it! The cheese curds really should be in the argument for amongst the best in Wisconsin - light, aery, fresh and crisp AND not too stringy. The graze burger was a solid blend of meats, but the onions and mayo ended up making the burger a little too slimy/wet for my liking - however, still tasted great. The braised pork belly was really the standout though - a very well balanced meal among the sides and meat itself. Very juicy and tender, and the lightly sweet and crisp brussel sprouts were a good counter balance. The cherry brownie was a nice "cherry on top" - the cherries were tart and slightly bitter, which worked well with the red velvet crumble and intense sweetness of the brownie and ice cream. An unfortunately an over-pretentious attitude for an undervalued experience. The menu is very small but honestly all over the place. There's only a handful of entrees, half of which are burgers and the other half are unrelated to any theme. In almost all aspects, the double smash burger belongs on the menu of McDonalds. Other than the bun, it's identical to a Double Quarter-pounder with cheese, and additionally McD's knows their burger is not worth $18. They 'strongly encourage reservations' but still made us wait 10 minutes for our 7:00pm table for two, on a Wednesday. Our server was kind and energetic but clearly had more tables to manage than she was comfortable with. Sadly I don't think I'll be back soon. read more

I love this location! It's right in downtown Madison, near the Capitol building. Super bright, sunny with large windows and outdoor seating. We knew we had to order the cheese curds- they were the main reason we chose to come to this restaurant! And boy was that a good decision. The cheese curds were absolutely fantastic, fried to a cheesy perfection. I will say though- the full size was quite a lot and by the end, I felt like I might have a heart attack!? But totally worth it. So just a heads up- if you only have 2 people, the half size might be enough to share. For drinks, we got an orange juice and their seasonal lemonade which was a cucumber lemonade. The orange juice was so fresh and tasted like it was just freshly squeezed, and the cucumber lemonade was super refreshing! Although I would stay away from that if you're not a big fan of cucumbers because the taste was very potent. For entrees we ordered the chicken and waffles (on menu it's listed as hot chicken and pickles) and I got the bibimbap burrito with pork. I didn't try the chicken and waffles so I can't speak to that but the burrito was only decent at best. The pork was flavorful but was ground pork, which was not what I had expected in the burrito. The rice was nice and crispy, similar to what you would get in a stone pot bibimbap. However, in a burrito, it was a hard to mix the ingredients together in a civilized manner. Otherwise, my experience here was very positive and I would definitely come back to try other menu items :) read more

Graze is a super open, bright and inviting atmosphere. A mix of industrial and organic tones. Very cool vibe to the space. This, my 3rd visit, was a bit off from the previous in that the food was less the what I have come to expect from Graze. It was a bit banal. Pictures supplied. Scrambled eggs were over cooked and dry. The hash potato round was completely not crispy and unseasoned. The English muffins whole grill marked were floppy and had an almost wet crumb. While this is a pretty traditional plate, and it's mainly eggs and bacon, for the price and place there should be no white space visible on the plate... eggs and potatoes are cheap... make them right and cover the plate. Just because the traditional breakfast is, well basic, didn't mean it should be boring and get less attention in the kitchen. The Chilaquiles were on point presentation wise but were a dash over sauced which obscured the tortilla's add to the plate. Great sauce... dash too much. For an appetizer- the French Toast sticks for $9 were a big flop... 3 - 3.5" sticks and side of hot ganache. The sticks themselves tasted heavy in old oil perhaps... the burnt oil flavor over powered any intentions of maple in the batter. The stick serving merely as a vehicle to get ganache from the plate to the mouth. $9 is absurd! Spying other plates exiting the kitchen - the more basic they were, the more underwhelming they looked. Like the basic get based to the newbie as they don't matter. That's how it feel and looks at least. Service and attention were top notch - and way out performed the food today... one off experience? ... not sure, but hopefully they aren't coasting so it's worth another visit on faith and atmosphere. read more

Definitely make a reservation, we walked in and there was a 3 hour wait. We ended up eating at the bar and good thing we stayed, the food and service was top notch. Their cocktail and wine menu is plentiful, all proceeds from their Marker Fruit Slushie goes towards Planned Parenthood! The service at the bar was amazing, the bartender was very knowledgeable about everything including the food. He was great at including everyone and asking for allergies, he clearly knows what he's doing and it was very entertaining to watch him craft drinks. The menu had many vegetarian options available and the wait staff is happy to accommodate any modifications. The burger and pasta were beyond amazing, all their food is sourced from local farms too! I miss BAD wings and wish they had more gluten free options than just avocadish but the environment especially in the summer on the patio can't be beat. We have been sat by a gentleman and 10minutes after we still haven't seen anybody paying attention to us, so my wife went to the bar to informed them we were waiting. She choose the Salmon sandwich, and I choose a burger. The salmon was a deep fried burned patti, that was disgusting, not just in taste but in appearance too. The burger meat was falling apart. The only good think was the French fries. You can't blame that on covid, just bad cooking and service. They didn't charge us the salmon sandwich when they undertood our disappointment. Overall pleasant dining experience. The view of the capital is well worth any potential wait. The food itself was very enjoyable. The seven seeds smash burger was very juicy and flavorful, though I felt the burger sauce was slightly unnecessary as it took away from the flavors of the beef and wisconsin cheese, which I felt should've been the highlight of the burger. The cheese curds were tasty, but nothing to write home about simply due to them being slightly soggy. The highlight of the meal was the Blondie bowl, which ended up being one of the best desserts I have ever had. Very good food offerings here and great service but some interesting rules to say the least. Arrived for 5:15 dinner at 5:13 and had to wait 5 minutes to be seated with only 10% of the tables occupied. I was very suspicious and not a fan of that at all. I understand when the restaurant is at higher capacity and I definitely get pacing in a restaurant especially when understaffed but there was no excuses for that. However, the server I had was fantastic! She was very high energy and positive vibes and she was able to turnaround the whole experience! The restaurant, with a large statement bar, glass windows throughout, and STUNNING view of the capital is what brought me in, but the cheese curds, salmon burger, and regular burger are what kept me coming back. I wasn't a fan of the food. I dined on the chicken and pickles which is their version of chicken and waffles. The chicken is pressure cooked/fried and it makes the meat too hard and the overall seasonings were not pleasant. The meal is topped with bread and butter pickles and has a side of cinnamon butter and syrup. The waffle was cooked too hard it was like a vanilla wafer cookie with waffle grill marks. The drink selection were way too expensive $10, $12 and $16 for drinks the size of shot glasses. The atmosphere was nice and the staff was great but none of our party of 10 seemed pleased with their food and most of us had different items.
