So impressed by this store! Came in for an oil change and the manager, John and his tech found that the work just don't by Firestone on the rack and pinion and radiator system was half-as**ed. They took photos and wrote down on the invoice what was seen. [[HIGHLIGHT]]John said to have the manager at Firestone call him if he disagreed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I brought the van back to Firestone and they investigated. Grease Monkey was correct! And Firestone ended up replacing the rack and pinion and other issues completely free of charge. I was impressed with Grease Monkey's thoroughness, honesty...and focus on the customer rather than making money. I stopped in today at Grease Monkey on S. Lemay and Oakridge to see if they could fix my windshield wipers. I was afraid I might need to get a whole new system put in from a dealer. Instead, they tightened a bolt and it works fine. I said I might need a new wiper blade, but was told it was fine, even going back to check and make sure. They could have sold me blades, but didn't. It was a really cool experience to see women working on the cars and teaching you everything. One employee (could be owner or manager) made me really nervous. Even though they are conducting their customer contact outside, he is not wearing a mask or social distancing. I was wearing my mask and kept trying to step back from him, but he kept stepping toward me. At one point he was 2 feet away and talking right into my face. I couldn't concentrate on what he was saying to me because I was so worried about all the COVID he might have been breathing on to my mask. On the plus side, they did get my car in and out within 30 minutes and I think they did a good job on it. Office manager was not too friendly and didn't seem too thrilled to help me. When checking me in for service I was asked a question about my vehicle and when I responded that I thought his initial answer was correct the guy said in a condescending tone "oh no. I know I'm right. I just looked it up with xxxx number..." Price was $40 more than other service centers in the area for conventional oil and tire rotation. I was told it would be done in around 30-40 minutes. When I showed up an hour later the same guy as before says "well, you were gone a while" as if it was a huge inconvenience for them to hold onto my keys for 20 minutes. We were given a discount because the recharge didn't work and there is a bigger issue with the a/c system. It was a very nice offer from the owner even though they did give us the full service. I'm from out of town and needed an oil change. I drove across town because the Yelp reviews were positive. They got me in immediately. I have a high mileage vehicle (150k miles) so I opted for the $59 choice which I think has some special additive. They inspected my vehicle and showed me my engine and cabin air filters were dirty. They also pointed out that my transmission fluid was showing age and windshield wipers were showing signs of age. All good advice as far as I was concerned. So I had them do the extra work. It was $295 out the door, but I think it was money well spent. The transmission fluid is much cleaner (redder) looking, I have the peace of mind of knowing both me and my engine are breathing fresher air, and my wipers are working like a charm. It started raining right after I left and there were no more annoying streaks! I would use them again. I also liked the people who worked there. Professional and courteous.
