Excellent Customer Service: I came in early on a Saturday for a simple oil change. There was a problem with a part, long story short my car was not ready by close of business on Saturday. The Director of Operations, Thad, came in first thing on Sunday morning, even though they are closed on Sundays, solved the problem, ran multiple tests on my car to ensure everything was perfect, cleaned it all up... AND brought my car to my house. He went above and beyond to provide top notch customer service. He really cared, and that made all the difference. You are in good hands at this shop. Here is a link to a leadership podcast featuring Thad: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=235802921332354 Side note, there is a great spa across the street, while I was waiting I had a massage there, it's called Luxe (next to the Irish bar, LOL), it's super clean, good prices, and the best massage I've had in Phoenix.

The mechanic that said it was a transmission problem. This business say it was not. A true honest business owner who has a Veteran daughter. While the place doesn't look like much this man knows his transmission. As a Veteran I support this business. I definitely would recommend this to my friends and fellow VETERANS.

I don't write reviews very often, but this is one business that truly deserves to be recognized…read more When my transmission failed, I was devastated. Like so many people, I was overwhelmed, scared about the cost, and unsure who I could trust. I felt like I was getting the runaround and hearing that my best option was to trade in my vehicle and buy another one. It was an incredibly stressful time. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion, and that decision changed everything. From the moment I contacted this shop, I was treated with kindness, patience, and respect. After my vehicle was towed to their shop, they took the time to thoroughly inspect my vehicle, explain exactly what was going on, answer every question I had, and never once made me feel pressured. They focused on helping me understand my options so I could make the best decision for my situation. That kind of honesty is rare. In a world where it's easy to feel vulnerable during a major repair, finding people with integrity is priceless. They earned my trust through their transparency, professionalism, and genuine care--not through sales tactics. One of the biggest lessons I learned through this experience is this: always get a second opinion before making a major financial decision about your vehicle. Every transmission and every vehicle is different, especially high-mileage ones. Before agreeing to a service your transmission or deciding to replace your car, take the time to have it evaluated by a reputable transmission specialist at Ken's. If you're searching for an honest transmission shop in Phoenix, I wholeheartedly recommend coming here first. Businesses built on integrity deserve to be recommended, and this is one of them. Thank you for treating me like a person instead of just another customer. You turned one of the most stressful experiences I've had into one that restored my faith that honest businesses still exist. I will gladly recommend you to my family, friends, and anyone looking for a transmission shop they can truly trust.

I recently started experiencing some challenges with my car (after having it longer than I thought…read moreI would). I was having difficulty finding a place open nearby that could replace a specialized light bulb for my car, and I happened to drive over to Honest-1 Auto Care. Not only were they able to squeeze in an appointment for me, but they also helped me feel reassured that everything would work out...and it did. I stopped by a few weeks later when I had a light appear on my dashboard where I thought something may be wrong, but it turned out to only be my fluids were low. The Honest-1 Auto Care team came out and looked at my car, refilled my fluids at no cost, and then told me to head over for a regular check up (which I did a week later at my dealership). They also fit this appointment in between their busy day of appointments. All of the staff from the mechanics to the customer service team are all friendly and happy to answer questions even for someone like me who doesn't know too much about cars. They follow-up as needed (by calling you when your car is ready), and they are honest (thus their name!) and will let you know what you really need and what you do not need. I know they saved me quite a lot of money, time, and stress! You should also check out their website (https://www.honest-1paradisevalley.com) for a lot of great information including some helpful money-saving coupons. I was able to use a $30 coupon off a repair of $250+. It's great to find a place where you can trust the staff and know what you need will get done. Plus, it's right by Dutch Bros.

I have no clue what they were thinking to place this man in charge. When i walked in to pick up my keys he asks which car. I answer ( a hyundai) but he keeps repeating back nissan altima which does not even sound similar. After more clarification he finds the folder of information for my car, which is where my keys should be. They weren't in there. They lost my keys?? They did eventually find them but I was shocked at how they ended up lost in the first place. Additionally, they had my car sitting in the parking lot with all 4 windows rolled completely down. Now I'll be honest when I say my car isn't the cleanest so i had a few extra personal belongings in there that were just left out for the public to access/take. When i went inside to ask why my car was left for me to find in that condition, I was cut off by Ken screaming at me. Yes, he screamed! I was taken aback because I work customer service and I know that is never an appropriate response . With crazy eyes, he yelled that I should be grateful for what he did and that I'm lucky he didn't charge me $1000. He then told me it was policy -- to leave all four windows down in the parking lot, which i find hard to believe. With him not letting me get a full sentence in, I walked out. Ken was aggressive, disrespectful and completely unprofessional. Managers should not be acting like maniacs, even if a customer has a complaint. This changed my perspective of the whole experience as I had spoken with Juan up until that point, who was professional and knowledgeable. Maybe he should be manager as Ken clearly cannot handle that role.

BILL IS THE MAN! Here's my story…read more I'm 22, just moved here from Texas on my own, and have absolutely no family out here. my car broke down on Tuesday night in the middle of the US 60 down in MESA on my way home from work and I was TERRIFIED. I took it to a shop near my apartment at first and they kept my car for two days - telling me they would call me with any updates. i didnt hear anything from them. finally I had to call them to figure out what was up and they told me my entire transmission was shot and i would need to pay AT LEAST $1500 for a USED transmission (their words). I didnt trust it so i said fuck that and started calling around. I actually called a place closer to my home that RECOMMENDED Bill's shop. their exact words in response to my problem were "this guy is the ONLY guy in the Valley I trust. he is incredibly honest, fair and wont throw out a transmission unless he absolutely has to. call him, his name is Bill." you KNOW that says A LOT about someone if another shop recommends him and his services over their own. So long story short, I got my car up to Bill's shop and told him what was going on. I dont know SHIT about cars - so usually people try to take advantage of me, but Bill didnt. he went on to tell me the different kinds of things that could be wrong just based on my half-assed explanation of what happened. he knows his shit, hes been doing this for 40 years!!!! When I got there to talk with him, he sat me down after inspecting my car and said that he was going to do some research and see if my transmission could be covered in FULL at the Ford dealership down the road. he said he would rather me be happy than have to charge me a ton of money for a problem that Ford could fix themselves! he said that he would call around and get back to me in a day or two but about an hour after seeing him, he calls and says "I'm about to make your day" and tells me that SURE AS SHIT, IT IS COVERED IN FULL!! thanks to Bill, I wouldnt have known!!! I wish I couldve paid him for his kindness and I wish I couldve paid him for any work that he couldve done on my car because I already KNOW it wouldve been a quality job. Anyone this HONEST and this RELIABLE and this TRUSTED and this WELL RESPECTED and LOVED around the community is someone WELL WORTH TAKING YOUR BUSINESS TO!!!! thank you Bill!!!!

Headline: $50,000 in Family Business and Zero Accountability: A Warning to Diesel Owners…read more Rating: 1/5 Stars I am a mechanic of 30 years. My brother is also a certified mechanic. We trusted Bill at State to State Transmission with four of our vehicles, spending over $50,000 in total. My 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 alone accounted for $12,000 of that for what was promised to be a "bulletproof" build for my hauling business. Instead of a reliable work truck, I have been met with repeated mechanical failures, thousands in towing fees, and a complete lack of professional decency. The Mechanical Failures: My stock transmission lasted 250k miles of heavy hauling. Bill's "bulletproof" build hasn't even made it 50k miles. The truck has been back to his shop three times for the same failures. Most recently, I was stranded in Tucson with no forward gears. When I pulled the codes, they pointed directly to parts Bill claimed were "better than OEM" and "guaranteed not to fail." They failed. Furthermore, when the truck was first towed in, the ECM was perfect. When I got it back, the ECM was shorted and burnt. Bill took zero responsibility, forcing me to source a replacement myself. The Warranty & Conduct: Bill talks a big game about "standing behind his work," especially when bad-mouthing other shops, but he does not honor his own word. Every time his work fails, he becomes argumentative, dismissive, and condescending. He treated me like an "ignorant fool" despite my three decades in the industry. He demands the truck be towed back to him (from Show Low or Tucson) but refuses to cover the massive towing costs caused by his faulty workmanship. He consistently looks for excuses to void the warranty rather than fixing the problem. The Financial Toll: Between the original $12k build, the $10k spent at a previous shop (which Bill promised to rectify), and the now-estimated $7,500 to finally fix this correctly elsewhere, I will have $30,000+ into a transmission for a 2006 truck. The Verdict: Do not be fooled by the bravado or the promises of a "30-year guarantee." Bill showed no kindness or decency to a family that spent $50,000 at his shop. If you rely on your truck for your livelihood, stay away. The "bulletproof" promise is empty, and the customer service is nonexistent.
