Courtney did a really good job on my hair. It's curly (medium, spiral, between a 3A and 3B) and she cut the layers just the way I wanted. She also didn't cut it shorter than I'd asked, which is rare. I hadn't gotten my hair cut by someone for years (been doing it myself) for fear of stylists messing up, which has been my experience--whether in cheaper or expensive salons. She listened to my requests. Since really only I know how to style my own hair (again....it's curly....), when I went home I restyled it like I normally would. And it looks so awesome! I have to make another comment. I just can't say enough wonderful things about Audrie (I spelled her name wrong last time) ......I went in around 3 pm hoping she was working. I didn't have enough notice to call so I hoped I would find her there. She was just finishing her day....in fact ready to go home. I have an upcoming surgery soon and she was nice enough to stay over and cut my hair for me. She is one of the few who can cut my thick, curly hair and make me feel happy with it. This place is a hidden jewel! My friend recommended them, but I was afraid I was going to get another bad SuperCuts like haircut! I have been to Great Clips three times, and received some of the best haircuts I've ever had, if not at least comparable to the $50 and $60 I've spent on haircuts before. The haircuts are $15 and it's so worth it. The last time I was there the manager cut my hair and honestly she gave me the best haircut I've ever had! It was an amazing cut for price! Don't forget to tip them well--they work hard for their money, and do such a great job. read more

My kids and I have been going to Great Clips for years. These guys are great. My 8 year old has special needs and can get squirmy in the chair when he gets a haircut. The other night i tried to get a walk in appointment with my six kids. I took three of the older ones in with me and was greeted off handily and asked to take a sit. When I asked how long I was told the wait would not be long. As I sat there stylists would finish up and then take the new people coming through the door. After 45 minutes of this I asked when we would be served with two stylists standing there. This women looks at me and said she has internet appointments on their way in ? Now I am waiting with six kids for people who are not even there. Needless to say I left . took the kids to the super cuts deposited three in their waiting room and went to the car for the little ones this stylist is following me out the door asking me if everythings ok .... MUCH BETTER SERVICE. I just loved her smile when she saw the rest of the kids..... I feel very sorry for the owner as his staff is throwing money out the door with their hip new internet service. So stay away unless of course you have an online appointment, which is a funny policy for an unplugged city ... read more

I have been going to Great Clips for quite some time now about 2 years every 6 to 8 weeks for myself women are very friendly I usually go with Nikki. Super nice lady always helpful answer my question it's a shame that her coworkers are not the same. I decided since I like the way they cut my hair here I would try to give it a try for my son which I usually take him to a barber in Watsonville but I thought I would switch it up a bit I got the older lady maybe mid fifties early sixties she called up my son's name we went up I asked her for some advice on a haircut she said it was up to me she couldn't tell me what to do!!? I wasn't asking her to tell me what to do I was just asking her opinion!! old and grumpy she started cutting my sons hair she was really rough with his head he started crying she barely finished got her Clippers and the Cape took the cape off my son threw up her hands and said she "im done" my son's hair looks like crap!! I will be calling to make a complaint horrible experience my son hated it!! Abd is use to getting haircuts it's just the way she was acting he got some type of vibe off of her and so did I... it was horrible I was furious walking to my car and didn't leave a tip and I don't even know why I paid! I feel stuck in the middle because I love how Nikki cuts my hair also a couple other girls I've had before in the past. What a Shame! Not kid friendly at all. read more

Had an awful experience here the other day. I should start by saying I'm not very picky when it comes to my hair, as in it doesn't take much to make me satisfied with a haircut. That and I've never had any kind of bad experience that I felt was worth me making a yelp account and writing a review about, until this one. So the other day I come in for a trim, I sit down and right away the stylist just starts cutting my hair, and I mean literally before me telling him to do anything at all. So I shrug that off and asked him for a trim, just 2 inches shorter everywhere. Seems easy enough right? So he starts combing my hair and is being a bit aggressive with it, as in scratching my head every time he ran the comb through. A little annoying but, again, I'm not usually one to complain so I just let it go. Then the guy who's cutting my hair starts giving the other stylists instructions on what they should be doing, all the while being blatantly rude about it. I suppose he's the manager there? And while he's cutting my hair I overhear the other stylists talking, and one says they've been working there for a week and the other says it's her second day. Judging from how rude he was being I wouldn't be surprised if the other employees all quit at the same time and he had to find new ones. Who knows though. So he says he's finished cutting my hair and takes the cover/cape thing off me and walks to the cash register to ring me up, without asking if I wanted anything different done to it or if I thought it was alright. I look in the mirror and he cut the front of my hair 2 inches shorter, but the back was exactly the same as before I came in. In other words he gave me a mullet. To add to the mullet, the left side of my hair was two inches longer than the right side. This wasn't subtle in the slightest bit so either he was paying zero attention to what he was doing to me, or maybe he was angry about something else and didn't care. So he makes one more condescending comment to one of the other stylists, and I pay him and leave. I know I could've asked him to fix it, but at that point I didn't feel like dealing with the guy any more. So I went home, whipped out my orange scissors from Office Depot, and gave myself a better haircut. All in all, screw that guy. I've been coming here for 10 years and after this experience I'm never coming back again. I'll be sure to spread the word. read more

I went to this salon for the first time and got a stylist who had a unique name (Meeheenya?). Anyway, she was great! I hadn't done anything with my hair for over a year and she knew exactly how to make me feel comfortable and that I could trust her. Due to scars on my head from a recent surgery, she was able to cut and style it in a way to conceal them. I love my new hair! I will be going back again and again. read more

I walked in for a cut and was looking for a specific stylist and was greated by a blond gal who was extremely rude. I was really turned off by her response to me after i asked for the stylist by name. This women seems very unhappy and is not very welcoming. How some one like this is working her is beyond me. I have a friend who comes here and said shes had the same experience from this lady. What is her problem!. With a bad attitude how does some even feel comfortable enough to let her cut theyre hair. I was having a rushed Friday and stopped by here just before closing to get a hair cut. When asked how i wanted my haircut , I pointed to a spot on my head and said "skin up to here and just fade to the top". After a few moments I asked her to cut it shorter and higher "without the guard". So she did switch to a shorter guard, which only meant she didn't want to do as I asked the first time. After I asked a third time to cut my hair shorter she still continued to do as she thought my hair should look. Felling my frustration with her unwillingness to cut my hair the way I (the customer) wanted she asked if I was a "cop" after I said no she then asked if I was in the "military or something". As I said yes I could see the disgust wash over her face. A site I know well growing up in Santa Cruz. Running out of time on a late Friday night without an acceptable haircut I said to her, "let me just get out of here". Then I had to pay for this haircut when really she should have paid me for wasting my time. So in my mind if you really love America as I do as demonstrated by my 20+ years of service avoid this business! People often talk about how they support their troops, but all I was looking for was for her to do her job and cut my hair, so I could pay her. Instead she wasted my time know fully that she was not going to cut my hair short enough for my 6AM Saturday formation. On top of it all I had to pay for that look of disgust in her face when I admitted to being a National Guard Soldier, thankful I did tell her I was a combat veteran...BTW, my Friday night ended with a great haircut and a big smile..look for my next review tomorrow.
