My teenaged daughter was so happy with her first cut at Great Clips 6 months ago, she insisted on going back, this time to get it even shorter. She ended up with a "messy bob" and it really looks good. The women who gave the cut did a great job of listening to what she wanted, and they worked as a team to get it just right. I don't know why I came back here. The woman asked me 3 times if I wanted what I had last time. I told her I only wanted it trimmed closely around my ears, clean up the neck, and don't touch the top. She of course went up way beyond my ears, left the back too long, and had a bad attitude doing it. I literally just put the money on the counter and immediately called another barber to schedule an appointment. I get it, it is a cheap barber shop. Worst hair experience in years! So, I went in before the holidays. I just wanted a trim with a simple clean look. The woman cutting my hair was rushed, so she didn't take her time with me at all. When I got home to shower, there was a whole section of my hair that wasn't cut. I went back the next day to get it fixed. The manager helped cut my hair and she was very apologetic BUT she did a half-ass job. First she didn't wipe the excess hair from the previous customer off of the chair she wanted me to sit in. Ew! Then she didn't even put gel in my hair or anything. Nothing. Not even an offer to clean it up a bit. Poor customer service. I won't be coming here again. Not worth my time. read more

So my wife just went to this Great Clips yesterday (Feb 7) for a quick trim, and she just showed me how she has one loose bang that was not cut to the length of the rest of the bangs, sticking out to the side about 4 inches. I had already told her to stop going to this great clips, but her experience had been good in the past with some of the stylists, but she decided to take the risk. I told her to go back and complain, but she decided just to cut it herself. Needless to say, we will not be going back to this place. A haircut should be a one-time experience, rather than one where you have to go back to really get what you want. I also decided to stop going to this place, because while my first haircut was good, the remainder have all had problems. I have a typical men's cut, and I basically know what length I need and the difference between a good taper and a bad taper. In terms of the length, I usually have to tell the stylist to go shorter, which I have gotten tired of having to do. In terms of the taper, you often can't tell if it is a good taper until after a shampoo and dry. A bad taper has obvious lines, while a good taper has no noticeable lines. The problem with this business is that they are trying to maximize turnaround, which I cannot blame them for doing. The listed price is 15.00, while the coupon price is about $7-8.00, plus whatever tip you decide to leave. But you feel kind of rushed, and then uncomfortable when you are trying to do the work that the stylists should be doing themselves, checking to make sure that it is cut evenly or having to go back for modifications. There are better people/places in the area for around the same price (15.00) that are well worth it. Stylists that take great care in cutting your hair, and specifically, not just rushing through a taper with the buzzer, but going back and making sure that the hair is evenly tapered from multiple angles to make sure that there are no lines. While you can get lucky and get one of the better stylists at the Great Clips at the Sharon Park Drive location, I would advise looking into other places before going to this establishment. I suppose if you can identify one of the better stylists and make specific appointments, it may be worth it. But the random drop in here may be risky and not worth the savings - better to go to a place where there is a single stylist who consistently does good work with whom you can set up an appointment. read more

I had my hair cut by Carmen, and I must admit that I am not happy with the results at all. At first I was overjoyed to find a hair salon so close to my home, but the fact that they had been open since May 24 and I had to find them online should have been a major red flag. Firstly, I asked to have my hair trimmed about two inches, but I was not shown what the hair stylist thought two inches looked like. So she continued to chop off about three to four inches, making my hair an awkward length for my face type. Second, when I asked to have my layers trimmed, she hacked away inches of hair and left me looking like I had been attacked by a weed wacker. All in all I was very unhappy with the quality of the cut and ended up going to a different salon the next day to have it "repaired." I guess I should have known that you get what you pay for, and $8 doesn't get you very much. read more

What a horrible experience. I live in Sharon Heights, 3 minutes from this place. I had a very tight schedule on Saturday and called to see if there was a wait if I was there in 5 minutes. Ben, told me there wasn't a wait. But when I showed up 3-5 minutes later, there were 3 people ahead. He was also in the middle of cutting someone's hear and would have taken a while to finish. He basically lied through his teeth. When I expressed that I had called, he said first come first serve and just shrugged. He should have told me that on the phone. Made me show up in the pouring rain with my daughter for nothing on a day that I already had too much to do. The place also smelled like a hospital. Do not go there. read more

She was very friendly , nice and understanding . I was so nervous to have the hair cut since I always had long hair . But I am very happy with my new look . I like the hair cut she gave me . I've been going to this Great Clips since it opened. Every 3 weeks I need a simple haircut. Eldie is the only one there that has cut it correctly and she consistently does a great job! A true professional who takes her job seriously. She's friendly, courteous and most importantly listens to what I need for the haircut. The others that work there have never cut it right. Not to mention I cut hair in the military. I'm a haircut snob. I got a terrible free haircut on Veterans Day from Tiffany. Shout out to great clips for supporting vets! I came back to get it fixed because my receipt had a coupon on it. ELDIE!! She is an amazing stylist and a great conversationalist. Her accent might be hard to understand for those who've never taken Spanish or been to Mexico, but she cuts hair beautifully! She listens as I detailed exactly what I wanted, she actually did what I asked for instead of most stylists cutting your hair how they think you should look. I will always go back here and ask specifically for her. She even let me take her personal contact info because I don't get haircuts too often and I want to come back to her even if she's moved to a more expensive salon. I tried out this Great Clips last week, and Annie cut my hair. I am a huge fan and will be back to this Great Clips for my next hair cut. Annie listened carefully to what I wanted, asked clarification questions, and took her time (45 minutes). She taught me about cutting and styling techniques and was friendly. Annie, thank you for a wonderful cut! The only feedback I have is in regard to their online check in system. I checked in before hand online, and the system said the wait was 0 minutes. When I got to Great Clips, they found my name on the online check-in list, but then I had to wait 15 minutes. 15 minutes isn't a huge deal, but just be aware that the online wait time is not necessarily accurate. read more

For a first experience it was pretty good. I brought in my 14-month old son. The check-in was annoying, but he was kept happy with a balloon and the toys in the waiting room. We were there around 2 on a Friday so the wait was all of 5 minutes.
