Maria cut his hair and she did so amazing, he's a squirmy little toddler who was not fond of haircuts but she was so patient and kind to us even when he was throwing a fit! We will definitely be returning to have Maria do future haircuts! And she executed the exact cut and style that we were looking for! Also they offer military discount so it was only a $12. Great clips SAN MARCOS is not well organized. Did not have products to do hair, left everyone waiting in chairs, not just once but twice in 1/2 to take money from register to go buy the products they need to do. They told me 20 mins. People came in and left because they could not do because only one stylist. After 25 min wait, a reservation person came in and they took him ahead of me. No, sorry, no eye contact nothing. So I along with others left. I guess they don't need the money as I am a great tipper! Will never use this location again. read more

Took my son in to get a trim. The lady by the name of Elizabeth, took our name and asked us to wait while she cleaned up the station from the previous person. I asked her for a haircut style book in the mean time and while we were looking at it. A gentleman walked in and without any care in the world. Elizabeth greets him and takes him in, right away. She starts to cut the gentleman's hair. By this time I walk up to the receptionist and asked why we were skipped. Her excuse was that I was looking at a magazine. Really!! As far as I know I was waiting on her. She never even called us up or anything. Rude....rude.....rude......is all I have to say. I guess children waiting in line are don't count. I very rarely give bad reviews, but I had such an awful experience here. The person doing my hair was extremely rude and talked to me like I was stupid, and then completely ruined my hair. The cut is not blended at all. It looks almost as if I have a mullet now. read more

I have been going to this salon for my weekly hair cut now since the place opened about 7 months ago. Even there has been some inexperience and some stylists leaving and coming in, the place is clean, warming, and has great personality. MY wife has even gotten her hair cut and styled here. I have found myself my favorite stylist, Cindy, that I request every time. She has given me the best hair cut I have had since I was in North Carolina. I would recommend anyone and everyone go to this salon for their hair needs. My husband went here for a hair cut. We were able to check in online while we were driving there, which was great, because when we got there we didn't have to wait too long at all. Everyone we encountered at the salon was friendly and demonstrated great customer service. My husband's stylist did a great job and was very personable and friendly (don't remember the name, Sorry!). Absolutely ridiculous. I'm there to bring my elderly father to get his haircut. He's not tech savvy, his memory is poor, and he doesn't like giving out his personal information. So I gave them ALL my personal information, address, phone number, email, everything, and at the end of the process when they realized that it was all MY information and not HIS, they refused to cut his hair. Hard to find a good stylist who is able to cut my son's thick wavy hair, but found a pretty good one here. Jenna was good! Only two stars since the day I made a big effort to get here on the day they told me she was supposed to be there, she was NOT there. "shift sharing" excuse?? Also, a loss of another star since after he sat down in the chair, the stylist left my son several times to check others in and start to go through a lengthy return of product process. Finally just went over and took him out of there without even getting the cut. HELLO we are customers in the chair, you don't abandon someone mid-cut continually to attend to other things. HIRE MORE PEOPLE for the front desk, whatever it takes, but this is just bad business. Another star loss as you can't check in thru their system and state an arrival time, their site says "will hold your spot for a short time...what does that mean? This place is terrible. My fiance and myself came in for some routine hair cuts and our hair ended up being completely butchered. Our hair was crooked, horribly uneven and the hairstylist I dealt with cut way more off that I told her to. My fiance's hairstylist just kept cutting, cutting and cutting. He kept telling her to stop but she continued to cut. We were embarrassed to step outside when our hair was done. We will never go back here again. read more

This place is great. They remember who you are by your phone number in their computer and even remember what haircuts you get. So instead of me needing to remember #4 on the sides and #8 on the top, as per my usual, the system just spits it out and they confirm with me. Seriously it took me like 5 years to finally remember what hair cut I get each time. Why didn't they have that sooner?! Also check in can be done via app and is completely transparent. Wait time is never a question. I bring my kids with me when I come in and even though they're hanging on all the chairs they are very tolerant. Great people, great haircut, great place! read more

I had my hair cut yesterday by Patty; this is my second cut from the stylist. She did an amazing job again! My hair feels light and playful. My hair looks great even when I don't style it using a flat iron or curling iron. I didn't expect to receive a high quality cut at great clips; however, Patty provides exceptional service, and she is very easy to talk to. My son had his hair cut today and it was really uneven, the bangs were crooked, and there were patches of longer hair sticking out. I would give a zero, because the service was really not nice, but in the past the people here have always been so kind, service is fast and it has been easy to get an appointment. What happened? I don't get the "new hair stylist anxiety" when I come here because EVERYONE knows how to work on my hair. I don't feel less deserving here because I am a female either. I'm sorry I didn't get the stylist's name who cut my hair. In our conversation she told me she was from Korea. My hair is not easy to make look good. It's very thin. But she gave me the best haircut ever! I've been really pleased with how it looks. The problem is with going here is that from my experience, when you get a stylist you really like, it's hard to get her again. I've had good haircuts here (the last was the best) and not so good haircuts. It all depends on the stylist and it seems they don't stay long. read more

I have long curly hair and was very nervous about getting it cut. I have never been to Great Clips (or any other "chain" hair salon), figuring they have inexperienced hair stylists just out of beauty school. But that is not the case at all! One of the stylist explained to me that because they don't do color or any other chemical services the majority of stylists there are very experienced but they cannot tolerate the chemicals in other standard salons. Good to know! Joulie was absolutely awesome! She went above and beyond, was very professional and did an amazing job. It is the best haircut I have ever received! I can't stop raving about it! And what a bargain, $8.99 plus tip, and here I was paying $50 not including the tip for mediocre hair cuts. Never again! read more

Wow, great customer service. I can not remember the hair dressers name, but she was great! When I walked in, she greeted me immediately. I just needed a quick trim. The haircut was $14, but it was worth it! This place is really clean and modern. The hair dresser was so attentive to what I wanted and offered suggestions to what she thought would look good. I have very long hair, so she was very careful to the amount of hair she cut. She layered it very nicely. I was out in 15 minutes. I will come back again!! read more

The lady Arianna cut my hair and didn't smile the whole time, didn't talk to me the whole time, made chit chat with her co-workers, seemed irritated with me because I was very specific with my how I wanted my hair to be cut, she said she couldn't cut certain spots when I've always gotten those spots cut, should have never given her a tip. read more

I walked in yesterday for a much needed haircut. Ariana was available, took me to her chair and asked me what I would like. We talked the two different cuts I was describing.. she found a picture and I agreed to go for it. I can't tell you how happy I am with my cut. Asked for a medium low but ended up getting a high medium. Also when overlooking the work, I noticed that there was a portion of hair that wasn't faded. So my hair went from bald to hair to bald and then more hair. I told the lady if she can fix it, and I specifically told her about the line of hair, but basically goes back to the very top to cut more hair off. I told her no that's fine how it is, just fade this part. So at the end I ended up getting a high medium not because I wanted but because that's what the worker gave me. So personally I will not come back to this place for a haircut. Besides that everything else was not that bad. read more

I spent 1 year growing my hair out from really short to fairly medium long beach bum kind of look. I walked in asking to keep the side burns, a short trim, half an inch, same style. What did the lady do? she cut off my side burns, cut like 1 and a half inches off, did whatever the f*** she wanted and by the time I asked, it was too late.
