Definitely in my lunch rotation. They sweeten most of their baked goods with honey. You will taste the difference. Order the oatmeal raisin cookie and thank me later. It's a bit chewy because of the honey. They have pesto mayo spread, which is something I haven't tried yet, but good luck finding it anywhere else. I have had many great visits to Great Harvest Bread co! I just went yesterday, because I am starting a gluten free diet. They had leftover gluten free cinnamon chip bread from Thursday (which is gluten exclusion day) and boy, it tasted SOOO good! In fact, I couldn't even tell it was gluten free!! Best gluten free option ever! I am certainly going back on a thursday to try cookies and other various gluten free options. Great Harvest Bread....you will forever be in my head....the wofting smells, quaint store, nice staff, and delicious, delicious bread. FREE bread sample, CHECK! Their bread...yes, I LOVE. It is quite amazing. I need to get in here when they are serving their pumpkin swirl....I was sad to find out it's only on certain days. Their Honey White bread is probably some of my fave. Always fresh and a wonderful taste - especially to eat with sandwiches! I was given a free sample of their Apricot/Walnut bread the other day...and while the taste of the bread itself was good, they nearly had inserted whole dried apricots and walnuts...it as a bit hard to chew and had wished they had finely chopped them. 8/11/19 Update: I still love Great Harvest, however, every time I get a sandwich made from any employee besides Rosemary, it is made incorrectly. I got a sandwich today, requested extra turkey on my sandwich (which I always ask for, and know it's an extra charge), and didn't receive it. Another time I asked for Turkey & bacon, and only received turkey. I wish every employee put as much love and passion into their sandwiches as Rosemary does! WOW! Bread lovers unite! I don't know why I hadn't discovered this place earlier. The staff is just so welcoming as soon as you step through the door. Their menu is easy to follow. I picked up a loaf of pumpkin chocolate chip bread and was offered a hearty slice of cinnamon chip. It was DELICIOUS. The guys who work here are so great. Customer service like this is hard to come by, and Great Harvest has the bread and the experience in their shop down pat. I'll start off by saying that i love GH breads and pastries! I'm a huge fan of the Marion Berry scones! I would of given 5 stars if their scones were just a little more consistent. Meaning abot 50% of the time the are moist and full of berries and other times they are a bit dry with no berries to be found. And at 36$ a dozen, one would expect more consistency! read more

I had such a good experience here! I was craving a sandwich and I had about 30 minutes for a lunch break. I made the perfect choice to come to great harvest. When I first came in, the small cafe smelled so strongly of fresh bread! I was immediately offered a bread sample and I chose a slice of festive stuffing bread, which was delicious. I built my own sandwich with turkey, cheese, and lots of veggies. The sandwich was fresh, tasty, and came out very quickly, and was only $7. I was extremely satisfied by the end and pleased with a great customer service experience. My only suggestion would be to put a few more tables inside because there's only a small counter which was full. I had to eat in my car because there as no space left inside, which was a little disappointing. Edit-- I went here a second time and had an equally delicious sandwich and free bread experience, but also got tomato basil soup this time which was pretty meh. Wow! Visiting from out of state and was craving a sandwich. What a hidden gem! We walked in and they had 4 types of bread you could sample while waiting for your sandwich to be made. I tried the cracked pepper Swiss and it did not disappoint. They also had homemade spreads for the bread such as honey butter and garlic herb. The desserts looked wonderful as well. They had tiramisu bread pudding, assorted scones and cookies as well as giant cinnamon rolls. The lady in front of us tried chocolate chip brownie bread and said it was great. The sandwiches we ordered were made on a honey wheat bread and the bread was so fresh and tasty. Would defiantly recommend a stop by if you are in the area. I have absolutely loved every bite of every thing I've eaten from this place. I go there at Ieast twice a week for sandwiches. Often I pickup dessert because I can't resist. If you like soft dense glutenous bread then this is the place for you. They have variety of different type of bread: sweet, savory, and plain. They are very generous with samples, they have sampling station on the right-side of the counter and the staff is very nice. Great customer service. I cannot believe they were open during the snow-storm, that was very impressive. I liked the sweet loaves...but I would never but a huge loaf of it. My suggestion would be to sell mini-loaves. And I wasn't a fan of the dense soft loaves, I guess I was expecting more of the artisianal style loaves that have a crunchy crust and light center... for those reasons I would give it 4/5. There is also barely any seating inside, more of a grab and go type of place. read more

I love their Scones! During the summer when they bring in the fresh berries it makes me so happy. the creamchees varities are yummy too but I prefer them without it. Hazelnut/Chocolate Chip, Peach/Blueberry & Lemon/Blueberry are my favs, I'll call in the morning and figure out when they'll be out of the oven so I can get em' fresh as they get. On the bread tip - The specialty bread for March is Irish Soda Bread and their take on it is the best I have ever had. If you want to be addicted to something, this is a good choice. Easy access off Cornell road or 185th. I go in every once in awhile to see what breads they are sampling. If I'm not careful, I would probably start buying everything in site. This bread is not only amazingly good (and addicting), but also healthy. Not a lot of ingredients and they are all your basic stuff (nothing you need your chemistry teacher to pronounce for you). My fave is anything with berries, or raisins. The counter people are always nice and are more than happy to cut you a huge slice to sample. I have actually never bought a loaf of bread here. The draw, for me, is the sandwiches. They only offer sandwiches for short window of time daily, I think 11-2 (?) You fill out a little order form with choice of one of their fresh breads, meats, cheeses, condiments, and veggies. They also have a soup daily and a small but adequate selection of sodas and juices. They make it up quickly while you are scarfing down a sample bread slice. I think the sandwiches set you back $6.50, and they are big with plenty of meat and cheese, and of course their signature bread. Try a oatmeal chocolate chip cookie too. I read that Great Harvest Bread Co bakes gluten free bread on Thursdays. Since today is Thursday, I drove over there and got a loaf of their Dakota bread. Wow is it ever good! Soft and moist. Seeds in the bread give it good texture and taste. I came here a few years ago for lunch, and remember having a tasty sandwich. The place is small with very little seating. Some noisy appliance was being used, so can make it unpleasant during lunchtime. But I can easily see this place becoming a weekly stop! read more

I was shopping here yesterday, and saw this bread store. I love good bread, and haven't been thrilled with what I have been getting from the store lately. As I stepped in, I was greeted and someone quickly offered me a free piece of bread, OMG, I am in love. The bread was fresh, and warm. It is real bread, not that whiffy bread you get from your local store. This is the kind of bread that fills you up. It was wonderful. I took home a loaf of cinnamon chip, and a loaf of Dakota. Yelp got me here for lunch today. For $8.50 I got a sandwich, small bag of chips, small bag of questionable baby carrots and a nice oatmeal raisin cookie as a 'lunch box'. Get in here. This place is fresh and tasty. I really like Panera, but this place was even better in terms of good quality sandwiches (I still like Panera's salad options better, but this place has better bread and sandwiches). I was dropping off some shirts at the nearby dry cleaner, and needed to grab a quick lunch. We don't have this bread co where I'm from, so I thought I would give it a whirl, and I'm glad I did. Upon entereing, the friendly staff offer you a sample of their tasty bread with choice of butter or honey butter spread (go for the honey butter... yum). Friendly staff is helpful in choosing the bread to go with your sandwich. I went for the Turkey and cranberry and it was excellent. The italian wedding soup was quite fresh and tasty too. They have great bread like all the other locations I'm sure. The reason I only give them 1 star is because I moved back to this side of the river so this is again the closest location for me. I walk in and don't see any red, white and blueberry bread so I ask if they are out. It turns out they only bake that kind of bread a few days a week...all of which are days I work and cannot make the trip for bread. I called Clackamas to see if they have any, he said, "oh yeah." I love the bread but it's not going to be worth it to make 40 mile round-tripsfor it. The Hillsboro location needs to get itself together. How are you only going to offer, what I assume is a very popular product, every other day or whatever the schedule is?! Bad decision by management, for sure! I'm back on this side of the river and I'm still going to have to drive to the Clackamas location for what I want when I'm able to make the trip. I'm very, very disappointed. Love everything I have tried here - my go-to is the honey wheat. The staff at the counter are always very friendly and helpful and it feels like a true mom-and-pop business. I love that they don't waste a lot of bread and rather bake according to business and aren't afraid to run out of something at the end of the day - personally I think it's how bakeries should be!
