    Turkey Cranberry Sando!
    Ron R.

This is one of my new favorite places in Hillsboro for both a specialty bread loaf and their freshly made sandwiches. I always knew about this little bread making factory, but now I finally get what the hype is all about. Here's a few little reasons as to what makes this place "Great!" * Parking Situation * It's next to a Safeway, so plenty of spaces for parking. People come and go, so front row parking is usually obtainable. * Dining Expectations * First of all, they're a tiny shop, and there's only one long stand-up table against the window. So basically, no 'sit-down' dining. If you're grabbing lunch, you can also expect a lunch line due to its popularity. Sometimes the line can be out the door. * The Harvest Offerings * What impressed me most, was walking in with a warm welcome from the staff, and being offered a slice of bread to sample. They even offer some of their buttery spreads you can spread on it too. And it happens with every visit! Here's a few sandwiches I've tried: ~ Classic Turkey (1/2 sandwich, $6) made with their garlic cheddar bread. A simple sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes, slices of turkey, mayo, and Tillamook cheddar. It's that soft bread that made it all so yummy. ~ Tuna Salad Sandwich (whole, $10), and I gotta say their tuna ain't so bad either. Not heavy on the dill flavor, but flavorful and filling enough. I had this on their wheat bread, and I'd say they make a tasty whole wheat! ~ Other favorites I've tried, their Club sando with Turkey slices and bacon. And their BLTA with avocado of course. Both are just yummy classics. Yes, I'd say their offerings are basic sandwiches, but really you gotta experience this place just because of the bread alone. They do have a display case full of pastries like their breakfast bun with egg, two types of cinnamon rolls, two types of bread pudding, brownies, scones, muffins, and various types of cookies. Look behind you and they've got a shelf with 'Day old cookies' that are still sweet to eat! But in closing, come here for the samples, come here for the sandos, come here for the pastries! What more can you ask for? (Well, I did ask if they can toast the bread for my sando, but they said they cannot. I get it. Just thought I'd ask lol).

Turkey Chipotle but preferred no Chipotle

Came across this place while door dashing. Thought I'd try it out. Ordered the BLT and the Chipotle Turkey sandwiches on honey wheat bread. Very tasty. They have goodies like these super large cookies, scones, etc plus you can buy jams, chocolates, drinks and other specialty items. They also give you a sample bread of your choice to try. The only thing I would suggest is to follow a customer's preferences when preparing their sandwiches. I NEVER order any mayo, mustard, chipotle or any other kind of condiments or sauces on my sandwiches. Where there was suppose to be lettuce on my BLT, I didn't have any. On my Turkey, I found lettuce but also Chipotle sauce which I didn't want. Seems like I better check what I order before I leave the store like you do at a drive up window. These full sandwiches are atleast $10.50 a pop. I atleast want it my way at these prices. Thanks. I will try you again but you get it right do I dont have to scrape off stuff I didn't ask for. Thanks

Excellent place to get homemade bread and great sandwiches while waiting, they always serve you a fresh slice of bread for the day, and they have different butter spreads as well I grabbed the Dakota Bread with ham, turkey, cheddar, red onions, avocado, and mayo and luckily for me, they had the Zuppa Toscana soup

Stuffing bread??? What sounds so yummy and my always go to cinnamon chip bread.

Service here is always so pleasant. From the moment you walk in they offer you a slice of bread to sample. They have sandwiches you can order made fresh for you and delicious cookies. Every day of the week that they are open they have a different bread if the day. Don't forget to ask about their rewards program to earn a free loaf of fresh bread.

Great Harvest Bread - egg/meat filled buns (yum)

We were heading into the dry cleaners, and for some reason we'd never noticed Great Harvest right next door. We were immediately offered a sample bite and chose the lemon blueberry bread. Yummmmmm. That's definitely coming home with us. We inquired about any breakfast sandwiches and were directed to the buns. They've got delectable looking buns filled with egg and meat (various meat options from which to pick). Again...yum. Tasted so much fresher and healthier than any sandwich you'd be tempted to grab from a fast food chain. The display counter had a lot of good looking pastry items, and the baking breads smelled fabulous. Service was friendly and fast and the goodies scrumptious. Will definitely return!

Chipotle Turkey on Honey Whole Wheat w/ Avocado

Been going here for honey whole wheat and cinnamon chip bread for years, but recently got the hot tip that they also make amazing sandwiches! They make amazing in between shopping, takeout, or take to work lunches and taste like they use super fresh ingredients! Plus they package it very nice so that they make it easy to eat on the go!

Garlic cheese bread and Dakota sample bread with lots of butter!

By far best bread ever! They were out of the cheese sticks but they did have the garlicky/cheese bread and plenty of slices WITH butter for sampling! Love great harvest and so glad I discovered this location! We had one in Corvallis before I moved up to the Portland area and it sadly closed (low traffic my guess) and the bread is still amazing as ever!!

There were a couple of orders ahead of me so I grabbed a seat after ordering and I didn't have to wait long. I need to eat more protein so I had them add roasted beef to my sub. The beef was sliced for my sub and was tasty and tender. Bread is an important element of a sub and their white bread roll was adequate but not very inspiring. They could use a nice artisan bread. Lastly was the cheese. The veggie came with a couple of lonely thin slices of provolone. The sub would definitely be better with more cheese. Finally, the price was at the top of the range for subs in Beaverton but they are so much better than Subway, Jimmy John and Pot Belly that the higher price was worth it. I will definitely return though I might go to the original one at 185th & Farmington as it's a little easier for me to get to.

Generous amount of freshly sliced turkey, soft bread, large chunks of fresh avocado, and crispy veggies. Good menu variety and fast, friendly service too.

I tend to pick from the shelf-stable pastries since for some reason whenever I visit it is always hot. That means I have to skip at the cake/pastry case even though the desserts look so tantalizing. My favorites are: Kare pan: House made beef curry inside of a deep fried donut coated with panko. I don't understand how it's possible for this creation to remain crispy even though it's stored at room temperature instead of the more usual warming lamps. The curry is thick and has generous chunks of beef and vegetables. The bread isn't really "donut" per se since that brings to mind something sweet with a tender crumb. It's more of a fried bread dough that's deliciously chewy. Bacon and blue cheese mini epi: Épis de Blé is a bread that looks like a sheaf of wheat that is very similar to a baguette. Their take has a chewier crumb and crust instead of a shattering crispy outside as with a traditional bread of this type. The cheese and bacon make this such a luxurious bread. They don't use the shelf stable bacon; they use the good stuff so it adds a great texture to the bread. It's not heavy in blue cheese flavor, so even though I don't like blue cheese, I still adore this bread.

The staff at the counter was friendly and helpful. It was fairly busy on a weekend afternoon but they seemed well staffed. Everything moved along quickly. They even had people actively keeping the dining area clean, wiped down, and tidy. That made finding a clean spot to sit so much easier during the busy lunch hour. We ordered a chicken sandwich combo and a nugget combo. One of the combos included a pie as well. Everything came out quickly and served hot. My favorite side with chicken is always mashed potatoes with gravy and these, fast food style potatoes covered in gravy, didn't disappoint! Great flavor in the gravy! The nuggets and sandwich were both very good. Not overly greasy and not buried in breading. I'm not a fan of hot pocket type pies but my husband said it was very good.
