I'm one of those peeps that never had boba, being a bit neuro other the thought scared me however I need to challenge myself so I tried a boba at Bamiti... and it was glorious ! The lovely chewy boba the wonderful flavoursome jasmine milk tea! Yum yum ! It didn't stop there, I had their vegetarian ham sandwich, the bread alone was worth it for me, the filling was so flavoursome and imo balanced. The sauce was just the right amount. My mil had a wonderful meal as well, she had the grilled ham sandwich, the eggrolls and a lovely strawberry matcha. Definitely coming back ! read more

Love that we have a Vietnamese restaurant in Bethany Village. The Pho is good, the banh mi sandwiches are good too. The seating is very limited, but adequate for the volume of business. There are similar or better Pho restaurants in the area, however, none this close to home. We hope they can continue to stay in business. And I will continue to support this business. read more

Kind of a Californian banh mi snob over here :P With that being said, this place deserves a solid 3.5 stars. Service is alright, ingredients are decent, the actual banh mi is where I had to knock off a star due to it being on the stale side. Not sure if they bake their own bánh mì from scratch or not, but the 3 that we ordered were definitely either a day old or two old and re-toasted, or they just need to perfect their recipe a bit better. Their Vietnamese butter/mayo faired on the sweeter side but still better than most. We ordered the staples, combination, grilled pork, and grilled beef. The grilled beef which I'm used to it being ground beef with aromatics such as lemongrass and garlic, fell a little short as it was just thinly sliced up steak? Not complaining about steak, but this wasn't traditional and it wasn't my fave.. the combination and grilled pork both could have used more meat, it was lacking but tasted decent enough for $8.50/ea. Overall, if I'm really craving banh mi and in the area, I would give it another try- just not sure I would go out of my way for it. read more

The banh mi's are great here. Been here more times than I can count and I almost always get the tofu banh mi. They're reasonably priced and large and tasty. Their drinks are also very good but a little on the pricey side. Service is OK, my dad had a bad experience where they made him the wrong drink and wouldn't remake it so would double check before paying. Would definitely recommend the banh mi, maybe take it to go as it's just very casual and not that large inside. read more

Tried this place for the first time and was very pleased. The jasmine tea has such a strong tea flavor. It's absolutely delicious. Pretty good drink portion for the price and also the coffee avocado was so good better than I've had at other places you actually see avocado purée. This might be our new go to Boba place. Not really enough flavor, could add a bit more meat and veggies. A bit pricey and quality of food is mediocre per our preference, had to go up to and for extra veggies and soy sauce and sriracha. Ordered fresh taro smoothie and it was good just too sweet so requested extra Ice and they offered to blend it in for us. Nextdoor to a cute bakery and overall very nice area to chill and grab food to go, it's very small inside so not a lot of space to sit. read more

Our family ordered the M1 and egg Vietnamese coffees. The egg coffees were delicious and it was served in a 16z size, A+ The banh mi however deviated from the traditional "dac biet". It had the cha pate cilantro Vietnamese ham pickled veggies cucumber. The bread had a good crunch. the flavor was decent, yet different from a typical dac biet sandwich I was accustomed to. I tried their ube coffee and their size cup is much larger than other Vietnamese cafes I've tried before! It had a good ube flavor and the strength of the coffee was what I needed to stay up! I haven't had a chance to try their sandwiches, but I can't wait to return to try other drinks and their food items soon! The girl who rang me up was nice and professional. Environment: it was a small area and they share the same space as I think the Mediterranean restaurant on the other side. Staff: friendly Food: I got the grilled pork banh mi. The bread was nice and crispy but the pork part was so so in my opinion. The flavors were on the sweeter side, it didn't taste grilled, and there was a lot of fat so maybe they used pork belly but it got heavy and oily quite quickly for me. The price is also more expensive than other places- I guess it's because of the location since Bethany is fancier. It was okay and worth trying once. read more

Great drinks We went here after going next door to check out Buttercoop Bakery's grand opening. We didn't order at food because we enjoyed treats from Buttercoop, but we enjoyed their drinks. One coco milk matcha, one coconut smoothie, and one egg coffee. All delicious! I'm a big lover of matcha, so I really enjoyed the drink being less sweet and more bitter. You can always adjust the level of sweetness for your drink too. One thing I liked about this place is the amount of variety on their menu. They have all sorts of coconut milk and coconut juice smoothies and milk teas, it made it hard for me to choose. Guess I'll have to come back! If you're allergic to dairy, their coconut drinks are an excellent option without sacrificing quality and taste. read more

I had heard about this from some of my friends and had to go and see what they were excited about. Food-Ordered a sandwich and a fruit tea with lychee jelly. Perfect combo on a hot sunny day. The sandwich bread was fresh and flavorful. The tea with perfect balance of sweetness was refreshing. Service-Friendly greeting and order came out quickly. I gave this place a couple try but I think my expectations were always higher than what delivered. I was excited to try banh mi and Vietnamese coffee the first time when it was first opened and both were just ok. There wasn't much of a special touch to the coffee that I would come back. Banh mi was just ok as well. We stopped by for another visit recently because I wanted to get the labubu topping as advertised. A little disappointed they just made a plain white color, no additional of distinguish for a more detailed labubu looking. ( I did get a labubu topping at a bubble tea place in Canada and it was a lot better). Rose matcha was not bad.. We don't live nearby this store and I only wanted to come check out and support asian owned restaurants/ boba shops. I wouldn't make a drive far out to come back for future visits. We came for the avocado coffee and it was pretty good. There was a lot of ice in the drink so unfortunately it didn't last that long. We also got two sandwiches, M2 (pork loaf/pate) and M4 (grill pork). My husband liked his grilled pork sandwich, but I found the marinade a bit too sweet for me. At the same time, I found my pork loaf and pate sandwich a bit bland. I wish there was more pate to moisten and flavor the sandwich a bit more. The service was also alright. The staff took our order without engaging any conversation. Which is totally fine, we just didn't get to know the staff and/or establish any connection. Overall, I wish I liked Bamiti more as we were excited to see another Banh Mi place in the area. I think I will stick to my favorite Banh Mi restaurant in my area though. read more

There's a medley of things that have to be right to make a banh mi and for Bamiti it's the bread. It is light, airy, soft yet crunch and super fresh. I could eat these baguettes alone. The filling of the dac biet was okay. I think they could load up on pate or add something with a little more saltiness. I would also prefer French butter over mayo. As a Viet who's eaten many banh mi's I have my preferences but it doesn't take away that bamiti has delicious banh mi's. I also highly recommend the avocado espresso. So good. read more

We came here during the soft opening. I prefer to dine-in for pho because it's just better when cooked and served fresh and you're using real ceramic bowls and chopsticks. Unfortunately, this place seems more geared towards take-out, probably because there is very little seating. Luckily, the pho was served in a non-plastic bowl, and we got metal spoons, but everything else from the cups to chopsticks were disposable. The food here hasn't impressed me, but their Vietnamese iced coffee is the absolute BEST I've had around Portland (if not anywhere)! Strong flavor without being bitter or cloying or acidic, and with a chocolaty taste. Cafe sua dat is my favorite coffee drink and a childhood treat - I'll go out of my way to come here just for a double order without ice. Love this place; best Vietnamese coffee in town. Occasionally I add on the Ube topping as a special treat. Their appetizers and bahn mi are tasty as well - great spot for lunch or a coffee/tea pick me up! The staff is super friendly and kind and introduced me to Ube cream with a free sample. The baguette was crusty and the meat was super flavorful. The accompaniments of veggies were pickled and seasoned well and oh boy it it smell so good. The service was quick and very friendly, taking the time to explain everything. We ate one on the rice home and kept couple of the sandwiches on the kitchen counter. They have the best black milk tea I've found in Portland so far! Good strong flavor, not watery at all. The boba is always a good amount of chewy. Pretty standard sweetness but they customize so if you don't like it so sweet you can cut it back. read more

The food would have been tasty, had my bahn mi been filled eve halfway with meat. Very bready and not filled up nearly enough. It is disappointing when you pay more than 10 bucks and leave hungrier than when you entered. I see other people love this place and maybe they've updated menu and prices/portions but i was disappointed. On another visit I had a regular boba milk tea. I'm picky about using real tea and this place delivered! There aren't many places on the west side that deliver this kind of quality.
