So happy to see GHB in Warrenton on our hiking weekend :) small restaurant but so cozy and warm. We wanted to grab some bread and breakfast. A whole fall of 50% off loaves that were day old - sign me up! So many varieties it was hard to choose but I grabbed a "Dakota" loaf with pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. Latte was delicious and made to order, happy that they had sugar free vanilla syrup and nonfat milk. My bf grabbed a meat breakfast sandwich on honey wheat, delicious and real eggs! This place is incredible. We were first greeted by some very friendly people who offered amazing samples. I sampled the bread pudding which is phenomenal! I got the California Cobb on Dakota bread. The sandwich had a wonderful flavor with turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, an avocado spread and some sort of blue cheese spread. The Dakota bread is a super grain bread with tons of stuff it it. It was dense but moist and just great! Would definitely come back! read more

I picked up their peach cobbler bread at a farmers market they set up at in Culpepper. I'm not local to that area and didnt know anything about this company but everything looked so delicious I couldn't resist ...and so happy I didn't!! it was fabulous! I thick sliced it and popped in my toaster and was sorry I didn't get 2 loaves and other offerings. i also added some of my homemade peach jam on it...although it didn't need it...and it further enhanced the sweet bread. Next time I get near warrenton im going to detour to the store for more tasty treats. read more

Their items are very tasty as usual. The only thing that I feel is a problem is how it seems that every year the prices go up while the food items just get tinier and tinier. When I was younger everything was always so big, as years went by things got smaller and smaller but prices went up. I don't agree with that, but things still taste as good as they always do at great harvest. read more

Excellent! My son and I came here for lunch. He had a turkey bacon sandwich on white. I had the roast beef provolone on wheat. Both sandwiches were excellent. The Dijon mustard has a serious spicy kick! The bread was soft and fresh. Customer service was excellent and they have samples to taste! Ugh I can't get ENOUGH of this place. Each time I go back I get something different and it never fails. Absolutely awesome place to stock up on baked goods and pastries. Why do I like this place? Easy...great bread, the foundation of any exceptional sandwich,ask The Earl, right? Enough bread choices to make your head spin. Some you've never heard of but you can't go wrong with any choice; the wheat is really quite good. They offer up a generous amount of meat, cheese and fixins to make any sandwich a meal. Just the way you like it...but no honey mustard :(. I had the turkey with swiss on whole wheat, it was huge...and they give you a pickle. A very friendly & helpful staff. I really like the XM Sat Radio playing classic rock. Very casual, a mostly 'get it to go' type place with easy in and out and ample street parking in beautiful downtown Warrenton! The only down side is there are only two tables inside and the bathroom is not easily found, it's in the rear of the restaurant. I love the smell when I walk into Great Harvest! Fresh whole grain breads and a savory blend of spices fill the air with an aroma that makes you want to stay all day. The staff has always been friendly, courteous and helpful. :) My favorites are: Scones (pretty much any of them, but especially the red, white and blue), garlic cheddar bread (perfect to accompany any Italian meal, and plain delicious by itself), and the cobbler breads (made with seasonally fresh fruits as available at the local farmers market). Prices are a little high, but you do get what you pay for. This is the best quality bread/baked goods I've found outside of actually making it at home myself. read more

O.M.G. I have been missing the home made bread shops that closed down at home. I stopped in while traveling and it was amazing! The girls were super attentive and friendly! This is, hands down, my favorite place in Warrenton. Friendly customer service and great selection of breads, pastries, and spreads. They also sell yeast and a variety of flours. Not sure what to buy because all of the bread and pastries look so good? They will give you a generous sample (and then you end up buying so much because it's all delicious!). They also sell great sandwiches-all of the sandwiches that we've tried are really good but my favorite is the veggie sandwich on their Dakota bread. This is an incredibly cute bread shop with a cozy feel to it. When you get in, there's a sign pointing where to go to order. There's a large parking lot behind their store in case you can not find any street parking. They have loads of cookies, the 6 packs are about 11 dollars and singles are less than 3. It's quite pricey in my opinion at first until I saw an inconspicuous little statement that basically says that they mill their own flour! I love freshly milled flour as it tastes fresher and it's more nutritious! They mill red wheat berries. So their cookies are also made with that same nutritious flour making this cookie HEALTHY! So you can eat a lot of it right?? I got one of their sandwiches as a meal which comes with a drink and a cookie. When I got to the register, I kindly asked if I can get their shortbread instead as I've never had it before. They were more than happy to accommodate and I didn't even need to pay the difference! A+!!!!! Their sandwich was also delicious as well as their freshly squeezed lemonade. Will definitely go back again to try more of their sourdough breads as they were out last time! I'm not sure why there were some reviews that complained about the personalities of the staff, because I'm not sure I've had faster, more friendly and generous service. First of all, there's an amazing offering of free samples from breads to pastries, cookies, spreads..and generous samples at that. Next, everyone was smiling and everyone was helpful. The food was delicious and very quickly prepared on whatever bread you choose. My little girl ordered toasted bread with a garlic butter spread (not too into sandwiches), which they gave her free of charge and because they made it slower than the rest, they threw in a free cookie for her too. 3 sandwich meals with either a cookie or chips, and a drink, plus another drink was $35. You can't go to McDonald's for that so just try it! read more

Drove from Gainesville to Great Harvest this morning to get a gift basket full of delicious goodies only to be extremely disappointed. I have never been to a Great Harvest that does not provide gift baskets until today. After deciding to put my own together, I discover most bread is unavailable and told they would have bread "about noon." Against my better judgement I ordered two loaves out of the three available, and was handed one that I didn't order. In the guys defense he was probably flustered by the chaos of a field trip in the kitchen, and the fact that the register does not have a button for a Cinnaburst loaf (it took two guys to figure that out). The poor guy at the register was left to wait on all of the paying customers including making drinks and food. Cookies that cost 11.75 for 1/2 dozen dry and inedible. So we left minus 35.00 with two loaves and garbage cookies. Side note... still looking for a gift for my colleague. read more
