The loveliest bakery - perfect stop on the way to a Shenandoah trip! They have a make it yourself coffee station which was fun, and their baked goods were amazing (got the jalapeño biscuit and my husband got the chicken salad sandwich on amazing raisin bread). It was our first time here and it was a little bit of a learning curve to figure out this is a "make it your way" coffee experience. You order your size coffee and fix it with plenty of options: milk, oat milk, almond milk, and flavors: vanilla, hazelnut, pumpkin spice. We ordered two coffees, an almond pastry, and a breakfast sandwich: sausage, egg, and biscuit with pepper jam. I wanted bacon but that was sold out for the day. The breakfast sandwich was pre-made and pulled from, I assume, a warming tray. Wasn't sure how I felt about that - I got it immediately how long was it in the warmer? ‍ The biscuit itself was delicious, pepper jelly was a nice touch (slightly sweet, slightly peppery), the sausage was so-so (not bad at all). My wife really liked the make it your way coffee bar. Many coffee drinks are waaaaay to sugary these days. I kind of prefer seeing what the barista comes up. Both of our coffees turned out well and we really enjoyed them. Our greeting by the person behind the counter felt ... meh. You know how occasionally you go somewhere and it feels like they're thinking "oh .. it's YOU". Kind of felt like that. Other patrons were greeted warmly. Seems like a friendly neighborhood spot. I would absolutely go back, and I have already recommended Red Truck (same day as this visit). What could be better? Mixed feelings on the biscuit not being freshly made. What a darling little bakery, with ample parking and tons of goodies inside! They were a little picked out of inventory (or maybe it was elsewhere idk) pie/cake/bread wise, but they had a bunch of different goodies in the display case. I bought a cinnamon roll and a blueberry lemon muffin. I've only had the cinnamon roll so far but I know I'm in for a treat with the muffin because the cinnamon roll was OUTSTANDING. It was full of cinnamon, the roll was soft and easy to eat (sometimes rolls get hard - not at this place to my knowledge but in general). The icing was the perfect compliment to the cinnamon roll, not too much, not too little. The service was super friendly, I think perhaps the owner was up front working the counter. I felt like I was being welcomed into a friend's home when I first walked in, when I ordered, and when she said goodbye. They've got a cute little sitting area to the right, very coffee-house vibe. This is a small-ish bakery and coffee shop. The case had many different pastries and all of them looked good. I ended up choosing a jalapeño cheddar biscuit and asked for it warmed to polish off my chai that I walked in with. The biscuit was flaky and tasty. The boy had to pick up something in the area so we ended up doing lunch here. When I first got there there were plenty of cold sandwiches to choose from but by the time the boy came back from his errand, there was just egg salad left. He decided on a quiche instead-- the ham and cheese quiche was quickly warmed up by the staff and I ended up with the soup of the day. The soup comes with a slice of the focaccia. The soup had a slight kick to it, but pretty amazingly tasty. We ended up with coffee cake and cake slices to go. The cake was prewrapped and buy one get one, the chocolate cake was pretty good, wish it was slightly more moist because I felt it was slightly dry but the cake was flavorful and good with just enough icing. The boy ended up with a plain latte to go and I finished my drip tea. They do also have a display of local produced goods for purchase-- good for the cross pollination of businesses in the area but bad for me because I found caramels. read more

I ended up getting the egg salad sandwich, which came on House made white bread, and my partner ordered the omami breakfast sandwich which featured sausage and bacon jam on a biscuit. We also enjoyed sharing one of their Lone Ranger cookies, which was absolutely delicious and similar to a kitchen sink type of cookie. There is a community table and a few small tables and chairs in the back if you prefer to dine in. The parking lot out front is very small, so you may have to find street parking during busier times. We had no trouble finding parking when we came around noon on a Sunday. The menu is not huge but what they do feature is made in-house and very tasty. Owner is related to the Noyes family from Napa, Ca. My hometown. The place is warm and cozy & the baked goods are upscale. My favorite is the granola. So chunky & savory! The perfect snack. Great Harvest is just a few blocks down Main Street and their baked goods, atmosphere and service is vastly superior to this once fine bakery. Red Truck doesn't deserve such a low rating but the unfriendly disposition of management and some of its employees tarnishes this once iconic establishment. Went inside because I love cute local bakeries. They had some individual pie and cake slices near the register fairly priced 2.95 for cake slice and about 3.95 pie slice. I got the caramel cake which was like a butter pound cake with pecans at the bottom really good and moist. But my favorite was the bourbon pecan pie surprisingly because I don't really like pecan pie but this pie was done right! It was so good I took one bite and went back in the store and bought another. Even though I'm a true city girl, one trip to Red Truck Bakery has me adjusting my Zillow search zip codes. Talk about Cinnamon roll heaven! I was in the area for a quick drop by, but within the fifteen minutes I was there I feel like I was fully immersed in small town, bakery culture! As I peered into the bakery case, a local regular stopped by to RAVE about their cinnamon rolls. Then, a baker stopped by to jump in on the conversation to add her two cents as well! I felt like I was straight up hustled for cinnamon rolls -- but after purchasing two, I don't regret it one bit. These were the BEST cinnamon rolls I have ever eaten (and I'm someone who was basically raised on Cinnabon). The cinnamon rolls were made with a brioche dough so instead of being sticky and heavy, it was light and airy! Perhaps a better name for it would be Crinnamon Roll, as it had a croissant-like texture. It is only sold on Fridays and Saturdays, so our meeting was serendipitous. We also left with a big box of granola which my sister had previously raved about. I'm not much of a granola fan but with oats, dates, cranberries, blueberries, and other goodness, I can't wait to pour it over some yogurt and have a breakfast ball. It also makes a great gift! Red Truck Bakery is favorite! The hubs and I visited this bakery while driving back from a weekend getaway, and I am glad that we stopped by! They have two locations - one in Marshall and this one in Warrenton. Their menu offers various breakfast sandwiches, cakes, sammies, sweets, seasonal pies, and pastries. We had to get their famous granola, as it was stated to be the 'best granola in North America' by Zimmern. A bold statement, but, boy, it sure was! Rolled oats, walnuts, almonds, coconut, maple syrup, local honey, brown sugar, dark raisins, golden raisins, dried fruit, pure vanilla, cinnamon, and salt - all handmade. Absolutely delicious, and it had both large and small clusters. Perfect with yogurt, as a cereal, or as a healthy snack! I also tried their Cranberry, Orange, and Walnut muffin - this was absolutely divine! It had a candied crisp coating on the top from the sugar, and it was chock full of cranberries and walnuts; the citrus note from the orange zest just made this such a delicious treat! I couldn't pass up on their cute seasonal cookies - there was a bear-shaped sugar cookie (the sugar was blue!), holding a mini candy cane candy, stuck on one of its paws. Not only was this obsession-worthy, it was yummy! The service? So unbelievably and genuinely nice, welcoming, and super sweet! I believe there are a couple of entrances; the left side to the bakery with coffee, and the right side to the counter where you can order sammies. Driving along through the north Virginia countryside, exploring an epicenter of modern farm-to-table, and BOOM. There it is. Smack in the middle of this cool little town of Warrenton, sits the Red Truck Bakery. I don't know all the history and lore; I just know these folks took an old garage or firehouse and turned it into a very cool, hip modern bakery. They offer a bunch of various kinds of bundt cakes, chocolate layer cakes, cakes that look like Napoleans, more other cakes. Also pecan pies, assorted fruit pies, and quiches. Also suger cookies and best of all--Red Truck Cookies!! I just wanted to gorge myself. But I was really there for lunch, so we had a chicken salad sandwich, a tuna salad sandwich, and coffee. The place is cozy and beautifully reconditioned/restored. Food is really good. Had they not been out of cinnamon buns, this would have been a 5. That plus the prices (tad high) pushed it to 4. Hmmmm I felt like this was just okay!! The bakery was very cute and staff were friendly but the pastries we got were comparable to a grocery store quality. I was not impressed. The cinnamon rolls were dry and flat. I felt like the cinnamon flavor was overpowering. It wasn't flaky nor fluffy, like it were from a can. The maple donut was really good, but again nothing special! They were also out of a bunch of their items which was a bummer! They followed covid precautions by only having a window open to take orders, but pick up was at the same window so it made it awkward when the people behind us rushed us to the side to put in their order (gotta get your pastry fix) and we had to reach around them to get our order. read more

I took my daughter and her friend here for lunch on a Saturday around 12:45pm. I was hoping they had lunch items. We selected an egg salad sandwich, a tuna sandwich and a croissant plus drinks for each of us. They also offered two other kinds of sandwiches. The egg and tuna sandwiches were substantial in portion: thick -but not too thick- bread, plenty of filling to the edges. The only complaint is that both salads were noticeably sweet. It was really off putting. Maybe they use salad dressing instead of mayonnaise? We sat in the small room to the right of the register. It was raining that day so it was very damp inside. Staff was polite but not particularly warm and inviting. I do still recommend them as a bakery but perhaps not as a lunch spot. For us, anyway. read more

I've been coming here for many years and have always loved their freshly-baked goodies! I'd always enjoyed their various muffins, and if eating there, they have great coffee to enjoy with them. Their coffee cake is one of the best I've ever had! They also have an outstanding focaccia bread that I brought home for dinner and it was a hit! Service is always friendly and helpful. Only issue I have (which isn't going to be popular with most of you, but I don't care) is that they are mandating masks right now (Sept/2021) even though it's not gov't mandated right now... I previously ordered muffins for my father from the bakery and he raved about them. We were passing through the area and decided to stop for breakfast. It was amazing. We tried a bunch of the items and shared between five of us. Our favorite was the Cranberry Orange Muffin, which was probably the best muffin I ever tasted. My suggestion is, if as a business, one is going to out source shipping and logistics to a san Francisco based "yummy food connection company," founded by some jackaloon millennial, Gold Belly. Make certain that they can ship a $50.00 Pecan Pie from one Virginia address to another Virginia address on or before October 27th. And don't hand me the covid BS shipping delay crapola. My wife's birthday pie was shipped by UPS, and UPS has been hauling goods and making deliveries up and down my street with no delays. I want my fing money back.
