I've lived in the Antelope Valley for over 20 years...i finally tried this place...the worst experience I ever had...it started out ok...the tea was good and the appetizers was ok...but the Wong tong soup was...hey what kind of meat is that...no biggie bring my Orange chicken...excuse me what is that...i took one bite and spit it out...when I ask my server they tried to ignore me...i had to get loud for them to get the manager, I guess that's who he was, no one seems to understand, they said let me get the guy...so I tell " the guy" this is brown and doesn't look are taste like orange chicken...he said well it's made out of real chicken, well next time don't order it...lmao There will never be a next time...I could not believe that it look like Rat parts... the great disgusting wall... read more

I am almost shocked by how many people eat here daily. I work in the same plaza and the handful of times I have eaten here, it was disgusting. I recently had gave them one more chance with their egg rolls, and I threw them away. It taste like everything is frozen and then served. The egg rolls were not crisp, and the vegetables inside were limp and tasted old. Save the extra five dollars and go to Panda Express instead. read more

I can't believe it! I stopped by after work to pick up an order for dinner. I ordered Sweet and sour pork. Wontons, and chicken fried rice- pretty simple order I think. I drive home which is not in Lancaster, and find out my fried rice has absolutely no chicken in it. I called and they would make it right if I would drive all the way back to prove to them that their was no chicken in it and then they would make another order. If I couldn't drive back tonight, I was told to save it for proof later on. Are you kidding me? What kind of customer service is that? Not a fan!!! read more

This place used to be great. I don't know what happened but the food is not what it once was. My husband brought home a bunch of their food and it was disappointing to say the very least. Everything was bland, the noodles smelled and tasted stale and everyone took a couple of bites and was done so now we have a bunch of mostly full food containers just sitting on the counter because no one wants to eat it. My husband and I frequented this place often. As a Vegan, they readily had substitutions available. My favorite meal was that Kung Pao Tofu. It was DELICIOUS! the flavors were amazing.... I feel like this place is hard to rate. I always order to go, so I don't know much about the looks and I know people say it's filthy, but when I'm just picking up food I don't notice. I always order the mixed veggies and my husband gets the kung pow chicken with the regular won ton soup. Those 3 dishes are delicious, but I know other things are not as good. I am a huge fan of Great Wall. I tell people it is the best Chinese restaurant in the AV. This is a place you can feed a large family for minimal price. You get the most out of your money. Not only are the portions great in size and taste, you are also given complementary tea and Chinese "chips." You end up being extremely full before your food even arrives. Not to worry because they have the cutest to go boxes for you to take you're food home. The ambiance of the place is relaxing and calm. There is sweet Chinese orchestra music in the background and the lights are dim and soft. The service would receive 3 stars only because it is very hard to catch your waiter, whether it is to make an order, pay for the check or ask for a refill. It always seems as if they are hiding from you. One good thing about the service is that when you enter the restaurant, you are almost seated immediately. Though the place always seems packed, there are always seats for you too choose from, such as table or booth. I would not recommend going on a sunday though because that is their busiest day. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly and you are greeted by all of them upon arrival and departure. The food there for the most part is good. My family and i always order the same thing (shrimp fried rice and low mien) and majority of the time it is to our standards. There were a few times where the food was just tasteless and bland but the managers are very good about customer care, so they would always have the cooks remake our meal. I would not recommend ordering take out because it seems a if they just rush to make the food and do not care how it tastes. To enjoy "Great Wall," you have to take time cool down and eat at the restaurant. Overall i like the place and would certainly go back. read more

This is easily the best Chinese restaurant in town. I have been coming here consistently past 12 years and I do believe that these guys serve good food with utmost consistency courtesy and love. The portions are good the prices are awesome and there are specials for lunch and early bird dinner. they give a lot of stuff with the food, free crispy noodles they give free tea and the serve with lot of love. The manager Mr Kim is a very diligent kind and friendly person and very very hardworking. I see that guy going around everywhere in the restaurant from the time it opens to the time it closes and he's very careful that everybody should have a good dining experience. The food was really bad. My friend and I ordered to-go last night (the service was great) and it was absolutely awful. The chicken has a slimy and had the smell of fish to it, like bad. They tasted fishy and just gross. We got the walnut chicken, broccoli chicken, curry chicken, and everything was completely inedible. My son and I have a tradition on Christmas Eve in which we eat dinner at a Chinese restaurant and have a couple if Mai Tais. This year we went to the Great Wall. The food was good and the service was decent considering how busy they were. The Mai Tai was all pineapple juice; no rum and a complete fraud. They were a total ripoff. Won't go there to eat dinner again but might pick up dinner to go. I have never paid so much for pineapple juice and you can bet it won't happen again. read more

This is the BEST Chinese restaurant EVER!!! The food is super good, they will make it without salt or MSG if you ask for them too, the service is always great. They make every customer feel like a VIP no matter how crowded the place gets (which can be very crowded). The wait is sometimes long but well worth it. I have been to this place several times but yesterday I went to lunch there with my family-a party of 5- and the bill was only $23. Yup. You read right. $23 for ALL OF US!!!! We got soup, we got crunchy wontons with the sweet and sour and mustard sauce, we got our entrees which came with fried wontons, eggrolls, and steamed or fried rice. My food was amazing and so abundant that I had some for dinner too. This place is a jewel in this otherwise wasteland known as the Antelope Valley. read more

My husband and i got served quickly- to a booth in the back next to the kitchen...absolutely disgusting.. Dirty DIRTY floors- sticky booths, my water cup had lipstick on it...no biggie... I just didnt drink from it. The waitress wasnt personal at all- was ridiculously fast and pushy with us ordering... Like i said im not picky at all....so my husband and i continue and order our food- kung pao and lemon chicken. Our food comes out and there is no flavor to anything..it said kung pao was spicy it wasnt at all. And the lemon chicken was deep fried and this sweet gooey skeet skeet lookin sauce alll over it! It didnt say any description on the menu what lemon chicken even was.. I should have asked. It was a nightmare! Needless to say right away my we asked for boxes because we didnt want to waste it and we told the waitress we had to go and if we can get the bill. We paid for the food walked outside - gave the food to some bum outside and walked over to malhis! Now that place is tha bomb! Im sorry to say this place was horrible! The food is pretty good, but they try to take advantage of their customers who do take out. They only half-filled the containers of 3-shreds and filled about 2/3 of the orange chicken. Great Wall has been my favorite Chinese restaurant for over 20 years. To me, it is no surprise that they have won the "Best Of" award in the Antelope Valley for at least six years running. Sadly, I don't get to enjoy Great Wall too much these days. I just dined for the first time in probably 4 or 5 years just the other day and it was as good as I remembered. I went for lunch by myself as my hosts for my weekend SoCal visit were unavailable. I was pleased to receive the hot tea and fried noodles complimentary and very soon after I sat down. For $5.95 I got a great lunch of wonton soup, pork lo mein, fried rice and two fried wontons. The soup was always my favorite. Two tender pork wontons in a light broth with some green onion. The rest of the food was good too but there is just something about that soup. The likes of which I have not found elsewhere. If I had to find something to pick on here, it is that the hot tea did not appear to be green tea. I would guess something more like English Breakfast. Also, they used to have those little after dinner mints at the pay counter. The kind that look like little pillows and melt quickly in your mouth. You know the sort. Regardless, Great Wall is still a favorite of mine and has changed very little in quality and appearance and I hope it never does. read more
