Sweet and sour chicken with white rice. Large egg drop soup with extra wontons
    J B.

This review strictly off of a doordash delivery. I ordered sweet and sour chicken with white rice a large egg drop soup with extra wontons . The delivery first off arrived faster than the estimated time. It also was perfectly packaged and it was hot the Most important part. The sweet and sour chicken is delicious and tinder with the perfect amount of crunch. The sweet and sour sauce is on point too. The egg drop soup is great. Did I mention it was hot and the fried wontons are the perfect touch. Always get extra cuz you are going to need them. I like the crunch. I definitely would recommend this place if doing doordash or just doing takeout. This is a win and I'm satisfied

    Chicken Fried Rice

Amazing food! Some of the best fried rice I've ever tasted! The prices are great for serving size, I'm able to make three meals out of just two dishes. And both times I've gotten an extra egg roll by mistake, but who complains about extra food?

Enjoyed my food from here. Customer service was gracious!! My new favorite spot!! The food was still fresh and hot once I made back to my stop.

Rushing to do orders, my Sweet and Sour Shrimp were not properly drained.

Received a rushed order today. My bag was saturated in excess frying oil that wasn't properly drained. Resulting in melted plates and grease anywhere the bag is placed.

Sichuan chicken and chicken lo mein

This place was quick and satisfying! Average price for the area and the food was quality! I ordered the Sichuan chicken, chicken lo mein, and shrimp eggroll. The cuts of chicken were great! No blubber, no tendons, and all white meat! I didn't love the flavor of the sauce, but that is just personal preference; it was cooked perfectly. I LOVED the lo mein; it was flavorful, moist, and not overcooked. The shrimp eggrolls were delicious! They were fresh and crispy. My only complaint was that for $2, I would get either an enormous egg roll or multiple smaller ones. However, I only got one average sized roll. Overall good experience, and I would recommend this place if you're in the area!

General Tso Chicken, Bourbon Chicken, Roast Pork Fried Rice, White Rice, Spring Rolls w/ a side of Sweet and Sour Sauce

Good, quick, satisfying Chinese take-out. Tried this place because it's near our neighborhood. Located in the Gentilly area of New Orleans in a low-key shopping center. Called in a to-go order (ready in 10 minutes) : General Tso Chicken, Bourbon Chicken, Pork Fried Rice, and Spring Rolls. General Tso Chicken was hot and made fresh to order! Bourbon Chicken was dry, sauce was not evenly disbursed, only came with 4 small pieces of broccoli. Pork Fried Rice was awesome! Spring Rolls we're great! They tasted fresh and were hand wrapped. Customer service is "just ok".

The rice could have been better but the chicken was excellent. I ordered thru the drive thru I waited for about 15 minutes for my food.

Decent takeout at affordable prices. My DoorDash total with service fee and tip was $35. Not bad on a lazy day when you don't feel like leaving your house. I bought the sesame chicken with lo mein, house special mei fun, and a small beef and broccoli. I didn't love the sesame chicken as it was mostly soggy breading with minimal chicken but everything else hit the spot. The food was packaged nicely and the portions were generous.

Triple Check your Food before you leave . They will give you old food. My dad had a plate from them and the shrimps was sour. I don't recommend. I ordered a plate today and you could clearly see that the shrimp was refried multiple times . She lied to my face and said the food is made to order , don't believe that . They're selling OLD FOOD

We had eaten a lot of meat on this trip, so we were desperately craving some vegetables. Visiting this restaurant was such a good choice. When we finally got our table, the service was quick and efficient. They brought out the complimentary fried dumplings and cucumber salad, which were good. We also ordered pork soup dumplings, fried rice, green beans, asparagus, spinach (?), and chicken wings. The star of the show was surprisingly the GREEN BEANS. Simply SPECTACULAR. We all agreed that was our favorite dish. My least favorite dish was the asparagus; it tastes plain. It's a pretty cute restaurant. There are some circular tables for family-style eating and regular tables for smaller groups. Miss Shirley introduced herself to us and checked on our table a couple times. We had seen a viral video of this restaurant, which showed the charming Miss Shirley, so it was really lovely to see how charming she truly is. They also gave free beignets at the end of the meal, which were delicious. Thank you so much for the delicious meal!!

When you first sit down, they bring out complimentary dumplings with a trio of sauces. We got the salt and pepper squid which were nice thick pieces of squid. The shrimp toast was pretty tasty. Nice crisp and stuffing. The steamed sticky rice in a lotus leaf was HUGE. That in itself could be a meal and the meats inside were a good hearty size not all chopped up. The shrimp toast and the squid come on top of greens which I didn't really like as they wilt with the heat of the items. The service was great! Our server was friendly, welcoming, and quick. The bathroom was quite pretty with the detailing on the doors and the dragon water sprout.

Rather than pursuing a burger, I decided to try this well regarded Chinese restaurant across the street from my hotel. This review is based on one item I got for takeout: Szechuan Beef. I am never one to equate quantity with quality. I'm also not well-versed in authentic Chinese. I'm mostly familiar with American Chinese. I ordered Szechuan beef expecting a dry stir fry of beef strips tossed with dried Szechuan peppers. Instead I got a 1 quart container with a zesty, moderately spicy broth loaded with tender strips of melt-in-your-mouth beef. This was pure heaven, and was an explosion of tangy flavor. The quart could've easily served a family of 4. That would just require another side of rice. This was just outstanding! The restaurant was compact yet inviting and service was great. I placed my takeout order on site at the counter, but they have table service.

When the bill arrived, I noticed I had been charged extra for the broccoli and also charged for shrimp--even though shrimp was already the protein included in the menu item I ordered. I politely questioned the charge, and the explanation I received didn't seem to match what was stated on the menu. I then asked to speak with a manager so the issue could be addressed. After quite a bit of discussion in the kitchen, the server returned, but instead of a manager coming out, I was given essentially the same explanation we had already discussed. I calmly explained why the charges didn't make sense and expressed that I was unhappy with how the situation was being handled. Unfortunately, there seemed to be little interest in resolving the concern or retaining my business. The food is fine, but my advice is to carefully review your bill before paying. Based on my experience, management does not appear particularly concerned when customers raise billing issues.

This week I wanted to visit spots successfully catering to locals and stumbled upon this tiny neighborhood hidden gem. Hidden because one would have easily missed it repeatedly when driving (or walking) past since the whole exterior was so unassuming at first glance. It only showed up on my radar when I meticulously searched for seafood spots on different platforms and randomly stumbled on their Facebook page. Best boiled crawfish and shrimp it said. Always fresh it exclaimed. Decently priced it stated. Well, this I had to go see it for myself and put to test. This was obviously a detour from my planned R&D in NOLA but was definitely a spot that must be designed for locals (and random tourists like me). This was confirmed immediately when I stepped in to see a long line of construction workers from the nearby site picking up lunch and some young kids digging into bags of shrimp and crawfish in utter delight. While looking at their sharpie streaked menu, I noticed quite a number of customers striking up conversations with the lady behind the plexiglass like long lost friends as they too picked up food to-go. Yeah, definitely a local friendly spot. Shrimp and crawfish by the pound was CHEAP in comparison to all the places in the area I've been. The best part? After getting back to the AirBnB, I realized just how good and fresh the seafood was! Succulent, very well seasoned, and not severely overcooked (like some spots around here prefer to serve it). I could taste the spices and aromatic vegetables used in the boil and found each bite absolutely tonguegasmic. Came for a pre-lunch snack and now back for a pre-dinner snack. Both the lady and gentleman had a smirk and muffled giggle as they saw me again. "You like it?" No, I love it. I'm here for a week and I'll be back every day you're open until I fly out of here. Take my money and give me thy awesome shrimp!

A quick Yelp…read moreand Google check showed great reviews, and even though the photos looked pretty simple, we decided to give it a try. Sometimes that's just how travel works and you cross paths with unexpected gems. The owner and his family couldn't have been nicer. This place has been around for over 30 years, a mix of convenience store and local eatery. The owner, an older Asian gentleman, warmly asked me and my husband where we were from as soon as he saw us. We think maybe because there aren't many Asian in the neighborhood and it instantly felt welcoming and we started to chitchat. His son was helping in the kitchen that day, and the guy taking our order (super friendly, too!) turned out to be his son-in-law, just stopping by on his day off. This place is small but we could tell most of the steady stream of takeout customers were regulars. We ordered about $50 worth of food: * C2 Fried Chicken (10 pcs) - $11.99 * P6 Shrimp Po'boy (12") - $5.99 * P8 Catfish Po'boy (12") - $7.99 * R5 Cajun Gumbo - $8.99 * Two cans of drinks It felt special that on our very first day in New Orleans, we got to try two of the city's most iconic dishes: Gumbo and Po'boys right here in this humble neighborhood spot. The fried chicken was super crispy, the Po'boys were packed with filling, and the gumbo was flavorful without being overly salty. We couldn't finish it all, so the leftovers became our breakfast the next morning. The shop itself is nothing fancy, just two folding tables and a few chairs but the food and the warmth of the people made it one of those memorable stops that really stick with us. We actually came back on our last day in New Orleans and wanted to try the Yak-Ka-Mein Soup which was recommended by the owner but it was closed on Memorial Day:( I guess we will save it for our next visit. If you ever find yourself in the area, I'd highly recommend trying their food. T&T Seafood & Po-Boys 548 Jackson Ave, New Orleans, LA 70130
