    Frozen Greek Yogurt w/ honey
    Katie N.

Really enjoyed the food here. It felt fresh and delicious. The chicken skewers were perfectly cooked and seasoned, a big hit for our young kids!! The rice was also delicious somehow. The felt like the salad was maybe my least favorite part of my plate. I would have liked a more traditional feta cheese rather than this shredded cheese, but it was okay. Really loved trying the frozen Greek yogurt! I will say it was tart (my kids really didn't like it) but I thought it was the perfect amount of tart once the honey was added. Next time I want to try with the baklava! I liked the ambiance here a lot. We sat indoors but I also thought the outdoor ambiance seemed fun and reminded me of being in Greece. Staff was friendly and food came out quick. A great fast casual option in the area.

This was delicious!! I had the chicken salad and it was a large portion but oh so delicious. Would definitely come back. Refreshing. I do not feel too full after eating this. So good!

Bright cafe with welcoming staff. The beef salad had three skewers (I took the picture halfway through my meal). The beef skewer was tender and well spiced. Portion size was bigger than expected. I would suggest reducing the amount of dressing in the salad though. The pickled onions were phenomenal and gave a sweet crunch to the dish. Got the Greek yogurt with honey and walnuts for dessert - loved it! I would say that the portion is for two people though.

I came here for lunch one afternoon. I ordered the lamb rice plate and the lentil soup. The lentil soup had some olive oil on top with a side of lemon. It's a good start to a meal, a pretty light soup. The lamb rice plate came with thinly sliced pieces of lamb, rice with some chickpeas, a Greek salad, pita and tzatziki. The rice was seasoned well with salt, had a nice flavor, the lamb was good with the tzatziki sauce. The Greek salad was refreshing with the cucumber, Kalamata olives, cherry tomatoes, feta, parsley, lemon and olive oil. Pita was fine, nothing too special. Overall good rice plate. This spot can be busy during lunch, but there's indoor and outdoor seating. Good place to eat lunch solo or with friends or with a group. Food comes out pretty quickly and parking sometimes is difficult but there are parking lots and garages nearby.

Okay I was quite pleasantly surprised by this spot. I got the chicken plate which comes with chicken skewers, pita, rice, and Greek salad. Everything was very tasty and I especially liked the rice which was nicely flavored as well as the chicken skewers. I also got the frozen Greek yogurt which was super good with a tart flavor. I got the honey and walnut drizzle on top--next time I would just the green yogurt on its own.

Located in Palo Alto Downtown, parking is plentiful and easy to find. There's a nearby parking garage with more than enough parking spots. Ordering is done on tablets. There's one inside and one outside. Chicken pita (5/5): it was so freaking delicious. The pita was crispy and the chicken and ingredients inside were so flavorful. Something about the sauce and everything just came together so nicely. The fries were also super yummy too! Service was exceptional. Upon sitting down my drink was brought immediately to my table. Water is easily accessible too. Tap to pay is accepted. Overall, Kali Greek Kitchen is an amazing spot. I would come back here.

What a find!! I love Greek food and was running errands in the California Ave. area, and stumbled upon Kali Greek Kitchen. The locale has plenty of indoor and outdoor tables. I walked inside and placed an order at the front counter and paid. You get a little sign with a number to go on your table to allow the server to know where to deliver your order. I selected a Cal Ave.-facing table outside and got my food fairly quickly. I ordered a lamb pita and made it a combo with a side of fries and a lemonade. The lemonade was refreshing! But LET ME TELL YOU 'BOUT THEM FRIES! Their fries were something else to me!!: PERFECTLY crispy and salted but with zero grease! They came with a side of ketchup to dunk in. The lamb pita was also very flavorful! There's what seems to be a lemony sauce in there--all very good! I left feeling full but also not feeling totally guilty for eating out. Everything was delicious, flavorful, and well balanced! I will 100% be returning as it's super close to my local gym. For my combo meal, tax, and tip, I paid a total of $26.19. Opaaaa!!

This restaurant offers amazing Greek food in Palo Alto! It's in a nice outdoor area that's closed off to traffic and it's fun to walk around after and/or dine outside. There are options for everyone here, even vegan options. The gyros are full of fresh veggies and the bread is perfectly fluffy.

Kali is a convenient option for solo or team lunches if you work in the area. The service is efficient and the place does get busy. The food always feels fresh and tastes delicious! I usually get the chicken rice plate which has a good mix of meat, rice and salad. Do check them out!

I ordered the Chicken Rice Plate for delivery at the office so service or ambiance doesn't apply. Overall, the meal was just very mid. The chicken skewers were dry, the rice was salty and the minimal amount of veggies and half a pita were soggy. I try to remember that this is delivery, but at $17.50, not something I'll order again.

Roasted Red Beet Hummus w/ Theta Cheese & Pita
    Vernon M.

I have experience two firsts here at Kali Greek Kitchen - both surprising and delightful! After eating at several Greek restaurants, I found this place down California Street in Palo Alto. The first surprise was the Roasted Red Beet Hummus. Normally hummus has a slightly bitter aftertaste, but I found none of it here. The blending of the roasted red beets imparted an earthy flavor with a slightly sweet finish - I absolutely enjoyed this! The second surprise is related to the hummus. With it came cut bite-sized strips of pita. What was surprising was whose freshness of that pita - warm, supple, moist and easy to tear! Some places the pita is as tough as jerky. Here at Kali, the pita seems freshly made, served right out of the oven. Paired beautifully with the roasted red beet hummus, the fluffy pita just melted in my mouth! Oh, so delightful! My wife ordered a Chicken Rice plate (my apologies for not having a photo of this, as she was so hungry, she delved in right away!), which came with white rice with a bit of pilaf mixed in to give a wonderfully cheeky texture to the rice, and a nice Greek salad - cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet onions and olives - light, crisp and refreshing. The chicken was tender and juicy. Whichever reviewers mentioned their chicken was dry was certainly mistaken. And another reviewer complained bitterly about everything being very salty. I could not find anything further than the truth. The meat was, I thought, lightly seasoned and flavorful. I look forward to eating here again soon!

I would highly suggest going elsewhere. I really wanted to like it and drove from downtown to this spot instead of going to Crapevine. The food here is awful..... the chicken was super dry and so was the lamb. It lacks flavor and the wraps were like salads more lettuce and carrots than meat. What was confusing is the wrap had orange slices and carrots. I have never gone to any Greek restaurants with those in a wrap. The fries were awful and tasted like the same as Wienerschnitzel. A wrap cost $16 and a meal brings it up to $25. The service was nothing special and the ambiance is the best thing about this place, but even then nothing really special about it. Two meals costed $50.20.

I've been ordering from them for a while, and their pita bread is unforgettable--absolutely delicious! The chicken plate is flavorful but a bit on the greasy side. This isn't the place for a "clean eating" meal, given the rich sauces and fatty cuts of chicken. Overall, it's a decent spot, especially if you're craving something indulgent, and don't care about dieting.

This place deserves all the praise. Every dish we had was outstanding, right down to the pistachio & sour cherry ice cream scoops. Here's what we had: Calamari (5/5): came with spicy and non-spicy aioli, super crispy and surprisingly light Grilled shrimp (5/5): with heads in a tomato feta sauce that took some extra bread to finish Chicken skewers (4/5): NOT ON THE MENU but our server was so great to recommend it because it was one of the most juiciest and tasty of kebabs. came with a side of yogurt sauce and potato wedges. Lamb chops (5/5): this is actually what we came here for! thank goodness they did not trim down all the surrounding fat because fat = flavor- you can cut it off after they cook it. Dessert was 3 different scoops of ice cream: pistachio (5/5), sour cherry (5/5), and baklava (4/5). One solo feedback: Update the chairs inside! Pleasantly surprised by the portions of the mains. They really didn't hold back on the protein, nice. On the flip side, they didn't have that much carbs but note they serve complimentary bread and olive oil as well. - Horiatiki (Greek salad): standard Greek salad, fresh feta - Saghanaki (sizzling cheese): heavy and salty but SO good, best shared amongst a group or else it'd be too much - Kolokithakia Tiganita (crispy zucchini chips): actually so addicting but the serving size was way larger than we expected lol - Pantzaria (roasted beets): delicious and refreshing! - Octapodaki tou Yiorgou (grilled octopus): so tasty but tiny lol basically one small tentacle cut up, we had to order 3 so it adds up - Arni Souvlaki (lamb skewers): huge skewers, good flavor, potatoes that came with it were really tasty too - Moscharisia Brizola (rib eye): big portion, maybe 12 oz? Everything about this restaurant makes you want to return. First, the hospitality is just extraordinary. Levent is the kind of manager every restaurant wishes they had -- gracious, welcoming, and genuinely thoughtful. He has a way of making every guest feel valued and comfortable, like you are being welcomed into someone's home rather than just seated at a table. And Melissa is an absolute delight. She is attentive, kind, and so pleasant that she somehow makes a great meal feel even better. The food is spectacular. The flavors are vibrant, fresh, and deeply satisfying without feeling heavy. We especially love the kebabs, salads, sauces, and dips -- everything is beautifully prepared and full of flavor. And just when you think the meal cannot get any better, the coffee, tea, and desserts arrive and remind you that yes, you definitely needed those too. No regrets, only happiness. What keeps us loyal is that Anatolian Kitchen gets every part of the experience right: delicious food, warm service, and a truly welcoming atmosphere. Some places are worth trying once. Next time, I'll definitely skip the rice and just get the garlic potatoes because they were delicious. The pita was also incredibly soft and fluffy. The drinks were excellent. We tried the raspberry lemonade and the mint drink, and both were refreshing. An honorable mention goes to the squeeze bottle sauces--they were so good! I believe one was a creamy garlic sauce and the other was a green sauce that reminded me of mint chutney. They really elevated the meal. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated with a great atmosphere, although it does get crowded and noisy during busy times. The service was good overall, but I did have to keep asking for water refills since the staff didn't check in very often. My biggest complaint was the restrooms. From those recommendations we ended up ordering, the Barbayani Pikilia, Octapodi, Moussaka, Lavraki, Paidakia, the Galaktoboureko, and the Whisper cocktail. We got the Barbayani Pikilia as a tasting platter, which had their House-Made Pita Bread along with a Pomegranate Dip, Tiroakafteri (a dip of Feta, Garlic, and Red Bellpepper), Tzatziki (a dip of Greek Yogurt, Cucumber, and Dill), Melitzanosalata (a dip of Roasted Eggplant and Herbs). All of it wasn't bad, but our favorite was the Melitzanosalata and Tzatziki for their fresher taste. The other dips, especially the Tirokafteri was our least favorite since it was so heavy with all the Feta in it. The Octopodi had one Charbroiled Octopus Tentacle with Red Wine Vinaigrette, Oregano, and the House Pesto Sauce. The Octopus was cooked perfectly tender, and had a fresh taste with the sauces. The Moussaka was a casserole with Roasted Potatoes, Grilled Eggplant, Lamb Ragout, and Bechamel Sauce. This whole dish blended together nicely, especially with the Bechamel Sauce. The Lavraki was a whole Mediterranean Seabass, which was cooked perfectly and was nice and flakey. The Potatoes and Braised Greens were also cooked nicely and had great flavor. The Paidakia was Lamb Chops with Potatoes and Greens, which also had good flavor and was cooked perfectly. The Galaktoboureko was a nice finish for dessert, being mild in sweetness, and having nice textures combining the Semolina Custard with Phyllo Dough. The Whisper cocktail had Thyme Gin, Elderflower, Ginger, and Chamomile, which really blended well together. Thankfully it wasn't too sweet and had the right amount of alcohol. However, the later service we received or should I say, didn't receive put a damper on our evening. After our original waiter left, another waiter took over who completely ignored us and never came to check on us. Also, when we had our meals boxed up, the waiter that boxed them threw out some of the dishes, which we later realized when we got home. Overall, everything was cooked perfectly and well made, however some of the customer service needs some work.

The vegies were good and well roasted, unfortunately not the onions. It took a long time for them to roast (normal). I tried to order it in advance so they would be very broiled but they never picked up the phone (though try had at least 7/8 employees and 1 customer at that time). I know it was one customer because i arrived 5 minutes later and the place was empty. The rice looked excellent but was dry and with no taste which i was dissapointed by. The salad dressing is where everything went wrong. It had a terrible sour taste to it and i was afraid to get sick but luckily did not. The sweets sold actually looked fresh (unlike sf stores) but the backlava was not the best i ever had. Overall i would shop here again but probably not eat lunch here again unless i ordered with no salad and lots of advance - but im vegetarian and im assuming the meat items are better.
