It's fresh, tasty, simple and affordable. This outlet doesn't make lentil soup and I wish it did!

Not sure what took me so long to give a review of this gem of a place but better late than never…read more I've come to 1 of 1 a few times so far and it's safe to say I've tried most things on the menu. Real fresh, quality, homemade ingredients mixed in with passion and love for food with delightful twists on memorable sandwiches. Bread is fantastic and so are the awesome drinks to go with your meal. Some of my favorites are the chicken Caesar sandwich, No Sleep till Gravesend, Kitchen Confidential and Grilled Cheese and in the winter, a delicious tomato soup. They also have breakfast on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and you don't want to pass up the yummy Brioche rolls the delicious combos go on. Place is small but a few tables are nice and it's always great on the go. Staff is great and Josh is curating this really authentic spot. Keep it up everyone!

They offer a wide variety of signature sandwiches, or you can customize your order. We had the turkey club combo with bacon , avocado and fresh mozzarella. The ingredients are sourced locally. They have four bread choices. The sandwich was excellent, bread soft and seasonings were a perfect compliment. Prices are competitive. I will be back to try other selections.

Sat in a pretty big round table near the bathroom. I feel the menu changed since last time or maybe I don't remember. But we used to get the fresh mozzarella with basil , tomatoes and glaze and I count find it or maybe it was worded differently nonetheless we ordered calamari. My family said they were ok. Me and my husband ordered the lasagna it took so long to come but again we understood it was busy. It was worth the wait so delicious. The girls had a pizza they absolutely loved it. I had pinot grigio nice cold and refreshing. My husband first got a stella on draft then got a old fashioned he said it was the best he's ever had so that says something. I was in the mood for pasta but I didn't see anything on the menu with something like broccoli and garlic with olive oil. We also saw a few ants but as long as they weren't roaches it wasn't a big deal lol

My favorites are the Margherita and Zucchini (white sauce). You can buy individual slices as well. La Villa is such a great local gem and definitely worth a stop in!

We come to sit, talk, share stories, our personal experiences and of course sip a fabulous beverage. I'm seeing this more and more as I visit fabulous coffee places.. Konditori, Villager, Bakeri, Hidden Grounds, and now Velvette Brew. First, the space: light, airy and I can imagine with their big windows, a sun soaked place on a sunny day. There are plenty of seats: tables and high top tables. Their menu offers a bit of everything from soup, sandwiches, quiche and pastries. There is a nice option of beverages hot/cold. Today, was a bit damp so I ordered a hot chai with bite size checkerboard cookies to dip. The barista was very pleasant and I found a seat while waiting for my chai. I see a lot of patrons working in laptops, some meeting up to talk and sip and even the barista chatted with a local patron. Love it! My chai was piping hot and absolutely delicious. The chai was frothy, rich, the black tea leaves infused with cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, sweetener, and milk. I savored every sip and complimented the barista. It is always great to find a new coffee place. I expect to be a loyal local at Velvette Brew. They also host music events and have a collaboration with Cry Baby Ice Cream. It is located in the heart of Park Slope. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Velvette Brew 279 5th Avenue B63 to 3rd and 5th or R to Union Street, 10 minute walk.

They have a good amount of tables and chairs in the shop so a good place to grab a seat and chit chat with a friend. They offer a few bites to eat but nothing gluten free for this celiac girlie. The tacos comes in 4 per order and you can choose 2 different meat per order. I had the al pastor and shrimp taco. They were both ok flavor and taste wise but the 3 little shrimp was almost comical on the tortilla. (see picture) The birria sliders was good. We also ordered mussels, ribs and steak quesadilla from the regular menu to share. The ribs were ok and lacked flavor but it does come with a green sauce so maybe that's where you suppose to get the flavors. The quesadilla was good. The mussels were ok, they were fresh but again broth lacked flavor. The service was a bit slow on a Friday evening but I only saw 2 servers and one was also making the drinks. The place has a modern feel and looks nice with a small backyard for outdoor seats. They sat us in the back by the door and kitchen so not the best table since it's also by the trash cans. I would advise not to sit there if possible. FYI, it was not crowded with many open tables but I guess they sat us there due to lack of servers.
