I'd really like to give this place a higher rating, I love the concept: fresher ingredients from locals. There are a couple items on the menu that I love and I will continue to visit Green Bliss. Unfortunately, there are a few key areas that cost a couple stars for me. But they are areas that can be improved on and I hope to update this review in the near future with a higher rating! I'll start with the plus points: The Vibe: This place has a sort of hipster vibe. When you eat here, you feel like you're somehow doing something better for the environment and the community at large. The food items are unique. The decor is very..hm..wholesome/earthy... For lack of better words. For instance, they advertise the use of recycling coffee grinds; they offer homemade looking greeting cards for sale; and, well, it's called Green Bliss! Every time I've entered I've seen most of the tables full with people studying or reading. They must be regulars. They have a very nice seating area in a shared courtyard in the back, which I enjoy. It's located in the heart of downtown Fullerton, surrounded by shops and other eateries. It feels like a gem! My personal favorite dishes are: the Avo-campanini and the oatmeal blast smoothie (although I usually get it without the sweetener). The unfortunate cons: The wait time is extremely long. I can't quite figure out why. At one of my first visits, I figured I must have arrived a at a busy time- it was around lunch. The second time, I waited an exceptionally long time and I was there after the lunch rush. The third time, there was no line ahead of me, and only one person waiting for their order. I figured, this time it should be quick. I ordered a hot black tea and a sandwich (minus the bacon substitute). There were three people working behind the counter. It was 9am and I was heading to an appt at 9:15am directly across the street, so I figured I had plenty of time. Um, no, I was late. The service- This may have been a fluke occurrence, but one time when I went for lunch with a friend, I waited around ten minutes for a hot black tea before realizing I was supposed to pick it up at the counter. I saw a drink at the counter and asked the lady behind the counter if the drink was a black tea. Her response, "If it's hot, probably." (?) Anyway, I tasted it and it was mine. The Menu- I really think it's important that cafes/restaurants make the nutrition facts available. Unfortunately, you'll never really know the sugar, fat, calorie content if you eat here. Am I the only one who thinks their coffee is really bitter? I got an iced coffee once and it was basically undrinkable. I tried again a few months later and got a cafe au lait with nutmilk....not as bad, but still....pretty bad. I drank about half before giving up. I don't get it! I want to love this place because so many people do, but I don't think I'll get coffee from there ever again. The food is yummy, though. G-free panini's!!!!!! I used to love Green Bliss and I've gone many times since it's down the street from my office. I also used to hold many meetings here with my colleagues, however some things have changed and I will no longer be going back. Here are the reasons why: 1. the bathroom is ALWAYS broken. Please fix it already. 2. Service is VERY slow. I get it, if you are going for lunch it should take longer since everything is made from scratch but I go right at 7am and my food still takes about 15-20min to come out. 3. Wi-Fi is now limited to ONE hour only. Ridiculous. 4. They changed the bakery where they got all their pastries- now they are not tasty AT ALL. They used to have the best chocolate croissant. That is no longer the case. 5. Service is not as friendly as it used to be. Farewell, Green Bliss. You are no longer on the top of my list. read more

I really want to like this place, after having had 4 or 5 meals here (lunch and dinner), but I just can't give it a glowing recommendation. The food is way overpriced given the small portions and the service is very slow. Particularly disappointing is the savory mushroom bread pudding. It is mostly mushy bread with some cheese and very few mushrooms -- and THAT is almost $10 after tax! As for the chickpea curry sandwich -- ehh, nothing to write home about. Not particularly flavorful. The kale salad is probably my favorite thing here. The dressing is great, but can taste too salty after a while. The almond milk tasted like water, mocha was so faint I thought it was a regular latte and the whole milk latte he thought the coffee was burned and rank so just flushed $10! IN SHORT: Good location, great food, great drinks, slightly higher price but for a good reason. Go. Just go. MORE DETAILS: I came here about 6 months ago for the first time to pump out a paper for class. I typically get my best work done in cafes; there's just something about the atmosphere, the people, the food, the smells, and the free WiFi with purchase that makes writing papers easier for me. Today I came here because the internet that the other cafe I normally go to wasn't working properly. I have certain criteria for my cafes. They HAVE to be able to take credit/debit card, they HAVE to have some sort of milk alternative (lactose intolerant), they have to have reusable cups for their in-house coffees, and they have to have some sort of non-dessert foods. This place has it all! Never mind how gorgeous all of the people who work here are (which is enough reason to study more often), and never mind the great music. Lets start with the coffee. The "nut milk" is made in house (go ahead. Tell all the dirty jokes you like, the stuff is amazing), and the coffee is always made to perfection. The fact that they didn't spit into my 12-ounce-iced-latte-with-nut-milk-and-not-too-much-sweetener-in-my-bring-along-coffee-cup makes me love them all the more. The food is misleading. You walk in thinking the organic-local-fair-trade fairy was born and had died here, and that you're going to get charged an arm and a leg for something tasteless and tiny. Wrong-wrong-wrong! SO wrong! The portions are misleadingly large, the price (for the quality and flavor) is excellent, and the flavor is amazing! I specifically recommend, while they have it, the Kale Salad and the Green Acai bowl. You will sit down wondering what the hell you just ordered, and leave wondering how the hell you can make it yourself. Finally, the studying situation. I frequently stay at a cafe between 2-8 hours (don't worry, I order a lot of coffee and leave when things get hectic). This is the perfect place for studying, it's just the perfect little cafe. Went in for some lunch because I like their teas and I like food that is on the healthier end. But after reading these reviews I'm going to have to agree with the service not being that great. I've been in about 10 times now and I want to say that I have only had good customer service once. No one seems to smile or even greet you to let you know that you will be helped. I just don't know if that's the vibe that they're going for... Or if they just hate where they work. They could be genuinely nice people but are having a bad day? But almost every time I've been?? As much as I want to love Green Bliss, I feel like it slightly misses the mark. Dont get me wrong, the mason jar water cups, chalkboard menus, and cute decor make for a cozy environment and a quaint meeting place. But in all honesty, if it wasn't my friends always choosing this place, I doubt I would ever come back. The few times I've come here, I've tried their acai bowls, green smoothie, and coffee. The acai was completely bland and watery, and the only redeeming quality were the toppings. The green smoothie was pretty good except that the ginger was very overpowering. I have been going to Green Bliss since it opened. I used to go to college near Fullerton, so I frequented it more than once a week for homework purposes. I recently went here for the first time in a long while and I'm still so pleased with how wonderfully Green Bliss has maintained the strength of its healthy, organic food options and excellent coffee choices. For seating, I highly recommend the outside courtyard area- if the weather is nice (which c'mon, it's Southern California), it is the best place to be. The community table is also good for those wanting to sit and stay for a while to get work done. For food, I recommend the Avo-Campania Panini or the Farmer's Market breakfast sandwich. Of course, they have a healthy and delicious array of salads as well. Mood: Hankering for an excellent cappuccino Initial Desires: Good space to study at, excellent cappuccino, less than pretentious atmosphere, organic or lactose-intolerant free as much as possible. Expectations: Low The cappuccino was excellent, though very small. It was filling however and the soy milk was foamed to smooth and silky perfection. I am not a regular drinker of coffee so I was rather pleased that it was an excellent cup. I also had the Jump Start Bowl which came with oatmeal, raisins, hemp seed, cut kiwi, cut pear, cut apples, soy milk, honey and raw cane sugar. It was excellent and I think $6 is appropriate pricing for the size given. I already checked-in and left a tip on my p'one but the parking structure area basically has available all-day parking on Sundays. I wouldn't say the curb is all-day parking but if you check the signs, most of them will say "except for Sunday" when it comes down to the time requirement. All in all, really enjoyed the cappuccino (though I wish they allowed for a bigger size -- more foam yumm) and do look forward to when I can acquire a nice studying space as well as a meal. :) read more

I only had time to get a vanilla latte here and it's so yummy! The coffee they use smells like they had just been roasted and the latte itself is so smooth, creamy, and well balanced. Their vegetarian menu looks very appetizing so I definitely want to go back and try their food. Parking is a bit of a struggle because it's in the downtown area, but I really like the relaxing feel to the place. Oh yeah, added plus, everyone there is so friendly, nice, and so organic! I really appreciate what this establishment is trying to do within the community. The food is locally sourced (within California), there is an emphasis on minimal water usage, encourages an environment for work and meet-ups to discuss similar issues mentioned above, compostable materials and produces some tasty products to boot. The portions could be a bit larger. I had two slivers of avocado, as posted in the photo stream. Although the salad itself was tasty, the price point does not seem match the product that was paid for. I definitely left feeling pretty hungry after finishing my meal and leaving ample time to digest and let my body register what was consumed. I did not get the piece of toasted bread that was mentioned in previous posts. I went based on the recommendation of a friend. I don't think I will be returning after this. read more

If you happen to be in the area you must give this place a try .The ambiance is very charming and captivating.I just like the overall feel, it's just different in a good way.The actually restaurant itself is very small. There are a few tables near the counter where you order and a big wooden table in the back. There is also seating located in the court yard out back. Food wise it's pretty much vegetarian. I don't believe I recall any meat dishes on the menu. I had the chickpea/curry panini and it was delicious,the bread was nice and toasty . I love chickpea and I absolutely love curry : ) . My friend ordered the red pepper with hummus in which I thought was okay. You get a choice of soup or salad. We both got soup of the day which was squash puree , too sweet for me but hey my friend down the whole thing. Price wise I think this place is expensive. New restaurant in downtown Fullerton based on great principles-local, organic fare and vegetarian and vegan options. I was hoping to find a menu online and phone number to place my order for pick up, but, their website isn't quite updated with that information. Thankfully, it was close enough to walk, order and wait. The food was delicious-I had the Avo-Campania Panini, which included mushrooms, avocado, artichoke hearts, basil pesto on grilled multi-grain sourdough and accompanied with a side salad. The sandwich was excellent-good portions, great flavor, and fair price at $9. Previously I also tried their chocolate chip cookies (WOW, amazing) and yogurt parfaits. Green Bliss is a true treasure. I love the food, the vibe and the sustainable business approach. Of the foods I have tried, I have loved. I only wish I could try more, but I have a wheat allergy, so I can only eat the things they can make gluten-free. My favorite panini is the avo-campania, though the curried chickpea comes as a close second. The coconut bacon in the BLT is also delicious. I go to Green Bliss fairly often to get some coffee, a bite to eat and to do some work. A colleague and I have also had a few meetings there. I just wish the menu had slightly more options and that they'd open for dinner...more deliciousness please! The only downside is that sometimes one of the staff seems to make my lattes a bit on the watery side. For the inconsistent and sometimes watery latte, I'd downgrade by a quarter to half a point, but since I can't, I'll round up because most of the time, the coffee is quite excellent. Green Bliss was a whimsical visit with a couple of my friends. The place has a pretty different vibe compared to other coffeeshops I've been to. Pretty much reminding me of a Pottery Barn, the place didn't seem very warm and homey compared to other places I've been to. The seating is also a pretty botch situation, especially for those large groups (or for groups with more than 2 people). I ordered their blueberry muffin drink, and was nicely satisfied. Pretty much a blueberry tea latte, the tea definitely made itself known, as the drink seemed pretty thin and not well-rounded with the steamed milk. I tried some of my friend's Klatch Panama DonPachi pour over, and really enjoyed it. Probably should have opted for their coffee selection, as they have a solid list of high quality beans. I guess I enjoyed the drinks a bit, but the place didn't seem as alluring as many people have raved about on their reviews. But, portions are small for what you pay for. Drinks here are good and the presentation is pleasant. Seating is difficult to find. There's only a few spots for 2-3 person groups inside. 4 people or more would probably be better outside. But even outside is pretty limited. Overall, it has a nice quiet cafe ambiance. Not a bad place to study if you can find a seat. It's clean, staff is friendly and it's a beautiful, well-lit place. My first time here I got the vegan cookie icecream thing and that was really good. I was surprised that it had a strange taste to it, but it was a good strange! (If that makes any sense) I have yet to try actual coffee, or food but as far as first impressions go- I'm definitely coming back. While I liked the drink I ordered, a mocha it took entirely too long to get. I can appreciate a hand crafted beverage and the time it takes to make one, however when I arrived there last Sunday, there were three people in front of me ordering. One, a person alone and two, a couple with a child. I waited in line over 13 minutes to place my order (I randomly know this because I looked at my phone to reference time when I sent a text at first while waiting in line). The gentleman taking the order kindly said "thank you for your patience," which was nice of him. However, the whole ordering set up just wasn't flowing that day. It then took another 5 to get the drink. They have a sign stating that your drink will be made to order, so please be patient. I simply think the time was too long. Love this place! I'm not vegetarian, but I do like to eat more veggies and less meat. I've tried the the mushroom/avocado panini, classic grilled cheese, and the curried chickpea salad panini. They're all soooo good. My favorite is the mushroom/avocado panini. There's so much flavor. I'm a big fan of the coffee too! I have been here a total of two times (in one week). There is definitely some inconsistencies with the customer service. My first time there the workers were great. However, my second time around I felt as if I was an inconvenience to the employees. Not to mention, the drinks I ordered took what seemed like an eternity to get in my hands--I'm sure I've gotten faster service at a Starbucks... yikes! For lunch I had the caprese flatbread and a banana-strawberry smoothie. I've definitely had some better nana-berry smoothies in my day. The flatbread was pretty good. I would give it 3.9 stars out of 5. I just felt it lacked a bit in flavor. A few days later I went back for breakfast as I was dying to taste their coffee (not really), but I went anyway. I had a vanilla latte and the berry acai bowl. The berry bowl was perfect. Absolutely delicious. The vanilla latte was my first latte cup ever, so I don't have anything to compare it to really. Would I buy it again? Um, maybe. Overall, would I return to/ recommend Green Bliss? Sure. I suppose the shoddy customer service is worth hurdling through for some good, healthy food. read more

I asked for a berry Acai bowl with granola on the side and got half a cup of Acai in a to go container and a full cup of granola in another cup... Really.. So I'm paying almost $10 for half a cup of berry Acai. Are u kidding me. Mothers Market or Nektar gives u a way better amount for your dollar, sorry green bliss I once was a fan but now I am never coming back. Amazing little cafe in Downtown Fullerton. I was feeling adventurous so I ordered the kale salad. I think this was the best salad I have ever had. I love kale, kale loves me; it's pretty much a symbiotic relationship. So when I say that Green Bliss' Kickin' Kale salad is pretty much the best I've ever had, that's a bar set pretty high! Sesame seeds, generous pieces of fresh avocado, carrots, onions, and cucumber, and an oh-so-amazing ginger tahini dressing contribute to a blissful experience. The salad is plenty a meal on its own, and comes with a toasted piece of french bread. Their Garlic Mushroom flatbread is also pretty darn delicious, and presented beautifully on a cross-section of a tree trunk. However, I was pretty bummed that there were no chili flakes or hot sauces available to add some heat. Love the vibe of this place, and you can usually grab a table in the beautiful courtyard as long as there isn't an event or wedding taking place. A friend recently stated upon walking in the door, "I feel like I've just entered an episode of Portlandia." Geez, play it cool dude. read more

I felt like I was back in Williamsburg, NY when I visited this charming little restaurant in the heart of downtown Fullerton. The wall shelves feature lots of neat "green" products and there is ample seating in the front, by the bar, and in the back. A water station and mason jars are available, but they do have a lot of different iced tea flavors you can try. Their food was in fact delicious and I happily broke my "no meat, no eat" rule to opt for their mushroom and garlic flat bread (just divine!) and their kickin' kale salad (which is quite true to their word). However, only 4 stars because their service is quite slow (only 1 register and 1 cook) so you wait quite a while for your meal. Also, they do run out of items often - good thing I snagged the last flatbread! Still, Green Bliss is a solid healthy cafe to try. read more

I had their salad which was pretty good, but I wasn't too fond of the dressing...
