This place is very popular and can get very busy, which is well-deserved. The wait can be long, but you can order drinks and wait on the (heated) patio. The $2 and $3 EVERYTHING (burgers, vego burger options, fries, snacks, beers and even cocktails) is addicting, and even after binge-ordering it's difficult to break the bank here. The service is very short, with servers often seeming overwhelmed and understaffed, but not unfriendly. The servers are all extremely knowledgable, and even the bartenders knew the ingredients in just about everything on the menu, but they too can come across as short because of how busy this place can be. The food is phenomenally good, but sometimes the sliders come out looking better than others. Some of them are perfect, others taste great but are pretty wonky and lopsided and falling apart. Experience from a Saturday night, post-DCFC game, ready for a "hey, we just got our liquor license" drink and a handful of these legendary sliders I kept hearing so much about. No disappointments. Green Dot might be a little off the downtown beaten path (Oh, no worries cab driver, I'll just bring up Google map for you........................d'oh), but of course, worth it. Extra points for a lit parking lot. The atmosphere is warm, wooden, and equestrian themed. Fill this with a hundred starving and thirsty footy fans and you've got yourself one hell of an ambiance. Plenty of tables, booths, and bar stools are available. However on this night it was mostly standing room. On to the food and drink. Drink! Two hearty vodka tonics and a ControversiALE on tap = $9. Wait...........what? So apparently sliders aren't the only deal of the day at this establishment. Food! We found a happy little corner for ourselves and began what would become a night long taste test. :::Intermission::: OooOoo, foosball table! Back to food! Maybe it was the size of the crowd, but on this particular night Green Dot was serving a limited menu. No worries, every fry save for one was available, and all the staple favorite sliders were as well. The cheeseburger is melt-in-your-mouth perfect. Order two then be prepared to order one more. The BCT is Bacon-Cucumber-Tomato Jam-Aioli. Green Dot boasts quality ingredients, so even the damn cucumber was delightful. My bacon wasn't as crisp as I would have liked, but bacon is bacon and regardless I enjoyed it. The fries. Oh my, the fries. Here is my recommendation. Bring a group, and ordered everything. Seriously. By the end of the night we had tried almost every fry option. They're petite and crispy, bursting with flavor, and then bursting with even more flavor as the ingredients become more diverse. I favored the Truffle and Herb and the Le Poutine choices. By the end of the night we'd settled into an available booth, started our second meal, and moved on to the better liquor (whopping $5 each). I thank Green Dot for being so accommodating to a bunch of futbol fans. The service was quick, the food spot-on, and the TV viewing appropriately set to different match highlights. I went here with my sister while I was visiting home and was super excited about it as I'd heard a bunch about it from her and from other friends. The inside was a little dark and divey and I loved it. Living in NYC where highly priced everything is the norm, I was still was blown away by how cheap everything was. Great beers on tap, good cocktails - all for $3. Say whaaaa? My sister and I ordered 6 sliders to share along with truffle and Cajun fries, again, all extremely cheap in my book. The black bean and mystery meat (alligator) where my least favorites, with the fried chicken and Cuban being the stars of the experience... And the truffle fries. Must get the truffle fries. Green Dot Stables is located in a very unassuming place in Detroit. There doesn't seem to be much else around and it might surprise you how well of business they do here. It's not close to downtown or any other major thoroughfares that I know of. My friends and I went here at 8pm on the Tuesday night between Christmas and New Year's and I can't believe how packed they were on this time and day! Maybe it was because of the week of the year? Or maybe they're always this busy? I recommend giving yourself plenty of time to get a table! You might need it. It was still pretty busy when we were done around 10:30. Though my friend told me they had $2-3 craft beers, I wouldn't believe it until I arrived and ordered one. Or two. Or three. I can see why they do so well, it definitely brings the customers in the door. Their prices on food aren't bad either. They are popular for their "sliders" (see: small burgers). The unique thing here is the range of sliders on the menu and the many types. This isn't White Castle! Much higher quality. We were told we had an hour wait, but it ended up being a little less. There is room for waiting inside, so you have to go outside on their back patio to wait for your table. This would be awful int eh winter, but no worries: the back patio is enclosed and heated. You can order your drinks at the bar and head out back. They do not serve food nor drink on the back patio, at least in the winter. But I bet they'd make a killing if they did! Of course then their waiting area would be full of people ordering their cheap craft beer, so I guess this makes sense. It encourages people to want/need to get a table eventually. The staff are pretty strict to their rules about where you can wait, where you can sit, etc. I was scolded for sitting at the bar and not wanting to order food, only a drink. To be fair, I only sat down to order my drink to avoid the line. So, lesson learned? Once we were seated at our table, it was pretty nice. The service was not stellar, but they were very busy. I just don't feel like the staff had a really positive attitude toward the customers. A birthday party at the table next to ours was told they weren't allowed to have a cake in the restaurant. Another example of how strict they are on their rules. (no exceptions, not even on your birthday!). I had a serious hipster vibe from the staff, not the friendly hipster-type, the snobby hipster-type. Our server changed on us in the middle of our meal and it was explained that they were changing sections.... ?? Our food was a whole different story and the primary reason I'll be going back here as soon as I get the chance. I ordered the black bean slider and the quinoa slider and some french fries. All were delicious and worth the price I paid! Although I am vegetarian, the others at my table all ordered meat and enjoyed their sliders and fries as well. They won't split the bill here (again: service) so don't plan for that. The food here is so unlike something you can get anywhere else that I know of and they have great beer for cheap, that I could see this being someplace I try to go whenever I'm in Detroit. I love Xiao x Traveler. Here is why. We know Xiao seems like a very reserved man. He seems rough, rude, cold, and distant on the outside. But on the inside, he really is a caring man. The Traveler helps bring that side out. Xiao is very hesitant to be with people, and not for the reason they think. He avoids them because he doesn't want his karmic debt to affect them, which can make him seem like he doesn't want to be around them. But the Traveler spends time with Xiao, bringing him out of his shell, and teaches him newer customs of Liyue. The Traveler also takes Xiao to the more bustling places of Liyue, as well, and Xiao goes along with it for the Traveler because he trusts them. Along with the fact that the Traveler is very resistent to karmic debt as well. We can also clearly see that Xiao has a soft spot for the Traveler. Sure, he's a bit rude when they first meet, but they slowly warm up to each other, and Xiao even saves the Traveler. And I think that is beautiful. They are in love and no one can tell me otherwise. read more

Best sliders I've ever had! This place is great if you want to broaden your pallet. I've heard of Kimchi before and to have had it on a slider with Peanut Butter (Korean Slider) was bizarre but still delicious. What makes this place so great is the variety they carry. They have sliders that kids would eat and others that may not be for the adventurous type. I also loved their location. I'm a huge Red Wings fan and knowing that it's a couple blocks from where I park makes it a great place to dine at before/after the game. If you're worried about how much money to spend, you will not need to worry here. I've seen sliders for $5 but these are $2 or $3 a piece. The quality of these sliders are very good and worth a couple bucks. Don't bother wasting your time at White Castle. Considering how steady they were, it took a while to get our sliders but the service itself was great. The staff was very friendly and always making sure we were happy. I've heard about this hidden gem a lot since moving back to Detroit through Yelp, and I've had it on my radar for some time now. Being that the weather's getting nicer, I'm getting around to trying more out of the way spots and this was on my short list. I came here last night with my date, and boy, am I glad I did! We both had a really good time! Place is easy to find, and it was already busy at 6PM on a Saturday night. I think it's always busy, (from what I could tell) and very popular. There must have been a Tigers game earlier, so factor that in as well, with a lot of the run off crowd eating off the booze that they had at the game. Date and I entered and didn't see a line, but we weren't sure if we were supposed to wait to be seated or just hang out. A host came up to us and took our name within seconds, despite the place being busy as all get out. He said that there was a 45 minute wait and directed us to the outdoor patio where we could sit and drink while we wait. We went outside and hung out while we waited for our name to be called. Here's where I deduct a star. let me explain. So, being that it was early in the evening, I didn't want to start washing down beer quite yet, and I was a bit parched and had an empty stomach. I wanted water, and while my date went with a beer, I asked the bartender for water. He said he didn't have any, and directed me to the igloo cooler at the end of the bar. seriously? No water? I have to get it from the servers inside who are overwhelmed with a zillon patrons? C'mon! You can't at least sell me bottled water for a dollar? Oh, and it's cash only as well. I can live with cash only but NO WATER? The bartender was extremely nice and accommodating. It took 3 of us to get more water out of the cooler, but it worked in the end. I know this sounds overly critical, but I've never been to such a popular place where I can't get water or pop at the bar. Anyways, after a wait, we finally got seated. Our server was awesome! He was hilarious, knowledgeable and made the experience awesome. We asked what the mystery meat was, but decided to pass. I went with the Corned Beef, Philly Cheesesteak and the Cheeseburger sliders with regular fries. BY FAR my favorite was the Corned Beef!! Next time I'm here I'm getting more! My date got a few different ones (I can't remember) but he got one with bacon, a Dearborn ham and something else. He also got these special fries, which I can't remember the name of, but they were good. We liked the fries but found that after about halfway through they became a bit much. A great stop prior or possibly after a Detroit sporting event. All the food items are between like 2.00 and 4.00, so you def. won't break the bank. I'm totally in love with this place. We tried it out on a Saturday but at an off time (about 3:00 in the afternoon). I'm sure they probably get packed at night....but for a first time visit this was perfect. There were 4 of us and between us we practically tried everything on the menu. My favorite slider was the BBQ bacon. I also had the BCT (Bacon-Cucumber-Tomato Jam-Aioli). Um yes, I do have a slight bacon addiction. Also sampled the plain ole cheeseburger slider, the mac & cheese (which was my least favorite thing), french fries and the venison chili fries. My hubby loved the cuban slider. Wow! This little gem was amazing. It's kind of off the beaten path but well worth it for their very unique and tasty sliders. We tried the cheeseburger, mystery meat ( Hungarian sausage) coney, Korean and fried chicken. It's hard to pick a favorite because they were all so good. The fried chicken slider tastes like chicken and waffles which is heaven in your mouth. The coney slider uses a venison chili which was really good. Variety here is your friend. The drinks similarly seem VERY cheap $3-6 depending, but you'll soon realize that the mixed drinks are quite watered-down and the "on the rocks" are a fraction the size. We had a party of 5 and requested two tables pushed together as it was not busy. The "manager " said no put them at a four. Meanwhile sat two people in a large booth. We have been coming there for years and we're there to celebrate a birthday. It was so crowded at the table there was no room to move once the food arrived. The mystery slider of the day has always been the best bet.. If choosing a menu slider, the buffalo chicken and au poivre are great....I am salivating just thinking about that buffalo chicken! I met a friend here after a big steak dinner @ Clawson's Steak House and its pretty much a tavern that has a couple of TVs and it gets pretty loud and rowdy here which is cool. One of the best places I have been in the past year. Hipster paradise. Cheap craft beers, and cheap, delicious sliders...and an incredible variety of the both (beers and the slider.) Like every rustbelt city, there are a ton of local beers to choose from. Green Dot represents them well, but has a more extensive offering than that. As for the sliders, they offer pretty much every combination you can imagine. I think I had one with tempeh, a pulled pork one, and a spicy PB&J, amongst others. Good fries too. It's an old fashioned, dark bar, that seems like it hasn't been updated since the 50s. That isn't to say it is poorly maintained. Just that it has an incredible anachronistic atmosphere. My boyfriend and I have probably been here over 100 times combined. We have pretty much tried everything on the menu at least once! They always have a "Mystery Meat" slider and new sides to try which is awesome since we come so much and like trying new things! We have had everything from Kangaroo to Shark. Where else are you gunna try those foods?! Honestly the coolest thing about this place are the prices. They could so easily jack them up just like every other cool hipster restaurant yet, they still keep everything in the $3-$5 range. You can come get a nice buzz going and get super full for $15 a person or less! Our favorite time to come is after Slow Roll on Monday night. We speed there right after our ride and refuel with awesome burgers and truffle fries (my fave). Biggest downfall is that its ALWAYS packed. Almost no matter when you come. Anytime on a weekend you should prepare to wait at LEAST an hour or more. Its not too bad when just the two of us go but if you're with a big group consider going somewhere else. Love this place! There is almost always a wait, but there is a bar outside (covered and heated I think) where you can have drinks while you wait. The drinks are great -especially for the low prices. The food has yet to disappoint! A favorite of mine is the PB&J slider with bacon added and the poutine fries. read more
