I was half finished with my cocktail when I found an insect in it. I showed it to an older waitress and she grabbed it and said " we all eat bugs everyday". I was taken aback but patiently waited for a new drink. So, for the longest time we craved the wings on .50cent wing nights. Then one night we come in take bite and the wings are gross. We immediately noticed that the wings were plain wings that we could get anywhere. They did admit when we complained that they changed the wings. So, with that you can get these wings anywhere. So, the Green Frog just reopened 2 days ago by the former owner Cindy Henry. My husband and I thought "Great" its back!! We went there tonight wanting to get frog legs until we saw the outlandish price for 3 saddles. Our server told us about the ayce fish, she said it didn't start until 5 and we were ok with waiting 20 minutes and went ahead and ordered. 5 o'clock came and went and by 5:40 we still hadn't received any food. Another server came up to us and told us that the kitchen was behind and they were working on it. I can understand the kitchen being behind if it was busy...but that wasn't the case. When some food did come out it was a plate of fries, a burnt piece of toast and ONE piece of fish. It was almost insulting... I realize that our server (the only bright spot of the night), bartender/maybe manager, since she was doing everything when we got there probably thought something is better than nothing...bless her soul, but for us it was the straw that broke the camel's back. We asked for our bill (she did take one meal off and a beer) took the 3 pieces of fish she brought out in a to go box and made the decision that we will not be back! There are way too many places to go in Fort Wayne that if this is the best you can do, whether Cindy is back or not, it's not good enough. Not the Frog of the past!! No where near. read more

Under new ownership, this place is making a comeback in my heart. Hosting sunday brunches with the Affine food truck guys got me back in the door. I returned to try to regular menu at lunch. We both got burgers, I would consider them adequate with yummy fries & cole slaw. The patties didn't seem fresh and I added bacon for $2 and only got one slice of flat boring bacon added to my burger. This bar is a neighborhood staple that isn't going anywhere, but I would love to see them freshen the menu up a bit and serve up some higher quality. Service and beer selection are top notch, and the new owner works his butt off to make sure everyone is well cared for during your visit. read more

A much needed brunch trip had to happen today. I haven't been to the green frog since new ownership (not out this way a lot) & I'm so sorry that I haven't. We were greeted with such a friendly welcome from not only the awesome servers/bartenders but also Matt (the owner) himself. They recommended the eggs Benedict to us but I'm not a fan of the slow egg so I went with the biscuits & gravy. These are not your typical biscuits and gravy. Chorizo mixed in with the gravy, scallions for a garnish, & I'm not even sure what type of biscuit but it was PERFECT. My fiancé got the croque madame. It was a breakfast Cuban which was to die for. I thought it came with a sauce but it was actually the melted havarti cheese, who doesn't love that?! They have a Bloody Mary bar which was great after a night of drinking (and staying out till 5am). Now let me tell you about the pastry board...... I have the biggest sweet tooth and our server recommended the apple cranberry bread pudding. I couldn't leave here without trying them all so we got the board (only $11!!!). They are going to start doing a mimosa bar in the near future & are going to serve fresh squeezed juices! 100% recommend this to everyone. & dont be surprised if you see me here every Sunday morning!!! read more

As always, my wife wrote this for her facebook friends. I have a little bit of history with the Green Frog Inn at the corner of Spring & Sherman in Fort Wayne. Early in the marriage of my great aunt & uncle, Stella and Herman Blessing, the tavern was managed by them and they lived in the apartment above. When I became of age to visit the Green Frog it was owned by Boris "Bebe" Lebamoff and several of my friends and I became regular customers, stopping in for a late snack or sandwich and cocktails after work for many years. Since then it's been owned and operated by several different people and today its wings are ranked #8 in Fort Wayne's top 10 by foursquare.com., so off we went to give them a try. Upon our arrival we were immediately greeted by the Inn's manager and beverages were set before us in a most timely manner. In no time at all our culinary desires had been delivered to the kitchen. The Frog's jumbo wings are deep fried and come 8 to an order tossed in your choice of Garlic Herb, BBQ, Hot BBQ, Bourbon, Hot, Teriyaki, Turbo, Citrus Chipotle, or Mild sauce. We opted for one order of Bourbon wings and one order of Turbo. The wing portions set before us were of ample size, quite meaty and with the skin crisped just right while leaving the treat inside moist and tender. The Bourbon glaze was slightly sweet with Jim Beam's signature earthy warmth and an orange undertone, while the Turbo wasn't nearly as hot or spicy as one would expect given the name but it had a pleasing flavor. However, we found that if we tossed the Bourbon wings in the Turbo sauce that had pooled in the bottom of the basket it made for a very tasty wing! We'll definitely ask for mixed sauces on our next visit (unless, of course, we decided on burgers!). FYI: Full bar service if available with several craft beers and IPA's on tap as well as a few hard ciders and sodas. Smoking is prohibited. Me and my girls went last Thursday night to see her friend perform (2 person group called Basket Case, awesome!) . We had a really nice time! Service was excellent, the place was clean, crowd was diverse and friendly! Loved the smoking patio also! Parking is a little tricky but worth it! So I've lived in Fort Wayne for almost a year and a half now, and have been to the co-op at least twice a month since then and never even NOTICED this place right next to it until a few weeks ago. My boyfriend and I were in the mood for some good bar food after work one rainy night last week and he suggested this place; so we tried it out and were very happy. First off, the atmosphere is great - everything is clean, the staff are all friendly, the noise level isn't ridiculous, it's not dark & seedy, the booths are nice (looked new) and you don't have those AWFUL ugly ceiling tiles we seem to find in every restaurant in Fort Wayne. As for the food - great, delicious, simple bar food. We shared the bourbon wings, citrus chipotle wings and the sample basket. The bourbon wings are amazing, especially if you dunk them in the bleu cheese (the waitress recommended this and she was spot on); but the citrus chipotle ones are even BETTER. Seriously stellar wings. The sample basket was good if you're looking for fried-everything. We need to go back now and get some frog legs and try out the sandwiches and entrees. The food was amazing (don't leave without trying the fried cauliflower:), staff was fantastic, and the band Tandem was terrific! My husband and I had been here MANY years ago when we lived in Fort Wayne, but have lived in Virginia for the past 13 years, so it had been a while. Now that we have moved back to town we thought we'd visit some of our "old haunts". We were pleasantly surprised and impressed with many things. We stopped here on a Thursday evening and found out they have "ALL YOU CAN EAT" frog legs. While I want to go back and try that some Thursday evening, I didn't feel I could do an all you can eat item justice on this trip, so I ordered the Swiss Steak, which was DELICIOUS! Very tender and cooked just right. For the sides I had mashed potatoes with gravy (that's an obvious choice with swiss steak) and they were good along with a tossed salad that was crisp and very good blue cheese dressing. My husband had the hot wings which he really enjoyed and said he would order again. The service was excellent - friendly and efficient. It was very clean and the memorabilia is fun to look at. So we are definitely planning on going back again and hope to take some friends with us next time. read more

My review is based on experience via phone (5 star) & after showing up (1 star), as we did not dine there. ...We wanted to treat my in-laws to frog legs for dinner as it had been years since they had them. I was referred to this restaurant when I called a different restaurant inquiring about frog legs. When I called Green Frog the woman was very pleasant & informative about the frog legs meal. Upon showing up I discovered they offer next t to no parking & when we walked in we were told my son could not be inside as he was a minor & Green Frog is a bar with no family dining section. Very disappointed after driving in from out of town. Leaving this review for anyone else with children considering dining here but unaware that it is a bar only with no family section. I'm sure their food is probably fine as most bar food can be, but unfortunately, we will probably never have the opportunity to try it. read more
