There were delicious. They were crispy. They weren't too "rubbery" either and went well with the sauces. I also ordered the buttermilk chicken sandwich. The chicken itself left a little to be desired. The apple slaw on top was unique though and added another welcomed element to the sandwich. The portion was huge too. The ciabatta was soft and my favorite part of the sandwich though. The fries on the side were also a star. Super thick and crispy just how fries should be!

We each ordered one of the dessert items which are cake or similar in a shot glass with frosting or mousse or some other topping. They were good, again nothing great. No specially prepared sauces for the entrees to make things pop or standout, just basic dinner fare. On a positive note, food was much better than the Longhorn steakhouse chain or similar establishment.

Our orders tonight were perfectly seasoned, which is how most restaurants should be. You cannot go back if you put too much salt on the food so it's best if the person eating the food add the salt on their food.

What a total dump....my wife and I decided to try the place out. We walked in around 7:30pm, they were relatively quiet but not dead. We got seated promptly. We waited about 10 minutes before the server came over to acknowledge us. She stated "She didn't realize it was her section". No biggie it happens and overall she was a good server. We looked over the menu and my wife spotted mussels in spicy marinara sauce, she loves to dunk the bread in the broth as do I. So we ordered the mussels for appetizers. Complete fail, the broth was first cold, then it was so bland it tasted like tomato water. We sent it back and decided to just go with our main meal which was the large pizza, half pepperoni and half onion. The pizza came out looking and smelling great but however when we went to pick it up, it was not completely cut and all the toppings fell right off and to top it all the dough was soggy. No crunch at all. It was a total bad experience, we left more than half of pizza and didn't even take it home. Would not recommend to other, will not go back read more

The food is very palatable here and the drinks are reasonably priced. The restaurant is clean and the bathrooms are nice and clean too (important to us women!). BUT the most impressive thing to me as a woman was the ASSISTANCE, INTERVENTION and ATTENTION that the bouncer and the chef gave to me and my cousin on a recent evening there. We were unfortunatelly harassed for most of the night by various rude and weird male patrons and it was a very uncomfortable and untenable situation. We were just there to enjoy dinner and the football game, but that became virtually impossible. The bouncer and the chef very kindly and appro- priately stepped in and got involved and intervened on our behalf 3-4 times. We were both very impressed and very appreciative. I have never experienced such attention and protection by a bar staff in my entire life as I experienced the other night at Green Knoll. Thank you, Matt the bouncer and thank you, Jeff the chef!! This place deserves NO STARS. Been there many times over the years with coworkers and every time it gets worse and worse. Last year my friend's pizza came out with a dirty bandaid cooked into it, DISGUSTING. Decided to give it another try a month ago and my last meal was fine, even though the wine glasses were disgusting and had lipstick on them. Their food is mediocre at best, yet they charge close to fine-dining prices. At the end of the meal, our server informed us of a 10% discount if we payed in cash. So we went to the ATM and got charged $3 to pull out our own money to get ten dollars taken off our bill. Seemed a bit sketchy.... On our way out we happened to see the owner yelling and cursing out his staff in front of the whole restaurant including their own customers!!! Absolutely disgusting to see staff being treated like animals with no shame. Green knoll has only gotten worse in the past 5 years. NEVER GOING BACK!!!! read more

Green Knoll Grill is a local hangout to many in the Bridgewater area i found out last night . I was surprised to see some of my old friends from my high school days there for happy hour. The place was busy and a bunch of us grabbed a table only to be told we needed to get up and wait to be seated. Finally after 30 minutes we sat down and ordered few apps (after happy hour ) ended . The food was good. Our server was there one minute and gone the next. At first she seemed nice but never came back to the table for us. My friend went to complain to a manager or owner and they attempted to look for her . She came back and rolled her eyes as if she was angry. We decided to leave. Sorry no tip for you Alie. Next time learn how to speak to yur customers . The Green Knoll Grill needs to hire better staff. Next time we will hang at the bar atleast they know how to talk to theyre customers read more

I work at a hospital for children and adults with special needs (most of these residents are in wheelchairs), and every single time that we have gone to the Green Knoll Grill, they have been outstanding and more than accommodating. This past Wednesday, we had a server named Kim who was not only patient and helpful when taking orders from our residents, but she was personable and interacted with our table throughout the entire meal. She was not only an amazing server in general, but she really took her time and patience with our residents to make sure they were able to order themselves and made this experience a memorable one. The food came out GREAT, and Kim ended the meal by giving some of our residents a hug. A big round of applause to Green Knoll for being so incredibly accommodating and to Kim for her outstanding service! read more

Green knoll is an excellent place to enjoy a great lunch and dinner or even just to kick back and hang out! They have exceptional service, a wonderful atmosphere and the restaurant itself is beautiful! With a large outdoor patio to enjoy some sun, to a tiki bar for some fun. Family friendly with a playground for the kids! You can eat outside and watch the kids have fun while you catch up with your family and friends right by their side. They have great events during the evening and every weekend, as well as a awesome happy hour selection during the week. Daily specials too! The food is great and the staff is incredible. I recently visited Green Knoll Grill for an after-work happy hour, and overall, it was a great experience. The location was easy to find, and parking was simple. They were very accommodating to our large party, even allowing us to bring in a birthday cake, which was much appreciated. The food was excellent. I shared a large pretzel with the group, and it was presented impressively on a large hook with three dipping sauces. The cheese dip was definitely the highlight! The only downside was that we didn't know they were going to have a live band that night. While the music was good, it got incredibly loud, making it difficult to hear one another. Despite the noise, we had a good time, and the food and service were both on point. Just be prepared for a lively atmosphere if there's live music! read more

I dine out often around central jersey and the one thing I can say about the Green Knoll Grille is it is consistent. I have given it several tries now, and have ordered a variety of dishes, and they have all-each and every one- been CONSISTENTLY awful in taste and overpriced to boot!!! Even their bar is overpriced. They have a nice outdoor patio for summer, and that has caused me to return, but, other than that I cant think of one reason to frequent this place!! Go have an overpriced beer outside if you want, but, dont count on it to be too cold, and eat before you go for sure. Its a Shame. Pasta dish, tasted too bad to finish. Burgers....so small they dont fill the bun, if you want a 12 dollar stale bun with an overcooked tiny hockey puck, this is your joint!!! read more

This is not a place to be trusted. The manager, L. Balducci, made an agreement with a local nonprofit organization to share 10% of the revenue from an event in the fall of '17. After multiple follow-up visits, phone calls and letters since the event, Balducci still refuses to respond and has not shared the revenue. Other employees were aware of the agreement, relayed follow up messages to her and cannot account for her deplorable and corrupt behavior. If management is dishonest in its dealings regarding a small amount of money, how can it be trusted when it comes to something you eat, drink or feed your family? Think twice before patronizing this restaurant. read more

I was looking for a restaurant to bring my family down on a sunday afternoon. I had spoken to a friend who frequents green knoll and told me it was a great place to bring the family. I have to say he was Right. Our Server had Recommended some of her favorite Dishes, Which i did order, The Fish Tacos and They were excellent. The Pizza was also very Good. My Kids Loved That they have a jungle gym. Everyone was very friendly and even at one point my younger daughter tripped and skinned her knee and the staff was great putting a band aid on it and getting her an ice pop. We decided to give this place a try for the first time being a Bridgewater Resident for over 20 years. Everyday I drive by the Green Knoll Grill and never really knew what it was about . The atmosphere was nice and the music was great, This is one of the best happy hours we have been to in a long time They were extremely busy and our server looked like she was on something to say the least. I figured she just couldnt handle it but the more i watched her, she seemed totally out of it. I would of given this restaurant a 5 star if she had it together. This place sucks, the first time I went I had pizza which was horrible but I still decided to give them a second try because it is a bar and not a pizza joint so myself and some coworkers decided to go back there again this past Friday and I ordered a turkey club which was the worst thing I ever ate, the turkey was bad it was changing color to a purplish green I'm pretty sure that was really old turkey they couldn't sell. Myself or anyone from my office will not be going back due to bad food and bad service. P.S. When my boyfriend and I walked in we were immediately greetedWith a smile and asked if we wanted to table or dessert at the bar. We decided to sit at the bar the Service was amazing the bartender was very focused on making sure customers were happy and got everything they wanted.Not only did she take our order and make us drinks but she made conversation as well made us feel very welcome. This place seemed like a good environment but the workers were very racist towards my family and me. Staff was basically all white people but thats no reason to treat me and my family different because we have a different skin color. I could hear them talking about us and looking and pointing. I'm usually a good tipper but I left nothing that night! Nikki was our server... I think her name was. My friend and I wanted to watch all the NCAA Tournament games this afternoon/evening but preferred to be at an outdoor bar because of COVID. The GKG folks turned on the TVs and heaters in their outdoor tiki bar area just for us and our server Bridget came outside regularly to check on us. The burgers, wings and pizza were very good and we were never left with an empty beer. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us and we're really grateful. Went to Green Knoll tonight after not visiting for a while. I have frequented a different spot that opened about a year ago, but forgot how much fun Green Knoll was. The food was great. I had trouble deciding what I was going to eat. Too many good options. Also I could not believe how many drink special they have. Every night is a different special. And last I must comment on the staff. Green Knoll wins the award for the most attractive staff...ever! Needless to say...Green Knoll is once again my spot. read more

It was my first time at this location. The staff was super friendly, and the food was very good. It's really nice that they have live music, but they literally sat my friends and I are right behind the soundboard while the band was setting up, and I had to sit at my table on an angle since where my seat was there were the foot pedals for controlling different things. GKG is a great place to go with friends to grab really yummy food and drinks. They have a beautiful outdoor patio and very friendly staff/servers. They also have live music and DJs on the weekends. It's a perfect escape for when you've had a long day and just need to unwind. It brings tiki beach bar vibes to central jersey for people who don't feel like driving down to the shore. Every plate that I saw looked plentiful and filling. Friendly staff, plentiful fresh plates, and nice casual unpretentious ambiance.

They also have a cool outdoor area for when the weather is nice. I've been here several times and they usually have some special drinks on rotation on top of all the usual bar staples. They have specials on some days of the week (Taco Tuesday, Half price apps, Trivia night, etc) which is an added bonus. The food and drinks have always been good and the service is right up there too. We have been there during a few live bands and we were always pleasantly surprised with how good they sounded. Overall, you can't go wrong if you're looking for a no-frills joint to grab a drink and some food.

It does not have much curb appeal but once you are inside your impression will improve. They have 6-8 beers on tap. I had the Jai Alai IPA from Cigar City Brewing, Tampa FL. Note that they offer the 30 Burgers menu which obviously has burgers but you can also get wings, etc., or a small bar pizza. FYI, the wings looked very good from what I could tell from the guy eating them next to me. Service at the bar was average at best, so don't expect to be treated like Royalty, lol! There is also a small bar where you can order drinks and bring them back to your seat. Our group had a private tent area reserved, and the event was well organized. Buffet-style food had been arranged before our arrival, and we were able to bring in decorations, a birthday cake, and other party favors without any issues. The outdoor bar stops serving around 9:00 p.m., but we were able to move to a covered area near to the hotel restaurant and bar, which was equipped with heat lamps and provided a comfortable place to continue the evening. Service throughout the event was quick and friendly. I would definitely recommend The Smokehouse for group gatherings, birthday parties, or a casual day out. There is plenty of space, the prices are reasonable, and the staff does a great job accommodating larger groups. Also, it's conveniently located not far from the train station.
