We had a late dinner date and didn't want cook. This place is a great go to restaurant. I love the fresh bread they give you, pumpernickel and sourdough bread. What especially taste great is their butter! We ordered a bistro burger and chicken Bellagio. As you can see from my pictures, the portions of the chicken Bellagio was big! The chicken breast were soft and tender. The pesto on the pasta was not over powering! Sometimes too much pesto is over powering! The prosciutto and arugula salad topping were delicious. It was perfect. It wasn't salty and it was perfectly seasoned.. This is the first time I ordered ordered a bistro burger. I ordered the burger, medium rare and it came out, medium rare. The burger was not round. It was actually long ways caught up to fit the toasted roll. The role tasted like sourdough bread, which was very good. The burger was supposed to be topped with bacon.. I did not see any bacon in the burger. I should have said something to our waitress, but I did not bother. That was one of the negative with my order. I would love to taste the bacon with my burger. The homemade steak sauce and aïoli sauce was very good. Believe it or not I was not able to finish my burger because of the sauce. Not that it was bad, but sometimes the taste of the sauce was just too much. I probably would not order the bistro burger again. The side order of fries were hot and crunchy. I love hot fries so I finished it before the burger. The one thing I love about cheesecake factory is the food are not salty. Our orders tonight were perfectly seasoned, which is how most restaurants should be. This is the second time that I've been to this Cheesecake location and they are on top of things. We sat at the bar during Happy Hour (from 4-6pm) both times and although it was busy, service was great. The bartender took our drink order right away while we browsed the Happy Hour Menu and regular menu. The bar itself has a nice wall of bottles and a few TV's to keep you occupied. There are plenty of tables in the bar area as well if you prefer a table. Quick note, Happy Hour is in the bar area only. We decided on Chicken Taquitos from the Happy Hour menu to start and then the Spicy Chicken Sandwich and Chicken Katsu Bowl for our meals. I requested bleu cheese with my sandwich, and something about their bleu cheese is extra good, so I highly recommend you ask for it. We each had a Mojito as well, which was quite refreshing. This Cheesecake Factory location has been on point during all of our visits over the last year. Whether ordering from the standard menu or the happy hour menu, the quality has been consistent and the service has been great. Our most recent visit was at the bar for happy hour, right after work on a Friday around 5:30pm. Their happy hour burger is always great - and it was still delicious after I swapped out the usual bun for a lettuce wrap. I chose this for my birthday dinner because I had never been and felt like I needed to experience this cultural phenomenon! It didn't really disappoint although my expectations weren't that high. To start, the raspberry lemon drop drink was absolutely perfect! Not too sweet but the sugar rim was a nice touch. The crab dip was a great appetizer, but it wasn't that hot. The stuffed mushrooms are teeny tiny and just okay. The calamari was great and a good app to share. I didn't get the hype with the avocado egg roll. Hot avocado is just...a turn off for me lol. Of course, we were already full on the apps so we only had some of our entrees and definitely got boxes to take home. The best of the bunch was the Chicken Madeira. Super tender chicken, and loved the sides. My fettuccine with shrimp was basic but classic! Super rich as to be expected. The Steak Diane was also a hit. We ordered a side of spinach because it needed some green. The teriyaki salmon bowl was a bit dry, so we asked for extra sauce which helped but I wouldn't recommend that dish. Cheesecake was obviously delicious! The Godiva Chocolate one is a true chocolate lover's dream. They were out of pumpkin cheesecake sadly so we ordered the pumpkin pecan pie cheesecake which was decent. I signed up to be a cheesecake member beforehand so 1 slice of cheesecake was free for my birthday! Woohooo! Service was nice. Our waitress was sweet, but I hate when staff auctions off food. Offfff Cheesecake Factory did me dirty this time hubby and I went in for happy hour and got some appetizers. The nachos were TERRIBLE, it was all chips and there were barely any other ingredients. I really thought I was going to get some mind blowing nachos like there other dishes. To top it off, the guacamole was brown and had definitely been sitting out. The sliders and calamari were okay, the portion size definitely went down, and the meat in the sliders was really pink even though I asked for no pink. We ordered the buffalo blasts, corn tamales, korean-style cauliflower bites, brussels sprouts, and crab rangoon. The meal started off with the complimentary bread which I always enjoy - love a good bread and butter. The corn tamales were really good and took me by surprise. It blended perfectly with the various sauces and flavors on the plate. The corn tamales were moist and the green sauce carried out the good flavors and texture. The crispy brussels sprouts was a perfect match to eat along with the corn tamales. The flavors combined was delicious. The korean-style fried cauliflower was a pleasant surprise. The flavor was great, with a sweet and flavorful sauce. Best flavor from the menu I've tried so far. I would definitely recommend trying it! The buffalo blasts came out hot and crispy, with a large filling portion. Flavors were simple and good. I'd happily order all these dishes again. The only dish I wouldn't get again is the crab rangoon. It was okay, the flavor reminded me more of crab cakes and I would've liked for the wrapper to be crispier. As for seating, there were plenty of options available, including booths, high tables, and seating at the bar. Went here for early dinner on a weekday. We saw a sign mentioning it was happy hour so we were excited. Food - we ordered 5 dishes - buffalo cauliflower, hot tamales, buffalo bites, brussel sprout and crab wontons, and the house lemonade and beer. All of the dishes (except the crab wontons) were tasty. Crab wontons seemed undercooked and not crunchy. Taste wasn't great either. Brussel sprout was burnt more than usual but still good. Before ordering the beer, we asked if it was included in the happy hour. We were told yes it was. We were charged full price. Lemonade was good. Other than that, waiters were friendly and accommodating. Service: When we walked in, the receptionist took us to a booth. One of the waiters came and gave us the menu. We noticed none of it had happy hour information so we asked one of the waiters about it and he mentioned it's only happy hour if you sit at the bar so we asked to change our table. I would have preferred if the person taking us to the seating area had asked us where we would like to sit or that there's happy hour going on if we sit at a specific location only. If we had not asked the waiter, we would have sat where we were taken and missed out on the happy hour as noone mentioned it or brought it up. Ambiance- it was pretty empty when we went. I should write two separate reviews. One for takeout and one for eat in. I have good experiences eating at the restaurant. Happy hour has some good deals. Meals are good portion size and good quality. Takeout is extremely hit or miss. The takeout salads are terrible - so small and lacking toppings. The only bright spot to-go are the Thai lettuce wraps which have been amazing and replicate the eat in experience. Today I tried to order a to-go salad again. Not smart of me. The portion size was not great but even worse is that the chicken they used is a replicate of the crappy premade "chicken"that Panera uses in their salads! When did this change??? The seared tuna salad (see photo) was ok but for the price I would have expected more tuna. Good thing I got a side of grilled chicken otherwise it would have been insufficient protein. Stopped in for lunch yesterday and it was an experience. Unfortunately, not a great one...I was meeting a friend who arrived before and sat herself in the bar area because no host was to be found, so when I arrived, I notified the host that we would like a table and she graciously got us one. The server, who was also the bartender, didn't make his way over for quite some time, and then there were big gaps between visits. Even more ironic, it was 2pm and the place was virtually empty, yet he kept disappearing. There were literally 2 other tables and one was paying. Honestly, I think Cheesecake Factory is one of the better chain restaurants around. I have always enjoyed many of their dishes but since summer is around the corner, I decided to get something from their SkinnyLicious menu...Lemon Garlic Shrimp with Angel Hair pasta. At 530 calories, I have to say it tastes like it was only 530 calories. The pasta could have been more creamy. I never liked anything that was low-calorie, low-carb, less-sodium or reduced-fat. I'm going to stick to their regular menu and just eat half and have the rest as leftovers from now on. Ms. Bobalicious is not feeling this SkinnyLicious dish. I always get a Cheesecake slice to take home. Today I chose their 30th Anniversary Chocolate Cake. It's a fudge cake with four alternating layers. I savored every morsel of that silky texture as the chocolate melted in my mouth. Surprisingly not too sweet and is now one of my favorites. At 1,310 calories, it's best to share it someone. My girlfriend and I came last night for dinner, as apps we got the cajun shrimp (i think that's what it's called) those were amazing, she got the chicken and shrimp gumbo and I ordered the chicken piccata. Both were fantastic, our waiter was on point, he was fast and efficient. It seems like any time we needed something, i would turn my head and he was always in his section ready to help. The ambiance was okay, pretty loud but hey it's a restaurant at 6:45, that's every restaurant. The only complaint that I have was that my chicken piccata was a bit under salted but I like salty foods so that was just an easy fix with the salt shaker, I enjoyed it very much. Honestly, every time I find myself here I think, "why did I agree to come here, it's really not good". And it's not good. They have a huge menu, like you can spend an hour going through it. That's the first red flag, you can't possibly offer all that stuff with good quality. And they don't. The food tastes really fatty, salty, and processed. While my wife enjoyed her bang bang shrimp, I was very disappointed in my spicy ginger beef dish which was short on beef and also locked mushrooms and other vegetables. Cheesecake Factory is a hit or miss, but it is usually a hit. I mean, how can you go wrong with fried mac and cheese bites? Definitely a CF staple. I usually love the flatbreads, but I didn't love the bee sting. It was too much meat for me and too oily - it lost the crunch in the crust because of the oil and the toppings made it too heavy so it was also a little floppy. My side lunch caesar salad was surprisingly above average. I was expecting a "gritty" cheap tasting caesar dressing, but it had a nice tang to it. My friend enjoyed her salmon. I was slightly disappointed that the patio is closed but I was told at the location in Menlo Park that outdoor seating availability depends on the number of staff that show up for work on any given day. That said, I sat at the bar because that was the most empty area inside other than some booths. I did ask to be seated at a booth, at which point the hostess told me they were reserved for large parties. I opted for the bar. I must say though, a wait time for a table was only 15 minutes- pretty good for a Sunday evening. Service at the bar was prompt and friendly and above all, the food was delicious. I ordered the Greek salad I didn't know I needed in my life, plus the dynamite shrimp, which I always get. Both delicious- as well as the off-menu spicy margarita prepared by the bartender.
