We were spending the weekend in Duluth and stumbled upon Green Mill for dinner in the cavalcade of restaurants and bars in the area. We came in for an early dinner and so did every other family and kids. The vibe is very family friendly, sort of old timey and casual. It was packed, but we were able to get a table without too much waiting. We ordered pizza and some wings (wings upon recommendation from the server). We stopped here for dinner, because we wanted something basic and or simple without much fanfare. We sat at a high top in the bar. First and foremost I want to say our bartender/server was great. He was friendly, and timely servicing us. Not an easy task if you are managing tables and running the bar fulfilling orders for the other servers, and managing his customers sitting at the bar. So appreciate his efforts. The food? Well, that was a disappointment. We ordered some wings, and a Margherita Pizza. First, the wings were soggy limp pieces of meat, and the sauce we chose was not cooked enough to remove some of the moisture so it would cling to the wings. The saving grace was we were quite hungry so we powered through that mess. Secondly, the pizza we received...that was an utter disappointment. Not sure what Green Mill calls for a Margherita pizza, but that is not what one should taste or look like. There was no basil on this pizza, unless you call the dried herbs sprinkled on it "basil", This was a garlic bomb - it was just so overwhelming, and I LOVE garlic. Lastly there was just too much cheese and olive oil. it was so greasy! We befriended some other folks, and they politely declined an offer of a slice of pizza, because we were not going to eat anymore after the first slice. Arrived to a pregame busy but not horrendous. Order taken pretty quick but guessing our order was forgotten. Appetizer finally came and then more waiting for pizza. Pizza arrived, no plates or silver. Table next to us ordered and left just as we received our food. The entire place was cleared out and no food. Food was hot so not like it had been sitting in wait. Impressed!! I was seated immediately and greeted by my server taking my drink order. It did take a few minutes for my drink to arrive however she was busy with two other tables at the time. It was happy hour so I decided to try the made in house mozzarella sticks and let me say these were the best sticks I've had and being $2 off was a nice bonus. As for my entree the Italian Mac and Cheese caught my attention since it was a little on the spicy side. I asked my server about it and she was honest saying she hadn't tried it but serves it several times each shift. I'm glad I decided to give it a go, it was great! On 2/20/2026, I ordered a Create your own pizza for dleivery via thier website, which I had an account for, meaning they had contact information if there was any issues. I received an email from Green Mill confirming my order with the estimated delivery time. That time came and went, no form of update and no pizza. Another hour past and this had been hours after I had placed my order. I called the resturant and they said they didn't have a delivery address, even though I remember putting one in when I placed the order online. I had to then tell them my exact order and provide my address over the phone. I was shocked they didn't offer anything to make up for their mistake. When the pizza arrived, it didn't have enough sauce. It tasted rushed and not up to the standards for the price I paid. I thought a resturant that has its own delivery would be more reliable. I had done pick up at another location before and had liked the pizza. Sad to see the Duluth location is not up to the same standard. read more

We ordered pizza to go and it was delicious! The toppings were plentiful and very cheesy.

Absolutely have to check this place out if you are in Duluth! The inside looks pretty normal, but the food is excellent! The service was also impeccable. Griffin was an absolute delight! He was so helpful with recommendations and we never had to ask for anything as he stayed on top of everything. We had the the garlic bread for an appetizer (highly recommend). For our entree, we shared the Fettuccini Alfredo with Vegetables and a deep dish cheese pizza. Both were excellent. Highly recommend based on their food quality and service! read more

Walking into this well located Green Mill as a party of five during lunch hour we were greeted with friendly smile. I had the Eating Fit flathread with added chicken - and a Diet Coke. Nice that the menu lists the calories - as a fitness pal person - helpful !! The healthy flatbread was decent - a little dry because , perhaps, it was sitting under the heat lamp for a while. Total without tip was $18. The three stars - I wish I could do 3.5, - mostly driven for the slow service. In and out was over 80 minutes. I get it was a Sunday - maybe no one showed up - benefit of the doubt but it was pretty show. No one was drinking and it was apparent we were at a work lunch. Overall - the establishment seems clean. The waitstaff was slow, but she was friendly. This was my first and only visit - i would possibly give it another try! read more

We tried Green Mill again tonight after a few lackluster visits in the past few years. It was newly renovated, which looked fantastic, and we were greeted warmly right when we walked in. The menu looked like it had a good variety; everything from sandwiches to pasta and pizza. I decided on the parmesan walleye sandwich and let me tell you--it's hours later and I'm still thinking about how good that was. It wasn't a huge filet, but that didn't matter because it tasted amazing! It didn't have an overly "fishy" taste, and it was super flaky, and sooo flavorful. The bun looked like it even had garlic butter on it, which was an added bonus! My husband had eyed the skyscraper cheesecake earlier, so we had to get that. Get it with pecans, caramel, and chocolate! So, so good! Service was impeccable, and it was a bit on the pricey side, but honestly, not as bad as other places in Canal Park. I ordered 3 pasta dishes. They were all the same amount shown in picture. Great food. But for 14.99 for each pasta for delivery isnt worth it. We dont mind paying 14.99 but it should be worth it too We will not be giving them our business. This is not the first time. In the past-we did notify management and it keeps happening. If this was 7.00 we are ok with it. For 14.99? We didnt post a review in the past because it was less than stellar. We feel the consumers have the right to know so we posted. We wanted to leave but the server was pleasant enough we ordered a salad... only two cherry tomatoes and two pieces of cucumber and the rest only lettuce. Was a very good idea. customer service was really nice, and I went in the store a bit early but they welcomed me and even gave me something to drink. Food was mediocre and there was a hair in our son's mandarin oranges (which he pulled out of his mouth). We got a "sorry about that" and a new cup of oranges after we asked. When we got the bill, we were charged $10 extra for fruit with the kid's meals which was not clear when we ordered. A heads up would have been appreciated as we wouldn't have paid $3.50 each for a couple of slices of cantaloupe/pineapple and a mandarin orange cup. Back again.......had a funeral in the Cities Friday and I needed to escape to Duluth to get away from it all. Went to the Green Mill to watch the Minnesota Football game and have a few beers. My competition for the TV'S were The Playoff Minnesota Twins.....I was outnumbered. The bartender, Megan worked really hard to give me ONE TV to watch my football. Thank you Megan and the manager/owner of the Green Mill.....you ALWAYS have fantastic servers with great attitude. Ruined our Rehearsal Dinner, would NOT recommend for large orders We had planned a very low-key rehearsal dinner for around 25 people at a local brewery and opted to order pizza from green mill to feed our family and friends who had come a long way to our wedding in Duluth (as most of our family lives in the cities), after all who doesn't love pizza and beer? We placed the order weeks ahead of time to ensure we gave the restaurant plenty of time to prepare for roughly 13 pizzas. Turns out, our larger order that was placed and paid for in advance was completely lost. After not hearing a peep around the requested delivery time, we called them up & had no idea what we were talking about, and it seemed they were annoyed we were asking, they couldn't even find our order #, they called us back 20 minutes later and said they could deliver an hour later, which was basically the end of our event! Not cool. I appreciate Green Mill apologizing and fully refunding our order, but nothing will fix the total disaster that was our only rehearsal dinner - I'm very peeved one of the first impression some folks had of us was this mess. A very fun idea turned very bad. Thankfully another local pizza company was able to help us out in a pinch, but so many of our guests left early to grab food elsewhere because they were understandably starving. I didn't get to host speeches or really chat with many guests because I (the bride) was running around trying to fix this. Truly the most stressful event of our wedding, I just don't understand how such a large order can simply be lost in the shuffle... thats just not good business. My husband and I ordered a medium thin crust pizza with four toppings ( sausage, mushrooms, pepperoni, and onions). On the entire extremely soggy pizza crust existed 4 sausages, 5 pepperoni, 2 mushrooms ( needed our reading glasses to see) and absolutely NO onions. It was absolutely disastrous for a pizza! This place is pretty laid back, and has a sort-of Applebee's feel. If you go in expecting that kind of service and food, you will have a fine time. Our service was decent. Nothing fantastic, but nothing to complain about. Coconut Chicken Salad- The chicken is amazing, slightly sweet, and super crunchy. The dressing was a great balance between the greens and the chicken, and it resulted in a well-balanced salad. I was a happy camper. Pizza- Simple, bready pizza in a HUGE quantity. The two slices with a salad for lunch is a TON of food. My husband was happy with the amount for sure. The quality was decent for pizza and was good. Shrimp Scampi- Two in our group had this and said it was very bland. Neither of them finished and they were both very disappointed. Lobster Mac and Cheese- Everyone at the table loved this! Flavorful and garlicy. Overall, we had a decent time here. I would probably not give it a return trip, just because there are other better restaurants nearby. read more
