On a road trip, our Prius had warning lights and suddenly lost power. We had to make an emergency pull into Green Oval Motors. Not only did the warm and welcoming folks take time to try to help us with our car, they welcomed my family in from the heat, offered us drinks, and helped guide us to the right service options (they work on Range Rovers not road trip weary Toyotas). They were even concerned that we had a place to stay for the night. I am leaving the review because of the clear care they take in their work and customer service. If they were so attentive and kind to a family who stumbled in and interrupted their day, I can only imagine the care and service they must provide to their clients and customers. I had my vehicle towed to Green Oval motors for an estimate on a damaged transmission, I ended up in and out of the hospital for months in about three months my car was towed illegally to A BETTER DEAL AUTO & TRUCK RECYCLING PORTLAND, OR (503) 285-1808 where it was shredded. I have been lied to for years by green oval about what happened with my vehicle. Only after a significant amount of researching did I find out what happened to my vehicle left in their care . I still hold title, I was never given notice of any fees. I don't know how they got a tow without ownership of the vehicle. This is absolutely criminal how they took my vehicle valued at the time for about 10,000, and illegally towed and scrapped my property. I have enclosed a picture of the records of the salvage and the vehicle title report showing it still in my name. read more

This is such a great alternative to the local Land Rover dealerships. I've been here a few times, but most recently I had an urgent issue with my car where it was completely inoperable. I called the Land Rover dealership in Portland and they said they were booking appointments six weeks out. Alternatively, I could drop my car off and they *might* be able to work me into the schedule in the next one to two weeks. No loaner cars available. I called Green Oval. They took my car the same day and it was ready the next day. Problem solved. read more

I've been there many times for repairs and service and they are very quality organization. It's the only Shop I'll take my Landrover. I really trust these guys. I took my car in for a diagnostic and they were quoting me $15000 to $20000 for the repair. Luckily I took it to another mechanic and the problem that green oval motors was saying the car had,was completely incorrect saving me thousands of dollars. The repair is now being quoted at $700 and the problem it actually has is very minor. Would never recommend this place to anyone read more

Posting here as it did not get posted on google for some reason or another a month ago. Had the control arm replaced after hitting a curb on black ice. It did get fixed but unfortunately took longer than stated. To be fair the weather wouldn't make delivery possible initially but then it also ended up ordering the wrong part. Took another day. I think if it ended there, I would have been fine and satisfied but the following issues came up: 1. I was quoted 1350 for both control arms (not sure if it's a fair price but LR's are not cheap so I think it was fair) but didn't realize that I paid more than what was quoted until I checked my statement and did the math. Even with the 3.5% fee, it should have only been 50$ more but somehow ending up paying 120$ more. Whether it took a little longer or whatever, it's a little unreliable to charge more than what was quoted, especially since it cost me more for them to wait because I had to take ubers to work. Again, my problem but just disappointed I got a 70$ surcharge above the quote. 2. The lift gate was working just fine for several days for the boot before I dropped it off. When I got the car back, the lift gate suspenders were not holding up. Not sure what happened there but apparently it wasn't a concern to be brought to my attention. Fixed it myself so no big deal but just a little frustrating. 3. We changed the tire but I think they forgot to move the TPMS sensor or calibrate it to the new tire because when I went to drive to work 2 days later and since then, it says the TPMS system is faulty and can't get it to shut off. I'll have to go get that checked out. 3. Started to notice a grinding when I turn left at a particular angle. It's probably a wheel bearing that needs replacement but wish it was addressed there or at least driven to know everything was okay before letting the vehicle go. I was really hoping to have a great experience given all the great reviews but I don't feel like they comprehensively looked at my car. I've had mechanic work by another company in LA that works on European cars and they did a comprehensive diagnostics even though they were just changing a wheel bearing (though it too did cost a lot too) and told me things I knew already but was glad that nothing new came up then. I think if you're going to get something fixed, this place will do a solid job getting it done for LR's but I just don't feel comfortable taking my vehicle back at this time. I'd have rated them higher but with the mismatched quote, lack of comprehensive care, and issues that have come up after driving it a few days later has been frustrating for me. I'd still recommend them if you need work on your LR but I'd recommend just paying more attention before and after your visit. read more

Nope, I bought into the 5 stars reviews, it was a total ripped off, yes! Dog / Dough appears to be a soft spoken, honest to the heart kind of guy, the repair is not cheap that's why I chose to go there but problems are too many to mention. I moved from Montana and my 2009 range rover was in good shape and well maintained back home, 47k miles, it suddenly spinned off problems after problems which every oil change plus new discover problem cost near $2000. I went direct to the dealer, the last diagnosis and recommedations Dough described to me weren't accurate and unnecessary... I brought my supercharged Range Rover in that was having some issues with the air suspension system. It was a real mystery. One that a couple of other "Specialty Rover" shops in town couldn't figure out. Shawn and the team went above and beyond in figuring out the problem. All above was on point. However they said the vehicle was fine and drove normal for that model of Range Rover. I thought it felt like the Rover was dragging as it did not seem to move normally. It was obvious when it was in reverse due to the fact that you would need to work the gas as opposed to simply working the brake. None the less I assumed they knew and I just bought the Rover. I had never had one before so what do I know. We as it turns out the rear passenger brake was dragging a bit. So not normal. I had it repaired by another shop once it was beyond obvious. read more

I have been looking for a great condition Land Rover for over 10 years. I came across one here that was for sale and I am not only impressed greatly with the vehicle but more so with the customer service and integrity of the people that work here. We ourchased a 2000 Disco 2 that was in great shape both cosmetically and mechanically. Sean was upfront and honest about the vehicle and the work they had done on it. We purchased it and then brought it back a few days later to have the headliner done and a few other things. Not only did they so the work we asked but without asking they did other things that they noticed were not perfect and also found some extras and that belonged to the vehicle and put those in as well. Doug really took the time to LISTEN to me as I described the issues and frequency at which they were happening, and actually wrote them down, all the details. I should have figured out that was he start of not being on the up and up, but instead, I trusted that he had great reviews and was selling a car he personally vouched for and had rebuilt. After having to be back in the shop a few times in short order, however, Doug stopped vouching for his work and the repair bills started piling up. When we broke down yet again out of town, he started refusing to even return phone calls about what work HAD been done to the car so that I could diagnose it affordably. Overall, a horrid experience. First year on the rebuild = $10k in repairs. I'm sorry I don't have a referral for you to find a good alternative, but know you're in better hands elsewhere. read more
