Rude, impatient, and very slow customer service. Clothing was dirty when I picked it up and didn't notice until I got home. I have never been to a dry cleaner that doesn't tell you that the clothes are still dirty. I waited almost 5 minutes for someone to come out. He was on the phone and wouldn't stop talking on the phone when talking to me. He accused me of accusing him of staining the clothes. There was a stain that wasn't there when I dropped it off. It could have a been a discussion. Aggressive customer service is not a good look. For $17 for 1 piece of clothing I will go elsewhere. Wish I read the reviews on this establishment regarding alterations prior to dropping off my pants. My regular alteration girl was out of town and I needed to get my new pants hemmed. I've dropped off my dry cleaning here before but never for used this establishment for alterations. Here's the story: I came in- tried the pants on- he took note of where it should be hemmed. And this is where there was some confusion. He communicated to me that my pants were the newer type and they are very long and I agreed with him. - drop the pants off - nothing of note Upon picking up the pants I noticed it was indeed still longer at the bottom. So I said hey what ever I'll bring them back and get it sort out. Today I just went in and the owner became very huffy and puffy. Accusing me of saying "keep the pants long" and me "disagreeing" with making them shorter. If this is indeed true, he needs to learn how to communicate more effectively because I've worn dope zegna, Ted baker, and crew suits for a number of years; so I'm a creature of habit when it comes to tailoring my clothes. So I have somewhat of an idea of what needs to be done to my alterations to "look sharp" I had to cut him off from his confrontational tone and just say "hey it was obviously a miscommunication so what's the next step. How can I expedite the process." He recommended I pay for the tailor again. Which is valid, although there was no real effort into customer service he just kept reminding me he was losing money. (Which honestly I've dropped my suits off here (and by far; the price exceeds the value of service) I used to live in mv, before I moved to Hawaii. I came back and my favorite dry cleaner (willy- where posh bagels is now) is gone. 1 star - for confrontation, service, and when I got my pants back. There was like a staple of some sort from the ticket / alteration mark. I will come back to do another alteration or dry cleaning to add any more stars although I doubt I will. read more

I took the shirts to Holiday and he was able to remove both the fresh coffee stained and the washed T-shirt with coffee stains. I thought I would need to throw them away but it was a miracle. I was quite disappointed with this cleaner that last time I went. I went to this place initially last year when I saw the Entertainment coupon for 50% off the order (up to $25). I thought, "wow! great deal!" It's definitely far from my house, but the quote on the phone appeared to be comparable to other cleaners. The guy was really nice, and he was proud of the work he did on my comforters. He even gave me a 10% off coupon for my next visit, just like Kelly S. mentioned. Well, that was LAST YEAR! I returned this year with the same comforters with the same coupon. I was met with a different response. I'd forgotten the cost. So I called them up earlier to ask. Mike, the manager/owner (?), picked up the phone and quoted me $25-35 depending on whether my comforters were down. I wasn't sure, and he told me to just bring them in. When I was at the counter, I was eager to see the guy again. He was in the back busy, so his associate called out his name "Mike." That's how I found out his name. Mike recalled our conversation on the phone, and he said "oh, you brought them in." I told him that one was down and the other, cotton. He wrote down $70. I was confused, because one was cotton and same size. I reminded him that he said that it's $25 if it's not down on the phone. He seemed annoyed that I would challenge his price, and he told me that it costs a lot of money to run his green machines. In fact, it costs $50. Huh? How can it cost $50 per load, and he charges me $35 per comforter. That's when things started to not make any sense. I agreed to the price regardless since i had the Entertainment coupon. He told me now that he couldn't give me the "special" price. He never told me $70 was a special price before. He increased my price to $80. When I looked displeased with the quick price increase, he told me that we're not supposed to use this coupon for anything other than clothes. The coupon had NO such restrictions. Then he started to complain about how Entertainment coupon was supposed to write that in. Did he forget that the coupon brought me in? It's all about marketing! He really didn't want to honor the coupon. He said that I should save the coupon, and use it for clothes. I told him that I wanted to use them for the comforters, because I just didn't dry clean my clothes that much. He threatened that he will take away my coupon if I wanted to use it. I told him that it was fine since I was planning to not return. He then took off $5 from the original price. So it was $65. What was with the arbitrary discounts and price increases with Mike? I was SO shocked that he would treat me like I'm some scum bag asking for discounts that I didn't deserve. I had a legitimate coupon that stated that it was good for any dry cleaning 50% off. When I told him, "I'll just go somewhere else..." He had a change of heart. He lowered it to $55. So arbitrary. I thought I was in Asia haggling with a street vendor for a better price. I decided to test out the service and gave him my comforters. I just prayed that he wouldn't ruin them or not clean them. I picked them up a week later. I think they were clean, but they didn't smell as fresh as last year when he was bragging out how clean and fresh they were. That did impress me last year, and I've decided to return because of that. He should realize that one unhappy customer is never a good thing since word gets about the abuse. Even though I'll probably have Entertainment coupons next year, I won't be touching this coupon again. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service and maybe even phone call I've experienced in my life. If the cleaner business doesn't work out, the man I spoke with could give lessons to Comcast customer service on how to reach new levels of awful. TLDR version: screamed at me repeatedly, then he called me back, yelled "fuck you" at me twice and hung up. I'll say up front Green Sky Cleaners may do amazing cleaning work, they may also have the best prices in the bay area. Unfortunately I never got far enough to experience any of this. I called on a Saturday morning explaining I had 6 new tablecloths that had creasing from their packaging and were in need of a pressing. Because I needed them by tomorrow I was happy to pay whatever expedited fee they would need to charge and asked him if he could do it. He helpfully said if you bring in right away I can get it to you today. "Great!" I said. "When do you need them by?" The man from Green Sky said well you need to bring them in right away because I want to turn my machine off. Totally get it- how about 11:30? (30 minutes from the time I was calling) He suddenly got belligerent and said no thats not going to work. I said OK- what's my time limit? 11:15? He yells "AS SOON AS POSSIBLE." I said got it- I get you need it as soon as possible so you can shut down your machine, I'm trying to figure out how much time I have to work with- *cuts me off* "AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!" I get that and I'm trying but I need to know if there's even a point in me trying. He switches to saying look sir if you can take it on Monday or Tuesday any time is fine, but if you need later today I have to have it right away. I say yea I'm just trying to understand the time limit *cuts me off again* "AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!" I decide there's no point in continuing to converse with someone that's just not understanding what I'm asking so I say "got it thanks" and we (I thought) amicably part ways. 20 minutes later he calls me back to ask if I was the person that was going to bring something in to be pressed. I said well yeah I was, but based on how our conversation went I certainly wouldn't be giving him any business and would dissuade others from considering doing business there as well. He politely starts off trying to understand where this is coming from which I appreciate. I say look man if someone calls with a rush job offering to pay extra I get that its stressful- but if they ask you what the drop dead time limit is and you just scream at them AS SOON AS POSSIBLE repeatedly its not useful for anyone. So he then screams FUCK YOU at me twice and hangs up. I couldn't believe anyone would treat someone they've never met so carelessly, much less someone running a business. God help you if you end up needing something from this guy. He was just careless in communicating and treating another human being with respect. I can only imagine the nightmare if he had my garments in his possession. read more

Owner is so rude. Dropped off 1 sweater at 9am Wednesday. Quoted price I got was $6.50 which is listed on the board for a sweater by a woman working there. Told me it would be ready Friday (no time). Came by at 10am Friday. It's not ready. Then I get a call telling me that their credit card machine is broken so I need to bring cash, oh and the sweater is long so it's $8.50. Really??? Not worth it. There are so many dry cleaners in the neighborhood. This one is not worth it for the customer service alone. As I was leaving the owner told me to go to San Jose or Oakland if I wanted to pay $6.50 to dry clean a sweater just because I called him out on the price change. What an Ass! read more

I like anybody with the ability to laugh at themselves. The guy who runs Holiday Cleaners is one of those folks who doesn't take himself too seriously. When I had to bring him a comforter that my elderly cat kept mistakening for a litter box the proprietor (who is of Persian decent) quipped, "It's a shame she's isn't a Persian cat, I might be able to have a word with her and end this nonsense for you!" Decided to come here based on the great reviews on Yelp. What a mistake! They ruined my husband's tie (see pic), and blamed it on the tie. My son's suit came back wrinkled (see pic). They can't even iron the shirt right (see pic). It would have come out better if I just washed and dried it at home and saved money. The price is not cheap either. $13 for the suit, $4 for the shirt, and $4.50 for the tie. I can't understand why this place got such great reviews. Will never go back. read more

I am having some serious alterations regret after coming here for the first time recently. Definitely un-recommended. I brought two items in and paid at drop off. When I came in to pick up, the owner tells me the price he quoted at drop off was a mistake and demands I pay more. He blames me angrily and says he will lose money on the alteration. I am too bewildered to check the items, but go home and try on the pants, only to realize that... whoops! They forgot to actually sew them up. I go back and am told they "forgot"... so then I have to try the pants on again and he tells me, again, about how he's losing money on this. Yes, it's true, repeatedly making mistakes does cause one's business to lose money. In the end, the hemming seems fine but it was really unprofessional, unpleasant, and a total hassle. Sadly, this shortie will be on the hunt for a new alterations shop. read more

I am currently working at Ames Research Center for the summer with a team of ten, many of whom don't have their cars and who have a slew of formal presentations, so I'm constantly shuttling suits and dresses over here ever since I decided to try this place when I happened to pass by on my way to Sushi 85. The owner is super friendly and accommodating, finishing up a lot of my team's orders on the same day even though we brought them in at different times just so it's easier for me to do a joint pick-up. His wife comes out sometimes to give us advice on our sleeve and pants lengths and is very nice. All of the alterations they've done have come back perfect and all of the cleaning has been stellar, including a weird almost rust stain on one of my suit sleeves and a white, satin jacket that came back shining and pristine. The owner now recognizes me when I come in and gave me a a $10 off coupon for my next cleaning (and with their prices, that is extremely generous) to show his appreciation for all my recommendations. We've only had very good experiences here, price is very reasonable but most of all, for clothes or items that are worth the best care or for tough stain removal, this is the place to go. He just rescued a white skirt of my wife's that I dumped a glass of red wine on; we attempted to clean it ourselves to no avail, then it sat for many weeks. She wrote it off as a lost cause. I decided to take it to Holiday to see if they could work a miracle and they did, and he put a lot of time into doing it but only charged me $10. Previously he rescued an expensive custom sofa cover our two dogs had a little party on one evening, it's like new. And it's always been great, friendly service, he's a character and a fun guy and a gentleman to my wife always. Plenty of parking, it's in the shopping center with Nob Hill and now Ranch 99 on the south end, around the corner from Erics Deli and near the Radio Shack in there. read more

First off, I am not a customer of this place. I walked in while waiting for a haircut next door and no one was at the front desk. Next I here the owner in the back cursing his mouth off so I walk out because why would I stick around? Then I hear and see him verbally abusing and yelling at one of his staff members and I just felt incredibly bad for him. The owners are very conscientious and have saved me several times from having to throw away a very good piece of clothing, due to significant staining or spills. WIth the added help of his adult college grad son, I expect the service and overall business will improve even more. This place deserves a 5-star review, not only for the great job they do with dry cleaning, but I was more amazed by their alteration services. I have taken two pants to them one of which other had told me there is no way to alter the way I want and they got them done for me perfectly. My experience is not as historic as some other, only about 3 years, but it has always been great! Their customer service is good, and their prices are average. However I was not happy with the quality of their work. I asked for heavy starch and it did not feel like there was any starch on the clothing when I picked it up. When I asked if they had used a heavy starch I was advised the material would not take the starch. I was surprised because other cleaners have not had an issue with the material and applying starch. They also did not press the lapel in the manner I asked. They fixed it quickly, but it required an extra trip to the store. It was not a horrible experience, but I was not impressed. Before you sign up for the "annual cleaning plan" I recommend you use their services a few times. read more

I drop off the clothes and within 1-2 days he is done with them. He always says " when do you need them" and whatever I say he's always like you got it. These guys are great! Good prices, and quality work on the cleaning. But here's the real reason why I'm writing the review and giving them a 5. So the other day for work I was wearing a brand new pair of slacks that I had just purchased over the holidays. It was the first time I had worn it, and of course that afternoon I spilled coffee all over my desk and my left leg. So I knew I needed to drop off this pair of pants and shirt somewhere after work. Well, I wasn't fully aware of their hours. After a trip to the gym and the commute home, I drove by seeing that they were closed, it was about 7:30. So the owner was locking everything up for the night, but he obviously saw me trying to park. He asked me if I was trying to drop off something, and I told him I had one pair of slacks and one shirt. I started to say, "It's ok, I'll come back." Then he said, "No, park and come in." He had everything shut down on his computer, but he wrote me up a reciept, and I gave him $11, when I owed $12. I asked him if he was sure about it, and he was super nice. I just went back today with another couple of pairs of slacks and another shirt to drop those off and settle up on the $1 difference from before. Look, I don't know much about what makes a dry-cleaner good verses bad. But I hope my story illustrates the point that these guys take care of the customers. Now, no one should take my story and use that as chance to drop things off with them after they close. That's not my point. My point is, this guy when out of his way to open up his shop, and take whatever cash I had on hand so I could drop off my one shirt and pants to be cleaned. He was incredibly gracious. I would recommend this cleaners to all my friends and family. They did an exceptional job cleaning my white comforters and three purses. Everything came back super clean and I was surprised that they were able to clean the salad dressing that spilt on the fabric inside one of my leather purse. We have been using Holiday/Green Sky Cleaners for years and I have never had such reliable and expert cleaning. I used to be a seamstress and I know my fabrics but Mike actually knows them better and I trust his judgment. We have never had anything but perfect results and Mike is a very friendly person, so it is usually a pleasant experience to stop by. You can pay people to work but you cannot pay them to care--that's a gift. Mike actually cares about getting excellent results for all of your cleaning dilemmas and it shows. read more

I had an emergency. It was 6pm on a weekday and I needed my suit pressed before I left town at 6am the next day. I called and they confirmed that I could pick it up at 5:15am because they started their machine at 4am. True to their word, I came by a 5:15am and they brought it out to me, pressed. Best $10 spent. I don't get how this place gets 5 stars. This place is pretty shady. I went for the wash and fold service where it says there's a 10 lb minimum. When I went to drop my laundry off (which was about 12 lbs), he charged me $37.25. I asked why so much and he said that he would need to use the 25 lb washer so he's charging me for the 25 lbs. So I asked him if I can run home and grab more laundry and he said sure. I went to get 10 more pounds worth of laundry and he said I'm over 8 lbs so he's going to charge me another $7.50! According to him, total weight was 33 lbs. So now that I have all my laundry back, I weighed it one more time at home. 21.1 POUNDS! So this guy charged me an extra 12 pounds of laundry!!! Hamid has been taking excellent care of my dry cleaning for the past two years. He uses a green cleaning method and my clothes have always been well cleaned, pressed, and undamaged. He understands fabrics well and has never disappointed when I request for items to be pressed or cleaned a specific way. I found him thru yelp, after some quite disastrous experiences with my previous dry cleaner. If you have delicate special pieces you would want a dry cleaner you can trust. The nicest part of this place is the owner is very friendly and remembers me every time I come in. Nothing says "home" like your dry cleaner knowing you! Service has been great: They cleaned a nasty red wine stain off one of my dresses and have hemmed several pants and dresses perfectly. They even know how to hem my jeans so they still have the original bottom. This is great for short people who can never find jeans the right length. I find this dry cleaner and launderer to be first rate. He delivers on time, and over 10 years I have never been disappointed with any of my returned items. In addition, he will do additional small tailoring tasks, and when you need something ahead of the typical schedule, he works to deliver to that date. I have my normal clothes dry cleaned here every week, alterations done every month or so and always very happy. Furthermore, they did miracles with my wedding dress and shoes (I had a hell of a party for my wedding and my dress was black at the bottom). They are friendly, flexible and do take challenges.
