Nancy is really sweet and is an absolute genius when it comes to alterations! I had a couple of dresses that just needed to be made a couple inches shorter. When I tried them on so we could figure out exactly how much length to take off, I commented that I really wished the dresses were more fitted. (Why is every dress shaped like a pillowcase lately? It's so frustrating!) Nancy said she could alter the waists on the dresses to make them more form-fitting. I know that people alter wedding dresses all the time to make the waists fit better, but it had never occurred to me that this could be done for just the normal dresses I wear to work every day! Nancy did an absolutely beautiful job. The dresses looked like they were made just for my body, and the price was totally reasonable! I am deducting one star because, as other folks mentioned, she isn't totally reliable and you can't be sure that she'll actually be there during the hours of operation posted on the window. Decent job cleaning but completely unreliable business. I dropped my suit and my wife's dress off to be cleaned for a wedding and when I returned on the day she said to the store was closed. The store was closed for the following two days and I could not get in touch with her no matter how hard I tried. I eventually ended up having to buy and rent new clothes for the wedding. She eventually showed up two days after the wedding (now a week after when I was supposed to pick up my clothes) and she had no explanation as to why she was gone. She even went so far as to say she was there the previous week when she clearly hadn't been as I had called and stopped by numerous times. My boyfriend randomly found this place on Yelp and the reviews are NOT wrong. Not only is this place fast, Nancy is honest, funny and very kind. I dropped off a bunch of jeans I've been neglecting to alter in my closet. Nancy told me that she'd get my items done in a week. I picked everything up today and let's just say, I am definitely bringing my clothes to get altered here from here on out! I dropped off: 1 body con skirt that had a hole on the side that needed a simple fix - $5 1 pair of Rock & Republic jean shorts that I wanted double stitching for the raw hem so it wouldn't fray more - $5 5 pairs of premium denim jeans hemmed to length, all original hems - $16/each 1 pair of slacks that I wanted the length hemmed and taken in a lot. I bought 1 size too big thinking that it would shrink - $20 Total = $110 Nancy only charged me $100! She also takes credit card/ATM debit so you don't have to worry about carrying cash. How's this for a scientific test - I bought a bunch of different shirts that all needed sleeve shortening, so I split them across the top two alternation shops in Sunnyvale: Rose Cleaners and Santiago's Tailoring. A/B testing FTW. One Express 1MX shirt and one Calvin Klein shirt per shop. Shirts of the same brand were identical, differing only in color. "All extreme slim fit". *INTERACTION*: Rose Cleaners is a one-woman shop (Nancy). She's nice but her English is mediocre and it took quite a bit to help her understand what I needed. Her attitude could use more "can do" vs. "that's how clothing works". *SHOP*: super low-tech. Nancy kneeled next to me and stuck some safety pins at the vague location where the sleeve should've been trimmed. *ALTERATIONS QUALITY*: Have a look at the picture I added of the four sleeves compared. In each case, the sleeve vent was buttoned. Rose did overall a better job at having the sleeve button face down, rather than sideways, and having the sleeve closed in a nice overlapping manner rather at an unsightly angle. The amount of loose threads was small. *PRICE*: 25% cheaper than Santiago's. *PRESSING*: The shirts wore newly bought, not worn yet, and had horizontal creases from the way they were package. I had asked for pressing, and those creases were removed. Sleeves still had a crease, but apparently that's not really avoidable unless you manually iron them carefully. Conclusion: best sleeve shortening shop in Sunnyvale IF you make yourself very, very clear. Enunciate :) read more

My experience: Dry cleaned my rain coat for $15.00. Got it back and the lining was ripped at most seams. Brought to Nancy's attention, and she immediately blamed the garment and stated this happens. I confirmed with her again to make sure we understood each other, and she said yes, that this is a common occurrence. She also stated that I was "lucky" because she didn't check before hand for rips, so she was going to fix it for free. When I went to pick it up, I inspected the garment this time, now knowing how she deals with issues, and I found a seam still ripped. She did fix it on the spot, but it was a poor job overall with the repairs; crooked and sloppy. I know the lining is inside, but this coat has been to other DCs before and never was I warned about this by any other DC. I also called other DC's and they were not aware of this phenomenon. In parting she was still trying to convince me it was Calvin Klein's fault and his incompetent workers. Good luck if you use this DC. read more

I used this cleaner service like 2 years ago and I remembered the price was fair. There is no clear price tag anywhere online. just be aware. My new favorite place for alterations! I had two jackets where my buttons had 1) been eaten by my dog and 2) had fallen off and the work that was done was excellent. Worst dry cleaner we've ever been to. The lady charged me for a "dress", even though I dropped off a long silk tank top. She refused to change the charge even though we showed her that it was a long shirt. She's a short woman, and she put my dress against her body and told me she could wear it as a dress. It has long slits on the side, and is clearly not a dress.... but she wouldn't listen. We never had to argue with anyone over something so stupid before. I don't mind paying extra for long shirts but I don't appreciate people telling me that my shirt is a dress just to overcharge me. They clearly do not respect customers. What makes you think they will respect your nice expensive clothings? I would not trust them with anything. Never going back. read more

Great value, great results! As someone who uses dry cleaners under the utmost of duress, I did a LOT of research before bringing my favourite 'dry clean only' items here. I needed two dresses cleaning, and a zip fixing on my favourite dress (I've worn it so many times the zip had worn out!). Alas, I did not get the lady's name, but not only was she friendly, personable and helpful, but also did an incredible job! What a dishonest rip off place !! Called for a quote in on a short wool jacket, told me $11 on the phone when I show up at the store the lady said it's not waist line short so it's 13$. Ok - the bottom of the jacket reaches the bottom of the belt, so one inch below the waist maybe? Nancy is the sweetest and she is seriously the best!!! There is seriously nothing that she can't do when it comes to alterations. I bring all my pants and jeans to her to get hemmed and they always come out beautifully! I have a tendency to lose/gain weight throughout the different seasons and she never fails at taking my clothes in or letting them out so that they fit the contour of my body precisely. Seriously, I would have to throw away everything in my closet if I didn't find her. Sometimes I bring in things that are completely ruined and can't be fixed and she will be honest with me and tell me that she can't fix it... (Bummer !) but it just shows you that she is honest and doesn't want to rip anyone off. As for cleaning, she is quick, affordable and efficient. Everything is always perfectly clean and hung nicely when I pick up my garments. Just got my leather jacket cleaned by her and it came back looking like it was brand new. What more can you ask for? After this great experience, I came back with my boyfriend's slacks which needed some sewing. She sewed it very well and my boyfriend loved her work. I got a bunch of items cleaned here, two coats, some tops, and everything came out great! Prices are reasonable, the lady I talked to was very helpful and very sweet, I liked coming here. I had one white coat that had a stain from at least 3 years ago, a hot chocolate stain that I had tried to wash out and it didn't come out, so I showed it to her and she said they'd do their best and when I picked it up the stain was completely gone! So the coat that I had stopped wearing that I cut as a loss is ready to go again and I'm so excited. I was surprised that they were able to remove such an old washed stain but they worked their magic and I was so happy with my service because of that and will definitely bring all of my dry cleaning to them from now on. I'm from Stockton which is over an hour away from this place but I would travel the distance for a great tailor! I'm a petite girl that has a hobby of shopping too much. Most of the clothes I buy doesnt fit my small frame all that well and I know I can count on Nancy to fix it all - spot on!! She is the best at what she does, i swear! All of my cute dresses are tailored exactly to my liking, whether it's simply shortening the straps, fixing the chest & waist area, adjusting the zipper, or shortening the length of a dress. I know I can count on Nancy for her original hem on all of my expensive designer jeans. I've never seen any other alterations place that can execute a perfect "orginal hem" as Nancy can do. Whenever I come back to pick up my designer jeans, they look like they've never been touched & miraculously the length of the jeans fit perfectly!! Other places just cut above the hem line and then sew that piece higher up, so you get that awkward flap on the inside of your jeans. i hate that so much!!
