These avocado slices were so small; I contemplated using a magnifying glass just to confirm their existence. I'm convinced I paid for a mere fraction of an avocado when, at the store, I could have bought three whole avocados for the price of this microscopic serving. In the spirit of finding the silver lining, let me commend Green Tomato Grill on their imaginative take on minimalism. Who knew that two avocado slices could be stretched so far? It's like they attended an art class and mistakenly thought they were practicing abstract expressionism on my plate. Now, let's talk about the taste - because evidently, Green Tomato Grill believes that flavor compensates for the great avocado heist. A few weeks ago, we found ourselves in Orange and were in search of a healthier dining option when Green Tomato Grill caught our eye. It turned out to be a great little spot with a relaxed, mellow atmosphere. The outdoor patio was especially refreshing, the perfect place to enjoy a meal. Service was excellent from the start. The team was welcoming, and the young woman who took our order was genuinely friendly and accommodating. We started with the Greek Mezze Wrap, filled with grilled chicken, artichoke hearts, bell peppers, pepperoncinis, Kalamata olives, tomatoes, mixed greens, and a flavorful chimichurri hummus, all wrapped in a wheat tortilla and dressed with Greek vinaigrette. It was fresh, well-balanced, and something I'd definitely order again. We also tried the crispy tofu BBQ bowl and a side of sweet potato fries, both delicious and didn't last long at the table. I found this restaurant thanks to Google maps. When I got there, the register section was crammed with people waiting to order, people waiting for their takeouts and people trying to get the stuff from their self-serve station after their orders so it looked chaotic. Probably because of the time and the number of people, the staff looked overwhelm at they just wanted to take orders and next in line. I like that they offer a lot of interesting looking items and gluten-free options. The first thing that caught my eyes was the green chile pork burrito. Unfortunately, the breakfast menu is until 12 and I had to go for the chicken Cesar wrap. I didn't have to wait a lot for my order and the wrap was just okay, it came with a small portion of popcorn with some type of zesty chili powder. My best friend did it again. I think I might go vegan because of all the amazing places she's showed me. I came here today with her and my son. I got him a kid's chicken and rice bowl, it comes with two veggies and is a lot bigger than I thought it would be. He couldn't even finish it (he's eating it now for dinner ;) ) I got the kids cup and put pineapple ginger lemonade in it. He loved it!! I ordered the vegan burger and it tasted AMAZING!!!! Had to put in a review asap! Came here for lunch and came back again for dinner! It was my first time here, and the cute girl at the counter recommended the flatbread melts. DELICIOUS. I had a Greek chicken melt which came with a greek yogurt sauce on the side. When I came back for dinner she recommended the Salmon Salad. Normally I am not a salad guy, but it really hit the spot. The salad was bigger than I thought and I washed it all down with some of their Agave Cucumber Mint Lemonade and fried green tomatoes. The dishes here are colorful and prepared fresh. We have been passing this restaurant every week when we are in Orange and it is always packed. Inside table and chair dining. Veggie, gluten free and vegan options next to carnivore - they are here to please everyone. The husband tried the Vegan Char burger with lime popcorn, tasty though the cheese wasn't melted over the top , just merely placed in between the lettuce and avocado. I tried the BBQ Tofu bowl seasoned with lemongrass and served with black beans, snow pea, jicama and a bunch of other yummy veggies all sloshed with a chipotle BBQ sauce- extremely good. THE MOST DELICIOUS LUNCH EVER. No, really, EV. ER. I'm so glad I came back to Green Tomato Grill, I just tried the thai shrimp bowl for lunch and it was amazing. Fresh, lots of veggies, full of flavor, just spicy enough, and the shrimp (which I usually hesitate to order unless I'm in a major seafood restaurant) were plump, perfectly seasoned, cooked just perfectly and snappy fresh. I really like how pretty much everything can be customized to be made vegan. I ordered the grilled chicken club sandwich and substituted the chicken with grilled tofu and it was a super combo especially with the chabatta bread. I brought my wife here for her first time hoping they would have the Nashville Spicy vegan chicken sandwich but it wasn't on the menu any more which was too bad bad because we both love spicy "chicken" sandwiches. I grew up in Orange, and it was always so hard to find good food. Ended up moving, but when I went back to visit my family I found this wonderful new cafe and I'm definitely a fan. They have a ton of options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike, the food is super fresh, and almost everything I've had there I've loved. Not the biggest fan in the world of the steak the one time I had it, a bit chewy, otherwise this place is certainly 5 star worthy. It's been a while since I was here last but I have to say I'm disappointed. Ordered online and got my bowl. It was overly warm (the packaging) and almost too hot to the touch. Then it was packed to the brim. Not that it's a bad thing but it was difficult to eat and it was also so overpacked with rice. It was our first time there with a recommendation for my friend. Prices are good for the quality of food, staff is very friendly and have given me good suggestions. Thrilled by the clientele. Sat outside and shared a bench. Everyone there was super friendly and I didn't have to feel bad about my toddler who raided the fountain and had to be chased almost the entire meal. I love Green Tomato Grill! Most of the staff are friendly! There was this one staff member who literally looked like death and felt that she wanted to murder everyone in the store, she was the one delivering food to the tables.
