Before we worked with Bert, this was a huge issue every time it rained, as water would sleep through the cracks into the crawlspace below. Other contractors wanted us to redo the entire porch, but Bert suggested a more conservative option of redoing only the really bad areas and touching up the rest. He and his crew were super careful to make sure dust didn't get into the house, covering all the windows and porch with plastic before they got to work. Bert also fixed another part of our brick pathway that was sunk lower than the ground level and made it look good as new. Sometimes I work with contracting firms where an attentive sales person asks about your project, and then a separate team (plus an annoying game of telephone) comes to actually work on the project. Not with Maldonado! At least for now Alejandro is not only figuring out the design with you but actually building the fence 5. They planted some things that died quickly (that is fine, that happens) and others that were in shaded areas that require more light than they get; essentially not growing in months (that should not have happened). Additionally, they forgot some plants we had discussed and then required multiple follow-ups on my end to replace some that died. Finally, and this is what really made me give them a one star review, they recommended a new gravel for our stairs with an adhesive to keep it together. That adhesive failed. They changed their story multiple times on the cause of the issue depending on who on their team I talked to; field crew said it was them, owner said it was on the supplier...In the end, it was on me to pay them for a more powerful adhesive product and for another day of labor for a team to come back out to complete the job properly. Well, guess what, that adhesive is coming apart again after limited use. In all, poor choice of some plants / locations and subpar engineering work and terrible accountability. If you like to pay for other people's mistakes, by all means, use them.

He knows every aspect of residential construction and can come up with creative solutions for whatever issues you're having. He handled three issues on our property--a back-up sump pump, a downspout that was bringing water back into our house instead of to the street, and some washout from underneath one corner of our foundation from years of rainwater running where it shouldn't.
