This Sushi Boat location is in terminal b in the San Jose airport. My husband and I walked from terminal A and it wasn't too long of a walk. They have a grab and go section of sushi. We got a roll, and it was really good! We were really happy that we ordered the chicken katsu because it was delicious. I don't think katsu sauce, so the nice worker got me some teriyaki sauce. The seating area was a little disheveled and we did have to wipe down our own table. It is a little bit more on the expensive side, but we expect that at the airport. This sushi spot is located in Terminal B at SJ International Airport, between gates 22 and 23, Smash Burger on the left, Trader Vic's Outpost to the right, shared seating with these eateries on both sides of the Sushi Boat storefront. I got a side order of the chicken & pork gyoza which comes with 6 pieces (the full order comes with 8 pieces plus rice and soup, according to the worker). Service was sufficient, and my food was ready in less than 10 minutes. The taste exceeded my expectations, some of the best fried gyoza I've had anywhere, let alone an airport. It was freshly made and cooked just right, with a flavorful filling and a light crisp exterior (a bit of a tempura batter), served with soy sauce for dipping. So, I took my money to get hot food. It's been a busy day. This is my first solid food if the day at 4 pm. I gobble down a teriyaki chicken donburi and miso soup. Ahhh... So comfy. The rice is one of the quality ingredients that I could taste. It's a little in the sweet size. If they add a little vinegar, it could be sushi rice. Chicken was grilled perfectly. Their food claim area is right in the middle of where people are in line to order. Make sure you grab a receipt for your number. I got the vegetable udon soup, which cost $15.95 + tax. It was so nice and refreshing to eat. There weren't many people at this place when I came around 5:30pm on a Friday, so you can place your order quickly. I think it was worth the price, because the bowl was huge. I actually didn't get to finish it since the delay got cut back by 10 minutes. Service is ok, they call your order and you have to get it yourself, instead of them bringing it to you, which was a bit of a hassle since they set it a little high on the countertop which could easily cause spills if you're not careful. There is plenty of seating around but I did get a little confused as to whether they'd bring it out to me or call my order, so I decided to sit right in front of the counter. For a place called Sushi Boat, this review has nothing to do with sushi. Instead, there is a uniquely awesome experience here worth sharing that I think most people might miss. My son and I have been coming here for the past 8 years with a brief break during the pandemic; I am grateful they survived! We've ordered a variety of things in the past, but we've always enjoyed their chicken udon. It's just fantastic. Now, some people will hear udon and immediately set in their minds the idea of the thick udon noodles and the traditional ingredients and flavoring you will find in most Japanese restaurants. While the noodles are the traditional style, the vegetables here instead are what you might find in an American chicken soup - carrots, lettuce, etc. Even the broth doesn't appear to use the standard flavoring (as far as I can tell). But DO NOT be mistaken - this chicken udon needs to be appreciated for what it is and not what it isn't. To me, this chicken udon is the version you would get if you asked a Japanese chef to make the perfect chicken noodle soup. It hits all of those comforting notes that you get from grandma's chicken noodle soup, but in perfect balance. You get to appreciate the flavors of all the fresh ingredients - nothing is drowned out. The chicken is grilled and tender. The broth is clean and flavorful, but not too salty and retains the smokey aftertaste of the grilled chicken. It is always a debate for me whether or not to drink the remaining broth. But I usually drink the broth. And jiggle my way down to my gate. This is not just chicken soup with udon noodles in it though - it has a unique flavor that still retains the subtle, yet comforting character of a good bowl of udon. So, this is the experience worth having - get a bowl of chicken udon and a bottle of Kirin. Sit and enjoy both (assuming you have more than 45 minutes before boarding). Finish the udon. Finish the beer. If you're really lucky, you'll belch the best tasting belch you've ever had and instantaneously feel like someone loves you. You're welcome. read more

Not bad for airport food let alone sushi. They have alot of prepackaged sushi. I usually am afraid to get these but saw that they were replenishing what they had out so knew that they were fresh or at least fresher. They also have teriyaki bowls and tempura which was made to order and looked pretty good. Lots of seating so you don't have eat sushi on your lap while at the gate. Hours on Yelp are wrong not sure why it says 10am-11am but I ate at 4pm and obviously they were open. read more

Pretty hearty meal, comes with a side of miso soup. Chicken was good and the vegetables were fresh. Could have used a little more sauce, or available sriracha sitting around. Temperua Udon, good broth. Decent noodles. Not much to be said about it. It's good if you're really craving it, but I would probably try a different meat option next time. I had the Giant Roll and it was pretty good. It definitely exceeded my expectations for airport sushi. Overpriced at the same price you'd pay for a roll at a real sushi restaurant but overpriced airport food shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. I appreciate that they had Japanese beverages available. The Red Bean Mochi along with the white peach Calpico soft drink definitely hit the spot after a long weekend of heavy American comfort food. My friends had the Udon and they too were happy with their meal. In the dining area to the right of Sushi Boat, many of the tables were dirty and haven't been wipe down. Two garbage areas were so full, that people were justs placing their trash on the counter housing the trash cans. We sat for 45 minutes and no one came around to wipe tables or clear the garbage area. Overall, if in the San Jose Airport again I would have no trouble with swinging by Sushi Boat for a roll and some Japanese snacks. Arigato! read more

This is an alternative to Chik fila which is just gross... and smash burger which is boring as they come. Tried the katsu chicken which comes with this sauces that's pretty good and rice.
