Rode the bike out here from South Valley, was greeted at the door. Waitress is sweet and fun. Ordered appetizer Spinach dip. Entrees are: Spinach, Artichoke, ravioli. Peanut noodles with chicken breast and broccoli. That peanut sausage was so good!! We could not eat it all and we both got takeout boxes. Desert was Almond Butter chocolate mousse pie. And we loved it! It looked like a work of art! This place is awesome. I felt like we were in an expensive restaurant but, prices are so reasonable. It is a great hip place to have dinner or hang out. They have a bar and it looks like they specialize in wines. We don't drink so can give you much of a review of that. They have free WiFi too! What's not to love?! read more

I went back and got more of the black bean sausage soup. I don't understand why it's not a regular on the menu because it is incredible! The next day I went back and got the soup of the day which was potato soup and I got the Sangre de Cristo. The sandwich, basically a turkey, egg, and cheese baked in to French toast, is way overrated in my opinion. And the potato soup was not good at all! The young lady who took our order was friendly. The issue was that the couple who sat down 17 minutes after us were tended to much faster than us. My food was not that good. I absolutely loved the food that I had yesterday!! It was by far the best food I've had since moving here. The pork jager schnitzel was phenomenal and their mashed potatoes with mushrooms and bacon was to die for!! I would definitely go back and eat there again. Food excellent as always, however, the service during our last visit was marginal. It was hard to get a smile out of our waitress/the hostess. Feeling was they wanted to get out of there for the night (we were well within their Open hours). After our meal we wanted to order another round of drinks but our waitress (as well as at least 2 other employees) were behind the bar looking at their phones. 10 mins later we just wanted the bill and (finally) paid out. A great place to get out of the heat in the late afternoon. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the setting. The staff was helpful and did a good job making good out of a bad situation. We've dined here several times. The wait staff has always been friendly with good service. I am a wine drinker and have been disappointed with the meager selection that is not very good! I usually get the burgers which are OK. However, the bun (which is just a basic bun) is too small for the larger burger. We ended up here on New Year's eve when nearby restaurants were packed. I asked for an extra side of blue cheese dressing. It seemed to be watered down and I was charged for it. I think the place has potential. Greenside was an east mountain local favorite for quite some time, and then hit a downward spiral in quality and service. The owner and manager have clearly worked hard to fix the issues, because it is BACK! Great food. Lots of creative options. Nice wine and beer choices. Kind waitstaff. The best part is the kids menu! Got the Sangre De Cristo sandwich and the Chicken Fried Steak, between the 2 of us we split them. aside from the Sangre De Cristo coming with a very paltry amount of green chile. (something fixed by getting more from the kitchen to add). it was all good. (i'm not sure the sweetness of the hawaiian bread really helped the sandwich, but that's just my tastes, if i get it again i will ask if they have a sourdough to substitute), but yeah probably not not worth just driving out there for, but its worth it if you are in the area and hungry. read more

Wow! New Mexico East mountain charm to the core! I had the turquoise green Chile hamburger cooked medium and they nailed it. They use real sharp cheddar that bursts with flavor and a mild green child chop with great flavor. I had the gluten free bun and although no gluten free bun is as good as a real gluteny bun this one was one of the better buns I've had. We went to eat on a Wednesday and it was overcrowded due to some event and the manager (long brown hair older lady) was so mean to an elderly couple that sat next to us. The elderly woman had a burger and it was cold and the buns were burnt! It really looked terrible from where I was sitting. She told the waitress and the manager jumped in and stared to point her finger in the elderly lady's face and was scolding her! Had lunch here yesterday after a nice snowfall. The mountain views from this place are awesome! Ah, but we're here to talk about food, aren't we .... Let me cut straight to dessert (see pics). I had here the most amazing molten chocolate cake I've ever had. I've had this dessert in a number of restaurants in ABQ and elsewhere, and I've even made it at home, but they have perfected this dish here! Just a thin crust all around and lots of warm chocolate goo inside! I think there may have been tiny almost melted chocolate chips in the batter as well. None of the batter had been allowed to reach a cakey stage so the full chocolate flavor was enveloping my tongue like a [insert risqué analogy here]. But long before the dessert came out, I had the Romesco appetizer (see pic). This is a roasted pureed red pepper dip with garlic, lemon, and almonds. Served with thinly sliced bread for dipping. The bread was a little tangy (sourdough?) and the crumb more dense than a baguette. It was good! In between the appetizer and dessert was the Sangre de Cristo sandwich (see pics), which I ordered with fries (they also have house made chips, or salad). This would be their take on the Monte Cristo sandwich. The big difference is the use of Hawaiian Bread (a sweet enriched loaf, much like Challah but without eggs) and the addition of chopped green chili. Nice! You'll also notice a picture of the root beer I ordered: Way 2 Kool Root Beer on draft from the Sierra Blanca Brewing Co. in Carrizozo, NM. Good taste, but a little flat (carbonation-wise). Still, I'd order it again. I'm not sure if the lack of carbonation was done on purpose, but I actually liked it without so much carbonation. The flavor was not overly sweet. Goes good with food! I should also mention that the atmosphere was pleasant (see pic) and service good. I will definitely be back here. There are many things on the menu I still need to try. The breakfast menu looked very green-chili-centric, so I'll need to check that out next time I'm in the mood for New Mexican cuisine. read more

Greenside Cafe has generally good food. We eat here often. My biggest complaint is the chintzy serving of fries both sweet potato and regular they serve with the meal or on the side. It seems like a strange place to cut costs if that is what they are doing. A larger portion of fries would be appreciated because they are good! read more

We have been coming here for a few years. Today we were both disappointed to find our extra small tub of tater sauce was charged to our bill for $2.82. That is poor business sense- especially when the very generous serving of freshly prepared fish( why we came-it is so amazing) took more than one serving of sauce. read more
