STAY AWAY from the drop-bundle service. I dropped off a Restoration Hardware quilt on which my cat had thrown up. I mentioned the spots when dropping it off, the woman sprayed the spot with something, I don't know what, but she didn't ask and I don't think it needed the spot treatment. She kept repeating that it would cost me $30 to wash and dry. I had dropped this off once before and I knew the cost. So even though I nodded and said yes, that was fine, she kept on repeating the cost as if I was deaf. She was not the same woman who had been there on my previous trip and lacked all of that other woman's good graces, but whatever... HOWEVER, when I went to pick it up yesterday, this is what I got back. Looks like sunlight splashed on my taupe-colored quilt, right? But no, somehow they splashed bleach it, OR it was whatever she sprayed on the quilt. This is a very big spot that goes through to the other side. She tried to gaslight me and tell me that was what it looked like when I dropped it off, which was an enormous falsehood. I cannot believe that they did this. She finally backed down when I adamantly refuted her repeated attempts to assert that I dropped it off that way. So she didn't charge me, but what is $30 to the cost of replacing it at hundreds of dollars? I will NEVER go there again and if you have something you value or is of value, DO NOT take it there. Stay away. I am so angry that they absolutely ruined an expensive item. At this point, it would cost me over $400 to purchase another and I am looking into options with small claims. They should know what they are doing, but apparently don't and based on her trying to gaslight me rather than take responsibility, they don't care either. Be forewarned... go elsewhere, don't let this happen to you and your expensive items. read more

Several machines are broken and at least one of the change machines is always broken so come prepared. The women who run the show here are truly wonderful. I sometimes do my own linens here and sometime opt for the wash and fold. They do an amazing job with the wash and fold at a ridiculously fair price, and are super attentive to making sure they use the right detergent for you if you have sensitive skin. I've come in here on several occasion to just drop some sheets and blankets off and the motherly way they wouldn't even let me do it myself and said "oh just these?here give us your quarters we'll go ahead and put those in and dry them for you and call ya when they're done". So kind. Best of all they are really friendly, and I genuinely enjoy going in and talking about worldly things with them. They are often listening to Chinese news and I get a chance to ask them what's the latest and we have nice conversation. Even taught me a couple Chinese phrases and were nice enough to compliment my pronunciation. I'll definitely keep giving them my business; they really earn every penny of the money I spend here. I had 3 heavy bags of laundry (70lbs to be accurate) ... I was sure that my will power to have clean clothes was strong, but did I really believe it would not falter when it was time to finally fold them all ??? NOPE! So I dropped them off to The wonderful Wizard of Greenwhich Clean Time -who not only washed and fully dried them, but folded and packed my clothes oh so neatly !! Truly, I've never actually had the audacity to have my clothes washed like a duchess in bridgerton, but this could def be a new life for me. .. for now,, I'm saying taaake my money!!! I am officially over this place. 1st strike - way overcharged me for wash and fold. It wasn't weighed when I got there and they charged me far more than the weight * price/lb. 2nd strike - completely destroyed a dress. Two dresses came back from the dry cleaners with stains that hadn't been there before. I brought them back, and 1 was fixed (albeit shrunk down sizeably, but still wearable), and the 2nd the stain was still their and it was a dress size or two smaller. They did not offer to pay and said I would need to talk to a manager, who was not there. 3rd strike - Their washing machines do not actually work. Several are always listed as out of order, today one of them ate about $1 worth of quarters and they didn't believe me! The second machine took an hour even though it said it would only take 30 minutes, and when my clothes finally came out they were not actually clean (they still had soap residue all over them), so I had to spend another hour and a half there washing my clothes. read more

I've been going there 5 years. Look at the recent string of negative reviews. Not just mine. The service stained one of my shirts and lost one of my buttons. I found the stain when I wore it. Because I wore she told me I had to pay for it. This service tore a collar button off my shirt. The shirt wasn't in the original plastic so I had worn it. I told her I didn't wear because it was missing button. I was asked to pay again for both by the long haired lady who works Saturday mornings. Not a good way to treat a customer of 5 years. I was minding my own business doing my laundry and I had to get more quarters for the dryer since I ran out (it's $7.00 a load for the large washers and I had two loads) and since it was my second time getting quarters from the machine she came and yelled at me! She told me to only get quarters for inside the laundromat which is what I was doing! Started off as good, now they are raising the prices. Additionally several homeless people have been doing their laundry here do to the population increasing during COVID. Was a long time customer but then the staff worked there said I overloaded the machine after I had one shirt left. I often put the same amount which is just below the suggested line stated on the machine. Have been coming here for 12 years. The women are really nice, helpful, and they're hard workers. They're also very accommodating with requests on laundry (hang dry, when I can pick up etc). The facility itself is so-so and they could stand to do an update of paint, and add new tables/seating (heck, they could find something from Ikea for inexpensive). I literally sat here for 15 minutes and just chit-chatted about nothing in particular and sometimes you just need to do that!! I've had two experiences here - one good, the other not so good. I came in to get my bridesmaid's dress for an upcoming wedding altered and true to the other Yelp reviews, the owners were very friendly. They shortened the neck strap on my dress for a mere $13. Nice. After that I brought in a truckload of dry cleaning and realized when I got home that they managed to screw up almost every article of clothing I brought in. I asked them to dry clean and repair a rip in a pair of pants (and was charged for both services) but they forgot to do the repair. One of the shirts I brought in was pretty much ruined because they somehow managed to suck all the elastic out of the sleeves. Another shirt had numerous spots that weren't cleaned. Not so nice. There seem to be about 5 million dry cleaners in the Marina (I suppose all those young urban professionals need to get their Brooks Brothers suits cleaned somewhere) so I'd suggest trying one of them before you go to Greenwich Clean Time. read more

This is where i've done my laundry for the past year. It's a great and just around the corner for me. I usually do my laundry every 1.5-2 weeks and my cost is anywhere from $12 - $16. You can split up loads for a $2 up charge and you can also hang dry anything! My recommendation: Bring your own detergent and leave it there...they'll use your stuff when they wash.... read more

I have been going to Greenwich Clean Time for about 7 years now. I use them for wash and fold, shirt laundering and most of my dry-cleaning. The staff here are awesome - owned by Berline. Berline is there every afternoon/evening and her sister Liz runs the place in the morning. Both are wonderful! They do a great job with laundry - prices are great... plus you can get same day service (hard to beat that)! Dry Cleaning is usually really good too. I take all my everyday items here... the only items I've had difficulty with are my silk blouses. They've been unable to get a stain out from time to time, that another (more expensive) dry-cleaner was able to get out. All in all, I recommend GCT for just about everything and to everyone!! I was not used to the "was and fold" concept before moving to San Francisco but now that I've experienced it for the last 8 months I freakin' love it. Very rude workers. Don't go and if you have no nearby choice don't in the morning because they take all the machines and they block it with their rolling baskets (literally why open up at the time you do when you can't let customers use it) especially the larger commercial washers. The regular washers don't clean well so don't waste your time and money on those. When you ask if you can use the next open machine or even patiently wait they yell at you over and over for no reason. Another customer had to tell them I had been waiting for something to open up before a worker acknowledged us again that we were still waiting. read more

Now that is only if you like getting service like it was your local Cheers bar, where everybody knows your name and you get the same service over and over again, like 2 day turnaround with no extra cost. The one thing I hate about living in an aparetment in teh city is not having a washer and dryer! My husband and I both have healthy wardrobes and always have tons and tons and tons of laundry! The closet laundry mat is a few blocks away and I hate sitting there waiting for my laundry to get done and making sure that I have lots of quarters. We usually ended up spending a lot of money doing multiple drying sessions for our towels and sheets. We decided to try Greenwich Clean Time based on their great reviews. I was skeptical at first just because it seemed weird to hand over our clothes to a store and just hoping that you receive everything back. We dropped our 50lb bag of clothes off on Saturday afternoon and our clothes were ready by Monday morning! Everyone was wrapped in paper by item type(towels all together, socks all together and put in pairs, even our shirts and underwear were seperated out and folded out!) It was 99 cents a pound and completley worth it! I loved that we didn't have to waste time waiting for our laundry and then go home and have to fold everything. They will hang dry delicates and other special items; just separate them. Plus, if you have a special detergent that you want them to use, leave it with Greenwich Clean Time as their other customers do and they will make sure to use that on your laundry. Plus, they are great with time! They can handle 4-6 hour rushes if you come in the morning. I haven't tried them yet for alterations but they are apparently great with alterations! Love that! Tried this place for the first time based on a recommendation...won't ever be going back! Wash and Fold seems like a pretty simple concept to me, yet this place is inept at both aspects. Every article of clothing was returned to me extremely wrinkled. Brand new (expensive) white shirt now has orange stains all over it. Fold job was a joke - nearly every pair of underwear and socks were inside out. To top everything off, I brought the laundry in two bags and they returned it to me stuffed in one (weighing 50 lbs.) which made for an interesting trip up my three flights of stairs. Considering it's one of the only laundromats in the Marina, I guess it has to get a good review. Do they expect us all to wash-and-fold? Well, if so, this place does that too! Anyway, lots of washers/dryers. Machines that actually take your bills. And if you want a LOT of change, there's people working there M-Sat to help you. Dry cleaning there is also pretty good. There's a liquor store across the street if you need more change or a snack...and a yogurt shop a few blocks away too. I've been living on Chestnut St. near Fort Mason for almost 5 years. I tried Greenwich Clean Time when I first moved in and didn't like the results because I felt at that time that they used too much soap. Since then I have tried all the wash-and-folds in my neighborhood and have had problems with them all, ranging from unfriendly staff to an unbelievable number of socks lost to odors that kept coming back no matter how many times I asked for no perfume in my laundry. So I came back to Greenwich Clean Time a few months ago, and I am happier about my laundry now than I have been for years. I learned long ago to supply my own soap, Tide Free, to ask for "no Bounce" in the dryer, and to ask that my socks be folded flat not rolled. Greenwich Clean Time follow these instructions cheerfully, accurately, and reliably. I like how friendly Liz and the rest of the staff are, and as far as I can tell, there is no reason for me to be unhappy with the excellent job they do. I think their rates might be a little higher -- and I mean a little higher by pennies -- than what I have been paying at other wash-and-folds, but the difference is not appreciable, and I am happy to pay a few cents more for the results they have been delivering.
