I could not recommend a wash and fold place more!! Bonnie and Manny are the best around. They are cost friendly, kind, remember you after just one visit, and treat the items you bring in like their own! My stuff always comes back in the best shape smelling wonderful and separated into sections depending on the item. I bring all types of laundry here including towels, blankets, duvet covers, sheets, and all clothing basics. You will not find a better price for such amazing quality! This is by far the best price in the area - $1.20/lb when others go as high as $3. If your metric is price, this is your stop. Bar none. On the other hand I've had sheets, towels, and some small clothes ruined by a process that seems to dry everything on high heat to allow for overloading. While they are really good about apologizing, going so far as to replace my full sheet set, it's still a problem. I like the shop and the staff but the price has them clearly over-burdened and the shortcuts are damaging too much of my stuff. read more

I've been taking my clothes here forever, well more than 15 years. Our relationship started when picked up my first order. I'd forgotten my check and Sue told me to take it anyway and pay her later. This was my very first visit! Sue didn't know me at all and it wasn't a small order. I knew then, this was the place had my business so long as they did a good job....and they did! Sue and I have run the gamut from silk suits during my law firm days to amazing little outfits for my son and daughter, to now when more often than not I'm having something taken in, shortened, adjusted, buttons replaced or just ironed. Sue does a beautiful job with alterations. I've never been unhappy with one of the 100's she's done for me. And I can't begin to count how many times I've run in saying "oh my gosh Sue, I need a miracle" with some deadline or other where I'd procrastinated. Not only have they never lost anything of mine, Sue has known who I was since my second visit there (when I returned the next day to give her my forgotten check). Yes, I am a lazy bastard and love the idea of someone else doing my laundry. I couldn't tell you prices because I've never actually paid much attention to their giant wall menu. Not that I have money to burn by any means...but I'm willing to spend anything, in reason, to avoid fighting over the 1 machine my building has. Anyway.... They do a fantastic job and have always been able to have my clothes back to me the same day, if I ask. I gave them an extra star based on the fact that they tie all my mismatched socks together. I have so many I'm starting to feel embarrassed about the growing sock knot. :( Also, this place is funny...they don't have a tip jar or even seem to expect to get one, which I've noticed at a few laundry places.... but the funny thing is that when I hand my tip to the awesome Asian lady, she smiles and looks away with shock and embarrassment. This place is my laundry hero. Living in Russian Hill smells a lot better than Soma but there were some casualties from the move over here -- namely no parking, no laundry. Seriously, I don't even have shared laundry in the building! Since time is money, I decided to spend that time and money on wash and fold instead of sitting at a laundromat. WHAT A GODSEND. Come on -- they wash and FOLD your laundry. It's a freakin' miracle I tell you. A miracle. Discovering wash and fold was almost as great as discovering housecleaning services. This place has better prices than the other laundry places nearby and the woman at the counter is the nicest ever. I've even had her hem my jeans and sew buttons back on for me. $0.90/lb and you have yourself a deal. The only drawback is that they don't fold the clothe as neatly as my other spot. I mean I shouldn't complain because they fold the clothes exactly how I would have done it (not as crispy) but I can pay $0.10 more per lb and get it done perfectly how I like it. I never thought I'd hear myself say I've fallen in love with an asian woman, but the lady who runs Marvin's is fantastic. 90 cents/lb for fluff and fold and she knew how I liked my laundry after only one visit (cold water wash please, so as to avoid shrinking). I feel a touch bad when I let my clothes build up to the point where she strains to lift my bag over the counter, but she tells me to have a nice day nonetheless. read more

I've been going to this cleaners for almost 30 years, and with no issues. They were always reasonably priced and did a good job. However, those days are definitely over now! I brought in 5 sweaters and a winter scarf to be dry cleaned. They came back smelling so bad, that they stunk up my whole bedroom with the nauseating odor. When I took them back for another try, they, at first, tried to accuse me of adding things onto the order, which was of course untrue, petty and insulting. When they did finally agree to clean these garments again, they came out smelling just as horrible. They have changed the chemicals used for the dry cleaning and what they now use is just deplorable on clothing. Now, I have to dispose of one sweater and the scarf. As far as the rest go, I shall just have to try and machine wash them myself. I should never have trusted Marvin's to do this and shall never go back again. What a waste of money!! If you value your clothes, I suggest you go anywhere else. read more

I love the service at this place. Winny runs the front counter and she is the best. She isn't the owner but it sure seems that she should be. Rain or shine 6 days a week she is there and the service is always on time. I usually get my clothes back the very next day with no extra charge. They do not take credit cards. It's sort of ridiculous to see all these great reviews. That is why I tried this place out. In fact, I have gone there a few times. Here are a couple choice moments: 1. I took my suit there to prepare for an interview. I went to pick it up and it smelled like it hadn't been cleaned and my shirt still had many wrinkles 2. I took a nice jacket there to be cleaned. When I got it back, not only did it smell like it hadn't been cleaned, but it smelled like someone had been smoking near it, and I don't smoke at all! Needless to say, not worth it. This cleaner was recommended to me by my neighbor. Unfortunately, they have lost two expensive silk dresses in a row. The first, they located, the second they have yet to find. Although the front desk woman was apologetic, the manager asked me how much my dress was worth. When I told him (its designer and silk), he scoffed, and asked me if it was made in China. I will give them another wk to locate the dress (and update my review if they do), but please do not bring anything expensive here. read more

I've been taking my things here for about 2 months now and thus far, I've had good experiences. The prices are pretty cheap and the work is always well done. The lady who works behind the counter always makes sure to go over the garments with you and marks all stains with tape. She also didn't show the least bit of judgement when I recently took in my vomit-stuck-together-cashmere sweater.
