I had an urgent plumbing problem at my house, but I didn't want to be shocked with a super high bill. Although I understand it is tough for plumbers to give estimates over the phone without being at the job site, I just wanted a ballpark figure so I could know what to expect. I told him exactly what the problem was over the phone, and he gave me an estimate range based on what he thought the problem probably was. His estimate seemed fair. He responded to my house that same day, and showed up when he said he was going to be there. He ended up charging me the lowest of what he had initially told me over the phone. In the situation I was in, I feel like a plumber could charge whatever they wanted, and I would have no alternative but to pay. I LOVE these 2 plumbers! They were very courteous towards to my huge plumbing crisis!! Stuart and Chris were very patient with a whole bunch of questions and with recommendations that - literally- freaked me out! I was comparing bids from different plumbing companies and it ranged from $8,500- $3,800!!! Before hiring Stuart and Chris - I had many plumbers come and figure out why I kept getting clogged and stoppage and then eventually over flow - running water - water damaged floors!!! They took the time to hear me out! And immediately Stuart suggested there is a need to put in clean out and check to see why there is a leak under my driveway. But at the same time HE was the one that suggested I contact the city of Livermore to look into it. Soooo thus - the recommendation that freaked me out was to break up the concrete and install the clean out at the same time find out why and fix the leak. Worst service I think I have ever received by a plumber. They flushed my tankless water heater & installed a Kohler sink I purchased pre covid and all Kohler products have lifetime warranty, so when it started leaking they said they would contact Kohler and get parts. Well they got the wrong part and charged me double for flushing my tankless water heater what they charged first time I had it done. I called, texted, emailed to get an appointment to finish the job and ask why I was double charged for tankless flush, basically ignored for months or given excuses of all sorts until I said I'd call Kohler and tell them my faucet was being held hostage and would leave a review. The owner texts me a picture of my faucet and says, "Is this yours? It's been on my kitchen counter for months!" Crazy!! Ended up just dropping off on my porch. We've been using Stuart for several years and every time it has been an excellent experience. We had him working on a difficult intermittent problem with the hot water mixing with the cold. Before finding Stuart, we had at least two other plumbers try to fix it without much interest or success. Stuart dug into the problem and after a couple of attempts figured it out and fixed it. After seeing all the 5 star reviews is painful to write this one, because I know business get bad reviews when people are angry. However, I've waited over three months to write this review. StuRt came to our house to replace a couple of filters in the RO system and a leaky hose. I told him I had a filter for the faucet which he installed without any comments or suggestions. Well, I waited a few days before calling him to let him know that our water pressure from that faucet was less than half of what it used to be, he told me that it was because of the filter I gave him! News to me because if he thought that the filter I gave him was going to create an issue he should have said something and install what he had, end of the story. He is the plumber not me!!! Then he said give me a couple of days and I'll call and go back and fix it. It's been over THREE MONTHS, ALMOST $400.00 later and no show, no call. Maybe I'm the unlucky one, but beware. They came to the house on time, fixed the leak, completed the projects I requested and cleaned up as if they weren't even there. I was looking for a plumber and asked my neighbors on Nextdoor. I checked them all out on yelp and saw that Stuarts had the best reviews. I called and left a message and within two hours Chris called me back, and gave me a quote based on the message I left. Wow! He gave me a time to come out, called me 30 minutes prior and showed up when he said he would. He took his shoes off each time he entered my home. The job took way longer than he thought, over 2 hours and did not give up when the first few solutions failed. And then he only charged me what he quoted.
