We had an HVAC tech come out to repair our a/c. Our unit needed a capacitor however the tech told us he had run out of our type of capacitor even though it's a common type. He said he had a more expensive type on the truck and could repair it immediately or else we would have to wait a week for him to return with the correct part. We were going through a heat wave of temperatures over 100 degrees at the time. He told us they only refill their trucks once a week. We felt we had not much of a choice so we were forced to buy the more expensive type so we could get some cooling after a week without it. Our tech also tried to get us to replace parts we didn't need and when we didn't choose the more expensive offers, our tech suddenly became cool and distant when he was very friendly before. We will never call this company again. They overcharged us as well for a simple repair. Don't use this company! read more

We used them years ago for new A/C and were happy with their service. My husband has met the owners and said they are both very nice. My question is why they don't do some test marketing on the ads that they put on the radio. Why would they let Patty sound like such an airhead in the latest one about digital coupons? I can't help but feel that the average person listening to those commercials thinks, "I'm not hiring anyone that sounds that dense!" I change the station every time their commercials comes on. Our technician, Jacob, did such a good job repairing my wife's and my AC unit; he was efficient yet thorough, and made sure to explain what needed to be done in order for things to be properly fixed. Two of the three parts had to be ordered, requiring a second visit, but he only charged us for the one (which we appreciated). Two days after Christmas our water heater decided it was time to start making loud exploding noises. I called Greiner since I'm on their maintenance plan for my heating and air and noticed they also do work with water heaters too. I figured I would take a chance to see if they could help. Luckily the gal on the phone set me up with an appointment for the next day. Not only did she schedule someone to come out and look at my water heater but she also made time for them to do my service too since I was due for one. Yay! How awesome is that?! Alex came out the next day and took excellent care of me. He serviced my heating and air and then also looked at my water heater. We decided that it would be best to replace it with a new one. Once again I thought it would be days before I could have a hot shower but Alex was an absolute wonder and got it scheduled for the next day! Woohoo! So the next day Angel and Jay came out first thing to replace my water heater. The guys were great! They did really nice work and made sure that the job was properly completed with care. They explained the process to me and answered all of my questions. They even took the time to show me how to do a few things to ensure the water heater would properly run and know what to look for should I run into issues. They were very tidy and completed the work on time. My experience with Greiner since day one has always been awesome. These three guys especially blew me away because I was desperate for help and fast results and it is exactly what I got. They all wore masks and were very respectful of my home. Alex, Angel, and Jay were prime examples of how great customer service should always look like especially during the pandemic. Even when the pandemic started one of the techs that came out was very patient and kind too. I can't say enough good things about everyone I've dealt with at Greiner. We would like to thank Greiner Heating & Air for their wonderful service in August 2020!!! It was the hottest week during the month when our air conditioning unit went out. We called Greiner and they came out that day during such a busy time for us and for them as well. They were so wonderful & professional!! Noah came out & he gave us our options on new air conditioners with absolutely no pressure at all. My husband and I took a couple hours to talk it over and make our decision on what we wanted to do. This is definitely an expensive investment and we wanted to make sure we made the right decision for our personal needs. We are so happy that we had Greiner do this job for us. All the staff at Greiner were amazing!! Noah was our service guy who presented us with our replacement options. He also came out a few additional times to help us with things while we were waiting for our install date to arrive. We really felt so comfortable with Noah. He was very knowledgeable on all aspects of this process from the start to the finish. The technicians that all came to install were all wonderful as well!! I wish I could adequately express my level of disappointment with Greiners. They cameour house because our heat and air system needed some maintenance. They said it needed to be replaced at a cost of about $22000. Without agreement from us they showed up about a week later to measure for a new system. We did not have this done. As is recommended we had two other experienced heat and air companies then assess the system. Some repairs were needed but neither said it needed replaced. We asked each for replacement cost and both said about $10,000. In getting neighbor's feedback, it was noted that Greiner's employees worked on commission and they push selling you a new system. We are very disappointed with their business model. We didn't yet need to have the system replaced yet they were marching down that path to the exclusion of a much less costly repair. Obviously we didn't use them. To respond to Danny's comment, there is nothing to "get to the bottom of". My husband was out and when he arrived home several of your employees were sitting on our front steps thinking they were going to measure for a new system. That ended our contact with Greiners. My husband said no that was not happening and they left. Other heat and air companies were called in to assess the system. Another company did the maintenance. You now have the complete story. our trust in Greiners as a business we would trust remains low. I am sorry I am negative in my assessment but I value learning from other customers and we hope our experience is helpful to others as well. To respond to Danny's request for my address so he could talk to his employees, no i'll not do that. We are done with this episode and have moved past it. We had a great experience with Greiner Heating and Air. Nathan was very knowledgeable and patient in answering all of our questions, which helped us to make the decision to replace our 32- year old AC and Heating system at the same time. The installation team arrived promptly, they were clean looking and friendly. They followed every little instruction and other extra services, as Nathan had instructed them to do for us. Although it was not part of the AC or Heating units, Nathan had another guy come out to flush out our tankless water heater. We truly appreciated this as we didn't know that tankless water heaters had to be flushed out once a year. We appreciate that the installation team respected both the inside and outside of our home. They cleaned up very well after themselves. After they left, I could not see a trace of them working in the garage at all. Thank you Greiner! My furnace finally went out after 20years. It was previously replaced by another well known company in Vacaville. Greiner replace the furnace in one day. I went up to look at their work and omg. What a super job they did. I have been an aircraft tech for 20 years and add 20 years as a BART TRAIN technician so I know what I'm looking at. When I say they did a super professional job I mean it. Our 25 year old AC finally bit the bullet during a recent heat wave. With a toddler at home, I was anxious to have it looked at. I knew there was a strong chance it was dead considering it's age. My third call was to Greiner; the two previous companies wouldn't be able to make it out until the next week. Greiner was able to come out the next day so that was really a no-brainer. Jairo arrived wearing a face mask and booties in hand within the window of time agreed upon. After inspection he explained the issue and provided a quote to fix the problem. He then also offered options to replace the system since it was so old. I opted to replace the system as I knew that other things would most likely soon follow that would need repair. I also wanted something quieter, and more efficient. Jairo provided me with 3 separate quotes for 3 different units. We scheduled a visit for measuring my home to determine whether I needed a 4 or 5 ton AC (current AC was 5). The install was also scheduled for the following Friday, exactly one week after Jairo's visit. By Monday, I received a call that they had a cancellation and would be able to install on Wednesday! I was thrilled, as the heat wave continued. After measurements, I was informed that we would only actually need a 3 ton AC! The cost of the project was lowered! Always a nice surprise! If this company was truly shady as others suggest, they could've just left it as is; instead they gave us only what we needed, not what would make them more money. The installation crew was extremely professional with masks and all and informing me of what was going on throughout the install. The experience with Greiner was seamless and smooth and my family and I are completely satisfied and comfortable sitting in our 70-degree home with the peace of mind that the new system is backed by Greiner's worry-free warranty. Took me a couple weeks to get to this review; however, I'm here now. I just want to say that my experience with Greiner has been pleasant so far. I contacted them for a furnace issue and they came the next day. The diagnosis is mainly what I knew what the issue, so it was no surprise here. I also knew my air condition had been hanging on by threads for the past two summers, so when that was inspected...again I knew. My service guy provided a quote and without hesitation I signed. Approximately a week later (12/02/2022), the two techs showed up (Eddy and Matt) were awesome, polite, courteous and worked diligently to complete the job of installing my new HVAC system. I appreciated them very much!!! Eddy even checked my water heater and strapped it up for me as a courtesy. These guys were outstanding. They each explained to me everything I needed to know about my new HVAC system and helped me with setting up my app. They were patient with me and answered all my questions and were thorough with everything. Went through every item on the work performed and explained what each item was. I'm still waiting for finishing touches, which were part of my agreement...2 smoke alarms, a new face grill, filter and a couple other things, but hopefully I won't have to wait too much longer. I also have their maintenance program. recently I had them replace my water heater which was on its last leg. they did an outstanding job on all the work they've done. they are quick and friendly and do great work. they bend over backwards to get the job done. I just had to write about this. I just had this Greiner come out and give me a quote on a pilot light problem i am having with the water heater. He said that if its the thermocoupler which the factory guy told me it costs $38.40 it would be $450.00. Then he says that if its a full internal unit if was gonna be something like $1200.00 and finally to replace the whole unit it would be $2100.00. Wow. I should have known better than to call these guys. I had them come out and give me an estimate for a tankless water heater. Quote was $7000.00 I got the same unit installed for $5000.00 .. This reminds me of another situation that i had with Bonney Plumbing. Emergency situation with the water main shooting out from in front of my home. He charged me $2000.00 . When i had some time to check I could have gotten a local plumber to do it for $650.00 .It is getting ridiculous how these companies are just charging so much money for these items and we pay it. I will never use any of these companies for anything in the future and will make sure that I tell all of my associates about them as well. read more

The office staff and the tech were excellent. We had them out for a no cost second opinion. He showed up on time, masked and ready to go. The tech was very knowledgeable and professional and able to resolve our problem and meet our needs. Our last company went out of business. Being an x maintenance supervisor. I knew right away that they were a very good company. Although you can't really tell about a company with one service call, it is looking good so far. They were able to save us hundreds of dollars and avoid unneeded work. Moving forward we plan to have them preform maintenance and repair on our residential system. read more

Just had our entire HVAC system replaced on our 21 year old home and I have to say that the first initial inspection and quote all the way through the entire installation process, everyone from this company were courteous, professional and punctual. Our heater went out days before our daughters first birthday. Greiner came out the day our heater went out and told us what the issue was. We were told the part may take a day or two to arrive, making our house freezing for a couple of days. The next day they called us saying the part was faulty (not their fault) and that we wouldn't have heat for 4+ days while we waited for another part. Greiner offered us space heaters as a courtesy to get us by until then. Little did we know, they were working behind the scenes to find the part at another location. I received a call later in the day letting me know they would be at my house that day to get our heater working. They arrived on time, and we were only without heat for a short period of time. We are a happy family, and warm for our daughters birthday and for Christmas. Thank you. read more

Patricia and David Greiner, I am writing this EMOTIONAL review on behalf of my father. Your company installed a 40 gallon hot water heater for the cost of $1995.00. The work was not completed. The service agreement states, "Pressure relief didn't run outside "do" to customers." So, in retrospect, the work was left incomplete for unknown reasons. My father had no idea the work was not successfully completed. He trusted your workman to do a job well done. They didn't. The city building inspector took one look at the work and said, "Oh no, who did this work? They know better then to leave this job like this." My father was SHOCKED. He didn't know. The City Inspector said, "They should have told you this would never pass inspection. The problem is... you have so much junk against the wall they couldn't put a relief line in anyway. That stuff needs to be moved." The very next day, he had his Grandson move everything to the side so that the wall was clear so that work could be complete. Embarrassed by the inspector, he then called Greiner back to make an appointment to have the work completed. I had to call Greiner myself to find out exactly what happened. I spoke with Rick. He said, "Your father signed off on the work to be completed." I said, "As a professional isn't it your job to tell your customers... this work will not pass inspection. My father is an elderly man who trusted you to take care he would be safe in his home." Rick also told me, because it is "Air Condition season he would not be able to come out to finish the job for at least two weeks. And yes, his guys don't have time to move stuff around in your dad's garage, we are too busy for that." I said, "Rick my family didn't expect you to move anything but if you had told my father the real problem it would have been taken care of, as it was. I asked him to tell me exactly when the work will be done." He put me on hold for 5 minutes and I was then connected to a curt young woman who said, "We don't know when the work can be done. We are waiting for the part to arrive. When it arrives we will call you." I didn't know you have customers "pre-pay" for work that should have been done in the first place. My father was charged $130 for work to be done in the future. I couldn't believe it! I later, I called and asked to have the fee placed back on my father's credit card and to cancel his monthly service agreement and any future dealings with your company. Interesting, I called several other local plumbers and every last one said, "They should have never left their work like that." Another plumber came and completed the work and in less than two hours. The only thing he needed was copper relief extension. There was no "extra part". I am so hurt your company treated my father so disrespectfully. read more

Needed a hvac system to replace my 18 year old system that was nearly on its last legs. The old unit had a noisy single-phase compressor that used alot of electricity as it was cycling off and on quite a bit. Discussed the many options with Danny and settled on a heat pump system for both heating and cooling to take full advantage of the solar system and minimize the impact of natural gas price fluctuations. Also wanted a system with a variable-speed compressor and air handler to maximize efficiency and maintain a stable temperature. I eventually purchased a Lennox unit with a 22 SEER2 rating. Total cost, including installation, was very competitive and they completed the hvac install in a day, including changing some ductwork and checking the vents. The installation crew was very professional. I have run the unit for a few days, and it is very quiet and uses less electricity than the old one. Thermostat is user friendly and looks good. I also had purchased the solar system and a heat pump water heater from Greiner and have been very happy with their responsiveness and the quality of their work. I don't anticipate there will be any issues but have the peace of mind that they will address all problems if they arise. read more

He did spend a good portion of his time on the job trying to convince me to buy into their service plan. I still had to call out another company to get it fixed right and I dont work for you compeditors. I do work in the remodeling industry and your company does have a horrible reputation. Blakes is just a better company i have used them for a couple other services as well they are always courteous and very professional. If you want to see the difference just see how many complaints that Greiner has with the BBB. Its not just me. Maybe you should call the IRS i hear they have a couple of openings for people to cover up their miss doings. read more

Let me tell you how thrilled I am with their professionalism, service, and work. I met with Roger one week before our energy upgrades started. I initially called to get a second opinion on our energy audit we had done from another company. Roger showed up on time, was straight forward, and presented a bid that I couldn't turn down right on the spot. It literally was half the cost of the other company that we almost went with (red flags went up with that company. I'm glad I got other bids). He (Roger) didn't come off as a creepy salesman like the other companies. He did not harass me that the other energy audit guy. In fact he was honest, polite, and had nothing but positive compliments to give about the owner of the company and his co-workers. Hearing an employee speak very highly of his boss was a huge win in my book. The gal I spoke to in the office to set up our work schedule was very friendly and professional and always called before the crew came out to work. I was very impressed with the crew. They were polite, and friendly and more importantly knew what they were doing. Ruben was exceptional. Our job was supposed to be a week long job and since they worked so hard they finished up in 3 days. No mess was left behind, and before they left they showed my husband what they did up in the attic and how to clean the filter. We had insulation removed, attic sealed, new hvac, Wi-Fi thermostat tank-less hot water heater, new gas line running to tank-less, removal of old hot water heater and patched up the closet space, and new insulation blown in. The best part was they had a lady on the crew. Its very rare to see a fellow gal doing this type of work. Also woman owned. Keep up the good work. I also noticed that one of the reviews that was negative has the same name of the owner of the other company that we almost went with. I would not let that review sway you away from Greiner because they are the real deal. Now lets see how the solar install goes. I will update my review after that. read more

Was told by the Greiner technician that my AC had a cracked heat exchanger....told us tgat it would give us carbon monoxide poisoning...a day or two later we noticed our heater wasnt working properly...looks like the tech unplugged a wire...it looked plugged in but was not making contact ao it looked like something was wrong...did he do that purposefully? I dont know...however we had 2 other companies come out and tell us that the exchanger was not cracked at all....when i looked at it the pictures the greiner tech showed us didnt even look lile they were from our AC...these guys wanted us to buy a new AC....he smiled at my wife and i while he lied in our faces....never will recommend this company read more

We just had Greiner's come out at the end of October and install a whole new heating and air system plus a new water heater. I couldn't be happier with the service I received...the value I received...and the quality of the products I received! The work was done in a day and a half which is very quick! And when the Inspector from Vacaville came out to inspect the work, he was very happy with what he saw! He signed off on my Permit and we were done! And the best part of all is that I received a $2000 Rebate in check which I will be getting in a couple of weeks! So now I have money for Christmas presents! Lol! We had a solar panel system installed by Greiner. I researched this a fair amount and talked to 3 companies including Greiner, as well as customers from all 3 companies. Greiner had replaced our HVAC system earlier and we had a good experience from that; their prices were competitive (one Elk Grove outfit quoted a price double the other two); and Greiner used modern panels with micro-inverters, avoiding the large inverter box on the side of your house. They also managed to run the wires through the attic, so no ugly conduit on the side of the house. Only glitch was the system failed the first building inspection because of what I consider to be very minor issues (missing label, etc) but Greiner is coming out again to fix the issues. They have always been very responsive to correcting the inevitable glitches. I'd use them again, no question. read more

The company I went with also has a much higher rating on Yelp. I also had 2 significant mistakes made by Greiner technicians while servicing my HVAC units. Do yourself a favor and shop around.
