I had done this before at Greulich's on Alma School and Germann and it was super smooth and a great price so I returned. The experience was identical. He gave me an appointment for the next day with an estimated time for completion and even gave me a discount for returning. Everything went exactly as told and the car rides super smooth. I've heard every excuse there is - received wrong part, ordered wrong part, part doesn't fit, maybe they don't make the part anymore... it'll be fixed today (just kidding), it'll be fixed tomorrow (oops forgot to tell you the guy doesn't work Fridays), it'll be done tomorrow (oops you didn't call us in time and now the guy is gone, the machine is broken, whatever), maybe come back in a week.... I took my car in for a routine oil change. That was the only service I needed, as my car was in great running condition. As soon as I picked my car up I noticed the A/C was not working which was not the case at drop off. The manager stated that it was probably a "coincidence" that it went out in the 5 minutes that it sat in their lot. They did not offer any sort of help or fix, just sent me out the door with no a/c and no answers as to how it broke in their care. They also quoted me for 10+ other problems, which I picked my car up, and took it to a Chevy dealership after that. I showed them the estimated repair price for the 10+ items, and they told me I didn't need any of them done except the A/C repair. So beware of this Greulich's if you don't want extra car problems and to be quoted for things that don't need to be fixed!!! read more

Absolutely exceptional experience! My daughter's car overheated and all the coolant leaked out. Greulich's was able to get it in right away and diagnosed it in short time and sent a comprehensive estimate and diagnosis for our review. The price was very reasonable, especially considering they used OEM parts and have a 2 year warranty! Within just a few short hours the same day, they completed the repair and tested the engine to ensure no further damage was done due to the overheating. Reza, the store manager, was amazing to work with and took the time to throughly explain everything done to the car and gave us a huge peace of mind! Be warned about their credit card that they push hard as no interest no payment for 6 months. The truth is you have to make a payment otherwise you will continue to get a $30 late fee. They will charge you $3.99 for a paper statement which they also fail to tell you for each paper invoice they send to you at your home and their interest rate on this card if you don't make a payment after the 6 months is a whopping 34.99% which is actually raping their customers. In my case I called out the store for NOT disclosing this to me and the district manager said he would do good by paying me the difference (interest) because I had other credit cards to use and didn't need the additional ding on my credit report and I could have gotten points had I used my AMEX Hilton card or my Costco card but since the manager that pushed the card on me made it sound like such a great deal for 6 months no interest no payment I fell for it, so I've been trying to get $20 back from DM since I complained and he obliged. I negotiated with the cc company to lower the late fee and I paid it off and closed the account. The District manager has opted to ghost me over $20 credit. This is the kind of ethics you will get at this business. Go elsewhere, this company will do anything shady to over charge you while they make a ton. read more

Don't go to the Greulichs at 1985 S Alma School Rd. in Chandler unless you want to pay to replace things that the techs damaged. I went in for a simple oil change and left the shop with a leaking oil pan. Needless to say, it wasn't leaking when I arrived at the shop. The next morning, I had a pretty good size oil puddle in my garage. The oil plug was over torqued and the threads were stripped. They knew I was leaking oil and they still let me drive away. This is also the 2nd oil pan that this shop had to install in my car. All my oil changes were done at Greulichs so they are obviously at fault. These guys worked with me to ease the cost of this repair but still feel that I was wronged. I didn't mess up the vehicle but was charged $400 for something they caused. Stay away from this shop. read more

This location was recommended to me by a friend. Got my brakes replaced a day earlier than scheduled because they were able to fit me in on short notice. I'm happy with my new brakes, service took less than an hour and a half. The front desk gentlemen were able to answer every question I had about my inspection, thank you for your patience! Fair service. Really liked the digital report once the service is completed. Provided a first time customer oil change coupon - which was awesome! However... the interaction I had while picking up my vehicle was horrible. I arrived before my car was off the mount and the service advisor was friendly at first, but then within a couple of minutes of small talk, he went into a high pressure sales pitch for the Sun Auto credit card. After politely declining, he continued pushing and pushing and pushing. I am a woman and my male partner was with me and even HE felt uncomfortable. When trying to pay for the car service I just received, my card had an error read- and he said "See! You still have a chance to get the card! As soon as you pay, the offer goes away!" My response was to awkwardly laugh it off. My partner and I have declined the card at least 5 times at this point. And he STILL kept going. He came around the counter to walk me through my paperwork and described all the ways I could be saving with the credit card. I stopped responding at a certain point. He continued to pitch me the credit card until the moment I walked out the door. With that being said, I am not sure what kind of pressure the Service Advisors are under to sell these credit cards. However, this strategy was not it. I recommend that the company reevaluates their upselling strategy. read more

I've been a customer of Greulich's for about 4 years now. They always take good care of my vehicle. They do a full diagnostic when changing your oil so you are aware of important things that may need attention on your vehicle. Everyone is super friendly and always smiling, willing to answer any questions you might have. They are super affordable as well! Anywhere else you go for an oil change you expect to pay over $100 but I always pay under $100 which is my favorite part of service. 10/10 definitely recommend read more

Just had my oil changed at Greulich's Automotive in Chandler AZ again, and as usual another great job performed. I had a question about another maintenance alert on my auto maintenance screen and was informed the service could wait until my next service date. A complete inspection report was sent to me with detailed information and pictures. No upsell, just plain old good business practice and great registration, drop off and pick-up service. I no longer have to wait 3-4 hours at my dealership for a one hour job and a better price. These guys are true professionals who I highly recommend. read more

My husband has been going to Greulich's near our house for many years. The oil light has been on in our Honda Accord for quite awhile and it started flashing numbers yesterday! So I naturally thought of Greulich's right away for help! We didn't know what that meant but it really worried me and didn't want any damage done to our car! At 3:00 I called the shop and told the assistant manager about our situation and he seemed really concerned. My husband couldn't get there till shortly after 4:00 and the manager told me to get our car over there as soon as possible. He said they don't normally take appointments after 3:30 but he said they'd get us in. What a big relief!!! Talk about wonderful CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Wanted a second opinion on my car. Had some strange noise coming from the front end - took it to BIG O first where they told me my struts were blown (have had them only for a year and a half so I was immediately skeptical) and quoted me 2.5k. I had a feeling they were pulling my leg and just wanted my money. Then took my car to Greulich's the next day where they did a thorough review of my car (including pictures - upcoming service recommendations, etc - all viewable from my phone which was awesome). They advised me that they thought the culprit was my sway bar that was worn out and needed replacement - also told me my struts were fine with no noticeable damage/wear (shocker). Although they didn't guarantee it would fix my noise issue and it was somewhat of a gamble on my part - they were correct!! They even waived the inspection fee! These guys saved me close to two thousand dollars that someone more gullible than me probably would have just paid blindly to Big O or some other dishonest auto shop. I will be using Greulich again for any other jobs or service I might need in the future, these guys are awesome read more

Customers beware! This place is a SCAM! They totally take advantage of elderly. My 70 year old father's car couldn't start today when my Dad came back from his appointment. Greulich's happens to be at the corner of the street so he stopped by the shop for help. It's the alternator that needs to be replaced. My Dad didn't have enough cash for a big invoice when the shop requested proof of payment so he had to walk home to get the money. Took him 2 hrs to walk home and walk back in 110 degree heat, and the store charged him almost 500 for the labor. "Our fee is $200/ hour - per Cody the store manager - it's the standard charge in the mechanic book". I am not 100% sure what book Cody referred to but having an old man walking in 110 degree in the middle of the day and charging him the whole time does not seem like good customer service. read more

My daughter's truck had a check engine light on. The temp gauge wasn't moving, and the fan ran constantly for about ten mins after turning it off. Error code p0128 indicated that the thermostat and/or ECT should be replaced, which I did myself. The check engine stayed on, and I decided to take it to Cody and Gruelich. On the way to Gruelich, I noticed the temp gauge moving, and the fan stopped when I got to their location. However, the check engine light stayed on. Cody explained it could just be the engine needed to be cycled a few times, and he cleared the check engine light. I'll continue to cycle the engine today and verify that the CE stays off. Cody could have easily kept the vehicle and redid the work I had already done. But the guy is extremely HONEST and explained everything to me in detail. We will continue to bring Cody our vehicles! read more

Had some brake issues with my wife's 2008 Lexus RX350. Took it to Greulich's on Ironwood. Replace several brake components including the master cylinder. Long story short - had to take the car back three times to get the master cylinder fixed. Got the district manager involved and he pretty much took care of everything I getting the car fixed - finally. So they will live up to their warranty - unlike many other companies these days. Paul, Chad & Earl are great! Brought my 2018 Hyundai Elantra in because it sounded like an airplane taking off. After riding in the car for less than a minute Chad diagnosed the issue. Wheel bearings needed to be replaced - ouch! Brought the car back to have the work done and they kindly called a Lyft to take me home. Several hours later Chad called to tell me that only one side needed to be replaced, so half the cost - hurrah! They could have easily replaced everything and I wouldn't have known the difference. Got a Lyft back. I appreciate that all of the staff talk to me as a person and don't brush me off because I am a woman. Very honest, professional and friendly. read more

My car was overheating and I got nervous so stopped in last Wednesday to see if they could find out what was wrong. They called me to tell me my car failed the block test. Then they told me I needed a new engine! For $10,276.00. I picked up my car and paid the $100.12 they charged me for the estimate. My car was running fine just getting hot. No leaks under the car etc. took it somewhere else... Where it in fact did NOT fail a block test and they changed my thermostat.... Now my car is fine. I DEFINITELY feel like they were scamming me and I can't believe I paid them $100 for them to lie to me. Funny thing too.. a friend told me their dad took his car there and they did the same thing to him estimate was $8000 ... turned out to be just the thermostat. Tried to contact them through their website and I have heard nothing because i want my $100.12 back. I should not have to spend money to have a business try to scam me. read more

My car was unbelievably difficult considering all the background history and issue after issue I want to say that words will never express how grateful I am to this place considering how difficult it was and they never gave up on it no matter the circumstance they continuously reassured me that my car would be fixed. We've taken two cars here at different times and they have botched the job each time. The first time they misdiagnosed our BMW... said the AC had the "black death" and would have to redo the entire system. Took it to another shop and it was bad compresser... been going great for over 2 years. Second car was my daughter's. Something was going on with the engine...AC wouldn't work, check engine light was on, making a horrible noise and wouldn't go above 40 mph. They said nothing was wrong with it. Took it to Spencer's...bad cyclinder/coils.. they told us if we had kept driving it, it would've siezed the engine! That would have stranded my 16 year old daughter. Never going back. read more

Had the breaks on a Mustang I had just purchased fixed was told the rosters were warped and were replaced. Less than a month later the problems returned I called and was told it was all on me, told I caused the issues because as in the words of whoever answered the call "I must be driving my car like I stole it" keep in mind this is with no diagnostic just some jerk on the phone passing the blame to me. They replaced a transmission on my truck and charged me almost 5 grand for it within two years the transmission quit on me and they wanted to charge me 900 dollars to replace my transmission that was still under warrant after some arguing they did the work for free and within 1000 miles and under a year the one they replaced it with crapped out again... this company has no accountability for the work they provide they will refuse to hold employees responsible for the work they do and how they treat customers i recommend going to any other shop You can find it's disgusting this place is still allowed to operate they need to be shut down read more

There is definitely a lack of communication with this Arizona Ave location, my car was towed there on Wed and it is now Friday and still haven't heard from them. When I called yesterday to ask about it I was told they were busy and would call and update me the following day. Well, it's almost 4pm the following day and still no communication on their part. While the establishment was very clean and I was impressed with what I thought was going to happen, it did not turn out that way. I called Gruelichs early morning, told them I needed an oil change so they could get the correct filter. I have an Audi which sometimes trashes special parts. The manager called right back and said he had the filter and I headed to the them. The car was done in record time and I headed out. About 4 days later lights on the dash went on describing a problem. Then my service advisor called me asking where I got the oil changed. I advised that it was done at Gruelichs, to that he replied they over filled your cars oil by over a quart and a half. The bill to have that repair was more then the oil change. I called Gruelichs and they said they would look into it. I have heard nothing back. If you are in the market for repairs, I would pass these guys by. Not only could they have destroyed my engine but they really had a cavalier "too bad" attitude and never called me back. read more

I live only blocks from the Chandler location, which is the main reason I've been going for years for all of my cars and my daughter's car. Work has always been completed in the expected time, always charged what I was quoted, and I have never had problems with the repair. The reason for the one-star review is that I have twice been lied to about needed repairs. The first was a few years ago, when after leaving the car for an oil change I received a call telling me it was due for something, I don't recall what it was, but it was pricy. I gave permission. Later, after looking at the receipt I looked in my owner's manual to discover the service I was told was due was not actually due for another 15,000 miles. I called the head office and was given a refund, no questions asked. Tuesday of this week I took my car in for a scheduled transmission flush when I was called telling me the flush was complete, but they discovered another serious problem, a CV axle, that must be repaired soon. I decided to Google the problem to which they referred, of the four symptoms provided on the Google search, my car had none. I took the car to another mechanic's shop and learned that the left front CV axle was fine. Earlier today I called Greulich's main office and left a detailed message for the VP. As of yet the call has not been returned. When I receive the call I'll update this post. One more thing, if you are a veteran, as I am, be sure to ask for the veteran's discount. I've spent thousands of dollars at this shop and learned only a couple of days ago of the veteran's discount. read more

Was sent a text that my car was done. Got an oil change at the Chandler location. Was charged $855 from the Mesa location. Total scam!!!

They quoted me $2000 worth of repairs. Went to a different automotive repair place and had all the work done for less than $1,000. Also, they used regular motor oil instead of synthetic when they did my oil change. The manufacturer specifies that only synthetic oil be used. They also said I needed some other work done, but a different shop verified that the work they wanted done was unnecessary and expensive. I do not trust them and will not be going back. read more
