I have been here a few times already. I have not had any food only drinks. The atmosphere is a more upscale sports bar with plenty of tvs. Great place to catch a game with friends, family and co-workers. This is a big bar/resturant that has plenty of seating. It does get loud especially if crowded. Great bartenders who work here. Have to give a shout out to one of them. His name is Steve who makes wonderful drinks. Great person all around. Grey Bar was such a wonderful surprise and the perfect alternative to a full dinner before our event! We stopped in for cocktails and shared appetizers--fish tacos and calamari--and I have to say, I was seriously impressed. The fish tacos were especially flavorful and fresh. The service was great--our server was young and clearly still learning, but so eager, attentive, and sweet. I really appreciated the warm and welcoming vibe. The barstools are quite tall (short folks, your feet might dangle!), but they were still comfortable to sit and relax in. One of the coolest touches? They have a rental phone charger station! For just $3, you can pay with your phone or card, and a charger pops out so you can take it to your seat. Super convenient and thoughtful--especially when you're out for the evening. I was searching for a nice hole-in-the-wall spot where I can come in dressed casually when Greys popped up on my Yelp. Inside is a bar with modern touches. There are plenty of televisions as well. I was greeted immediately and I chose to sit down by the bar. It was casual, most people were in for work food, drinks, and conversation. I went to the bathroom before I sat down and I want to say that the large bathroom has a problem locking. When I went to sit, I sat at the bar. It took a couple of minutes to get someone's attention. For a drink, I was looking for a sweet Prosecco. When I asked the bartender, he didn't have the answer, but he offered to give me a taste test. He then pulled out La Marca and I told him to give me that. I was looking for the glass, however, he gave me the bottle ($8 difference). For food, I ordered the Angel Hair Pasta. The presentation was great. The portion seems deceiving, but it's very filling. Taste-wise, the pasta was decent, the shrimp was pretty good. The bread severed with it was good, just a bit crunchy. In all, I would probably say Greg is where you can have a casual date night. It's a shame that they don't have a happy hour because I feel like it would do well in this area. read more

Sent the drink back, they just poured the drink into a new glass and did not make a fresh drink. Also, sent back the raw burger which the server agreed it was barely cooked. I ordered the fish and chips... served on top of 14 French fries (yes I counted) the batter on the fish was sponge-like and rubbery. We would have been better off going to McDonald's! Was there Sept 23 and enjoyed myself to no end. Staff super friendly especially New York girl behind the counter and also lovely to meet the Kilnaleck lady on the floor. Hope they still there! We didn't come in here for alcohol or for food but after a later dinner where we wanted to find a nice place to have coffee and dessert. It wasn't especially crowded but there was a small group at the bar and a few groups at tables throughout. COVID protocols were being followed so we had to show our vaccine proof and were shown to the high-top of our choice. We ordered coffee and tiramisu and both were absolutely delicious. The coffee was SO on point it wasn't even funny. It seemed like it was fresh-brewed turkish coffee almost. Whatever they did to make it, it was amazing. I doubt most people who come here come for, or rave on the coffee, but if you find yourself nearby and looking for some and you like it, look no further. Tiramisu was also on point. Hands down one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The service was fantastic, food delicious, and prices very reasonable. Went here for Sunday brunch and the atmosphere was warm and inviting as people passively followed along with the football games on all of the screens. It's the perfect mix of bar and restaurant and genuinely one of the best meals I've ever had. I'm not from here, but if I ever come back this will for sure be a place I eat at again. read more

Stopped by here when we saw the HUGE inflatable soccer ball dangling from the flag pole. Windows open we sat at the table facing outside and watched the entertainment that IS Midtown Manhattan. Drinks were good and we were all in a good mood. Untill we made the mistake of asking for separate checks. My friend wanted to stay and order drinks. When I asked Maddison our bartender ( dark hairJ. She snatched the bill out of my hand and huffed and rolled her eyes. I was taken aback. Then I I saw her talk to the hostess about us. Like what's the big deal. With full attitude she was like how do you want to split this. She was so nasty that I said ..forget it. It was the holidays so we tipped her ..but honestly she didn't deserve a dime. Grey Bar is a sports bar I frequent whenever I'm in NYC. My buddy lives close by and I've spent a few Sundays here watching football before heading off to the airport. Grey Bar is somewhat of a hybrid, in that the ambience is more chic than your average sports bar, yet is still primarily catered towards sports (football) fans. Most people were tuned into the NYC teams, not surprisingly. However, the crowd was mostly non-partisan and people were cheering for a variety of teams There are plenty of TVs, the atmosphere is modern and clean. The few times I've been, they accommodated our parties of 5-6 easily. They never seem too crowded on Sundays, which is a big draw of the restaurant. The food here is better than average. Being able to eat a decent brunch while watching Sunday football is another draw of Grey Bar. Like others have mentioned, I would avoid the guacamole. However, everything else i've tried has been good. This includes the Buffalo chicken sliders and the pizzas. I tried my friend's strawberry-banana pancakes, which were good as well. They have a pretty good selection of draft beer and wine. I did not enjoy my Bloody Mary though, but that could be bartender dependent. read more
