I wish I could give ZERO stars!!!!! I'm not even sure where to start with this place. After 5 visits, over the course of a few months, my dog's misdiagnosed ear infection turned into a full blown chronic skin infection causing her to lose over 50% of her hair. With every revisit, we were given bandaids for the sypmtoms and told "it's allergies", even with her symptoms getting worse and worse with each visit. I had to research and help them try to diagonse my dog (RED FLAG). They even did a ear cytology that showed bacteria in her ear and they did not treat it correctly. With every bandaid, I reported to the "vets" that nothing changed and that her symptoms progessively got worse. I was still told that it was "allergies" and that we'd have to wait 3+ months for the hypoallergatic food to work AND to get a dermologist appointment. My dog would've been 100% hairless if I had done that. Thankfully, I found a different vet and got a 2nd opinion. After only a week on a new antibotic, she began to show signs of healing. The management here is 100% a joke. I was VERY alarmed to read reviews from past employees about their experiences. I called 3 times over the course of 1.5 weeks to talk with management about a refund, only to be told today that they "don't do refunds". Every phone call started with me repeating all of my frustrations (no one there communicates or writes anything down apparently...) They completely neglected to help my dog or provide me with proper information. They conducted pointless tests, like testing for mites even though my dog is on Simpartica Trio and the chance of her having mites was basically 0%. They showed absolutely ZERO care or remorse for my dog's worsening condition. Every visit felt extremly rushed and lacking of information as to why this could be happening... news flash.. it's not her food. Now we are on a very $$$ food that restricts her from all treats. For a If you take your animals here I highly suggest getting a second opinion. You shouldn't have to beg your Pictures are after MONTHS of "care" from Griffith Vet.

Sadly Dr Griffiths retired and this Vet office is unorganized and overwhelmed- after 15 years I'm going to switch to a new office.

My usual vet, who we have been seeing since adopting the cat almost 2 years ago, rudely dismissed my concerns over the phone and insisted that I needed to pay an $80 office visit fee just to get an answer to my question over the phone (the question was "What does the PCR panel test for?"). I started calling every other vet in Austin to find a clinic that has experience with Tritrichomonas and that I felt comfortable with. Several clinics admitted that they did not know what the parasite was or had never treated it before. Another lied and said "oh, that is super easy to treat and really common and straightforward!" which I knew was not accurate from the empirical literature online. I finally found Austin Urban Vet and the experience we have had so far has genuinely been night and day different from pervious clinics. From the very first call, the AUV team was empathetic to our situation, VERY transparent about pricing (they provided it in writing), and explicitly clear about which PCR diagnostic panel they use at AUV and exactly what it tests for. They were open and honest about their experience with Tritrichomonas and I immediately felt at ease and confident in the care that they could provide my cat. After chatting with my partner about my findings from calling almost every vet in Austin, we both agreed Austin Urban Vet was the best one to move forward with, so we made an appointment. Right off the bat, I was happy to find that AUV has a private parking lot (for free!). I headed inside with my cat and the team at the front desk was so kind and helpful. They quickly checked me in and invited me to grab a bottle of water or make myself a cup of coffee as I waited for the tech to take us into the room. We waited for maybe ~5 minutes before the tech took us to the exam room, where she scanned my cat for her microchip, weighed her, and asked questions about the presenting problem, history, etc. Dr. Helen was who attended us for the exam itself, and she was so kind and thorough. I really felt that she was providing genuine feedback, and she was honest about her experience with this parasite. She was transparent about the treatment plan and let me know her general thoughts (Ie., "If she is still positive, we will do X. If she is negative, we can try Y.") We are now waiting for the PCR results, but so far, I am so happy with our experience and feel confident that Dr. Helen will provide us with the best care possible.

SOUTH PARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL is now owned by a VENTURE CAPITAL FIRM called National Veterinary Associates, which in turn is owned by JAB Holding company, JAB has tripled in size since it started buying up vets and charging confiscatory prices, taking advantage of our love of our pets. I gave them two stars because at least they did my cat right and he's fine now. BUT they started burying me in pitch emails too, trying to feed fear about my cat's health, constantly trawling me for more money, more money, more money, all while pretending to care about my cat when they don't. If the people at South Park Animal Hospital really loved animals as much as they love MONEY, they wouldn't have sold out. But they did. I will never go back and suggest you don't start.
