I had a schedule for 3:10. They finally saw my pet at 3:55. They said someone else came in with an urgent matter. Either way, they barely communicated with me, and it took forever. I can chalk that up to a one-off, but then once they did finally see my dog, the doctor came in and painfully, slowly explained far too much stuff and tried to upsell me on four different products. Then the doctor disappeared and I waited around for another 15 minutes. If you like to waste your time and get charged too much, I recommend this place highly! read more

Walk in , Easy check in .spewk to a person and get a room and wait and then speak to assistant again and wait til doc comes. Mat is dirty from previous visits, scale is dirty from previous visit. Cold ac room , had to get a blanket for my pet . Jacket for myself. Waiting to be seen after 20 min inside room . They ask for you to lift the pet to the dirty scale and they ask to hold your pet so they touch the ear with temp . The doctor came in and checked her out and tried to give her some food and she didn't respond to her because she's having a allergy problem. She came up with a plan for different medication. Glad doc . Female lady was nice and calm and she had gloves on . Waiting on meds for my pet and we will be getting checked . Spoke to the doctor and after 30 minutes of waiting, he came in for a treatment plan went over on the tablet of the medication and what the plan will be in person. The assistant left and I'm still waiting for the medication. It's been 2 hours visit so far more waiting then anything. The exam took 4 min . A assistant told me they have to take the pet back for the meds but I want know why can't be done inside the exam room . The assistant took my pet back and said will take about 5 min .for the treatment so will see how long they take . So far it's been 5 min and I haven't seen my pet yet. So took 6 min and got my pet back . I made a payment checked out got the instructions how to use the medication's and they said they will email me a receipt for today's visit and we're all good to go after that. they said that the next day they'll call me which it was going to be Sunday and all they did is send the email out making visible a survey not a phone call back and not checking on the patient which is a cat so I don't think you should tell people that you're gonna call when you never have made the effort to call and check on the patient animals. Echoing the other review, this place is amazing. I rushed my pup here after he chewed up and swallowed one of my retainers and left really sharp pieces around my apartment and I was in distress. They saw me immediately, were so patient, and did everything necessary to make sure he was in good hands. The place is also squeaky clean. Every urgent care I called didn't pick up and I was freaking out. This place is the perfect location If you need something that's a step above a vet (because who the hell can get a same day vet appointment) but not quite an ER. Like it's urgent but doesn't require surgery (they can refer you to a hospital if you do). Such as vomiting, something lodged in throat or ate something toxic, limping, etc. They will see you very fast and make sure your fur baby is well taken care of. My dog is a very anxious giant. He is not easy to manage in the best of times, but he is kind of a nightmare when he is uncomfortable or hurting. The noises he makes are creative and upsetting and I am grateful to anyone who helps make this easier to handle for me. The people at Urgent Vet on Crestview were absolutely sensational with him. They were also pretty terrific with me, because I was pretty worried. I know we tend to avoid the emergency vet because it costs and arm and a leg, but that's unavoidable. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. My husband and I had an awful experience that we are still dealing with the aftermath of. Not only is this place incredibly expensive for very basic services ($1700 for bloodwork, an x-ray, urinalysis, and a couple basic medications), but the lack of communication between patients and medical staff is concerning. This place charged us almost $700 for services that we did explicitly not consent to. Not only that, but a couple weeks after this visit, our cat experienced a deadly urinary blockage which led to him passing. If you do choose to go here, be 100% sure you are on the same page as the staff is as to exactly what services are being done, as they will assure you that they'll keep you updated the entire time on which services are being done. They did not do this and kept going down the list of the incredibly expensive labs and services that they recommended, unbeknownst to us. We only realized at the end, once all of the services and labs were completed. They were supposed to be giving us updates after each test, like we requested, instead of just moving forward with one expensive exploratory test after another. We have attempted to solve this with them directly and are now moving on to our bank and filing a complaint with the Texas veterinary board as well to ensure no one goes through what we did. read more

Why would you let me check in for emergency at 3:48 just to not have a doctor on site?!?!? Absolutely pointless!

Our little dog was choking on a bone this afternoon. It was almost completely lodged in her windpipe with very little airflow. We rushed to UrgentVet and were immediately greeted by the vets assistant that ran her to the back and started working on her. Thanks to their quick action they were able to save her life. The vet and both of her assistants were extremely kind and professional throughout the whole ordeal and the bill was very reasonable. If you live in the area, I'd highly recommend committing the location of this clinic to memory. The few extra minutes not spent on searching for an emergency vet could save your pets life. read more

Easy to go online, make an appointment, wait at home, arrive, check in at the kiosk, and straight to a waiting room! Place is clean and the staff is attentive and kind. They asked questions and listened to my concerns. It is expensive, but it's a quick solution when your pet is in trouble. They did do a bunch of tests and things all at once, which was nice since it was nearing closing time. I would have preferred to go test by test, but that may have taken much longer, and I didn't ask to do that (didn't think to)! They are thorough, and I like that they have a x-ray machine and can give medications needed right then. If you want quick treatment and answers, this is a great place to go. They did have me sign off on the estimated bill for tests and meds, so I'd ask for that before they take your pet back if that's a concern. The estimate was more expensive than I had anticipated, but I got our puppy the treatment needed and ruled out other suspensions, which to me is worth it. We worked with Jen and Dr. Cooper for the initial visit at night, the Dana and Dr. Millington for the follow up the next day. If you are concerned about prices, just ask questions (which is hard to do when a family pet is in distress)! They were all very loving and sweet to our pup and seemed forthcoming about services. If you advocate for your pet (and wallet), this is a great place to go! Clean, kind, and competent!!! read more

I do not recommend Urgent Vet to anyone. Three times I was told to put my dog down. When I got there, she was panting really bad having a hard time breathing. That was my entire concern. I told them that she was on heart medicine. Urgent Vet ran with that and told me she was in last stage of heart failure, and also drowning in her lungs. I disagreed. I said I knew my dog. I was told she would not make it through the weekend. The doctor at Urgent Vet spoke down to me as if I was a child telling me what to do. Said my dog was in pain. She had no empathy. Again, stated I needed to put her down and I had to sign a release to take her home against medical advice. I rushed her into the specialist two days later since it was the weekend when I had her at Urgent Vet. When I got to Austin veterinary emergency clinic, I stated I was told by Urgent Vet that she was in last stage heart failure, and drowning in her lungs. They can see she was having a hard time breathing, They rushed her into the back. this was the whole main concern was her breathing. Austin emergency clinic gave her heart medication and a diuretic due to the fact what Urgent Vet diagnosed her with. The emergency clinic told me there was no water in her lungs and she only had a slight heart murmur. so that was extra monies that I spent there going on what the diagnosis Urgent Vet told me what was wrong with her. Come to find out all this heavy, breathing, excessive breathing. hard to breathe was all because of a narrowing, collapsing trachea, Urgent Vet took take x-rays which you can see her trachea. She was not diagnosed with collapsing trachea, but more deadly diagnosis. I do have a copy of the x-ray from Urgent Vet and I don't understand. How did they not see this. I looked back at a copy of the x-ray my local vet did. It is the same type of x-ray from 2022. It shows a slight narrowing of her trachea. So by now, yes, it should've been a little worse. My dog still act like a puppy roll around the grass. Urgent Vet will not make this right. I have had a couple phone appointments to talk with the regional Director of operations. I have not received a response by email for a couple months. I called up to Urgent Vet to let them know. She says she's not receiving my email and that she'll start a new thread. I replied to that one I left my phone number many times still no response. I sent her many screenshot of how many emails I've sent her still. The last communication was she was supposed to contact me today at noon. Still no response today. This is my final straw. she was supposed to call me at noon is now 12:42 PM, I would like an entire refund for my office visit there and the refund for the medication and the diuretic that was given to my dog at the specialty clinic. again urgent Vet should've seen the collapsing trachea on the x-ray. If I listen to them at the end of June my Sophie would not be here and be a part of our family still. read more

Very satisfied with my first experience at UrgentVet - Crestview and highly recommend! My small dog needed diagnosis and treatment of an eye infection outside of her vet's business hours. I liked the convenience of reserving a time online (although walk-ins are accepted) and was greeted promptly after checking in at the digital kiosk. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and very kind to my super anxious and rather uncooperative maltipoo Sascha!! Props especially to Peyton, she was amazing with pet and owner alike!!! Dr. Moghaddam and her staff were very caring and professional in treating my dog, Belle who I brought in for worrying intestinal issues. They were kind and gentle and listened to my concerns and asked questions to help get to the bottom of what was wrong with her. After examining her, Dr. Moghaddam suggested a plan for proceeding forward and answered all of my questions. I did not feel pressured or rushed. Before running tests or administering meds, her staff reviewed the procedures and costs with me before proceeding which I appreciated. The following day, I received a follow up call making sure Belle was doing better (she was) and making themselves available for questions.
