I've been going to this place literally almost my whole life and never dealt with any rude or messed up attitudes. Everyone is down to earth and really cool. Food has always been great. BUT TODAY, Miss Robin in drive thru wasn't having a great time and made sure to let me know. When i first started giving my order she kept talking over me with what to drink what else like i couldn't even answer her first question with out her talking over me with a "what else?" When it comes to food i try my hardest not to complain bc i don't want anyone messing with my food but it got to a point where i was like "hey I'm trying to answer you if you give me a sec" and she just went silent mode on me and didn't say anything else. I gave my order hooding she was still listing and when i was done she still didn't say a word. It wasn't till i was like "hello?" That she was like "anything else if not drive up" and log off again. (Mic went silent again) so i just drove up. She never repeated my order to me or gave me a price. I got to the window finally and she didn't acknowledge me for the five minutes i sat there. Not even handing us our drinks. When she finally did interact with us she was cold and talking with an annoyed tone. I asked her for her name and she hesitated to give it to me. Then said ITS ROBIN!! I was like 'damn why you so rude?" Which she replied what?? So i told her your mad rude and that sucks and she just put this crazy look on her face and was like "I'm sorry have a nice day" in the most fakest form. Like seriously? New to the SA area and was looking for a different type of place to eat. Saw this place as I passed by, turned the car around and when I got there there was about 5 cars ahead of. I was on this side of town today for work and was very hungry. There is an abundance of taco places here, but I wasn't sure that I was feeling tacos after my very lackluster enchilada the other day. SO, I opened the Trusty YELP app and looked for some food. Enter Griff's... The restaurant isn't very pretty and very bare boned on the inside. Of course, that is never a deterrant for me as I would eat in a cardboard box if the food was good. I decided on the Combo #3... a single patty burger and I upgraded to onion rings instead of fries. Added some bacon, Pepper Jack cheese and sliced jalapenos. Very yummy burger! I only wish I had got the double patty combo as the meat isn't super thick (think Whataburger). There was a good amount of condiments and veggies on the burger and it had the perfect amount of grease. The rings were ok... cooked well but obviously frozen. I probably wouldn't get them again. In a sea of taco and mexican restaurants, Griff's stands out like an island oasis. read more

The food is delicious. However, the service has been declining more and more. Today I waited for 18 minutes for my order. There were 2 ahead me. But somehow they were at number 97 and I still had not received my order. When I asked about it, their reply was "Other people had ordered before me, and that the wait was due to the onion rings." I have never worked at a fast food restaurant, but I doubt it takes 18 minutes to make onion rings. Hope the service gets better. But if they continue to hire high school kids with no adult supervision, I don't see the service changing anytime soon. read more

How can you not love Griffs. You get a burger, fries and drink for just shy of 6 bucks and it's awesome. Fresh vegetables on the burger and the burger is a fast food burger. It tastes great. The staff is great. You wouldn't be disappointed in this one. Good ol American dive. read more

You would think Griff's would/could and should be as big and well known as Whataburger here in San Antonio. But that's just not the case. No, that's not an insult because the burgers are good and you can't go wrong with the prices. They're about the same price, if not, even a bit cheaper. The fries are limp and soggy though. Griff's is generous with the jalapenos and the workers are courteous enough to ask you which sauce would you like on your burger, mayo or mustard. And yes the shakes here are very good. The place is clean with plenty of tables and is sandwiched (no pun intended) between two taco places, making it a welcome addition to budget friendly restaurants on Pleasanton Rd. You'll see a diverse cast of characters dining here whether it's an off duty Bexar County sheriff deputy dining with her kids, bikers, hoodrats, high school kids singing along to Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe song to people just looking for an affordable and different alternative to Jack, Wendy's, Whataburger and McDonalds. read more

so I finally tried this burger place griffs hamburgers, I always see it cuz its next to my favorite mexican restaurant. if you wanna try something other than the typical fast food burger chains, give griffs burgers a try. very taste!!
