I have door dashed from grill city several times. The very first time I ordered I ordered the solo meal 11 bagnet. It was grilled pork with pansit(phillipine noodles) rice and a small soup .. it was honestly a 9-10 out of 10..! the pork was juicy and tender, the rice was cooked right and the pansit was flavorful. The next 5x I ordered the same meal the pork was dry and the skin was chewy and rubbery. I kept ordering over and over in hopes I would that same consistency as the first time but it has never happened. A couple weeks ago I ordered thru DoorDash and 30min later my order was canceled . I ordered again and only half my order showed up and the main course was cancelled. The DoorDash person told me that there was only one worker, everyone called in sick, so I let it pass. The food can be excellent and the food can be okay. It's very inexpensive so I keep ordering it like I said in hopes to mimick the first time I ordered. I have never dined in but I am going to try it and maybe I will change my review a bit bit for now I give them a 3* .. I hope they read this and make the changes needed because the food can definitely be better .!! read more

We ordered catering with delivery, and when the food arrived, several items were missing. After contacting the manager, they admitted the items were never given to the delivery driver. Instead of resolving the issue immediately, they suggested we could receive the missing food at a later time, which didn't make sense since the event was happening right then. After some back and forth, they agreed to issue a refund and said they would call me later that same day once they gathered the necessary information. Unfortunately, I never received that call. Since then, we've made multiple attempts to follow up, but each time we're told the manager is unavailable. Overall, this was a frustrating experience due to the lack of accountability and poor followthrough. I hope they improve their communication and customer service moving forward. read more

What can I say? I stopped by just to order four halo-halo, and unfortunately it took over 30 minutes to receive them. I placed my order at 1:52 PM and didn't get my halo-halo until 2:34 PM. I really tried to be patient because there were three elderly ladies working as cashiers and servers, and I could see they were doing their best. However, the service was extremely slow. There seemed to be several other workers in the back and around the store, but I'm not sure how their system works because the process didn't appear organized. When they started making the first halo-halo, the staff member mentioned they were out of ice cream and had to walk to the grocery section to grab some. When she returned, she struggled to open the lid and didn't initially ask for help. Eventually someone assisted her, but it added more delay. Managers, please look into this issue. Not all customers have the time to wait that long for a simple order, and clearer coordination could really improve the experience. read more

This was literally a random stop. I was just craving for some filipino food and they were serving breakfast. They had a cool combo option that look appetizing, rice, eggs and an entree. I decided to give into temptation and ordered it. But to my surprise, the cashier said they are doing a BOGO deal!!! What!!??? The food was terrible. The Sinigang soup tasted like water, with no flavor at all despite having pork as the main ingredient. It was overpriced for the quality served. The Taho didn't taste like real Taho, it was almost like the tofu tasted burnt and old, so I had to throw it away. I know it was only $2, but I live 20 minutes away and wouldn't bother returning it. You guys should really improve the quality. This is the second time I've bought food from here and I knew better. I should've gone to Jollibee or Panda Express instead. She spoke to one of the cleaners but he was defensive. He attributed the dirty trays to customers returning them to the stack directly without cleaning. I ordered one to try and a halo halo. You order at the counter and pay at the register at the end of the counter. Skewer was nice size but was barely warm. I ate it because I was hungry but maybe I shouldn't have since pork. The taste was very good and I like that it was fatty and flavorful. I could probably eat 5-6 of these so pricing seems a bit high. I head to Seafood City when I'm feeling homesick. Reminds me of the motherland. The food is almost as good as my late grandma's cooking. The service was as always friendly, great communication and efficient preparation for to-go orders for loyal patrons. .There are several table's customers could use if they're dining in. I typically order take out and bring my food home. Depending on the times of the day Grill City is packed. Consistent number of customers standing. In line awaiting their turn. Grill City is located inside of Seafood City. Plenty of parking, but it does seem to fill up quick. As soon as you walk into the business you can smell the aroma of Filipino cooking. My husband and I shared the dishes we ordered. - longonisa - bbq chicken kabob - bbq pork kabob - grilled fish - side of white rice - Buko pandan (dessert) Everything was freshly cooked, very tasty and served hot, except for the dessert. You will stand in line and a server will assist you with your selection. Then the food platter/container is passed on to the cashier and there you will be rung up and given your food. There is indoor seating, just a warning, this area can be packed quickly too. It's a great place to get some good cooking if you can't make it to mom's or your lola's for home cooking. Not sure why people are complaining about the service here to be honest, it is a food court inside an Asian grocery store. This is NOT a restaurant that you leave tips to complain about their service so I don't mind if I'm getting attitude and what not, as long as the food is bomb. I eat here minimum once a month or whenever I feel like having Filipino food. I do agreed certain items are a bit pricey and do not like the fried items that you have to get a minimum 1/2 pound or the lechon you have to buy the whole piece. But I like the bbq combos here you get a skewer of chicken or pork and a side dish for $10.99 or upgrade to seafood/beef side dish for a dollar more. For only $12 bucks you can get stuffed from this lunch combo. It is a food court so most people take it togo or you can sit and eat at the tables there and clean up after yourself. read more

One of the lowest rated restaurants in Irvine and IMO it's not even that bad. Could it be improved? Absolutely. Is it perfect fast food? No this ain't In n Out, but I thought for the most part the food was pretty good. While this ain't like Dollar Hits in LA, $29 for 4 meals of decent skewers, tilapia, and meat did its job well. Located in the Seafood City market,you'll find this spot inside the market on the right across from Jubilee. Ordering style is cafeteria style, where you can choose to get a plate a 1 person people up to 100 (catering seems to be huge) and the wait wasn't bad at 5pm on a weekday. The grill is out in the open for you to watch before you head in line too. I wanted to sample their meats, and got the mixed family platter of Tilapia (2 pieces, which is just 1 fish cut in half), 1 and a half pork liempo, 2 chicken, 1 pork, and 1 Longanisa skewer for about $29 with tax. The food is more westernized than authentic filpino food but I don't care, I enjoyed all of the dishes. Skewers: 5/5 All of them were pretty good. The Longanisa (A sweet sausage) tastes very similar to Chinese sausage if you tried that. The marinade on all of them were on point for fast food. Would go back for this. Tilapia: 4/5 I enjoyed it, despite having a whole fish appearance, is actually mostly deboned and filled with tomatoes inside. Might not be for everyone. But it's not Isaw so personally it's not a big deal. Pork Liempo: 3/5 I lied all the meats doing well, this ones the only one I didn't like. Too tough all over and was more cartilage than I wanted but then again, it was cheap af so you get what you pay for. Customer service: 2/5 Had the alertness of a sloth and the people behind the counter had no idea what was on their menu. I can forgive one person being brain-dead but the cashier too? Oh and the 3rd person? All three of them kept turning around to look at what platter I ordered which by that point I just found it hysterical. Overall, better than what Yelp says but still has issues with customer service and how little the workers know their own menu. The food is always so good and it's so convenient because it's barely a 5min drive away from my place. I was surprised at the review about the workers giving attitude because she couldn't speak Tagalog as I've never had that before. Typically, I speak Tagalog when I'm ordering or shopping. It's not my first language, but I made it a point to teach myself. But when I'm with other people, I'll speak English as not to let anyone feel left out when I'm ordering.
